Map of resorts and beaches in the UAE

Beach holidays in Dubai

Where is it better to relax in the UAE if you want to combine a beach holiday with shopping and excursions? Dubai is a universal city, it fit better everything, especially if you are there for the first time. It is convenient to go on excursions to other emirates, and in the city itself there is something to see on our own - we visited the beaches, Deira and the Old City, the singing fountains and the Dubai Mall, and the aquarium. In Dubai, you can live with a different budget - from quite modest to luxurious.

Shopping in Dubai is wonderful, there are a lot of shopping centers. In addition to the famous Dubai Mall (it can be considered as a separate attraction), visit Dubai Marina Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Outlet Mall Dubai, as well as the markets in Deira.

For those who care about living by the sea, we advise you to settle in Jumeirah - this is where the cool long beaches are. Jumeirah is home to the Burj Al Arab Sail Hotel and the Atlantis Water Park Hotel. Another beach area in Dubai is Marina Beach, local Manhattan. Expensive yachts, glass skyscrapers, very beautiful.

When asked where to relax in the UAE with a child, the answer is the same - it is best in Dubai. There are good beaches, and the entrance to the water is smooth, and the infrastructure is developed. There are water parks and amusement parks for children - Wild Wadi and Wonderland.

Dubai Mall. The famous aquarium can be viewed for free, but only partially, from the outside.

Interesting video! TV presenter and blogger Anton Ptushkin gives a video tour of rich life in Dubai:

Beach holidays in Abu Dhabi

Some believe that in the UAE it is better to relax in the capital - Abu Dhabi. In many ways, it resembles Dubai: the same ultra-modern city with skyscrapers, there are also good beaches and shopping centers, you can go on excursions.

If you just want to lazily lie on the beach, then Abu Dhabi has everything for this. The beaches are good and suitable even for small children.

What to do and what to see? Be sure to visit the sixth largest mosque in the world, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque. This marble shrine of 82 domes and 1,000 columns can accommodate more than 40,000 worshipers. With children, go to Ferrari World, Al Mushrif Children's Garden and Hili Fun City amusement parks, as well as Waterworld water park - a lot of fun and delight are guaranteed!

Beach holidays in Sharjah

Some tourists believe that in the UAE at sea it is better to relax in the emirate of Sharjah. This is the cultural center of the country and an ideal place for a measured family vacation. There are no noisy entertainments here, as in Dubai, but there is a lot of greenery and excellent beaches. It is also cheaper to live in Sharjah, and it takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to get to Dubai by bus or taxi! True, there may be traffic jams in the morning and evening, keep this in mind.

The beaches are clean and the entrance to the sea is smooth. The bottom is sandy and gently sloping, so you can relax in Sharjah even with baby- however, as almost everywhere in the UAE.

However, there are strict laws in Sharjah - you can sunbathe in a swimsuit only on hotel beaches, where the entrance is paid if you do not live in this hotel. Men are not allowed on public beaches on Mondays.

Alcohol is also prohibited, but you can drink in hotels. For some, this is a plus.

What to see? This is the oldest emirate, so there are many museums - archaeological, ethnographic, historical. For children - Al Majas Green Park, Desert Park, National Park, Adventureland themed, oceanarium and water park.

Beach holidays in Fujairah

This is where it is better to relax in the UAE for families with children or lovers of solitude! The emirate of Fujairah is very, even too calm and quiet - mass tourism has not yet reached here and there is no noisy entertainment. But in the capital of the emirate and in the resorts near it, there are many good hotels, including those with all-inclusive meals.

It is worth going to Fujairah only for the sake of a beach holiday, snorkeling and diving. The emirate has wide and clean sandy beaches - all belong to hotels. The best beaches are in the north, where it is also better to snorkel and dive. Tourists prefer the beaches of Al Aqah Beach, Dibba Al Fujairah and Shark Island. The climate is milder, and you can relax at any time of the year, except for summer.

What to see? See the fort and Old city, Fujairah Museum and Madhab Folk Park, Mosque and

Heritage Village. Visit gardens, waterfalls and healing springs.

Beach holidays in Ajman

Ajman is an alternative to beach Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Yes, there are no amazing skyscrapers, grandiose mosques and amusement parks here. However, if you just want to relax calmly and relatively inexpensively in the UAE by the sea, then this emirate is for you.

The beaches are clean with fine white sand. Private closed beaches are well cleaned, they have all the infrastructure. Lots of hotels, cafes and restaurants.

