We fasten the furniture wheels, the distance between them is 12 cm for not big bottles up to 0.75 liters and we provide holes for screwing wheels at a distance of 17 cm for large bottles from 1 liter and above. We fasten the base of the cable channel to the side beam, it will serve as a rail (guide) for sliding the cutting tool.

We cut a glass bottle.

We put the desired bottle, after washing the label, on the wheels, press the bottom against the stop, install the glass cutter in the right place, press the cutting part against the glass and evenly rotate the bottle along the axis by 360 degrees. The beginning of the cut must coincide with its end, i.e. circle must be closed. We do the cut once, if you do it again, the bottle may crack unevenly.

Then we take a container with hot water(boiling water) and pour it over the place of the cut, then quickly lower the bottle into ice or very cold water. The characteristic crack of broken glass should be heard and the bottle should split exactly along the cut. If this does not happen, you will have to repeat water treatment(from hot to cold).

The way to get the same tape from plastic bottles is surprisingly simple and affordable.

You only need two M5 bolts (no longer needed) at least 30 mm long, two nuts and washers for them, a wooden block or board, a clerical knife blade, and several washers bigger size, for example with a hole of 8 mm (their number depends on the thickness of the cut tape).
