Existing models of illuminated beds, types and locations of lighting. Illuminated pallet bed: unusual do-it-yourself furniture (25 photos) Illumination of the bed with LED strip

With my own hands making a bed is no easy task. But with a strong desire, as well as the availability necessary materials and tools, it becomes real! Now we will learn how to build a bed, but not quite an ordinary one - we will build an LED backlight into the back of the bed, it will allow you to read books before going to bed. There will also be a cell phone charger on the bed.

We will need:
- boards, bars (you will also need boards of a contrasting red color);
- car USB-connector;
- LED strip;
- solder, soldering iron, adapter, wiring, clamps;
- joiner's glue;
- carpentry tools;
- boards from chargers.

Step 1
The author began by creating a layout of the future bed. You can sketch it both on a sheet of paper, noting your calculations, or create a layout using a graphics program on a computer (fortunately, you will find a lot of those on the Internet). In the photo you can see what the final design of the bed of the author of this master class looks like. The legs are bent downwards outward, a low side is also present on the opposite side, there is a headboard (there will be an LED strip in it). The author’s mattress is supported by transverse beams in the box, the height of the bed is quite high, so that under it you can then safely make a place to store bed linen.

Just remember that your layout must be responsive. Some dimensions may have to be corrected, this is affected by the dimensions of the source materials and their quantity.

Step 2

Make a panel of red boards. Take narrow boards, glue large squares for the headboard. Here you can not do without clamps and wood glue. Glue is applied to the sides of the squares, the author fastened the boards tightly, and after half an hour removed the excess glue that came out. Then wait for the glue to dry completely.

Step 3

Legs are harder to do. They need to be curved. The basis for them is a 4x4 beam. Adjust the length of the bars according to the layout of your bed. Make a saw cut on one side at the bottom, glue small pieces of timber to the opposite side, first fitting them to the desired shape. Fasten the legs with glue, when it dries, sand them with coarse sandpaper, then with fine-grained sandpaper to give the material a smoother texture.

Step 4

Make bases for the headboard for the opposite side of our future bed. By appearance they resemble rails fastened with boards (they are transverse). Secure the parts with wood glue and self-tapping screws.

Step 5

For panels, blanks are needed more aesthetic. Cut off the edges of the squares, sand. This is a very painstaking work - be patient. Prepare a layout for setting up the router in advance.

Step 6

Insert the finished panels into the frames for the headboards of the bed. All credits are fixed with carpentry glue. Clamps are also needed, remove them only when the glue dries.

Step 7

Now move on to the bed frame. Fasten the side parts together, prepare holes for fixing cross beams. They need to be fixed with glue and bolts.

Step 8

Now create a barrier - it should mask the LED strip. This is a thin figuratively carved board, its length is equal to the head of the bed.

Step 9

Cut out the slots on the side for the USB connector. Gently insert the wires, circuit, adapter from the car USB. To cover the inserts from the boards, cut out the plates with holes, insert into place.

Step 10

Fasten the tape under the top cross board in the gap. Everything is shown in the photo.

Many of us have come across a situation where we want to do something interesting at home, but at the same time not expensive or complicated. Any Finishing work do not fit into the formula described above. even ordinary wallpapering requires a lot of effort and energy. And it's hard to surprise guests with new wallpapers...

So we decided to offer you a new and interesting solution- neon bed lighting. I’ll make a reservation right away that by “neon illumination” we mean LED because. it completely replaced neon tubes 5 years ago.

So let's start with planning. Given - a bed about 7 meters in perimeter, small room without repair, socket in another corner, shabby bad linoleum. This combination is almost the worst option to work with. in a bad interior, the backlight looks somehow not very appropriate. But on the other hand, what harder example, the better it is.
The task is to make it look beautiful.

First of all, based on the fact that the bed is in the corner, we decide to highlight only 2 sides, the total length of which is 3.5 m. For these purposes, you can take + +

The most difficult thing in all the work is to solder the wiring in one place. If you can handle this, then the rest will seem like a mere trifle. Here is an approximate set of what is required (only a soldering iron is better to take two times less). In the photo, tape, remote control, controller, board, rosin, solder, soldering iron, scissors. Behind the scenes - electrical tape, wires, power supply.

We measure the length of the sides of the bed. We got 2 m by 1.5 m. Accordingly, we cut our tape into pieces of this length. We cut along the cut lines. We get two pieces. As you probably understood, we will have the corner of the bed in the place of the cut, and we cut it just so that the tape can bend in this place. Next, solder these 2 pieces with a 5 cm piece of wire. We took a 4-wire telephone wire, but by and large it is not very convenient! It is better to take 2 two-wire copper wiring.

