Homemade air dryer for shoes. DIY infrared clothes dryer. The principle of operation of the drying cabinet

Spring and autumn are the seasons when shoes get wet most of the time due to frequent rains. Shoes that are not dried can be harmful to your health by freezing your feet. And the shoes themselves will not last long. Whatever happens, I will show you how to make a very simple device that will allow you to avoid these problems.

The shoe dryer consists of only three components. It is not that simple, but rather the simplest. Well, I personally have not seen it easier. Despite its simplicity, it has a number of significant advantages:

  • - Low power consumption.
  • - Small size. You can easily take it with you anywhere.
  • - As a power supply, you can try batteries or accumulators. And as a result, you can dry your shoes anywhere, say, on a hike, on summer fishing, etc.
The dryer has no heating elements and dries your shoes with simple ventilation. The method is quite effective and the drying time is no longer than that of an electric dryer, although it all depends on the external humidity of the air.

What do you need for a shoe dryer?

  • - Power supply 12 V (5 V).
  • - Two coolers (fans) 12 V from the computer.

Dryer assembly

We take two fans and connect them in parallel to the power supply. Insulate with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing. And your shoe dryer is ready. We put the fans on top of the shoes, or if we insert them into the shoes. And turn on the block in the network.

If the drying speed is not so important for you, then you can take a 5 volt power supply (phone charger). This will increase the drying time of the shoes, but will reduce the noise of the fans. Of course, it is not big, but still someone may not like it.
I would like to add that at least 10 fans can be connected to one power supply and 5 pairs of shoes can be dried. Enough for the whole family. And if suddenly you are all wet, and there is only one dryer, it will take only a couple of minutes to make a few more dryers, unless of course you have all the elements at hand.

In the video you will see 3 ways to dry shoes:

Often a very common problem happens to us: you have washed your shoes and you need to let them dry. In summer, this is not a problem, since you can simply hang shoes on a clothespin on the balcony - they will dry quickly, but when it's winter.

The temperature is below zero and your shoes will simply freeze with such drying. Another way out of the situation is to hang shoes right in the apartment, but the problem is that the water that will drain from the shoes directly onto the floor will form a puddle. You can put a bucket, or you can make a fixture, which I want to talk about in this article.

First way

We'll need two cardboard bags for juice or milk (the larger the volume of the bags, the better) and two hangers for things.

First, cut off half of the cardboard boxes as shown in the photo:

Next, carefully using a knife or scissors, we make small cuts on the edges of the cardboard boxes (this is done so that the hangers for things can be easily fixed to the box.

After that, you need to take two hangers and "put" them on cardboard boxes on both sides:

Now you put the wet shoes inside the cardboard box and hang the construction from the rope:

Water will gradually accumulate in the shoes as the shoes dry. cardboard box and after a while you just have to open the neck cap, tilt the structure and the water will flow out. Next, close the neck lid and hang the structure on the rope again.

Second way

For the second method, we need two plastic bottles(the larger the better).

We cut out the middle from the bottles in the same way, but the difference with the previous method is that we do not need hangers for this design. We make a hole in the cork from under the bottle and fix the aluminum wire there, bend it at the end. Now we twist the cork on the bottle, put wet shoes inside the bottle and hang the structure on a rope.

The third way (the easiest)

For it we need just one hanger. We twist this hanger as shown in the photo and place wet shoes on it.

Some basic household appliances can be made without turning to craftsmen and without making expensive purchases. The original do-it-yourself shoe dryer is made from improvised materials. It is very easy to assemble it. And this does not require a lot of time and effort.

Materials and tools

The rainy and slushy season brings a lot of trouble. big problem is the wetting of shoes, which is very difficult to dry at home. Wearing wet shoes is uncomfortable and even dangerous to health - you can get not only a fungus, but also a runny nose, acute respiratory infections. A home heating battery is categorically not suitable for drying shoes - shoes and boots can be deformed, especially if they are made of genuine leather or light synthetics. A quality dryer will save time and space.

In terms of tools and accessories, everything is quite simple. To create a shoe dryer with your own hands, you need to use only improvised materials, so the cost of such a product will be low, the process is not laborious, it will not take much time. You will definitely need a thick wire that serves as a thermoelement, a plug, durable construction tape, and terminals. For more complex models, electronic components from used office equipment will come in handy.

