You can make the interior stylish and unusual with the help of an endless mirror, which creates a visual illusion and surprisingly transforms the room.

Thanks to the tunnel effect, such a mirror expands the space and strikes the imagination with its bottomless depth. Moreover, the darker in the room, the more mysterious the volumetric reflection, lost in the twilight, will look.

The cost of a tunnel mirror depends on its size:

Size (mm) 600 x 800 700 x 700 800 x 800 900 x 900 900 x 1000 your size
Cost, rub.) 19200 19600 25600 32400 36000 dog.

Such a decoration will look very impressive in a club, hotel, bar and any other institution where all the most original and fashion trends design.

Infinite Mirror will give any interior an ultra-modern look and perfectly fit into the futuristic style. With it, you can transform a wall, ceiling, bar counter or countertop. This is one of the most spectacular and fashionable ways to enliven and visually expand the room.

The visibility of the depth of reflection, that is, the effect of an infinite mirror, is created using a bright LED backlight and multiple reflection of light in two parallel mirror surfaces.

How is the effect of "infinity" achieved?

Mirrors have different transmission and reflection coefficients. On the back wall there is an ordinary mirror with a reflection coefficient of 100%. The front of the mirror is a one-way glass through which only 50% of the light passes and is reflected. LEDs are placed along the perimeter between these two parts.

Thus, infinity mirror effect is that you can see each multiple reflection of the light source, but the brightness of each subsequent image is reduced by 2 times. The gaze of the observer is presented with an endless cascade of lights fading into the dusk. Illumination can be one-color or multi-color at the request of the customer. The thickness of the mirror panels varies from 5 to 10 centimeters, and the appearance of a bottomless depth is created.

Infinity mirror "Tunnel" is equipped with a backlight brightness adjustment using a remote control remote control. The brighter the light, the stronger the illusion of depth. When the backlight is turned off, the device looks like. You can change the glow modes and color transitions, and in some models there is a “music” mode in which the LEDs flash to the beat of the playing music.

The use of an unusual mirror in the design of rooms.

The shape, size and design of this unique item decors are selected individually and are limited only by the imagination of the customer. You can experiment with the effect of an infinite mirror by placing one shape in another (for example, a circle in a square or vice versa) and complicating the optical illusion in this way. Such experiences will be of particular interest to designers who are ready to turn the most daring ideas into reality.

By purchasing this product, you will bring a touch of novelty to your home and you will definitely be satisfied. You can purchase this stylish item not only for yourself, but also as a gift to your loved ones or work colleagues. Such a pleasant surprise will amaze your friends and will be remembered for a long time.

To order a Tunnel mirror, it is enough to choose its size, shape, number and color of LEDs, type and shade of the frame (wood or metal), features for adjusting the brightness and level of reflection depth, as well as the installation location (wall, ceiling, countertop or even floor).

Theoretically, it is not difficult to explain such an optical effect. You can create an illusory endless tunnel even with the help of an ordinary candle: this magic was used by many girls of almost all generations, conducting fortune-telling rituals. Due to the multiple reflections of the light source from the real and imaginary surfaces of the mirror, it seemed as if the candle fell into a tunnel without end and edge. All this can be easily explained in terms of quantum physics.

Infinity mirrors are a wonderful piece of decor that can become the main accent in the interior. Most often they are used in the design of commercial premises: nightclubs and bars, cafes, showrooms, offices. However, you can decorate an apartment with such an art object. It will look appropriate in a bathroom or hallway, made in Gothic or industrial style, with elements of minimalism, pop art or techno.

A mirror with infinite depth can be used not only for its intended purpose, as wall construction with lighting, but also as an element of other furniture. It will become an original countertop for coffee table, the edge of a cubic design, floor decoration and more. It could be complete ceiling chandelier or an additional light source.

