The water heater has a cylindrical body 1 with supports 7. At the bottom 2 an electrode system in the form of a package of plates is installed on the studs of current leads 3 4. To ensure current symmetry during the operation of the electrodes, protective dielectric screens 5 are used. The heater power is controlled by changing the active height of the electrodes, for which movable dielectric screens 6 are used, which are pushed into the interelectrode space using a manual drive.

The number of working electrodes depends on the heater power and is equal to 3n + 1, where n is an integer. The volume of water enclosed between two adjacent plates creates a working resistance under line voltage. With four plates (n = 1) there are three such resistances and they form a “triangle” switching circuit, with n = 2 - "double triangle" scheme. In the absence of electrical insulation on the inner surface of the heater housing, due to the resistance of current leakage to the housing, an additional “star” switching circuit is created, which can develop a power equal to 0.15 ... 0.2 of the rated power of the heater.

High-voltage electrode heaters KEV for a voltage of 6 and 10 kV, with a power of 2500, 6000 and 10,000 kW, with a maximum water temperature of 130 and 150 ° C and a pressure of up to 1.2 MPa, usually have cylindrical electrode systems consisting of three or six single-phase groups. The groups are formed by coaxially located phase and zero electrodes, between which there are movable dielectric cylinders for power control.

Figure 2.7 shows the electrode water heater EPZ-100. It is a cylindrical steel body 3, covered with thermal insulation 2 and a metal casing 7. Two branch pipes are welded into the body for water inlet and outlet. 9 and 7. In the gaps between the electrodes, two insulating cylindrical screens made of fiberglass are introduced, fixed on a common traverse. Wiring diagram water heater EPZ-100 (Fig. 2.8) provides for both automatic and manual control modes.

With the help of the water heater circuit, control of the magnitude of the linear current is provided; emergency power off in case of short circuits, when the set outlet water temperature rises and when a current equal to 25% of the rated line current appears in the neutral wire.

To prevent the operation of the water heater without circulation of heated water, an auxiliary contact is provided in the control circuit KM2, which closes only after the pump is turned on. Thus, when the water heater is connected to the network, the drive of the circulation pump is first turned on, and then the circuit breaker QS. Switch SA set to the position corresponding to the selected mode of operation.

In manual mode SA put in the "hand" position. The relay winding receives power KL2, which by its contact KL2:1 closes the contactor circuit KM. The contactor is activated and excludes the water heater from the network. To turn off the water heater SA put in the "O" position.

For operation in automatic mode, the minimum setting (contact SK1: 2) and maximum setting (contact SK1:7) water temperature control sensor SK1 set to a temperature that differs by 1 ... 2 ° C from the nominal, respectively, in the lower and upper sides (for example, 94 and 96 ° C). Switch SA put in the "Auto" position.

The electrical circuit provides protection of the water heater from emergency conditions. So, if at the maximum setting of the temperature sensor SK1 for some reason the relay KL1 does not work, then the emergency temperature sensor comes into action SK2, whose setting is 1...2 °C higher than the maximum setting SK1. Contact SK2 closes, and as a result of the sequential switching on and off of a number of contacts, the contactor winding KM loses power and the water heater is disconnected from the mains.

The circuit also provides protection in case of an unacceptable asymmetry of supply voltages or phase failure, when a potential of a dangerous value may appear on the heater body. As a result, a current appears in the neutral wire, and if its value is more than 25% of the rated current of the heater, then the current relay is activated. KA and turns off the power. To reconnect the water heater to the network, you must also install a switch SA first to the "O" position, and then to one of the operating modes.

4. Device and principle of operation.

The principle of operation of the electric boiler is to directly heat the water electric shock, which passes directly through the volume of water in the boiler.

Structurally, the electric boiler is a vessel cylindrical shape, which is a hot water chamber. Inside the vessel there is a block of phase electrodes. A three-phase voltage is applied to the electrodes along the current-carrying studs through the bushings electrical network 380 V 50 Hz.

In the control cabinet there is an adjusting device Termodat-14. With the help of this device, the power is regulated from 1 to 100%, the device works according to the pulse number method.

5. Preparation for work.

6. Order of work.

The power regulator sets the power consumption so that the room temperature meets sanitary standards.
