Where is the best place to relax by the sea in the UAE? UAE resorts. Beach holidays in Abu Dhabi

United United Arab Emirates captivated by the unique unity of the traditional Arab way of life, European service and the sharp contrast between large cities and the harsh desert terrain. However, before you go on a tour, it is better to decide on the best place to relax and how to save money in the UAE. It is better to choose an emirate based on personal preferences. If necessary, a tourist can always change the noisy and crowded Dubai to the calm and patriarchal Sharjah.

Abu Dhabi

The political and federal center of the country is known for its grandiose business deals. It, like the nearby YaS Island, is no less famous as a holiday destination for guests of the country. Respectability and variety of leisure places, this is how tourists briefly describe their stay in this emirate. The theme park of Italian supercars Ferrari is available to vacationers, which not only hosts one of the Grand Prix, but also many attractions that allow you to drive these famous cars. In addition, those interested in the history of this brand can visit the museum, which displays all the cars created since the 50s of the 20th century.

Ferrari Park in Abu Dhabi

Interesting places for a family holiday will be both the beaches on Yas Island and one of the best zoos in the world, with children's animation and special entertainment for young visitors. Well-equipped city beaches, including separate ones for men and women, are not suitable for married couples who do not want to be separated. Therefore, Yas Island is better suited for a beach holiday, to which various ships depart at short intervals.

Taking an evening promenade along the Carniche embankment or climbing the Eye of the Emirates Ferris wheel, visiting shopping centers and nightclubs, staying in hotels with exorbitant hotel room prices and the same luxury, you will not only everywhere smell the big money that permeates everything around you , but you will also feel like a real sheikh.

Dubai

Many people, both locals and tourists, call this emirate an island of the Western world surrounded by Muslim traditions. Never tired of surprising holidaymakers, this emirate has become a Mecca for both shopping lovers and entertainment seekers. Shopping enthusiasts are provided with a free shuttle that picks up shopaholics from the hotel and heads along a route that includes the city's largest shopping malls.

Burj Khalifa in Dubai

For those wishing to splash in the warm waters of the Persian Gulf and soak up the Middle Eastern sun, the Marina area is at your service, with its beach parks, which provide everything for a comfortable stay and plenty of entertainment for children and parents. But if you like a relaxing beach holiday, then change the warm sand on Friday and Saturday and find another place for leisure. These weekends, all beaches without exception are crowded due to official holidays.

Sharjah

For vacationers who are less wasteful and more relaxed in manners and preferences, the emirate of Sharjah opens its doors. Due to the smaller size and popularity of this part of the United Emirates among guests of the country, the cost of living, especially if you stay in a hotel on the first or second line, is significantly lower than in neighboring Dubai.

In addition, the emirate is famous for its strict behavior and adherence to Muslim traditions, less entertainment, but greater comfort and patriarchal sedateness in the environment. If you get tired of taking a break from the crowd and want to shake things up, then any taxi or bus will take you to the center of entertainment created by the Arabs in just twenty minutes.

Ajman

This emirate is more loyal to drinkers, but most of all it is suitable for people who want to get acquainted with the past of this Middle Eastern country. Locals preserve the memory of their past through stories and share their history with visitors from other countries in museums. The exhibitions feature ancient artifacts that testify to the rich history and collection of ancient weapons with which the ancestors of modern Arabs defended their independence and defended their own honor.

In addition to museums, the emirate of Ajman is known for the friendliness of local residents and the atmosphere of hospitality they create. These features of the area fully compensate for the lack of metropolitan glitter, shopping bustle and skyscrapers, which are located in the more popular holiday destinations in the Emirates.

Located in the northern part of the country, this emirate will become optimal choice for people sensitive to heat or dry air. The average annual temperature and air dryness in this area are lower than in other emirates. Since this part of the country appears relatively little in the offers of travel agencies, there is the most optimal balance between the cost of accommodation and entertainment and their quality and variety. It is in this emirate that there are villas of local rich people who chose the area not for advertising purposes. Located on the territory of the emirate, they are ready to offer the concept of All inclusive service to foreigners vacationing there.

Despite its little popularity among vacationers, in terms of the number of various entertainments, Ras al Khaimah can compete with the more “European” Dubai and fashionable Abu Dhabi. Hiking in mountainous areas for lovers of “harsh” recreation, diving for fans of extreme sports, cultural monuments that are the same age Ancient Egypt for history buffs and visits to local villages for lovers of Arab culture, delicious dishes for gourmets and much more, the emirate is ready to offer its guests. In addition to entertainment, people come here to improve their health in the hot mineral springs of the emirate.

Fujairah

This youngest emirate among the rest is also not ignored by guests from other countries. Its protection from the hot desert winds and the 90-kilometer coastline, turned into a continuous beach with gentle days, create all the conditions for a comfortable family holiday on the beach. The entertainment offered by the locals is influenced by their traditional occupation and landscape, as they are known as the most skilled fishermen among the inhabitants of the entire United Emirates.