Next, solder one more wire to one of the ends of the tape - it will go to the controller. Obviously, the length of the wire should be equal to the distance to the controller measured along the wall of the room (since the wire will go there), which means that the place for it must be thought out in advance. Attention! in this example, the controller is used for IR communication, that is, its sensor must be in a visible place so that it can be "hit" by the remote control. If this option does not suit you, you can take it. After the wires are soldered, you can check the circuit. Attach the + tapes to the + of the power supply, then apply all 3 minus tapes to the power supply in turn. If everything is done correctly, then the colors will light up the same on both pieces (red, blue and green). If different colors light up, or, for example, yellow comes from somewhere, then 100% is not correctly soldered. Check the contacts carefully - most likely they are shorting a little.

Next, stick the tape on the edge of the bed!

Having pasted the entire tape - we reach the junction with the wall

In our example, we are dealing with a terrible wooden baseboard. Therefore, we simply wring it out with a screwdriver and lay a tape for it. If you have a normal plastic plinth, then you can lay the wire in the cable channel (if it is there), if not, then you will also have to squeeze it out somehow.

Thus, we bring the wire to the controller, connect it to the power supply. Actually everything!

We look at the result, and we don’t really like it.
a) on the floor glare from diodes
b) illuminated leaky linoleum looks very bad

We make a decision! lay a carpet with a thick and long pile. This solution turns out to be very successful.

We draw your attention to the amazing brightness of the backlight. Even during the day in a well-lit room, it is still very bright. At night, she is just beautiful!

When it comes time to equip the bedroom, you want to make all the elements truly unique. The same applies to the bed, now you can independently make the backlight of the bed led strip in just half an hour. In this article, we will tell you how to connect the tape to the bed and look at step-by-step instructions.

Necessary materials

Please note that each of these options has a different cost. However, the higher it is, the better it will look in your interior.

How to make bed lighting with LED strip: step by step instructions

Now let's move on to the most important thing and try to talk about how to make the backlight in the bed yourself. In fact, there are no special problems in this matter, the main thing is to show a little patience and desire.

After watching this video, you can easily do high-quality backlight beds in your home.

Note! Instead of the usual LED strip, you can use durlight. It has similar characteristics and has a lower cost. However, the light of its glow leaves much to be desired, so it's up to you to decide.

One of the options for decorative lighting in the children's room and bedroom is the creation of hidden lighting for the bedside area. To do this, as a rule, use an LED strip or duralight, which is attached around the perimeter of the bed. Next, we will take a closer look at how to make a do-it-yourself illuminated bed, providing several options for instructions with photo and video examples!

Idea #1 - LED strip

It is best to connect a single-color or multi-color (RGB) LED strip below the bed contour. In the first case, you only need a tape with diodes and a suitable power supply. In the second case, you additionally need to buy an RGB controller and a control panel to create a suitable backlight shade.

So to do it yourself LED lightening under the bed in the bedroom, you must do the following:

Hidden lighting controlled via Wi-Fi

Here, according to such instructions, you can easily make decorative lighting from below the bedside area yourself. A reasonable addition to this idea would be to highlight, as shown in the video above. In this case, the LED strip will only turn on if the sensor detects movement in the bedroom, which makes the hidden lighting not only functional, but also economical!

Idea number 2 - Duralight

Another way to do hidden lighting do-it-yourself floor under the bed - connect a duralight bed along the contour (a special luminous cord). In this case, it will also take a little time to create decorative lighting, and from the materials you only need duralight, an electric cable for connecting to the network, special plugs, self-tapping screws and fasteners.

So, you can independently fix the duralight under the bed as follows:

  1. Select appropriate place attaching a luminous cord.
  2. Attach special plugs to one end of each duralight.
  3. Connect the electrical cable to the free ends.
  4. Fix the backlight at the bottom of the bed. Fasteners must be installed every 25 cm.
  5. Connect the cable to the mains and check the finished decorative lighting.

As you can see, making a do-it-yourself illuminated bed in a child's room or bedroom is not very difficult. For inspiration, we recommend you look at finished photos ideas:

By the way, another alternative creating lighting above the bed will be either lamps behind the back. In the second case, the backlight will also be hidden, but the light will emphasize the headboard area, and not the floor, which in its own way will complement the interior of the room in an interesting way. This option looks something like in the photo:

There is nothing complicated, yet there are a number of nuances that are best taken into account before attaching it. Therefore, we wrote this, we hope detailed instructions.