Do-it-yourself manufacturing, taking into account the model

There are many models of dryers on the market, all of them are electric. However, not everyone is ready to spend money on the purchase of such a device. Let's try to figure out in detail how to assemble a homemade shoe dryer at home, depending on the materials available.

Electrical

The manufacturing process of this device is very simple, and almost anyone with a little knowledge of electrics can handle it. The basis of the electric dryer will be a thermostatic cable used in underfloor heating systems. So, to make such a shoe dryer with your own hands, you will need:

  • pieces of thermostatic cable;
  • copper cable with a cross section of 1.5 mm (two-core);
  • fork standard;
  • adhesive tape;
  • terminal block.

If it is necessary to regulate the drying heating temperature, a dimmer is additionally required.

Of the tools useful:

  • screwdriver;
  • pliers;
  • side cutters;
  • sharp knife.

Step-by-step manufacturing instructions include the following steps:

  1. From the thermal cable we make two trimmings about 50 cm long, bend them in the form of liners.
  2. At one end of each trim, we make an end seal with electrical tape, and on the other side we connect the block.
  3. We connect both inserts in parallel with a copper cable with an electrical plug. We wrap several times with electrical tape.

We make sure that everything is done accurately and accurately, since the device will be connected to the mains. The dryer is ready.

It should be remembered that only an unplugged electric dryer can be placed in shoes. This is a basic precaution against fires and short circuits. Inner part shoes should be heated and dried gradually.

Flexible

This method is suitable for those who have unnecessary spare parts from the computer. The work will need:

  • working cooler (possible from a video card);
  • corrugated tube 1 meter long;
  • box;
  • power supply from the system unit 12V;
  • connecting wires;
  • electrical plug;
  • hardware (screws).

This option is no more difficult than the previous one. To begin with, we take a box and make a hole in it with a diameter equal to the diameter of the cooler. Following are the instructions:

  1. We cut the corrugated cable into two equal parts, make holes for them in the box.
  2. We immerse the cooler in the electric box, fix it with screws. Place the fan in such a way that air enters the corrugated tubes.
  3. All gaps formed must be filled with rubber gaskets to prevent air leakage from the device. The dryer is ready.

Both ends of the corrugation are immersed in shoes, and the device is connected to a 220 volt network. This device can also be operated from a car cigarette lighter.

Trim fan blades if necessary

Drill two holes for the fasteners and glue the vibration isolation to the bottom of the box and the box lid

Attach fan

Take noise measurements

Solder the power cable to the switch. Cut holes in rubber plugs for hoses

To further reduce the noise level and create more vacuum inside the box, seal the seam

Add soundproofing feet to the bottom of the box

From the fans

Damage your favorite shoes by exposing them hot battery, is not the best idea. Radiators are not suitable for drying shoes. But if there is no special device at hand, but there are unnecessary fans from the computer, the problem is solved. The device is assembled from coolers. This electric dryer is very easy to manufacture, has low energy consumption and small size. To make a shoe dryer with your own hands, you will need:

  • power supply 12 or 5 volts;
  • computer cooler - 2 pcs.

Let's start assembling:

  1. We connect two coolers in parallel to the blocks.
  2. We make insulation with electrical tape. You can use heat shrink tubing.
  3. The dryer is ready.

Coolers are placed either inside the boots or on top, and the device is plugged into a power outlet. If you have only a 5 volt power supply at hand, for example, an unnecessary charger from your phone, then you can also use it. Such a device will work quieter, but the drying time of the shoes will increase due to less power.

Several fans can be connected to one such power supply at once - for example, 10, so that there is enough for the whole family for 5 pairs of shoes, respectively.

Insulate with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing

From plastic pipes

This option is perhaps the safest, since it does not require electricity to work. The dryer can be safely used in a house where there are small children. The device is made of polypropylene or other plastic pipes and attached to the radiator. Such a design is assembled in 15 minutes, it has a completely aesthetic appearance. So, for work you will need:

  • PVC pipes (polypropylene);
  • polypropylene fittings (90 degrees);
  • soldering iron.