In addition to diving, where divers will find almost ideal conditions to explore the diversity of the underwater world, vacationers can take part in fishing or night crabbing. The prey they catch can be served on the table at the slightest hint. An alternative to a beach holiday is a visit to Ain Al Madhab Gardens, Ain Al Ghamour Hot Springs or Al Wurrayah Waterfalls.

Umm Al Quwain

The most modest emirate in size is also ready to receive guests. The cleanliness and size of the beaches will delight people who come with the whole family, the endless groves date palms will give you a relaxed holiday in the Arabian style, and the colorful sand dunes will refute the stereotype about the “boring” and monotony of the desert. In addition to admiring the surroundings, you will be offered a visit to the Dreamland water park, the local dolphinarium, or a ride on another traditional Arab “transport” - horses.

The small number of foreigners is explained by the little attention that residents of the emirate pay to advertising the area as a holiday destination. The tourism infrastructure here is rather developing, but this does not mean worse conditions for relax. Situated between the commercial and bustling Dubai and the official and fashionable Abu Dhabi, this emirate guarantees the same level of comfort as in more famous tourist destinations. In addition, the tiny size of the emirate itself and its favorable location will allow you to visit any of the emirates within a few minutes if necessary.

The variety of entertainment venues, Arab imagination and ingenuity, as well as the rapid growth and development of the country make it impossible to give a definitive answer to the question of where better rest to the UAE. Each of the guests of this Middle Eastern country will find his own corner in which he will forget about the worries that previously accompanied him and plunge into a world of calm and tranquility. Come to the United Arab Emirates and find a place where you will return more than once.

Children don't go for a walk in Africa! It's better to fly. And not to Africa, but to the Emirates. It's hot there, white sand, the sea, and most importantly - safety top level. The water can be drunk from the tap; there are no traces of volcanoes. Well, the chances of seeing a domestic leopard are higher than anywhere else! 🙂

To the Emirates with descendants: when and where is the best time to go? We collected good accommodation options and monitored prices adjusted for holidays in the UAE with children.

Essentially, the Emirates is a desert. It has been upgraded and made ultra-modern, but the air outside the beaches and air-conditioned hotels is dry, and the daytime temperature rises to a scorching 43°C. This should be taken into account when planning a trip with kids.

...and learn more about:

Sharjah

An option for those who want to eat fish without choking on the bone. Beaches, half an hour from Dubai. What else?

Our friends chose Sharjah (4* hotel) for a trip with their baby in October and were pleased. The hotel is located on the border between the emirates, and traveling to Dubai every day is not at all stressful.

Ras Al Khaimah

You see, the sidewalk turns left, there is no crossing across the road and there is no path ahead either? And if you need it directly? :) So often in the Emirates

The resort is located in the north of the country; Dubai is about two hours away by car or bus.

Still, you shouldn’t walk the streets drunk - you’ll be fined. Despite open sale in shops, in many hotels drinking is prohibited alcoholic drinks. In a number of establishments, girls are given a separate menu, which does not include a bar menu or hookah.

Fujairah

The climate in Fujairah is somewhat different from other emirates: humid air comes from the Indian Ocean, and mountains on the mainland protect the desert from the land. Thanks to this, according to some sources, you can survive here at +50⁰С (but it’s better not to try).

Pros: Minuses:
+ “Living” sea – reviews from tourists often compare the local underwater world with the Egyptian one. And although the latter wins, such competition says a lot. Sharks, starfish, fish, turtles and other living creatures. And everything is not behind the glass of the oceanarium, but nearby, at arm’s length!
+ The Gulf of Oman is a little warmer, you can swim here even in winter: +22.5⁰С. Not everyone, but those who like cool water – very much so
+ Nice beachfront resorts
- Far from Dubai (160 km), it will be difficult with a small child
- back side interesting scuba diving: jellyfish, sea urchins– potential danger for children

Prices for tours to the UAE in 2020

The flight to Dubai from Moscow and Kazan is approximately the same, about 5 hours

Traveling independently in the Emirates is an expensive pleasure. Prices for tours in the UAE are much more encouraging. Especially ahead of the relatively low season in winter.

  • Dubai

✓ Trips to Dubai for 7 days in 2020 start from 55,000 rubles for two with departure from Moscow

✓ When traveling with a child from 2 to 11 years old - budget tours from 80,000 rubles

✓ A trip to Dubai with children under 2 years old costs from 70,000 rubles

    Sharjah

A popular destination among Russian tourists.

✓ A week for two from Moscow – from 65,000 rubles

✓ Sharjah with children – from 85,000 rubles, if the child is from 2 to 11 years old

✓ From 65,000 rubles, if the child is under 2 years old

    Ras Al Khaimah

✓ Relax for two in Ras al-Khaimah for a week – from 60,000 rubles, departure from Moscow

✓ Tours with children in the UAE to this emirate cost from 80,000 rubles if the child is from 2 to 11 years old

✓ From 75,000 rubles – for infants up to 2 years old

    Fujairah

✓ Fujairah is generous with last-minute tours for two - from 60,000 rubles for two from Moscow for 7 days

✓ With a child 2-11 years old: from 80,000 rubles

    ✓ From 0 to 2 years: from 70,000 rubles

You need to understand that with a small difference in prices between resorts, in Dubai for that kind of money you will have to live in very dubious places. And in Ras al-Khaimah or Sharjah it can be 4*, under favorable circumstances.

