And you can use the bark of the tree itself or part of a large trunk, something like this option may come out, as in the photo:

A good option will come out of the numerous rods of the tree. For this on wooden stand you need to fix in a chaotic manner a lot of branches of various thicknesses, but approximately the same length.

From logs

Do-it-yourself wooden candlesticks can be made using ordinary logs. If you are in the country or visiting the village, ask to be given a few round wooden firewood to create beauty. Bars will need centimeters 10-15. Use a drill to make a hole for the pill candle. Be sure to finish the edges with sandpaper. Now it remains only to install the candle and find a place for a new environmentally friendly candlestick.

But what can come out if you use a log sawn in half. Also make a few holes in the bark and install candles.

An even more original candlestick will turn out if you use a driftwood of an imperfect shape.

From a bar

Wood in this regard can be disposed of as we please. Let's take, for example, ordinary timber. The most elementary option is not to process the beam in any way, attach horseshoes on both sides and install small lamps from glass jars on top. As photo:

The beam will also be needed to create a whole chandelier. So, you will need several wooden blanks, they can be the same width, but different lengths. In each of the bars you need to make a hole for a candle. Then the bars are interconnected with glue. They can be painted and decorated, or they can be left in their original form so that the texture of the tree is visible.

Do-it-yourself wooden candlesticks come out the most sincere, because the tree retains the energy and warmth of your hands.

With wax

For example, a wooden candlestick can be made using its saw cut. You will need to melt a sufficient amount of wax in a water bath, prepare a few wicks, and then pour the wax into the cut. As a bottom, you can use some kind of metal substrate or a wooden plank.

Wooden twigs as decoration

Wooden twigs, well cleaned and well selected, can become a decorative finish on the glass base of a candlestick. Each branch can be glued to the base with a glue gun, or gently attached to glass container and tie with thread. You need to carry out such a procedure with each of the branches, it will turn out very original.

But such candlesticks will compete with any piece of contemporary art. They can be installed both in a hi-tech room and in a country style, they will also fit well into classic or modern.

From clothespins

Wooden clothespins? Wooden! So, the candlestick of them will also turn out to be wooden. As a base, you can use a pate tin. Then clothespins can simply be strung on a jar. And if you use a glass goblet or a glass, then it is better to attach clothespins with glue.

Such a candlestick can always be additionally decorated with dried flowers, stones, twigs and ribbons.

Something similar can be done using small plates of bark.

Arrangements with candles and wood

After all, it is not necessary and not always that candles should be dressed in some kind of special shell. On glass coffee table you have the right to create a composition from a saw cut of a tree, fragrant herbs and candles.

There can be any number of options. It can be an interesting snag, some scattered sand, shells, pebbles and candles.

It can be a composition from different cuts different trees, roots, cones and moss. Just make sure that there is no direct contact of materials with fire to avoid ignition.

You can also decorate a vase or a large glass with stripped driftwood, flowers, dried citrus slices.

Other decorative elements

This means that you can use all the derivatives of the tree and everything that is connected with it and may resemble it. For example, a large wide candle can be decorated with small cones, fixed directly on the candle itself. Or with cones, you can decorate the vessel in which the candle is placed.

Corks can be used in the same way, nicely placed around the vessel.

Candlesticks can also be made from plywood. This will take a little more effort and time. What will be required:

  • plywood sheet;
  • jigsaw;
  • sandpaper;
  • sketch template;
  • old ballpoint pen.

Of course, this work also requires special skills, especially when working with power tools.

First you need to wipe the plywood well. Then transfer the stencil using a non-writing pen. This will be easy to do as the plywood will leave marks when pressed. You can also use special transfer paper for the sketch.

Now you need to cut holes in the details themselves, decorative holes. First of all, they cut them out, and then they cut out the details of the candelabra themselves.

After the parts are ready, they need to be cleaned. Now they are assembled, glued and varnished. As an additional decor, you can use burning or other techniques.

