Fire hatch: design, GOST, dimensions, installation. Fire hatches Type 2 fire hatches to the attic

Fire hatches, like other fireproof barriers, are designed to protect the premises from fire and smoke in case of fire. LLC "Etalon Center" produces hatches from high-quality metal and installs them at the customer's site. You can buy fire hatches of several degrees of fire resistance from us at an affordable price.

fire hatches

Fire hatches are installed in places where it is not possible or necessary to install a full-fledged door. These can be exits to the attic, to the roof, openings for access to ventilation shafts and elevators, as well as to cable compartments of buildings. Accordingly, depending on the installation location, fire hatches are divided into:

  • ceiling;
  • wall.

According to the rules fire safety and the requirements of Rosstroynadzor, the minimum time during which the structure must maintain integrity is 30 minutes. LLC "Etalon Center" produces products that can withstand fire from 30 to 120 minutes, which corresponds to the standard levels of fire resistance:

  • EI/EIs 30;
  • EI/EIs 60;
  • EI/EIs 90;
  • EI/EIs 120.

The price of products will differ depending on the selected fire resistance limit.

Fire hatch design

According to the standard, fire hatches for access to the attic and internal shafts are made of two steel sheets with a thickness of at least 2 mm, between which a heat-insulating plate is laid. Epoxy-polyester powder paint RAL is used for painting. A fairly large selection of colors allows you to make the design as invisible as possible against the background of walls or ceilings.

Fire hatches in the places of access to the roof may have a slightly different look. The cover of the product can be made not only from metal, but also from heat-resistant glass.

It must be remembered that fire barriers of this type must protect the building not only from fire, but also from illegal entry by outsiders. That is why our products are equipped with Apecs fireproof cylinder locks. This manufacturer has proven itself in Russian market door fittings and locks of varying degrees of protection. The product is also distinguished by a very reasonable price.

For all fire-fighting products of Etalon Center LLC, including fire hatches issued a certificate, license and passport. Our products comply with GOST and we can guarantee their durability and safety in use.

The products of our company combine excellent quality and low price. We will deliver and install hatches just in time in compliance with all building regulations.

In fact, metal fire-resistant hatches are the same, only smaller - on average, LPM have dimensions from 500 × 700 mm to 900 × 1100 mm along the construction opening.

They are most often installed when it is not technically possible to install or it is impractical, for example, there is a need to install the structure in the ceiling or floor.

Contrary to popular misconception, the requirements for fire hatches are not regulated by a separate GOST, for the simple reason that GOST requiring the manufacture of fire doors (including hatches) DOES NOT EXIST in nature.

Under, they mean only methods for testing doors for fire resistance according to the state standard, but no more.

However, despite the similarity with metal PDs, CVLs have some distinctive features.

Installation Features

According to the type of installation, hatches are divided into:

  • Wall- from the name, it is clear that the products are installed in the walls, they have a smaller thickness door leaf and boxes, because are not subjected to constant load;
  • Ceiling (attic)- are installed in the ceiling and lead, as a rule, to the attic or to the roof (roof) of the building. Such hatches are necessarily supplied with vertical or inclined stairs;
  • floor standing- are installed on the floor, and lead most often to basements for various purposes. These types of products are made using a reinforced box and canvas (up to 2 mm thick), because. can be subjected to significant load (you can walk on them).

Ceiling and floor hatches can only be installed with the hinges outward, i.e. so that it opens up, their box can only be angular.

canvas

The metal door leaf LPM, like the door leaf DPM, is made of steel with a thickness of 0.8 mm to 2 mm, depending on the purpose and fire resistance.

For example, floor fire hatches should be stronger than wall hatches, because. they can be walked on, which means that the thickness of the floor door leaf will be higher. Also with fire resistance - the higher its limit, the thicker the door leaf.

LPM door leaf is filled mineral wool(mineral board), some manufacturers, along with mineral wool, install fire-resistant boards impregnated with a flame retardant.

The finishing of the leaf is made by painting according to the RAL scale or less often it is finished with veneer, film or with imitation under stainless steel or a tree.

Since LPM is usually used as ordinary technical hatches, for finishing, the simplest RAL color (usually white or gray) is most often used.

Weight 1 square meter door leaf LPM, is approximately 35-40 kg, this value depends on the thickness of the steel sheet. Thus, a 600 × 800 fire-resistant hatch will weigh about 55-65 kilograms.

LPM canvas is glazed, as a rule, in very rare cases by special order, in standard version hatches are not glazed.

LPM are most often single-field, although, depending on the purpose of the hatch, they can also be double-field, but much less often.

Box

The door frame (frame) of fire hatches, unlike the DPM box, is most often angular, less often end or enclosing.

around the perimeter door frame, as with DPM, a thermosetting sealant and a conventional rubber sealant are glued.

Like PDM, hatches can be "cold" - for installation inside or "warm" for installation outside the room.

closers

I would like to note right away that closers for fire hatches are installed in an additional configuration. The door closer is not installed as standard.