But here’s a little travel hack that we also use.
If you are ready to live ≈ 10 km from the beach and travel to the sea by transfer from the hotel, then in Dubai you can find tours to very decent business hotels for reasonable money. They are usually concentrated in business districts like al-Barsha (we’ll talk about those where we stayed below).
How to find? Go to tour search engines, sort by “cheap to expensive” and look for chain hotels such as Hilton, DoubleTree, Holiday Inn, Novotel, Ramada, etc.:

What can you do? Entertainment

Laguna Waterpark by Meraas (next to our favorite La Mer beach)

UAE resorts for families with children are comfortable not only because of the sea. Entertainment from 0 to infinity is at the highest level here. We thought that it would be logical to make a division by age - after all, a two-year-old will not be allowed on the slides in the water park, and a thirteen-year-old will obviously get bored at Legoland.

  • With kids

    • (Dubai) - Lego-themed amusement park. Cool rides and a small water park. Parents say that it is entertaining for children under 5-6 years of age.
    • (Dubai) - harmless slides + themed areas with your favorite cartoon characters = enthusiastic children and slightly bored, but happy parents for their child. Cool amusement park!
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 275 aed (4600 rubles) for everyone older
    • Al Ain Zoo - simply because here you can feed a giraffe (30 aed) and stay with lemurs (40 aed).
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 10.5 aed (175 rubles) for 3-12 years, 31.5 aed (525 rubles) for everyone older
    • Garden Glow (Dubai) is a popular place in the evenings; glowing figures of birds, dinosaurs, flowers, and trees attract children.
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 65 aed (1100 rubles) for everyone older

    With kids

Where to go with children aged 2-10 years?

    • Garden of Flowers (Dubai) - no, this is not a botanical garden, but a huge area with figures made of flowers (for example, an airplane in the Emirates livery).
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 40 aed (670 rubles) for 3-12 years, 55 aed (920 rubles) for everyone older
    • Butterfly Garden (Dubai) - any child will like this: the butterflies are bright, colorful, large, and sit on hands and heads.
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 55 aed (920 rubles) for everyone older
    • (Dubai) - another theme park: there is a Marvel zone and a dinosaur zone. Parents note the advantage of the park - it is completely covered, and the heat does not interfere with the fun.
Tickets: 299 aed (5000 rubles) for everyone
    • The La Perle by Dragon show is an impressive performance with acrobats, aqua shows, special effects, music - just wow!
Tickets: 355 aed (5900 rubles) for everyone over 2 years old

With a teenager + water parks

    • (Abu Dhabi) - a Ferrari-style theme park is one of the must-see entertainment programs in the Emirates, along with the Burj Khalifa. And it doesn’t matter whether you are with children or not - the adults themselves really like it. Oh yes, and take your license with you, because here you can ride a Ferrari :)
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 230 aed (3850 rubles) for everyone under 130 cm, 295 aed (4900 rubles) for those taller
    • (Abu Dhabi) - the UAE has everything: including “branches” of famous Western amusement parks. By the way, one of the new ones in Abu Dhabi: it opened in the summer of 2018. Made based on cartoons and films - for example, Tom and Jerry, Batman, Scooby-Doo.
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 230 aed (3850 rubles) for everyone under 110 cm, 295 aed (4900 rubles) for those taller

Almost all UAE resorts for families with children are located in close proximity to a water park of one kind or another. Each has water slides for visitors of all ages. You can choose any one.

    • Aquaventure Waterpark and Aquarium (Dubai) - the most popular water park in the city, beats out another Dubai park in that it also includes a visit to the aquarium for almost the same price. Moreover, it is located on Palma, in the Atlantis Hotel - also a local attraction.
Tickets: 235 aed (3900 rubles) for everyone under 120 cm, 289 aed (4800 rubles) for those taller
    • Wild Wadi Water Park (Dubai) is a little more convenient in location for tourists, but the park itself is smaller. Plus, there aren't that many people.
Tickets: up to 2 years free, 249 aed (4200 rubles) for everyone under 110 cm, 299 aed (5000 rubles) for those taller
    • (Abu Dhabi) - They say this is the best water park in the whole UAE! Modern, big and safe. The only negative is that it is located in Abu Dhabi, and “Dubai” tourists will have to get there by transfer.
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 210 aed (3500 rubles) for everyone under 110 cm, 250 aed (4200 rubles) for those taller

In general, the standard set of activities in the Emirates includes the following:

  • - just “ah-ah!” These are our emotions about the desert (if you are seeing it for the first time) and about jeep racing on the dunes. We would only advise teenagers, because the trip is really extreme and motion sickness.
  • Climbing the Burj Khalifa - follow the link for our text about everything you need to know and where it is more profitable to buy tickets (including the aquarium in the Dubai Mall).
  • The fountain show at the Dubai Mall is beautiful, yes, the fountains soar high. But the crowd is terrible... It takes place every half hour from 18:00.
  • Promenade Dubai Marina in the evening
  • - if you are ready for a long excursion with your child. The overview necessarily includes a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, and then the program varies - maybe Yas Island with Ferrari World and the Emirates Palace Hotel, or maybe the Sheikh Qasr al-Watan Palace.
  • - an express tour of the Emirates, capturing the features of each.