Idea 1. Candlestick made of wooden cuts

A saw cut of a tree is an almost ready-made candlestick, beautiful, environmentally friendly and versatile. It will be appropriate in or interior design all year round, including New Year's Eve.

How to do it: You can make your own saw cuts, but it's faster and easier to buy ready-made saw cuts, which are sold in many online stores and craft stores. "Ready" saw cuts are good because they do not have splits and cracks, they are properly dried and can already be sanded. You can pick up saw cuts of different diameters, heights, different varieties wood and make a whole set of candlesticks. You can make a cell for a candle in a saw cut using a drill with a forstner drill (about 150 rubles) or another drill that can make a blind round hole of the diameter you need (for example, it can be a “ballerina”, a wood crown, a spiral or drill bit, etc.).

Idea 2. Wooden block candlestick

And here is another idea for making a candlestick out of wood with your own hands, however, this time from a bar. However, you can replace the bar with a dried log or a board of a suitable size.

How to make it: To make a large wooden candlestick with your own hands, you will need:

  • Dry planed or unplaned wooden block(preferably wider so that the candlestick is stable). In this master class, a 100 × 100 mm bar was used.
  • A drill and a Forstner drill of a suitable diameter (for your candles) or any other drill that can cut a blind round hole of a small depth of 0.5-1 cm or more. A drill with a diameter of 50 mm was used here.
  • Square.
  • Roulette.
  • Pencil.
  • Hammer.
  • Stain of the desired color, rags or brush.
  • Latex gloves.

Step 1. First of all, you need to cut a segment from the bar desired length with a saw or jigsaw. In this project, the candlestick was made to decorate big table, so it has a length of 90 cm. Consider how many candles your candlestick will hold, and how much spacing there will be between them. Then mark the cut line, cut off the bar and lightly sand its end with sandpaper.

Step 2. Next, you need to draw markings on the bar for placing candles. To do this, first determine the length of the indents from the edges of the candlestick (in this MK there are indents of 7 cm), then simply place the candles on the bar with equal intervals, circle them and mark the center of each circle with a dot.

Step 3. Cut with a drill and a Forstner drill blind round holes small depth. Do not worry if the edges of the cells turn out to be rough, for our rustic candlestick this is only a plus.

Step 4. Give the tree an aged and sloppy look by tapping the ends of the candlestick with a hammer. You can make dents in just a few places or in all visible parties bar.

Step 5. Now you need to give the tree color, while maintaining the visibility of its pattern and beautiful texture. To do this, simply rub the stain with a soft cloth into the surface of the product in one layer, and then let it dry.

Here's what you should get.

Idea 3. Candlestick from a bottle

Glass bottles make not only elegant or vintage candlesticks, but also caps. Here are some ideas that you might like and that are very easy to implement.

Such candlesticks, made by hand from cut bottles, can be beautifully packaged and presented to loved ones.

How to do it: There is nothing easier than making a candlestick from a bottle with your own hands, as in the photo above, because for this you just need to cut it and fill it with wax with a wick, or just put a small candle. crop glass bottle possible in two ways.

  • Method 1: Soak a thick cotton thread in alcohol (eg nail polish remover), then wrap it around the bottle. Light the thread with care and immediately begin to rotate the bottle around its axis so that the fire spreads along the entire length of the thread. Now immerse the bottle in boiling water for 3 minutes, and then immediately transfer it to a container with cold water. Due to a sharp temperature drop, the glass will crack where the burning thread was tied. True, if the glass is too thick, for example, like a bottle of champagne, then the procedure will have to be repeated 2-3 times.
  • Method 2: If you have a glass cutter or glass drill, then you can use them. Wrap the bottle with a hair tie, and then draw a line along its contour with a glass cutter. Burn the cut line, immerse the bottle in boiling water for 3 minutes, and then quickly transfer it to cold water.

When the bottle breaks, sand the sharp edge first with coarse sandpaper and then with fine grit.

Now that the candlestick is almost ready, you can insert the wick into it, fix it in a vertical position (eg, with Chinese sticks as shown in the photo) and finally fill it with pre-melted paraffin.