Unlike fire doors and gates, where a closer must be provided, a closer is not required in fire hatches.

According to the technical regulations, only those fire hatches that can be operated in the open position must be equipped with devices that ensure automatic closing of the hatch during a fire.

Since most LPM is used in a closed state, manufacturers of fire hatches also install a closer, most often optionally, as a rule, a closer is not included in the standard package.

Locks, handles and hinges

The canvas of fire hatches is supplied, as a rule, with latches, more often - with the possibility of opening only on one side. But depending on the purpose of the hatch, it can be equipped with a lock that can be closed from both sides, as well as two handles (one on each side) that can be opened from both sides.

For LPM, as well as for DPM, fire-resistant (refractory) door locks that does not jam during a fire. If necessary, the grooves for the lock are treated with a flame retardant or glued with a thermosetting sealant.

LPM handles are made, as a rule, in a standard push version with plastic coated and steel core. At the request of the customer and the possibility of the manufacturer, the canvas can be equipped with an anti-panic system.

For LPM, standard hinges are used for metal doors.

Fire resistance types

Fire hatches, according to the technical regulations, belong to the same type of filling openings in fire barriers as fire doors and are tested for fire resistance by the same method. And this means that all the designations of the fire resistance limits of fire doors are also valid in relation to the LPM.

Thus, according to table 24 of the Technical Regulations (FZ No. 123), a fire hatch can be:

  • 1st type = LPM 01 60 = LPM EI 60;
  • 2nd type = LPM 02 30 = LPM EI 30;
  • Type 3 = LPM 03 15 = LPM EI 15 (in practice, such LPMs are practically not produced, mainly EI 30 and EI 60 are produced).

There are also products with higher fire resistance limits up to EI 120, however, in practice, such hatches are used only in complex (in terms of fire safety) facilities, with the presence of explosive and flammable materials. Such designs are made, most often, to order.

In the standard version, hatches are produced with fire resistance limits of EI 30 and EI 60. If for any reason you doubt what type (limit) of fire resistance a fire hatch should be installed in your particular situation, then in most cases, the product of the 1st type (EI 60), size not less than 600×800 mm. The only exceptions are premises with fire and explosive materials and works.

Prices

On average, the price of fire hatches ranges from 5,000 rubles for a product with a size of 500 × 700, fire resistance EI 30 - up to 9,000 rubles for a LPM with a size of 900 × 1100, fire resistance EI 60.

As in the case of fire doors - the price of LPM depends largely on the type of hatch configuration - the higher the quality of materials and finishes, the more expensive the entire structure will be.

Certificate of conformity

According to Federal Law No. 123, fire hatches MUST have a certificate of compliance (fire certificate) with fire safety requirements.

It is issued based on the results of similar procedures that all fire doors, gates, curtains and curtains go through to obtain it.

Installation locations

The most common installation locations for LPM are:

  • Exits to the roof (roof) and attic of buildings / structures;
  • Fire niches and vestibules;
  • Elevator and ventilation shafts;
  • Electrical and equipment rooms;
  • Warehouse and industrial premises(especially with flammable materials);
  • Basement and utility rooms.

For the installation of fire hatches, organizations or individual entrepreneurs who have the appropriate license for the installation of fire doors (including LPM) issued by the Ministry of Emergency Situations should be involved.

After a fire breaks out in one place of the building, as practice shows, the fire begins to spread to other nearby rooms, moving to the upper floors and roof. Among the main ways for the expansion of a fire, in addition to the penetration of flame and combustion products through window and door openings, it should be noted such factors that contribute to the spread of fire, such as hatches leading to the attic or roof, insufficiently securely closed elevator shafts and channels in walls with laid in them with cables. To securely close these openings and provide protection from high temperatures open flame, a fire-resistant product such as a fire hatch is installed.

Such a fire hatch leading to the attic is capable of quite long time prevent fire from entering truss system or roofing material. It should be noted that a well-closed fire hatch is an almost completely sealed barrier. This prevents smoke from entering carbon monoxide and other combustion products to other adjacent rooms through a ventilation or cable duct, attic floor or elevator shaft.

The design and features of the fire hatch

The most common fire hatch for roof access has a fire rating of EI 60, which indicates that this design in case of fire, it can withstand the effects of an open flame for at least 60 minutes. In this case, the temperature of the hatch on the side opposite to the fire will not exceed +100 ˚С.

Structurally, such a hatch consists of two metal components with the same fire-resistant properties: boxes (frames) and hatch panels. They are usually made from bent sheets metal with a thickness of at least 1.5-2.0 mm. The empty cavities of the hatch sash and the box are filled with non-combustible basalt (mineral) slabs. To increase the level of fire resistance, they are also impregnated with a special solution. Mandatory fire hatches are equipped with hinges, door fittings and locks that remain functional at high temperatures.