All links lead to sites where we book excursions or entrance tickets ourselves. These are large services with a good reputation, and they are great for the UAE, because 1) excursions from a tour operator are expensive, 2) it’s difficult to find an agency on the street, after all, this is not Turkey.

We tried everything from the list of standard entertainment - and took it online.

Food prices in the UAE

We really liked The Duchess cafe on La Mer promenade
(price of one dish - 50-70 dirhams)

On average, in the Emirates, lunch/dinner in a cafe will cost 120-150 dirhams for two (2000-2500 rubles). In Dubai it is a little more expensive, in Sharjah it is cheaper. Yes, an inexpensive tour does not mean that the costs on site will be small. It’s strange to see price tags at US levels in an Arab country.

Here are a few establishments we have checked with good European cuisine in the most expensive of all resorts - Dubai:

  1. Leopold(Dubai Marina) - there are breakfasts within 55 dirhams and a main menu: salads, bagels (delicious with salmon, 58 dirhams), pasta, pizza (take one for two).
  2. The Duchess(La Mer) - a beach restaurant with more or less prices: for 70-80 dirhams you can take one huge dish, enough for two adults; for 50-60 dirhams - pancakes.
  3. Nefertiti Restaurant(Burjuman metro station) – cuisine close to Russian: soups, cutlets, etc. When a child is picky about food and refuses to eat “overseas” dishes. A meal for two plus a small meal will fit within the budget of 100 dirhams, because it is located far from tourist locations.
  4. Afghan Khorasan Kabab(al-Safa) - a restaurant of Afghan cuisine with an inconvenient location, but from here - huge portions, tasty, budget-friendly. Dinner for two around 80 dirhams.

Many Russian tourists, “regulars” of the Emirates, recommend Afghan catering establishments as places to relax that are optimal in terms of tasty/inexpensive. Similar establishments in Lately there are quite a few in the UAE. They feed well and a lot, a lot.

  1. Bice Mare(Burj Khalifa) - restaurant with a view of the dancing fountains and Burj Khalifa. Mediterranean cuisine, the price tag is high, but tasty and beautiful. Dinner for two about 300 dirhams.
  2. Five Guys(Burj Khalifa) - fast food at its best: a terrace overlooking the tower and quality burgers (36 dirhams) with potatoes (16-26 dirhams).
  3. Paul(Emirates Mall or Dubai Mall) - you can have a substantial meal, or you can limit yourself to desserts, they are good here.

A lot of decent beaches designed for families with children belong to hotels on the first line. Almost everywhere there are playgrounds, and somewhere there are toys and water slides. Information about this is usually in the hotel descriptions.

But it’s hard to get an idea of the beaches in words, isn’t it? Therefore, watch our video from the last trip - here we show Marina Beach, Jumeirah and La Mer ↓

Is it worth going on holiday to the UAE with children? Which resort should you choose? We publish tips from tourists collected from the Internet and our personal recommendations after four trips.

➢ The trip should be planned for the velvet season. Suitable weather for swimming and sunbathing:

  • October
  • April

In summer it is VERY hot and stuffy. September and March - depending on your luck. Winter is ideal for excursions, swimming pools and seasoned swimmers in the sea!

➢ The UAE has its own peculiarities of recreation: in a number of emirates there is prohibition, nightlife stops after 23:00

➢ They love children here, the attitude is very good

➢ All the goods necessary for babies are presented in the assortment of any supermarket: diapers, milk, cereals, toys, etc.

➢ How to get around the city? In any emirate there is a taxi - this beige colour, it's official, with a taximeter inside. In Dubai, for example, for short trips of ≈ 10 km, it cost us 25-30 dirhams (400-500 rubles). Only in Dubai there is a metro, where a ticket for a travel card costs 3-5 dirhams (50-85 rubles). There are also buses, but we did not study the routes and prices.

➢ Car rental in the Emirates requires international rights. Necessarily! A proven rental service is Myrentacar (ours, Russian, working with local agencies as well).

➢ The Emirates is one of the safest countries to travel to. But even here you shouldn’t neglect good food, especially for a child.

➢ Cheaper holidays in Sharjah and Ras al-Khaimah. You can catch a great tour in Fujairah in winter
➢ Remember about consent to travel abroad if you send your child on vacation with his grandmother/sister/etc. (that is, without parents).

Well, a universal piece of advice: understanding what you want from your vacation (water parks and attractions, quiet walks, the beach in the morning and evening, malls and excursions) will help you decide on your place to stay and when to fly. The best holiday with children in the UAE is a pre-planned holiday!

