Original do-it-yourself flower beds.

Are you not a sculptor at all? But believe me, you can make these creative flower containers.

We need a plastic container, foam plastic, reinforcing mesh. We make a cement solution by adding a spoonful of gypsum directly into the palm with the solution and thus form our “sculpture”

But not all of us are fans of modern abstract art. But you can easily make garden crafts in a classic style.

But, because You are not a sculptor yet, you need a template - it could very well be an old doll.

Because If this is not just a decorative garden figurine, but a flower bed in the shape of a girl’s head, then the top part needs to be cut off.

Then the head is painted. To add texture, the template is first painted with dark gray paint. Allow to dry and apply a layer of lighter paint. After drying, apply a layer of even lighter paint with light strokes.

This is a very simple process, and all the examples of this style that you see in the article were made by teenagers in a craft class.

First, we strengthen the doll using hot glue and a bamboo sushi stick on a heavy stand. By the way, we can also make it from cement. We cut out angel wings from foam plastic and attach them to the doll with hot glue. Let's give the doll a new dress and, with the help of strokes of hot glue, create a more interesting texture on the wings and hair.

We coat our template with a solution of cement and gypsum. Let's paint.

Now, with the help of old toys, you can make almost any garden figurine yourself.

Cat flowerbed.

This cute flowerbed cat is made from a plastic bottle and cement. We will need: cement, sand, plaster, water, large plastic bottle, wire, paint, wooden slats, varnish

The owner of this cat, Natasha Koneva, will tell us how to make such a funny figurine with her own hands. We cut off a plastic bottle - this container will be our flower garden. To prevent the cement from slipping off the plastic, we tightly wrap it with wire. Knock down from slats wooden frame. We attach our plastic container to it.

Knead cement mortar consistency of thick sour cream at the rate of 1 part sand, 1 part cement. We will add gypsum only to the finished portion that we have in our hand, because... the solution with gypsum hardens instantly. We work in rubber gloves.

Take a handful of solution in your hand and add a tablespoon of gypsum to it. Knead it in your hands, roll it into a sausage and attach it to the frame. So, step by step, we apply portions of the solution on top of each other, creating the necessary bulges and smoothing the surface.

We sculpt our cat’s face from small balls of solution in much the same way as we sculpted from plasticine in childhood. In order to small parts held on better; before attaching them to the body, we lubricate the surface of the figure with water.

With a damp hand we polish the surface of our garden figurine. To dry, cover the figurine with cellophane for 3-4 days. On the first day, the figure must be periodically additionally moistened with water. After drying, sand the surface with sandpaper.

You can paint such a figurine water-based paint, enamel, car paints. After painting, coat the surface with varnish. For the winter, the garden figurine must be removed from the street, because... It may crack due to frost. You might also want to get yourself such a wonderful cat.

You can combine cement with other materials. - for the face of this little garden fairy " Ladybug"Took the head of an old doll.

How many interesting and exciting things can be made from polyurethane foam And plastic bottles. Plastic bottles are an affordable and free material that can be found everywhere. You can make various crafts from it, and it is also very convenient for making frame shapes for crafts. You can also make interesting crafts from polyurethane foam, and it’s also very convenient. And if suddenly the figure accidentally breaks, it can be foamed, painted and again we have it like new
Today I want to show you two interesting master manufacturing class giraffe made of polyurethane foam. Both giraffes turned out very beautiful and interesting. The first giraffe is more like a real one, and the second giraffe is more like a fairy-tale character. Despite the fact that both giraffes are different, they turned out to be unique in their own way. The first master class on making a giraffe will be by Elena Sadovskaya. Also, you might be interested to see how Elena made a cobra from polyurethane foam for her garden, see.

To make a giraffe we will need:
* Wire.
* Corrugation.
* Metal-plastic tube.
* Polyurethane foam.
* Acrylic enamel.
* Acrylic lacquer.

Method for making a giraffe from foam:
First, we will make a frame for the giraffe. Elena’s giraffe turned out to be 2 m 15 cm tall, the figure is quite large and therefore the body and legs additionally need to be strengthened with a metal rod. We connect plastic bottles together, use a metal rod instead of a neck, and make legs. We insert the rod into the corrugation, and then into the plastic bottles (we form the body). We make cuts in the bottles and connect the rods inside with wire to make the figure more stable. Then we form the neck also from corrugation and wire. We make the length of the neck according to your wishes, as you intended.

Then, when our frame is ready, we use polyurethane foam to increase the required volume of the entire figure, except for the head... In order to save on foam, the volume can be increased with improvised materials. It can be anything: newspapers, bags, polyethylene, etc. True, Elena did not do this on this figure. Therefore, it took 4 cylinders to make giraffe foam. Well, we all learn from mistakes. Elena tried different foams, but she liked Titan foam the best, she can long time is in the gun and does not dry out. That is, you can work slowly and with better quality.