Let's first figure out what kind of backlight you bought?

If it was bought in ours, then everything will be clear to you, because it is on her example that we will analyze the installation.
If in another store, then just look at the principle and apply it to your copy.
We note right away that the standard illumination of the bottom of the bed from the Belmarco factory has only one glow color (warm white). Other colors cannot be selected as they use a single color LED strip and not an RGB strip. They don't have a remote remote control, they are equipped with a standard on / off button. Therefore, information about the settings of the remote control modes for people who have bought such a backlight will not be relevant.

So let's get started...

1) Check the backlight for operability.

The very first thing to do is to check that the purchased backlight works. To do this, connect all the elements, see if the battery is inserted into the remote control (if you have one) and connect to the network. Make sure it turns on and off, that all the LEDs on the tape are lit. We all check our backlights for performance before selling, so there should not be any problems with them. If you bought it elsewhere and it didn’t work during the test run, it’s better to immediately return it to the seller.

2) Assemble the machine bed frame

Next, you need to assemble the car bed frame, so it will be much more convenient to install the backlight.
- attach to the side of the bed the bars on which the slats will lie under the mattress
- connect the sides to the front of the bed and the back

3) Determine where the socket is closer

Now think about which side you better bring out the backlight power wire. If the socket is closer to the front of the bed, you will need to start gluing the LED strip from the front. If the outlet is closer to the back, then we will start gluing the tape from it.

4) The backlight on the crib is glued on the side

Next important point. The LED strip is glued to the side of the crib, under wooden blocks so that the light from it does not go down, as real motorists are used to, but to the side, to the opposite side of the car. Therefore, it can be glued both to the near sidewall and to the far sidewall. We recommend gluing to the far, i.e. the one next to the wall. In this case, there will be more light from it in the room, so it will perform better as a night light. In addition, our lights have the ability to adjust the brightness, so you can always choose the optimal level of glow. The manufacturer "Belmarco" advises to glue on the near one, so that it is not very light in the room at night, because they do not have any brightness adjustments.

5) Securely fasten the backlight control section

Before the beginning of the tape itself, which is directly glued to the bed, there is a piece of wire in white thermal insulation of the order of 20-30 cm. It contains a control unit that is responsible for adjusting and working with the remote control. In order not to damage this unit, we recommend attaching it with two cable cleats to the front or back of the bed, gently nailing them with a hammer. This will also help to avoid tearing off the tape from the bed if children accidentally or deliberately pull on the edge of the wire or the backlight power supply.

6) Gently stick the backlight on one side of the car bed

You can start installing the backlight just by nailing this piece of wire. But as practice has shown, it is more convenient to first glue some part of the backlight, and then nail the initial piece. The LED strip is easy to install. Slowly take it away from her. protective film and gradually, pressing to the base, glue along the entire length. If the edge of the tape remains, wind it up and glue it to the back of the bed (or to the front, if you started gluing from the back).

Backlight mode settings from the remote control:

Red On/Off button.

If suddenly it does not respond to pressing, check if the power supply is plugged into the outlet. If everything is in order with the power supply, see if the small LED located on the remote control lights up. If it does not respond to pressing, check if you inserted the battery into the remote control correctly and if it is there at all. If you have been using the backlight for a long time and the LED has become dim, you should replace the battery in the remote control. You can buy it in a computer store, in a watch workshop or in other stores. Its name is CR2025. Don't buy cheap batteries, the best ones on sale right now are GP and Sony.

Color + and Color - buttons

With these buttons we change the color of the backlight. There are about 20 colors available.

Bright + and Bright – buttons

They are used to adjust the brightness of the backlight. In some models of remote controls, the brightness is stepped - it is easier to adjust it by frequently pressing these buttons. In other models of remotes, the brightness is smooth, so it is better to press and hold this button to the required brightness level. Please note that you can select the brightness level only on static colors (when one color is on), in the dynamic (blinking) mode, the brightness level does not work.

Demo button

This is the demo mode button. When you click on it, the backlight will flicker in the standard mode.

Mode + and Mode – button

With them, we select the dynamic / flickering mode we need. There are about 19 types of them. Note that brightness adjustment does not work in this mode. Therefore, if you want to change the brightness of the flickering mode, then first select a single color, change its brightness, and then select the desired dynamic mode.

Speed + and Speed – button

Serve to regulate the speed of dynamic modes. You can make the transfusion or flickering slower or faster. Accordingly, they work only with these modes and in others (single) they will not give any effect.