UAE Map

Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the luxurious capital of the United Arab Emirates, which is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf among the endless sands of the desert. The city is unique in its combination of history and modernity - oriental bazaars coexist with modern universities, mosques with supermarkets, museums with entertainment complexes.

The large number of mosques in the city center is a reminder that Middle Eastern Manhattan, lined with skyscrapers and highways, is still part of the Muslim world.

The possibilities for excursions and entertainment here are truly enormous - the Sheikh's Palace, the old Al Husn Fort, the oasis city of Al Ain, the Al Ain Zoo and Aquarium, the Ferrari World theme park, the carpet and camel bazaars - this is just a small part of what is possible visit while in the largest and richest emirate of the country.

pros

  • Many attractions, interesting places and entertainment opportunities
  • The streets are very clean, as fines for throwing garbage are very high

Minuses

  • All hotels have views not of the sea, but of a narrow strip of water and nearby islands
  • Some city parks have a fee

Dubai

Dubai is the most famous city and emirate in the UAE. Everything here is the best - tall, big, expensive. The coastal waters of the resort are the site of the implementation of ambitious projects to create the man-made islands “Palm” and “Peace”. Although Dubai has a very colorful old quarter, a historical and ethnographic village and mosques, lovers of history and excursions will find it a bit boring here.

Dubai is interesting for shopping, which can be done both in ancient oriental bazaars and in ultra-modern shopping centers. In addition to shopping, the resort will impress with the architecture of skyscrapers and luxury hotels, as well as beaches with sand brought from Egypt.

pros

  • There is an opportunity to ski at any time of the year at the Ski Dubai complex
  • Relatively a large number of entertainment and attractions
  • Excellent transport system
  • Great shopping
  • Active nightlife

Minuses

  • On weekends there are many locals on the city beaches
  • Quite expensive

Sharjah

Sharjah has a unique location - access to two ocean bays: the Persian and Oman. In addition, the resort is convenient due to its close location to Dubai, which allows you to enjoy a peaceful family vacation and, if possible, visit the sights of a more famous neighbor or go to shopping malls at any time.

Sharjah is considered the cultural capital of the country - there is an archaeological museum, a cultural center, and the Koran monument, located in front of the largest King Faisal Mosque in the entire Middle East, which can accommodate 3,000 people. For the youngest travelers, there is the Al-Jazeera amusement park with a mini-zoo and swimming pools, as well as the Desert Park with a farm for children and a natural history museum.

pros

  • Life and hotels are cheaper than in nearby Dubai
  • No public transport

Minuses

  • Virtually no nightlife
  • Strict norms, laws and regulations, for example: swimming on beaches is possible only during daylight hours and in clothes that cover arms and legs; Violating this rule may result in you being taken to the police station.

Fujairah

The sandy landscapes so typical of the UAE are diluted in Fujairah by the Hajar Mountains and green oases. In this emirate, oil is not extracted, skyscrapers are not built - life here is measured and calm. This is the only resort that has access to the Indian Ocean.

Fujairah is famous for the best place for diving and snorkeling throughout the country. The underwater world of Shark Island is rich in lobsters, stingrays, and many exotic fish, and near the Musandam Peninsula you can find turtles, barracudas, dolphins and reef sharks. Those who decide to head to the mountains can visit waterfalls, visit hot springs and look into gardens.

pros

  • Beautiful underwater world
  • Lots of excursions and entertainment

Minuses

  • Lack of nightlife, bars, discos
  • Long distances between attractions

Ras Al Khaimah

Ras al-Khaimah is the northernmost of the emirates, located on the border with the Sultanate of Oman and is not very popular with tourists.

It has a milder climate, clean uncrowded beaches and mineral water springs. In the Old Town of Ras al-Khaimah you can visit a dilapidated fort, ancient watchtowers, a national museum, and a local market. The more active ones will find the Ice Land amusement park with numerous waterfalls, slides, play areas, swimming pools and attractions.

In order to improve your health, you need to go to the Masafi region - get natural drinking water or visit the town of Hatt to plunge into the hot springs. Here, by the way, you can undergo a set of Ayurvedic spa treatments using thermal water - this is not the case in any other emirate.

pros

  • You can combine a beach holiday with treatment
  • Good climatic conditions and gorgeous beaches

Minuses

  • No public transport, only taxis
  • Tourist infrastructure is not very developed

Ajman

Almost reigns in Ajman homely atmosphere- this happened due to the fact that this poor emirate occupies the smallest area of all seven. Here, among numerous palm trees and beautiful beaches, tourists will find a cozy and friendly environment. In the evenings, both locals and vacationers go for a walk on the embankment - after the sun sets and the heat subsides, life begins to boil here.

