How to remove a wooden post from concrete. How to pull out concrete pillars using a winch. The process of pulling out a stump

Before screwing in the piles for the new house, Alexander Turkovsky had to dismantle the old building. The most difficult part was removing the concrete pillars of the old foundation. The car winch came to the rescue.

Manually pull out concrete blocks A columnar foundation turned out to be practically impossible. We decided to use a car winch, but to do this we had to think about how to grab the post itself, as well as what to grab onto with the winch. I wrapped the posts with a steel chain that I had once bought for rigging work. The loop was closed with a carbine. But the idea of what to hook the winch to did not come right away.

Give me a foothold

I used the technique recommended for pulling a car out in an open field where there is no support. It is as follows. The shovel is driven all the way into the ground. Due to the large area of the bayonet, the shovel in this situation plays the role of a kind of anchor. To further strengthen the position of the shovel, the top of the handle is tied with a rope to another support (for example, to the base of a smaller shovel), and if the soil is weak, then the top of the handle of the second shovel is tied to the next shovel. This creates a fairly reliable support for the winch.

Iron "hand"

The first post came out of the ground well, but I had to tinker with the second one. I stuck the shovel right behind concrete path, which turned out to be a good stop, but due to the position of the cable hook being too high, the handle of the shovel broke. I had to make a shovel with a handle made of steel pipe. The result was a heavy but durable tool, not suitable for digging earth, but successfully helping to pull out posts.

Additional tool

Sometimes it turned out that the line of the ropes did not coincide with the direction of the chain, then the shovel began to fall to the side. Since the lateral force is relatively small, it is easy to compensate for it with a simple support.

It must be said that it is difficult or even impossible to do without an additional tool. I used a sledgehammer to drive shovels into the ground. I used a narrow shovel and a garden scoop to remove soil around the post, and used an ax with a pipe welded to it to lift up the concrete block.

Can work alone

It is, of course, more convenient to pull out blocks together, but it was possible to work with a winch and a wagon alone. I pulled the winch cable all the way, and then helped move the block with a wagon. Then the cycle was repeated until the moment when the column crawled out of the ground to such an extent that the winch’s traction was sufficient.

I must say that I do not use a car winch in normal mode. Usually the cable is doubled to create a chain hoist, but I abandoned this to increase the length of the cable. As practice has shown, the winch effort in this mode is quite enough.

Last summer, at our dacha, my son and I needed to pull out of the ground a pole in the form of a steel pipe with a diameter of 120 mm that had been driven into it 1.5 m deep. There were no tools at hand, and I didn’t want to dig out the pipe in the drizzling rain. And then the idea occurred to me how to do it.

A long crowbar was applied vertically to the pipe, the lower end of which was at a short distance from the ground, the pipe and the crowbar were tightly wrapped two or three times with a rope moistened with water, and placed pipe a stop in the form of a small stump of a log (Fig. 1).

Then the son turned scrap at its upper end perpendicular to the post. The rope ring strongly compressed the post and the crowbar, which, having reached the stop, became a lever (Fig. 2). With his help, the son pulled the pole a short distance out of the ground. After this, the crowbar was returned to its original position and lowered down the post along with the rope ring to a distance equal to the height to which the post was pulled out, and the operation was repeated.

Thus, over several times, the pillar was removed from the ground without the use of any special mechanisms or digging it up.

If the pole sits very firmly in the ground, it is better to use two crowbars (or other levers), which need to be placed on the pole from different sides and wrapped around one common rope. In this case, two stops are used, and the crowbars (levers) are turned in opposite directions by two workers (Fig. 3).