Another advantage is that laws are not as strict as in Sharjah, plus you can buy alcohol in a bar, restaurant or shop.

Things to do? The list of entertainment is scarce: go to the historical museum and the ancient fort, admire the mosques and the shipyard, visit camel races and mineral springs. If you get bored, go to Dubai or Sharjah - they are nearby.

Beach holidays in Ras Al Khaimah

In this unpopular with tourists, but very colorful emirate of the UAE, you can have a good rest - here the same long beaches as elsewhere in the Persian Gulf. And also - a beautiful canyon of the Hajar Mountains, sand dunes, desert villages, ancient valleys (wadis) with oases and archaeological sites, mangroves and picturesque hills.

Unfortunately, steel in the UAE in last years a regular occurrence.

On November 17, 2013, a storm hit. IN different places The coast received 80 to 190 millimeters of rain. Schools and colleges have closed. Dubai was even going to cancel the Dubai Airshow. The hardest hit were Fujairah and Ras al-Khaimah. Roads, houses and parks flooded. One person was killed - Lieutenant Hassan Rashid Al-Shamili, his car was washed away by a stream of water.

In 2014, on March 25 and 26, the storm hit Dubai and Sharjah. Roads were flooded and drivers took 3-4 hours to get home instead of the usual 30-40 minutes. A huge traffic jam has formed on the Sheikh Zayed Road between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

In 2016, on March 9, a downpour in Dubai. The movement of cars in the city almost stopped. Almost 300 millimeters of rain fell.

In 2017, on March 24, storms hit all the emirates of the Persian Gulf coast. Wind up to 75 kilometers per hour, 95 millimeters of precipitation fell. The Desert Warrior Challenge stage was postponed in Ajman, Etihad planes could not fly to Abu Dhabi, and many kilometers of traffic jams formed in Dubai. The level of flooding of roads in Dubai can be seen in the photo above, click on the photo to enlarge.

The trend is frightening

Storms have hit the UAE every year since 2013. It is impossible to predict the moment of a storm, and accordingly, it is difficult to plan a vacation in such a way as to avoid it. Fortunately, the storm will not spoil the holiday completely, but will only “eat” a few days.

The Emirates themselves are very afraid of these hurricanes. It is not surprising, because they rarely see rain, a banal puddle is an extraordinary phenomenon for them, they are afraid of ordinary lightning. In addition, they have no experience of driving on wet roads, hence a large number of accidents.

Snow in the UAE

snow in United Arab Emirates seen three times in the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah in the modern era.

On December 30, 2004, snow fell for the first time. Then it caused an extensive reaction in the press in the UAE and the world. Sheikh Saud ibn Saqr Al Qasimi (the ruler of Ras al Khaimah) personally climbed the mountains to look at the snow and took some to show his subjects.

Snow in 2004 fell as a result of a sharp cold snap, which in the rest of the emirates led to disastrous consequences. More than 500 road accidents have been reported in Dubai, including one fatal.

On February 5, 2017, there was the last case, snow fell on Mount Jabel Zhais. A huge car line of those wishing to look at the snow lined up to the mountain. The authorities did not let people on the mountain, but some Emiratis managed to get there and ride the snow slides, as reported by CNN.

In ancient times, the climate on the territory of the modern UAE was not so harsh, it was similar to the Mediterranean. Ancient agricultural civilizations even existed here - the cultures of Hafeet, Umm-an-Nar, Wadi Suk. Read about them in detail in our article "";

It is sad

We wish that your vacation in the UAE is not spoiled by storms and storms, and read our interesting articles about this country links below).

In the current year? Let's figure it out. Over the past decades, the Emirates (there are seven in total) have become very popular with Russian tourists due to high level service, clean sandy beaches and multi-storey shopping malls. Significant oil reserves have made this country one of the richest in the world.

UAE in winter

During the winter months it is set comfortable temperature: +24-26oC. Bathing water is cool: +18-20 oC. Sometimes there is a strong wind and sandstorms. The annual maximum precipitation falls on February. Fujairah, located in the eastern part of the country, has a milder climate and slightly more rain.

It can be called average: a trip will cost more than to Egypt or Tunisia, but at the same time cheaper than to the Dominican Republic or Thailand. Tours for St. It is better to buy Valentine in advance due to high demand.