We make the giraffe's head separately. The basis is also an irreplaceable plastic bottle small size. We also cut out the ears from the bottle, first foam them to the required volume, and only then apply them to the head. Giraffes have large eyes, so buttons won't work. Elena found a rubber ball at home (she bought it from a vending machine for her granddaughter). I cut it in half and it was just the right size. I drew eyes on the ball and covered them with nail polish several times.

We bring our heads to the right size, and then connect it to the neck corrugation.

We polish the neck and increase the required volume along the frame. Then, when the figure dries, we cut off all excess from it. The last layer of foam is leveling (apply in small drops, twisting the gun as much as possible.) Tighten the hole for the foam harder and begin to fill the dimples, pressing a little with the gun. When the droplets are small, the foam does not increase much. And, of course, with wet hands, when the foam sets, we do not press down, but smooth out the figure.

When the giraffe dries well, we begin painting. Let's color it acrylic enamel. We cover acrylic varnish for outdoor work. That's it, the giraffe made from polyurethane foam and bottles is ready. We admire the work done.

In her work, Elena also uses acrylate-based aqualac for interior and exterior work, colorless. It looks white, but when it dries it becomes transparent and does not turn yellow. It's not stated on the tin, but it looks like a semi-matte finish. Not expensive for the price. He also takes regular colors in small plastic bottles; they mix well with acrylic, as with any other paint. I used colored ones before acrylic paints from art stores, but for foam figures it costs a lot and is expensive. Also important point: when making figures from foam, you do not need to putty them; practice has shown that over time the figures begin to crack. Don’t look at how rough the figure is, it is smooth to the touch and neither dust nor dirt lingers on it.

Giraffe made of polyurethane foam and bottles

We will also look at another master class on making a giraffe, the author is Nadezhda Vilesova. Nadezhda told us a little about how to make this craft and shared the manufacturing process with us.
We create a frame from scrap materials; to make a giraffe, 2 five-liter cans were used for the frame. Then we insert four plastic tubes into the canisters, in the place where our legs will be. We secure everything with tape, and then apply the required volume using polyurethane foam.

When everything is well dry, create a mold, and then mix cement with gypsum 2:4. We put in a smaller portion of plaster. Mix well and begin to sculpt very quickly, as the plaster hardens quickly.

We wait for it to dry well and then paint the finished giraffe beautifully. Again we wait for it to dry and paint it with varnish.

Also using this MK you can make such a funny donkey from polyurethane foam.

Material selection

Anything can come into play. More often country decorations made from the following materials:

  • tree;
  • gypsum;
  • plastic bottles;
  • car tires;
  • polyurethane foam.

The first and most basic rule is garden sculptures must match general style garden And appearance house. You should not make figures based only on your own imagination. The figures must be made not just beautiful, but in such a way that they fit into the surrounding space, otherwise they will not become a decoration, but, on the contrary, will disfigure the whole picture.

For example, if you have garden plot issued in Japanese style, then the figures must be Japanese. Palm trees, gnomes, and mushrooms will look absolutely ridiculous here.

If your site is decorated in a romantic style, then perfect optiongarden figures made of plaster in the form of hearts, doves, flowers, angels. They will fit perfectly into a high-tech garden. metal constructions. If your site has a rustic style, then plaster figurines created in the form of mushrooms, trees, flowers, etc. will fit well here.

One of the conditions that should be met when decorating a garden with sculptures is moderation. You should not clutter the area too much with figures, otherwise you risk turning the garden into a museum. Too much decoration will look tacky. They should only complement the space and not come to the fore.

Another important principle is the figures must fit in size. If they grow on the site big trees, then the decorations should be massive. Small figurines here will be invisible and lost. Large figures in a small garden where there are no tall trees, they will look ridiculous.

If you are making several sculptures, then they must fit together by topic, color scheme, in shape, material of manufacture. Metal and plaster figures should not be placed nearby. Jewelry in Japanese and rustic styles at the same time, etc.

After the plumage is ready, cuts are made in the body of the bird in the number of feathers expected. Each part is attached to a notch.

Now it's time to make the neck and head. The rod that was attached to the hole on the bottle cap must be covered with a hose. The flamingo's neck is ready. The head is cut out of a bottle. The beak can be made from wood, plaster or foam.

Now let's make the legs. To do this, the two remaining metal rods are inserted into the holes at the bottom of the bottle and carefully secured.

On last stage you can decorate the bird as your imagination dictates.

On average, flamingos are 1.5 meters tall. You can make it higher or lower. But you should remember that the figure should not be too large.

Or, for example, build a scene from some cartoon that you loved as a child or that your children (grandchildren) love now.

You can make anything from wood, even an exotic giraffe.

Materials and tools:

In order for the figure to be stable, you need to do for it foundation. It is necessary to dig a small hole and pour cement solution into it. Immerse future giraffe legs in it and leave to harden.

The next stage is making the head. It is made from a canister. If the canister has a handle, then it needs to be cut off. Two holes are cut at the proposed crown. Branches are inserted into them - these will be the giraffe's horns. You need to make slits on the sides for the ears. Ears are cut out of a plastic bottle. The snag will serve as the body.

To fasten the torso and head, a hole is cut in the canister, which serves as the head. Now the head is put on the body.