  • Summer shower, undoubtedly, contributes to a pleasant and comfortable pastime at the dacha. This type of shower is used mainly during the summer holiday season. After all, the shower itself is not insulated and the water cannot be
  • When building an extension with a carport or a gazebo on the site, you have to install poles. They must be positioned strictly vertically and at the correct height. And many people know
  • You can saw off a beam or board at a right angle or an angle of 45°, cut a pipe with a diameter of more than 50 mm, or bend a pipe in a home workshop using simple tools.
  • If the site is in the forest, then digging up the soil is very slow, taking a lot of effort, large and small roots of trees and shrubs that grow on the site. I decided to make a rooter that I could use
  • I recommend that all gardeners, gardeners and owners of small plots of land acquire universal tool for marking furrows - with a sliding marker.

This is a great way to remove a post along with concrete base without putting in much effort. This method can be quite suitable not only for wooden but also for steel poles. To save your strength and create a powerful pulling force, a car jack will be used.

We pull out the pillar along with the concrete base

We cut down the pillar, leaving it about a meter high. This, of course, is not necessary, but in the future it will be more convenient to work with the part that will be removed from the ground.

Cut a block from the sawn part and drill two holes in it.

Use a clamp to temporarily attach the block to the post.

We will continue to drill the pillar itself through the same holes. Of course, everything can be drilled at once, but it may not be entirely convenient.

Next, we hammer in wood studs or long bolts.

We prepare a base for supporting the jacks from a thick board. The support should rest on free ground, at some distance from the concrete base.

We lay down the timber. It must be reliable and withstand significant forces without severe deflection.

We place the jack and rest it against the screwed block.

As the pillar comes out of the ground, we place blocks, since the jack's stroke at one time is not enough.

We bring the jack together and repeat the procedure.

You can see the pillar coming out. Next we add more bars.

As soon as more than half of the concrete base has come out of the ground, the pillar can be tilted on its side.

That's all. It didn't take a lot of time or effort.

After the pillar, there remains one fairly equal groove, which, by the way, can be reused.

A simple method for uprooting fence posts without extra effort I personally really liked it.
As for steel structures, then the steps are the same, except that instead of drilling and bolts, you can use welding.
As you can see in this example, the concrete base has the shape of a cone, which greatly simplified the task. If the base is made as a step with an increase towards the bottom, then this method is also quite suitable. Except that in this case the pole will have to be pulled out to the very end.

Everyone has their own fashion and hobbies, and therefore sometimes it’s very nice to find like-minded people, appreciate their stamp collection or skill in a certain game. Here are collected various videos that are dedicated to one or another hobby. It doesn’t matter whether you like chess, tennis, or collecting wild, untamed animals under your roof - here you will be able to find good video- content you like.

Nowadays, one hobby is very popular both online and in reality, accessible mostly only to the female sex - make-up on camera. It will seem to ordinary viewers that in these videos the girls are simply putting on makeup and making a big deal out of a mountain. But in reality, these beauties are showing off their artistic skills, which they have developed over the years. In such videos you can find tips, life hacks, and also highlight many useful points that you missed in your life. Curvy models and their stylists will tell you what eye shadow to choose and what dress to choose to match your hairstyle. For many women, this has become a kind of hobby to which they devote almost their entire lives.

In addition to make-up, many girls simply adore shopping, and therefore often upload their trips to the local store to YouTube. shopping mall, where they shop for clothes and begin to examine and try them on. Such girls often collect a whole collection of different outfits at home, and some could even open their own store and sell clothes for several years - they have so many purchased outfits. And their entire vast collection falls into the camera lens. To be honest, I don’t understand why many girls watch this, but there are clients for such content and it’s a little strange.

However, not only girls love fashion and style and are distinguished by their hobbies; men also have many different hobbies that can amaze to the core. Some people collect napkins from stores, some like to play sports simulators (which is wild in itself), but there are also those who spend their days pestering women and collecting their kisses. At the same time, they prefer to record their adventures on a video camera, and then put the videos on public display and make themselves great machos.