There is no prohibition in Ajman; alcohol can be freely purchased in any store, but it will not be possible to take it out of the emirate. You can diversify your holiday by visiting mineral springs, camel racing or water sports.

pros

  • Ajman is located just 10 km from Sharjah and 30 km from Dubai, so for entertainment and... shopping centers you can go to your neighbors

Minuses

  • Few excursions, shopping

Umm Al Quwain

Those who want to see real Emirati life without the luxury of Dubai and the glitter of Abu Dhabi should go to provincial Umm al-Quwain. Thanks to its territorial location, the residents of the emirate were able to preserve traditions and their usual way of life. The city itself is located on a small peninsula, on a coastline indented by lagoons, bays and bays.

Umm al-Quwain is an ideal place for those who want to observe the leisurely Arab life through the smoke of a hookah and the sound of the coastal waves. More active entertainment includes an aquarium and the largest park in the Middle East, Dreamland, with an artificial 18-meter volcano. In addition, you can sail to the islands, watch camel races, knock out all the targets at the shooting club or practice water sports at the Marine Club.

pros

  • Unique atmosphere and color

Minuses

  • Few hotels and accommodation options
  • No public transport

The hospitable Middle Eastern country of the United Arab Emirates offers excellent conditions for recreation at its resorts and beaches. Where can we spend the time we look forward to throughout the year in the UAE? Which city to spend time in – Sharjah, Fujairah or Dubai? We have prepared a short review that will help you determine the answer to this question.

The richest emirate, which just 50 years ago was a small village, is rightfully considered a place of “luxury” vacation in all respects. Here are all the largest marvels of modern architecture: the sail-shaped Burj Dubai hotel (a seven-star hotel, by the way), the tallest skyscraper in the world, Burj Khalifa, palm-shaped islands and much more. Why do tourists go to Dubai? The most exciting activity There is shopping in this city. There is everything for this here - huge malls and shopping complexes, countless shops, the windows of which are buried in gold.

If you came to this emirate just to relax, you are welcome to the spacious and wide beaches, washed by the warm and clear waters of the Persian Gulf. In addition, Dubai offers a variety of entertainment for every taste and color. Before your trip, plan your expenses in advance - the article on how much money to take with you to Dubai will help you with this.

Abu Dhabi

The beautiful and modern Middle Eastern city in the UAE is very popular among tourists. This is largely due to the fact that the authorities were able to incredibly harmoniously combine the beauty of the desert sands and man-made oases, of which there are many in the city and the abundance of greenery in which is simply surprising. Along with this, Abu Dhabi has many modern skyscrapers, ideal roads and many restaurants and shops. Don't forget to visit the Gold Market, just be careful - the incredible amount of gold sold there may cloud your mind...or maybe not).

Umm Al Quwain

The main highlight of this emirate is the famous camel racing. If you are a gambling person, you can place your bet on one or another representative of this family of mammals and, if you’re lucky, win a good sum. If you are traveling with children, then you should definitely visit the “DreamLand” water park, the heart of which is an artificial volcano, outwardly indistinguishable from a real one, of course, smaller in size.

Fujairah

So, we have come to the most “beach” emirate. Fujairah is located on the shores of the Gulf of Oman. In addition to the fabulous beaches, where you want to spend time endlessly, diving enthusiasts will find something to do here - swimming among bright corals and fish of all colors of the rainbow will bring great pleasure. 👁 Do we book the hotel through booking as always? In the world, not only Booking exists (🙈 for a high percentage from hotels - we pay!). I’ve been using Rumguru for a long time, it’s really more profitable 💰💰 than Booking.
👁 And for tickets, go to air sales, as an option. It has been known about him for a long time 🐷. But there is a better search engine - Skyscanner - there are more flights, lower prices! 🔥🔥.
👁 And finally, the main thing. How to go on a trip without any hassle? Buy now. This is the kind of thing that includes flights, accommodation, meals and a bunch of other goodies for good money 💰💰.

Choosing an emirate for a holiday in the UAE - tourist highlights and best hotels

Most guests of the UAE equate a holiday in the United Arab Emirates with a holiday in Dubai. This is not entirely true. Six of the seven emirates of the UAE are actively investing in the development of tourism - the construction of classy hotels, tourism infrastructure and entertainment venues. And each of the UAE emirates is the best in some way. SeredinaLeta has collected for you the highlights of a holiday in different emirates of the UAE, their attractions and the best hotels.

Holidays in the emirate of Dubai - the best for entertainment

Dubai is the center of tourism, infrastructure, world records and the best new products in the UAE. Every year the emirate breaks its own attendance records. Despite the fact that prices in Dubai are on average more expensive than other emirates of the UAE and new hotels are constantly opening, hotel occupancy is consistently above 75%. By 2020, Dubai plans to attract 25 million tourists a year. Can you imagine? An incredible number...

Holidays in Sharjah - accessibility of attractions and beach holidays

The Emirate of Sharjah is Dubai's closest neighbor with a border just 15 km from Dubai Airport. Sharjah also has its own airport that receives Air Arabia flights from Ukraine.

Regardless of the airport of arrival, a holiday in Sharjah always involves a quick transfer to your holiday destination.