How to DIY

You can order an LED art object far from everywhere, but this is not necessary, because making a mirror with an infinity effect with your own hands is not so difficult. All that is needed is to purchase materials, build a frame and assemble the structure according to already ready-made instructions and diagrams. At the final stage, the LED strip is glued - and the eye-catching installation is ready.

Necessary materials and tools

To create the effect of an infinite mirror, you need to prepare materials and tools, namely:

  1. Two types of mirrors. The first is the usual one, with one-sided reflection. The second is glass with partial mirror effect(plexiglass works too). They must be the same size.
  2. Light source. The most economical in terms of energy consumption are LEDs, so it is advisable to stock up on self-adhesive tape.
  3. Demountable frame frame for a mirror structure, holding the mirrors at a distance of about 2 cm from each other. If nothing suitable was found, you need to prepare several wooden bars and silicone sealant to glue them.
  4. Sunscreen mirror window film. It will create the desired effect of glass tinting.
  5. Tools: scissors, cutter, glue gun, perforator or drill.

To make a mirror surface with a partial reflective effect, most likely, you will have to do it yourself. To do this, you need to paste over ordinary glass with a sun-protective reflective window film, having previously cleaned and degreased it. It will be necessary to cut off such a piece of material so that it is slightly larger in area than the glass surface (goes beyond its limits on all sides).

To apply a film on glass, you should start from one corner, gradually lubricating the surface liquid soap. It must be constantly ironed to avoid the formation of air bubbles.

There are a number of specific requirements for the light source. First, it must not generate heat. Secondly, be bright enough and not get lost behind a mirror film. The ideal option becomes an RGB LED strip. The working rating of its voltage should be equal to 24 volts. This is the most optimal solution.

Frame manufacturing

Any can be a frame. wooden frame of the appropriate size with a depth of at least 1.3-1.5 cm. The design can be done with your own hands. To do this, you need 4 bars of wood 2 cm wide. Next, you need to follow a simple instruction:

  1. The bars are glued directly to the mirror using pre-prepared silicone sealant.
  2. The made rack frame also needs to be prepared for the output of the wires supplying the light source. To do this, drill small holes in it with a drill.
  3. The slats are glued in stages, one after the other, and aligned along the edges of the mirror surface.

If the finished frame is taken as the basis, then tinted glass and an additional smaller inner frame are inserted into it, which will serve as a stop for the inserted mirror. Recesses are made in it for the wire for the LEDs using a cutter (on the back).

Assembly

To assemble a structure with infinite mirrors, everything should be ready. Remains only:

  1. Glue the frame rails to the mirror on its reflective side.
  2. Fasten the RGB LED strip from the inside. To do this, the power cord simply needs to be pulled through the pre-drilled holes.
  3. Trim the mirror film to the width of the frame.
  4. Apply adhesive or the same silicone sealant along the edge frame structure and put glass on top with a mirror film (reflective surface inside).

After that, you need to decide how to make the ends invisible. They can simply be painted over or covered with a U-shaped profile, which can be fixed with a sealant. Alternatively, a plastic cable duct (without cover) can be used.

Connecting the LED strip

The traditional lamp with the effect of an infinity mirror provides for the location led strip along the perimeter of the frame, but it can be beaten in a slightly different way. With the help of LEDs, you can not only depict some geometric figures but whole words. To do this, an additional structure of rails is glued to the mirror along with the frame.

If self-adhesive tape was purchased, then fixing it is not difficult. If it does not stick, then it is fixed along the inner perimeter of the frame using the usual adhesive composition. When it comes to connecting LEDs, there are always two options. If color effects are needed, light bulbs are connected through controllers. If you connect the RGB lamp directly to the power supply, it will shine in white.

An endless mirror is a newfangled home decoration, which is quite popular due to its unusual appearance. The illusion of infinite depth, which is its "chip", is deceptive, because the thickness of the product is only a few centimeters. How to make an infinite mirror with your own hands and is it really that difficult?