Surprisingly, fans of skiing and snowboarding will also find entertainment in the hot Emirates. With 5 slopes, all the necessary equipment and even live spruces, Ski Dubai is a ski resort all year round. According to travelers, winter is a good time for sightseeing programs, walks along the Dubai Creek and trips to the desert.

Deserves special attention. Here you will find the tallest skyscraper Burj Khalifa, a free show of singing fountains and winter sales in shopping malls. The variety of the flight program to the United Arab Emirates and the not very long flight (about 5 hours) make weekend tours popular, so those who wish can safely go here to celebrate February 23rd.

In December and January, there are huge sales with discounts up to 80% and lotteries where there is an opportunity to win a sports car.

UAE in spring

March and early April are the right time for the beach season in the Emirates: the average temperature is +30 oC, but there is no heat yet. On March 8 and the May holidays, the demand for the Emirates is traditionally increased. It is better to take sightseeing tours in March, as exhausting heat sets in closer to May, especially for desert safari. The advantage is that the water warms up to +28 oC, and it is very comfortable to swim.

UAE in summer

If you decide to go to the Emirates in 2020, you should postpone your trip until autumn, especially if you are traveling with children, as it is very stuffy on the coast from June to September. And even taking into account the dry climate, the time for excursions and swimming is not entirely suitable.

Also, the holiday seasons in the UAE and the peculiarities of the climate should be taken into account by older people who do not tolerate stuffiness. The thermometers in the summer sometimes rise to record highs of 50 degrees. And even the waters of the Persian Gulf do not save from the heat.

If you still find yourself in the Emirates in the summer, you can go to Dreamland or Wild Wadi water parks, Wonderland amusement park or Lost Chambers Aquarium.

UAE in autumn

The period from October to the end of November - best time for a trip to the UAE in 2020. You will escape from the dank autumn rains and have a great time, especially on the November holidays. This is also a good time for scuba diving, especially in the eastern part. In autumn, the air temperature reaches +30-33 oC, and water - +25 oC.

Many families with small children choose for: here are fine sandy beaches with gentle slopes, crystal pure water, and prices are significantly lower than in Dubai or. At the end of November, the water gets chilly, but many hotels have heated pools.

The sunny city of Dubai is ready to hospitably welcome visitors at any time of the year. In the UAE, the water temperature does not drop below +20°C, and numerous bazaars and malls work regardless of the season. Therefore, the flow of tourists never stops all year round. But still, beach holidays, excursions and shopping in Dubai are not always equally good, which means that before traveling to the United Arab Emirates, you should definitely study the weather conditions in this metropolis every month.

High season

It is believed that it is best to go to the Emirates from autumn to spring (October - April). At the same time, autumn and spring months are more suitable for swimming - October, November, March, April. In winter, you can also swim in the sea, but at this time it is often cool and quite windy. However, for residents of our latitudes, winter in the UAE seems unusually warm, so many go on Christmas holidays to visit festivals, entertainment centers, exhibitions and do cheap shopping in Dubai. After all, it is in December - January that the next seasonal discounts are in local boutiques.

low season

From June to the end of August in Dubai low season. This is due to the fact that the summer in the United Arab Emirates is very hot, even the locals at this time try to go out less often. The air temperature in summer warms up to +50°С, sand - +70°С, water - up to +38°С. That is, even from swimming in the sea to get a feeling of freshness will not work.

The ideal leisure in Dubai in the low season is visiting the many entertainment centers, aquariums, water park, as well as skiing at the Ski Dubai ski resort.

Tours to Dubai in the summer are the cheapest. But if you want to save money on a trip to the legendary metropolis, you should not forget one more feature of the country. It is in June that Muslims celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. During Ramadan, tourists are advised to show respect for the locals and be more restrained in emotions and clothing. Many places of entertainment and restaurants are closed until sunset during Lent, so for lunch you will have to look for an institution that serves visitors behind a special screen.

Should I go to the UAE in May or September

May and September in Dubai are the months between high and low seasons. These months are quite hot, but much more comfortable than from June to August. This is an ideal time to visit shopping and entertainment centers, evening romantic excursions. People who tolerate well summer heat can fully swim in the sea.