Tourist highlight or very important A special feature of holidays in the emirate of Sharjah is prohibition . In Sharjah, alcohol is not served in hotels and restaurants, it cannot be bought in stores, it cannot be consumed openly, and even the transport of alcohol into Sharjah is officially prohibited.

Holidays in Sharjah are chosen by those who do not depend on “alcohol doping” for an active pastime or who carefully carry alcohol with them for closed parties in their room. Sharjah's All inclusive food system also has its own characteristics. It includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and soft drinks, which are free with meals only. This feature makes it possible to use the all-inclusive system for an inexpensive surcharge.

What's better than a holiday in Sharjah? Advantages of the emirate:

  • ♦ Quick accessibility to Dubai infrastructure and attractions
  • ♦ Sharjah is considered one of the cultural capitals of the Muslim world with many historical sites, art galleries and museums. In addition to cultural heritage, Sharjah also offers quality shopping, tourist entertainment and attractions.
  • ♦ Prices for holidays in Sharjah are generally 30% lower than similar hotel prices in Dubai
  • ♦ Sharjah beaches with imported white or local yellow sand are clean, safe and great for families with children in the UAE
  • ♦ Sharjah has a large selection of hotels with direct access to the beach
  • ♦ On vacation in Sharjah there are no problems with tourists of the “tagil” category, because in reality they are not there :)
  • ♦ Sharjah hotels often use a passport as a deposit rather than a cash deposit

Holidays in the Emirate of Ajman - the best family hotels

The tiniest emirate of Ajman for last years has turned into a well-kept modern well-developed tourist city.

In Ajman, there is something to see and a place to go for both children and adults: an ancient fort with a working museum, two huge parks with amusement rides and playgrounds. Entertainment is accessible by transport to guests of all hotels in Ajman, because the emirate is very small in territory. The journey to Dubai from Ajman hotels takes approximately 30 minutes. Many hotels provide transfers to Dubai malls and very good prices by Emirati standards.

What is the best holiday in Ajman? The Emirate of Ajman is a “fishing place” and is famous for its fishing excursions. You can enjoy the prepared catch directly on the boat or in numerous restaurants in Ajman. Many hotel restaurants in Ajman will also happily serve freshly caught fish.

When choosing a holiday in Ajman, you should be attentive to the concept of food. Several of the best hotels in Ajman are alcohol-free: Ramada Beach 4* and Bahi Ajman Palace 5*. We recommend paying attention to the best family beach hotels in Ajman Fairmont Ajman 5*, Ajman Saray 5* (all inclusive) and Ajman Hotel 5*. Of the economical hotels in Ajman with a beach, the best option would be Ajman Beach 3*- The optimum ratio of price and quality!

Holidays in Ras Al Khaimah - Marjan Island and great prices

Ras Al Khaimah is a poor and small emirate of the UAE with a population of only 300 thousand inhabitants. It is located an hour's drive (80 km) from Dubai airport. But the beaches of Ras Al Khaimah are a fairy tale. Recently, the emirate has changed and populated the artificial island with hotels - Marjan . And he continues to build! Money and hopes are being invested in tourism infrastructure, because Ras Al Khaimah is the country's poorest emirate in terms of oil and gas.

There are few attractions in Ras Al Khaimah, but they are there: beautifully preserved ancient city of Julfar And Watchtowers of Ras Al Khaimah . From September to April you can visit camel race , which are held on the 10-kilometer camel track in Ras Al Khaimah on Fridays and Saturdays.

On vacation in Ras Al Khaimah, you can go on an excursion to the incredibly beautiful Wadi Bi Canyon, comparable only to the Grand Canyon in the USA. There are healing properties right in the capital Khatts Springs hot springs . The highlight of Ras Al Khaimah is huge Ice Land water park in the style of the cartoon "Ice Age".

But best vacation in Ras Al Khaimah - beach holiday. The peculiarity of Ras Al Khaimah is that it is calmer and warm waters than in other Gulf emirates. Thanks to the mountain range, Ras Al Khaimah is always a little warmer and more comfortable for a winter holiday in the UAE.

Holiday prices in Ras Al Khaimah can be very attractive. Moreover, most hotels in the emirate offer an all-inclusive food system. We recommend hotels on Marjan Island with the best beaches: Rixos Bab Al Bahr 5*, Doubletree by Hilton Marjan Island 5*, Marjan Island 5*.

The best VIP hotels on the coast of Ras Al Khaimah Hilton Ras Al Khaimah 5* and luxurious Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah 5* They offer only breakfast or half board meal plans. Moreover, the Waldorf is a classic of true luxury, and the Hilton is so large that while relaxing there at the same time, it’s easy not to meet anyone during your entire vacation.

Among the inexpensive hotels on the coast of Ras Al Khaimah we recommend Smartline Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort 4* And Beach Hotel by Bin Majid Hotels & Resorts 4*. The only caveat is that the low tides are noticeable on the beaches of the Ras Al Khaimah coast. You can swim, but at low tide the buoys are waist deep.