Design features with infinity effect

Such mirrors have successfully found application in the form of stylish tabletops, wall panels, and ceiling lights. Their feature is transparent glass, on the one hand, and a mirror surface, on the other. The product is called the Gesela mirror or "Spy Mirror" and is quite rare in stores, and if sold, then at a biting price. Fortunately for those who want to decorate their homes with it, the design is not difficult, and it is quite possible to make it yourself.

How to make an infinite mirror with your own hands?

All that is needed to implement the plan is the acquisition of simple materials, a little patience and perseverance. The mirror can be of any size and shape of your choice, as well as have various shapes inside.

What materials will be needed?

For manufacturing, you can take both a translucent mirror, the device with which you can turn off and use as a classic product, and a mirror on one side and transparent on the other. In general, the list of materials is as follows:

  • ordinary mirror;
  • a sheet of window glass;
  • polystyrene foam and a knife for cutting it;
  • putty and spatula;
  • mirror film;
  • sandpaper;
  • LED garland;
  • glass cutter, marker, suction cup and jigsaw.

A glass thickness of at least 4 cm is desirable, since in this case its strength will not be in doubt. In order not to dust and save energy, you can purchase it with pre-finished edges.

Assembly instructions

The chosen scheme is a round infinite mirror, but any other shape is made according to the same principle. So, you will need:

  • Mark the correct circle on the glass with a marker on the desired size, and then make cuts along its contour with a glass cutter. Next, you need to lightly and gently tap under the furrows until cracks appear, then put the material on a towel and break off excess pieces.

IMPORTANT. On initial stage you need to be as collected and attentive as possible, since the glass is fragile, and the shape of the circle can be broken. As a result, the diameter of the future mirror will significantly decrease, and the amount of time spent will increase.

ADVICE. In the process of gluing the mirror film, air bubbles may form under it. To avoid this, you need to smooth it from the center to the edges with a bank card or something like that.

The final step is to assemble all the components into a single structure and connect the LED strip. In order to be able to hang the mirror on the wall, in hardware store special fasteners are purchased. Before sticking them back wall wiped with solvent.

Decide on a light source

LED Strip Light - best option, since after assembly the whole structure is sealed and the light source should not generate heat. Preference should be given to RGB, which will allow you to create incredible optical effects. Products with a voltage of 24 V have maximum brightness, and it is also easier for them to shine through mirror film. In order not to waste time and nerves on manipulating the LED strip, you can purchase already ready-made version, equipped with a controller, in the store. Thus, the process is simple and does not require special skills and experience - just spend a little time and effort. As a result, you will get a stylish mirror with an infinity effect that will decorate your home and will delight guests with its unusual look.

This article was found on one of the popular blogs, and in order not to violate the integrity, the author's text is further saved: wandering through the expanses of Youtube, I came across a bewitching video demonstrating the operation of this simple device. The first impression of viewing was so strong that the hands themselves began to drive into Google a search for online stores where you could find out the price and purchase it. The price was not to say that it was biting, but there was no interest in buying a ready-made device. After thinking about the device for 15 minutes, it was decided to assemble it with my own hands ...

Search for materials

Ideally, we need a mirror that is mirrored on one side and transparent on the other. Or translucent, because. turning off the device, we have the opportunity to use it as a normal mirror.

Looking ahead, I will say that I opted for a mirror film from a household magician.

So we have:

Ordinary mirror
- Mirror film
- Expanded polystyrene for the body
- Sheet of glass (window)
- Two sheets of sandpaper
- Spatula and putty
- Knife for cutting polystyrene
- Chinese blue garland for 100 LEDs
- Jigsaw
- glass cutter
- suction cup

Assembly

Cut out a circle from glass. This is done as follows:

We pass with a glass cutter in a circle, and then from the circle, radially, we cut cuts from the circle to the edges. Then we tap all the lines from below with a glass cutter, until light cracks appear under the lines. Then we put a towel under the circle and break off the excess with our hands. However, the first time in one place it turned out crooked, I had to redo it. The glass diameter has been reduced from 40 to 35 cm.

