There are three main ways of such welding:

The disadvantage of this technology is that this seam itself is a weak point in the design. Therefore, where it is required to withstand high loads, the seam-point method is used, in which the roller is not smooth, but protected. The treads are the working ridges that provide localized pressure, and the seam does not look like a line, but like a uniform chain of dots. It is stronger than a "smooth" seam.