The execution process consists of the following steps:

  1. We measure the width and length of the radiator. We determine how the structure will be attached to it.
  2. We solder the pipes with a soldering iron, forming two sides of the dryer with the help of corners and fittings. We fasten the fittings on two sides parallel to each other in order to place poles in their holes.
  3. We solder the central longitudinal tubes.

Such a shoe dryer is ready to work if the heating in the house is turned on. On it you can dry not only shoes, but also use it for hanging clothes, towels.

Security measures

The existing scheme for the manufacture of a device for drying shoes also implies compliance with certain safety rules, especially if it is an electric dryer:

  1. In the manufacture of electrical appliances, it is necessary to protect hands with rubber gloves.
  2. In no case should you check the presence of current with your fingers.
  3. Do not work with wet hands or wet tools.
  4. In no case should children be allowed to participate in this process.
  5. Do not place the dryer connected to the mains on the floor. To do this, you must use stands - metal or ceramic.
  6. Include finished device in the network is possible only after immersing it in shoes.

Drying shoes on handicraft devices can be very effective. Moreover, experienced master independently creates such a configuration of the device for drying, which will exactly fit the dimensions of his shoes. A homemade dryer can be designed based on the location of home electrical networks and the available free space. Factory products for drying are typical, they do not take into account either the load on the network or the convenience of placement.

Repair homemade device drying shoes is also elementary. According to the scheme, it is no more complicated than an old iron. It is enough to have a basic knowledge of electrical engineering and take basic safety measures.

Protect your hands with rubber gloves

Despite the heat outside, the value of shoe dryers not only does not decrease, but perhaps even increases. Personally, I have to wear shoes even in summer. And in the heat, shoes get wet even faster than in autumn.

The other day, when I decided to dry my shoes, I discovered that one of the dryers was not working. We undertake brain repairs of our dryers.

So, we turn on our dryers in the network and see that one dryer does not want to glow, and does not want to warm up either.

We turn off the network. Open the cover by unscrewing the screws. We get the following picture:

The scheme, as we see, is completely uncomplicated. I must say right away that there should be four LEDs in the original, but somehow they already burned out. I was able to collect only three, and the fourth, simply, was replaced by a jumper.

Our dryer has one very vulnerable spot - the heating element. He sits under the radiator plate.

This is true! The wiring flew off and our whole circuit was broken. We solder it back. You have to solder carefully. It is better to fix it with something until the solder completely hardens. The fact is that the heating element is a ceramic plate on which something similar has been applied. appearance on graphite. Although it may be graphite. The contact points were covered with a very thin layer of foil, and it successfully came off along with the wire. Therefore, it is necessary to solder on the edge of the ceramics and the conductive part. Both there and there the connection will be fragile, but we can’t carry sacks of potatoes on it.

We believe. Everything glows! And it heats up!

We carefully turn the plate over (it was the most difficult moment for me - a couple of times the posting did fall off), and we collect everything in a heap. We check again.

In total, having lost 15 minutes of time, and practically not a penny of money (electricity and huge costs of solder and rosin are not taken into account 🙂), we have newly revived dryers, which I bought for almost $ 15.

We can run to dry our shoes.

We assemble a device for drying shoes - an electric dryer from a self-regulating thermal cable. An electric shoe dryer can make the autumn-winter slushy period much more comfortable. In addition, dry shoes are a matter of maintaining health, so this is far from a useless device.

Materials and tools

Materials:

Cuttings of a thermal cable (it is possible from the "warm floor" system);

Copper two-core cable with a cross section of 1.5 sq. mm;

Electrical plug;

Dimmer (it is possible without it if you do not need to regulate the heating of the dryers);

Insulating tape;

Terminal block.

Tools:

pliers;

Screwdriver;

Knife and side cutters.

Dryer manufacturing

So, from scraps of a thermal cable with a length of 35-50 cm, we make two pieces of insert loops.

On two sections of the cable, we make an end seal on one side (see photo) and connect the terminal block on the other side. You can make not a terminal connection of wires, but soldering.

We connect two "loops" with a cable with a plug in parallel. Additionally, we isolate with several layers of electrical tape or upset with a thermo-tube.

We do everything carefully and reliably, because we will connect the dryer to the 220 volt network - there should be no mistakes!

Important! We put the thermal cable in the shoes to dry and remove it only when the power is off!

DO NOT disregard the safety rules