In any case, in our world there are so many different hobbies, activities, affairs, and all of them can captivate a person with a certain mindset for some time, and maybe even for the rest of his life. There are so many of them that there is simply no point in listing them further. On this page you can find hundreds various videos, and they can be dedicated to anything. After all, how many people there are, so many hobbies. Each person can invent a specific time killer for himself. Sometimes you may even be surprised by what the human brain is capable of when it's bored, but don't be surprised if your own hobbies are strange to someone.

Look at people doing their favorite thing, laugh at the stupidity of what is happening, or emphasize for yourself certain things that you can find applications in your life. Here, for the most part, entertainment and informational and stylish video content.

Hello to all do-it-yourselfers, as well as summer residents!

Recently, when the snow melted and the ground began to dry out, I ran into one small problem. It consisted in the fact that at the very exit from the garden, next to the gate, a small tubercle came out of the ground. Moreover, the further it went, the higher it became and gradually began to interfere with the passage, and even later, the lower edge of the gate began to cling to it when opening.

When I dug up this tubercle with a shovel, it turned out that it was a wooden stump, or rather, the base of an old wooden post, apparently preserved from the times of the old wooden fence. Moreover, over the past few years, this stump did not show any signs of life, but this spring, for some reason, it began to actively crawl out of the ground.

This is what this stump looks like.

Naturally, there was nothing left to do but uproot this stump.

Moreover, I decided to do this, which is called “little blood”, and did not dig a large hole around the stump, but simply tapped it with a sledgehammer, shaking it from side to side.

And then, I tried to pull out this stump with a crowbar.

However, this was not the case. It turned out that the stump sits quite firmly in the ground. But most importantly, it seemed to me that when pulling it out with a crowbar, when the crowbar picks up the stump from only one side, it warps, which is why it actually becomes very difficult to pull it out. Moreover, this stump is quite long and sits quite deep, at least 60-70 cm.

As a result, it became obvious that in order to uproot this stump using a crowbar, you need to dig a deeper hole around it (30-40 centimeters deep). However, I really didn’t want to do this, since the ground around the stump is very compacted, and in addition, there are a lot of stones and fragments of bricks that were filled in and compacted when installing the wooden pole.

And then another idea came to me. It seemed to me that if I made some kind of powerful metal hook and hammered it into this stump, then by applying a vertical force with a crowbar exactly in the center of the stump, it could be pulled out quite easily.

As a result, I rummaged through old pieces of iron and found this ancient one door handle. Moreover, this handle is quite old, perhaps from the 19th century, since it is forged and quite durable.

Materials and tools for making a simple device

This is what I decided to use to pull out the stump, especially since this handle just fits the diameter of the stump.

In addition to the pen, I needed the following tools and materials:

  • Two long wood screws.
  • Cordless screwdriver.
  • Screwdriver bit RN2, for driving screws into stumps.

The process of pulling out a stump

So, I placed the door handle on top of the end of the stump and screwed it in with two screws.

It must be said that the wood of the stump is rotten on the outside and to a depth of several centimeters, but inside it is still quite strong. Therefore, it is imperative to use long screws. In addition, in order for the screws to withstand high forces, their diameter must be at least 4.5-5 mm.

After that, I pulled the handle, finding that it held quite firmly.

Well, now all that remains is to carefully pry the stump by the handle with a crowbar and pull it out.

And indeed, I began to slowly pull out the stump with a crowbar, applying force exactly in the center of the stump.

As the stump was pulled out, I placed bricks under the other end of the crowbar. Well, in the final stages, I finally pulled the stump out of the hole by hand.

That's all! This is what the pulled out stump looks like.

Moreover, it took me literally half a minute to pull out the stump in this way.

Moreover, I did not immediately remove the handle from the stump, but just holding it by the handle, I took it to the fire, which turned out to be very convenient.

And already on the fire, he unscrewed the handle.

Like this in a simple way, with the help of a simple device made in haste, I was able to quickly and easily uproot a wooden stump from a pole and at the same time significantly save energy and time.

Well, that's all for me! Bye everyone and more simple and effective solutions in chores that save energy and time!
