Aqualey is essentially a system of fittings and tubes that can be neatly routed from under-sink filters to your coffee machine. Optionally, an additional tap is installed to turn off the water supply for a long absence or in case of cleaning the coffee machine for greater peace of mind. However, enough to consider, let's collect. I connected Melitta Caffeo Varianza to the water supply and this is what it looked like:

I start with the help of fittings and a knife to assemble the tube configuration I need. This step requires attention! First I try everything. Before starting the process, I recommend straightening all segments of the tubes (since they come in a twisted form, they have a slight curvature when unpacking). At the first stage, I try it on without cutting it under the complete faucet (with a blue valve). On last step I will simply insert it into a suitable segment, accurately understanding the future wiring from the machine under the countertop and further to the filter under the sink.

At this moment, I decide to slightly change the location of the coffee machine on the table and outweigh Aqualey by back wall tank. In addition, after carefully reading the instructions again, I conclude that I initially forgot to cut a corner at the round white sticker to fix the fasteners, and glued it strictly opposite the long white bolt. In fact, you need to make a small corner cutout and stick the resulting semicircle “above” the bolt. In this case, the sticker acts as a spacer between the inlet pipe and the mounting bolt (see photo below):

Now I finally fix the mount on the tank wall. For better vertical fixation, as indicated in the instructions, I made a cut-out corner in the sticker and placed it in the girth of the bolt.

I bring the Aqualey hose under the countertop to the filter. I carefully cut the blue hose that went from the filter to the faucet at the sink and connect all three connections in a complete tee.

This is what the mounted Aqualey system looks like in my case. The tap that shuts off the water supply to the coffee machine, I decided to place it on the side so that it was at hand and there was no need to climb under the sink. But, in principle, you can choose any other place for its tie-in.

Now the coffee machine can be pushed deeper under wall cabinet There is no need to take out the water tank anymore. You just need to leave enough space to make it convenient to fill the grain.

Nuances

Like any potential client, I am primarily concerned about two questions - how reliable is the Aqualey system ( in other words, will the float “turn off” and flood my entire kitchen?) and how the warranty repair departments look at the use of such a system ( Will they refuse to fix my coffee grinder, for example, if I use Aqualey?). Let's take it in order:

1. Reliability and leakage protection. Here I must admit that I did not do a long test, but honestly for a couple of days I tried to get the float valve to “stuck”: I turned it this way and that, turned off and turned on the water, used warm water, turned on the coffee machine so that it vibrated ... But the valve stubbornly worked at the right moment. In general, the design looks quite reliable in new condition. There are no complaints about the tubes and connections themselves - they really inspire confidence, although I am not a plumber.

However, when using the Aqualey system in the office, for peace of mind, I myself would turn off the water supply to the coffee machine with a special tap for the night. Again, it's included.

2. Regarding the warranty, then after interviewing several service centers, I came to the conclusion that they do not have a unified position on the issue of whether a coffee machine upgraded in this way is guaranteed or not. Definitely connecting Aqualey to the coffee machine by tie-in may be a reason for denial of warranty (but may not be). But the supply of water directly from above into the tank can hardly affect the warranty repair. After all, the service center simply will not know that you connected their coffee machine to the water supply, there will be no traces other than a couple of stickers on the machine.

3. Plus of course compatibility issue. The system is simply implemented in coffee machines with top access to the water tank. Moreover, since the diameter of the tube and the dimensions of the other elements are relatively small, the aesthetic appearance suffers little, the system looks quite solid. But if the water tank extends from the front or side, then you will need a tie-in. This involves drilling a small hole with a diameter of 7-8 mm in the body of the coffee machine and the tank itself. The manufacturer showed me several examples of such an implementation, below are a couple of photos. But personally, I can’t say that I would immediately decide on a mortise installation. Still, the hull is damaged.