The air temperature is warmed up to + 38 ° С - + 40 ° С, the sea - up to + 30 ° С, however, at night there comes a real coolness - the air cools down to + 26 ° С.
In general, September and May cannot be called successful for a trip to Dubai. Heat air, high humidity(sometimes on the coast this figure reaches 90 - 95%), strong winds - all this makes staying in a southern country not very comfortable.

beach holiday

Most tourists go to the UAE just for the sake of relaxing by the sea. It is best to sunbathe and swim in spring and autumn. For people who do not tolerate heat well, it is better to take a ticket for November or March. During these months the air temperature reaches +25°С - +30°С, water - +23°С - +25°С. Moreover, these months are transitional, that is, if at the beginning of March the weather can be called refreshing, then at the end of the same month there is already a real heat.

Those who love the heat can go to Dubai in early October or closer to May. At this time, very warm water awaits them, a lot of sun and the absence of unbearable heat.

In the low season, swimming in the sea is more problematic, since the air temperature of +40°C does not allow you to stay outside for a long time, and the water temperature of +38°C does not give you a feeling of coolness. If, nevertheless, a vacation is planned for this time, you should not completely abandon a beach holiday. During the day, you can ride a comfortable air-conditioned bus to local shopping malls and other attractions, and in the morning set aside a couple of hours for swimming in the sea. At 8 o'clock in the morning the sun is still not very high, and the water in the sea after the night is not too hot.

The best time for excursions

For excursions to Dubai, it is traditionally recommended to go to the UAE from mid-October to mid-April. At this time, it is comfortable to move around the city by public transport or car, and you can also walk around the market, the Old Town, visit open-air museums.

It is especially pleasant to walk around the metropolis in winter, when the daytime temperature is between +20°С - +25°С, which means that you can safely put on a T-shirt or long-sleeved shirt so that you can go to the mosque.

Arriving in Dubai in the summer, you should focus on organized excursions, which are carried out on buses with good air conditioners as well as evening walks. For example, the show of dancing fountains near the Burj Khalifa takes place only after 19-00 pm, everyone can enjoy the amazing spectacle for 3-4 hours. Romantic tours of the Dubai Creek are also recommended only after sunset. In the evening, a pleasure boat offers an excellent view of the night metropolis, which will remain in your memory forever.

When to go to Dubai for shopping

You can go shopping in the UAE at any time. Throughout the year, many sellers and shopping centers arrange various sales, and it is customary to bargain for any chosen product.

But there are also seasons when massive discounts await buyers:

  • Month of Ramadan (the fast of Ramadan takes place every year in different time, tentatively, this is the end of May - June). It is believed that prices fall the most during Ramadan.
  • Shopping Festival (January - February). At this time, the whole emirate is celebrating, various drawings, lotteries take place everywhere, fireworks are launched in the evenings, and prices in shops fall by 60 - 70%.
  • Dubai Summer Surprises ("Summer surprises"). This shopping holiday takes place in the summer, each time at a different time.

Thinking about what to buy in Dubai, it is worth considering that it is profitable to buy expensive products with shares - gold, furs, branded clothes, etc. Prices for inexpensive goods are reduced, but not so significantly.

Thus, a trip to Dubai can be successful at any time of the year. After all, in this pompous metropolis you can find something to do, regardless of weather conditions. Even in the hottest weather, you can always take shelter in a store with powerful air conditioning or spend a day at the spa or even snowboarding. Shopping in Dubai will be a special pleasure, because during the low season, local merchants arrange shopping festivals and promotions that are beneficial for buyers.

Emirates in summer, autumn, winter and spring. Weather, can I swim?

It is warm here all year round, and in other months it is even above +40 degrees. Most of, almost 80% of this country is sand and desert. But the remaining part of the chic city, unique buildings and new wonders of the world. Guess which country we are talking about? Yes, this is the Emirates, a country that is constantly in the TOP 5 countries in terms of attractiveness among tourists. Let's talk about when it is better to relax in the UAE, at what time of the year and where. Consider each season, find out what the temperature is in the Emirates in winter and summer, find out when there are sandstorms and whether it is worth visiting the country in the heat at +40 degrees.

Winter in the UAE - the lowest temperatures.

When there is snow in Russia, there are severe frosts at night, then the sun shines in the Emirates. Although even in this country, winter is the coldest time of the year.
In December, it does not snow here, but the sun shines. The average temperature in cities is +26 degrees. At the same time, the water is quite warm and not lower than +23 degrees. Sometimes cold winds blow, which make the temperature feel around +15, and then swimming is not comfortable, but you can sunbathe.

January is the first month of the year, and it is also the coldest in the country. During the day, the temperature drops to +15 +17 degrees, and at night it can be +10. At the same time, the sea is warm, and there are not very many people who want to swim in it. Winds begin to blow stronger, often northerly winds, which lower the temperature. But still, in January there are a lot of tourists in the Emirates, they come here for Christmas and for the new year.