Holidays in the Emirate of Fujairah - the best underwater world

Fujairah stands apart among the UAE emirates in terms of nature, water color and marine life. Fujairah is the only emirate with a beach fronting the Gulf of Oman in the Indian Ocean.

Fujairah has the best underwater world in the UAE: fish, corals, turtles and diving on Shark Island. Appearance The emirate of Fujairah contrasts strongly with Dubai - much fewer skyscrapers and much more greenery.

Holidays in Fujairah are chosen by beach lovers, since the road from the airport to Fujairah hotels through the mountains takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. Many tour operators offer to combine holidays - 2 days in Dubai and then a beach holiday in Fujairah. A very interesting and economical combination of different pleasures in one vacation.

Fujairah's natural microclimate is ideal in winter, when the rest of the UAE emirates are still cool. In high summer, on the other hand, Fujairah is subject to monsoons and can be windy. It is better to move your vacation to the Gulf emirates of the UAE.

An important nuance of the emirate of Fujairah is the presence of a huge UAE oil terminal on the coast. While on vacation in Fujairah, you need to be prepared that “fuel oil misunderstandings” on the beaches are occasionally possible. Hotels in the emirate are trying to quickly eliminate the consequences, but heels and swimsuits sometimes have to be thoroughly washed.

However, this is almost the only disadvantage of a holiday in Fujairah. For example, could you put the words “UAE” and “waterfall” next to each other? No? And in Fujairah there are, just as there are museums, traditional villages , gold market and Friday Beach Bullfight .

Most hotels in the Emirate of Fujairah work with an all-inclusive food system and try to offer their guests the best range of services, “like in Turkey, only with UAE quality.” When choosing a holiday in Fujairah, it makes sense to pay extra for “All inclusive”, since if you eat on your own, you won’t be able to get more flavor for the same price.

There are few hotels in Fujairah and they are all worth their prices. We suggest highlighting Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort 5*- as an excellent family hotel in Moroccan style with animation and the best prices.

Tours to Abu Dhabi - the best chic

Abu Dhabi is the richest, greenest and most expensive emirate in the UAE. Vacations in Abu Dhabi are chosen for respectable, less noisy leisure and business. The capital of the UAE, like Dubai, does not sleep 24 hours a day and offers a lot of nightlife entertainment. But a holiday in Abu Dhabi has a special chic.

Fashionable hotels, gold dust on desserts, limousines, boutiques and clubs, the best conference rooms, shopping, theme parks and an exciting excursion program - all these are the highlights of travel in Abu Dhabi. Transfer from Dubai Airport (this is where all tour flights to the UAE land) to hotels in Abu Dhabi takes approximately 2 hours.

The main must-see holiday in Abu Dhabi is the famous Sheikh Zayed Mosque . One of the largest mosques in the world, it can accommodate 41,000 people at a time. By visiting the mosque, you will not only walk on the world's largest carpet self made, but you will also see a grandiose chandelier with a diameter of more than 10 m.

Local residents treat the Sheikh Zayed Mosque with awe and respect. It was built in memory of the emir, thanks to whom the UAE became known throughout the planet. Entrance to the Mosque is free. We recommend visiting it in the evening - the lighting here is incredible.

From Ferrari World parka Neither men nor ladies will come out calm. Thanks to the world of Ferrari, men most often choose SeredinaLeta for a holiday in Abu Dhabi. Children will find it very interesting in the park school age. In Ferrari World, in addition to incredible exhibits, cars, souvenirs and restaurants, there are world's fastest roller coaster . Well, the UAE and Ferrari couldn’t help but appropriate them!

45 water attractions are offered to visitors by the Abu Dhabi Yas Waterworld water park. The water park is located on Yas Island next to the Formula 1 track. Yas Waterworld amazes with its brightness, scope and incredible amount of adventure. Most water park lovers consider Yas Waterworld the best in the UAE. Eh, do you love water slides as much as I love them?

Except for the November stage Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix , the emirate hosts several more world events - for every taste, but always on a grand scale. The world's most famous air show, the largest camel race in the East, an international arts festival... Events are distributed throughout the year. It is difficult to get to Abu Dhabi during such events - hotels are booked in advance.

The all-inclusive system is not popular in Abu Dhabi. It is believed that it somewhat limits the rest of a wealthy person. If you are planning an All inclusive holiday in Abu Dhabi, welcome to Beach Rotana 5*AndYas Island Rotana 5*. Most hotels in the emirate sell accommodation with breakfast or breakfast + lunch.

The coastline of Abu Dhabi is indented with artificial islands. Most hotel beaches in the capital of the UAE open into the internal canals of Abu Dhabi. The exception is the Yas Island hotels. These hotels have beaches overlooking the open sea, but they are located further from the main attractions of Abu Dhabi.

Which UAE emirate is better? We personally believe that each emirate is worthy of a visit and offers its own unique features for a holiday in the UAE. SeredinaLeta's credo is not to return to the same place twice, because the world is huge. But a holiday in the UAE can be so diverse that you can have a great time on your second and third holiday without ever repeating it.