It turns out something like this:

Cut out the blank for the mirror. Important: cut only from the side of the glass, by no means along the silver plating.

So, now we cut out the body. We take polystyrene, I cut out a square from it and outlined the future ring on it.

Then, using a jigsaw and a knife, cut out the ring, and mark the first holes for the diodes with a marker. By the way, the ring (its inner part) is made 1 cm smaller than the mirror, so that the allowance is everywhere 5 mm along the edges. There will be something to glue on in the future.

We make holes for the diodes (I melted with a soldering iron).

We make another ring, put a film on the glass

Sometimes you really want to pamper your family and friends with some beautiful thing made by hand. "Infinite Mirror" better fit for this purpose. If you really want, you can get not only a beautiful, but even a stylish and, if desired, multifunctional thing.

DIY Infinity Mirror

All you need for this is a minimum of details and good perseverance, well, some materials.

  1. Mirror
  2. Translucent mirror (spy mirror, Gesell mirror)
  3. Aluminum or plastic profiles
  4. power unit
  5. LED strip controller
  6. metal or wooden frame(baguette)
  7. Double-sided tape
  8. masking tape
  9. old newspapers
  10. Black paint can

Most people went through "Christmas fortune-telling", and quite often there was a fortune-telling when it was necessary to make a tunnel from two mirrors in which the flame of a candle would be reflected and then read the call of the "narrowed (th)" and sit waiting for him (a) to look out from this corridor. This is the corridor you and I will need to build.

First of all, you need to think about the shape and size.

Shapes with straight lines it will be easier to make (including the frame).

Ask a “familiar” glazier (if you are not confident in your abilities) to cut a mirror and a translucent mirror to the required dimensions.

The better the reflection of the mirror and the spy mirror, and the better the transparency of the spy mirror, the better. If it is not possible to find a translucent mirror, then you can take ordinary glass and film for tinting car windows (preferred option) or, at worst, reflective film in hardware stores.

Next, you need a profile. If you want strict and clear lines, then an aluminum profile is the best fit for this purpose.

If you want to experiment with shapes, then you can stop your eyes on the cable channel for wires. Its advantage is that it is: more affordable, with a certain desire, you can make almost any shape out of it, you can immediately hide wires in it, it has very accurate dimensions in width and depth (you will get parallel mirrors), it is easy to process.

Can be used wooden slats, but they must be very accurate measurements along the entire length and preferably use a "dead" tree that will not respond to changes in temperature and humidity.

Glass preparation.Wash the glass thoroughly beforehand, wipe it dry so that no streaks are visible, then take a weak soap solution, moisten them with glass, tear off protective covering film and a special felt "spatula", trying not to scratch the film, expel air bubbles between the glass and the film. Outside, the film can also be moistened with soapy water. When all the bubbles are “expelled”, let the product dry for about a day. Then thoroughly rinse the soap solution from the surface of the film and wipe dry, being careful not to leave streaks.

Making an "infinite mirror"

Perhaps let's get started. All work is done on a mirror. After you have decided on the shapes and sizes, do the following:

Note: instead of the LED strip, you can use stencil glass and objects, such as, for example, in the picture below.

What do you need to know?

Each reflection is weaker than the previous one by at least two times. And, therefore, the brighter the light source, the deeper the tunnel.

The closer the mirrors are to each other, the denser the tunnel glows, but it becomes shorter.
The less reflective surfaces are inside the mirrors, the more in the off state this device resembles an ordinary mirror or a dark mirror (depending on which translucent glass you choose: one-sided or two-sided.

The brighter the light source, the more reflections we get, the deeper the tunnel.
To give flight to your imagination, it is enough to write a query in Yandex or Google search engines in "Pictures": "Infinite Mirror". And you will understand that your creation can be unique if you only want to.