February is almost no different from January. The air temperature is from +17 to +20, sometimes up to +24, but this is closer to the end of the month. Sea +21 +23 and some tourists start swimming in it. The cold winds are ending, and there is little to interfere with being on the beach. Although there are fewer tourists than in January, the holidays are over, and the weather is still not very good for relaxing on the beach.

Spring in the UAE - and the beach, and excursions.

March is already warm, and hot for some. The average temperature during the day is about +27 degrees, the sea warmed up to +24. With such indicators, the Emirates are becoming very attractive for tourists. Although not everyone dares to swim in the sea. More often March is suitable for shopping and excursions.

But April is the perfect month for a beach holiday. During the day, the air warms up to +33, and the sea becomes gorgeous +25 and above. The winds start to blow again, but they are already warm and bring hot air into the region. Therefore, relaxing on the beach is becoming fashionable. Tourists are in no hurry to get out of the water, refreshing themselves in it.

With the onset of May, a real heat comes to the country. The temperature does not drop below +38 degrees, and it is very difficult to be in the sun. The sea is not lower than +29 degrees, swimming in it is a pleasure. Just do not forget to wet your head with water, otherwise sunstroke will not bypass you. In May, tourists, for the most part, begin to relax in the UAE in the evening. After sunset, the long-awaited coolness sets in, you can take a leisurely walk, visit sights or be on the beach.

Summer in the UAE is hot, hot, hot!

It is not worth visiting the UAE in the summer. Even discounts under 70% for holidays are not worth spoiled health and spoiled rest.
From the very first month, the temperature soars to +40 degrees. At night, the temperature does not drop much and stays at +31 +33 degrees. The sea is like tea in temperature, and you can get burned. The waters of the bay are warmed up to +33, and in some places even up to +35.

July and August are like twins. The daytime temperature is above +44 degrees, the sea is also +33 +35. Being in the sun during the day is simply impossible. High humidity does not allow walking the streets, and the scorching sun takes away the last strength.

During the summer, air conditioners are everywhere in the UAE. Even in buses they work at full capacity. This is another disadvantage of resting at this time of the year in the country. Even after a short walk down the street, you will get so wet from the humidity that when you enter an air-conditioned room, you will be cold. Often, visitors from such a temperature difference suffer from tonsillitis and other diseases. So think about whether you need to visit Dubai in the summer. The beaches here are empty, no one wants to swim. But tourists are very willing to go to shopping centers. In the summer, the cities of the Emirates become deserted.

Autumn in the UAE is very diverse.

Autumn in the country is very similar to our autumn - heat, rain, cold snap.
In September, the recently completed summer is still felt here. Daytime temperatures often rise to +38, and nights around +29. But there are tourists on the beaches. Toward evening they become even more. Many rush into the water to wash off the sweat of the day.
October is very similar to April. The air is not so hot, around +32 +34, and the water in the sea is not lower than +27 degrees. This is a great time to visit the UAE for beach holidays and sightseeing tours. beautiful places countries. But do not flatter yourself too much, it is autumn and here it is autumn. Therefore, at any moment the weather can present an unpleasant surprise for tourists.

Now you will know one important information which will surprise you. In November, there are 3-4 rainy days in the Emirates - and this is the rainiest month of the year in the area! Surprised? If you are not afraid of "such" amount of rain, then you can safely go on vacation to a beautiful country. Moreover, the air temperature during the day is about +31 degrees, and the sea will be warm and about +28 degrees. And if it rains on the beach, then don't worry - the rain is warm here, you will even be pleased to walk under it.

Let's summarize.

If you want to comfortably relax on the beaches of the UAE, then you have four months for this: March and April in spring, as well as October and November in autumn. It is these months that are the “softest” in terms of climate in the country.
It is not recommended to visit the Emirates during the summer months. The air temperature rises over +45, and the water in the sea is about to boil, reaching +35. At the same time, air conditioners work everywhere, and you can easily catch a sore throat and a hundred other diseases.
As for the winter months, they are suitable for excursions and shopping. Swimming in the sea will not work, always in the pool at the hotel, please.
As for the prices for holidays, here they are almost always the same. There are discounts only in summer, as there are almost no tourists in the country. There are also discounts in the winter months, when the country has sales festivals, but they are not so big.
