We make a pond at the dacha with our own hands. How to make a pond in the garden and on a summer cottage with your own hands - photos of small ponds from a bathtub and a tire

Nice decoration cottage or garden is a pond. Many people try to bring the landscape of their land closer to nature. Water has magical properties and always attracts the eyes and thoughts of people to itself. Almost always the concept of relaxation is combined with the concept of relaxation by the water.

But many summer cottages have neither streams nor lakes. Very often they are not even nearby, but you really want a good rest in nature. But there is a way out.

Having your own pond in your dacha is real

A small, self-made pond will become a favorite vacation spot. This man-made miracle can make your dreams of yours come true. decorative pond in the garden or at the dacha and even become a platform for aquatic floriculture.

With the help of a film waterproof coating, you can make a reservoir of any shape and different area: from the smallest to reservoirs of a fairly large area. It all depends on the size of the plot and the landscape design plan.

Using various decorative materials and decorations, you can give the pond the appearance of a natural mountain reservoir or, conversely, a landscaped swimming pool. Using a pump, you can make a waterfall or fountain, or create an imitation of a mountain stream. You can add fish to the pond and plant aquatic plants. In combination with decorative elements, all this looks impressive and creates a favorable atmosphere.

You can make a small mini pond at your dacha with your own hands on almost any site, with any soil, and you don’t need any equipment or complex devices for this.

For this you will need the following materials:

  • special film for creating ponds;
  • geotextiles;
  • sand;
  • decorative stones;
  • hose for supplying water to the pool;
  • scissors;
  • shovel;
  • level.

PVC film or butyl rubber is used as a waterproofing film for ponds.

It is better to purchase a special film in the appropriate store. For small pools you can safely use PVC film. But if you are seriously interested in landscape design and want to make an original pond using decorative forms and plants, it is better to use butyl rubber. This material is very flexible, elastic, durable (service life more than 30 years). In addition, if some changes suddenly occur and you decide to change the shape of the pond, you can reuse this film.

Pond construction in the photo

You need to start by deciding on the location and shape of the pond. You also need to decide what this reservoir will be used for. If fish will be bred in it in the future, then the depth of the deepest part of the pond should be at least 1.5-2.0, and for the northern regions, more, meters. This is necessary so that the reservoir does not freeze in winter and the fish have a place to winter. The deep place itself should not be very large, and even small reservoirs can contain fish.

The minimum depth of the reservoir is usually no less than 50-80 cm. At a shallower depth, the water will overheat in summer and this will lead to the development of unfavorable flora in the reservoir. And in winter, accordingly, such a pond will freeze and the plants and microorganisms that inhabited it will not survive.

The bottom of the pond is most often made into ledges. The topography of the bottom of the reservoir has several zones:

  • coastal;
  • shallow water;
  • deep zone.

The coastal zone is usually a small strip along the coast. Its depth is about 15-20 cm. The shallow water zone can be decorated with small stones or tiles. Shallow water is considered to be a depth of up to 50 cm. Plants are grown here. This is a place for decorative compositions, which can be made from groups of large stones using decorative ornaments.

The deep zone in ordinary decorative ponds is most often 80-120 cm. Here, too, you can plant plants that grow at depth. Most often water lilies (nymphs) are planted there.

There are many varieties that tolerate winter well and are adapted for cold winters. They bloom for almost six months, starting from the end of April and right up to mid-October. It turns out to be a very beautiful flowering pond.

If the pond is made only for growing plants, then it does not have to be deep. A depth of 60-90 cm is quite sufficient. It is at this depth that it is recommended to plant nymphs in the regions of the middle and northern zone. It is better to make the mirror of the reservoir itself as large as possible, so that they have room to grow, because... one plant can occupy a fairly large area on the surface of the water.

For good flowering, nymphs (also known as lilies and water lilies) need a lot of light. This must be taken into account when choosing a location for a pond. There are more shade-loving lilies, but they also need lighting for 4-5 hours a day. There are a large number of varieties of nymphs and a variety of colors: from white and white-pink to red and dark purple.

Pontederia and nymphs in a pond

To frame the pond and shallow water area, it is also better to choose plants that grow well in this climatic region. The pond then looks natural and does not require much maintenance. It is best to use traditional plants: sedge, reed, reed, cattail. Among the flowering ones, you can plant arrowhead, pontederia, loosestrife (plakun-grass), and lungwort.

Loosestrife

Loosestrife has not only decorative qualities, it is also medicinal plant. The marsh iris looks very beautiful. But in the coastal zone of the reservoir, both on the shore and in shallow water, decorative irises also grow well, because they love water very much and go well with herbaceous coastal plants.

Step-by-step instruction

How to do it decorative pond at the dacha or in the garden with your own hands? Let's consider step by step instructions with photo.

Step 1. Marking and planning the site. The contour of the pond is drawn on the selected area. Projections of all depth contours are also plotted.

Markings can be made by laying a rope or hose on the surface. You can draw contour lines with sand.

Before you start digging a pit, you need to make a vertical layout of the area where the pond will be located. In order to prevent water from flowing out of one of the low edges of the reservoir, it is necessary to check the horizontal level along the entire planned edge of the reservoir. The plane of the entire edge must be horizontal, at the same level.

This can be checked using a long stick and a level. Or, hammer in pegs at opposite edges of the pool, stretch a rope over them and then attach a level to it. If in some places the ground surface is below the required level, then it is necessary to add soil there.

Step 2. Pit. After leveling the area, we begin to dig out the pit. It should be made 5-10 cm deeper than the design depth of the pond.

The bottom is thoroughly cleaned of remnants of vegetation, roots and stones. It is important to do this carefully, because... stones and other objects can subsequently damage the waterproofing film. Sand is poured into the bottom in a layer of 5 cm and tamped into the ground.

Around the contour of the pond, at a short distance from it - about 20 cm, a small trench is dug. The approximate width and depth of the trench are 15-20 cm. The edge of the film will be fixed in it.

Step 3. Determining the dimensions of the waterproofing film. To determine the overall dimensions of the film, it is necessary to measure the length and width of the bottom of the pit in the widest places. This can be conveniently done using cords that are laid out along the bottom. To the resulting length you need to add 50 cm on each side, which are needed for arranging the coastline.

Step 4. Cover the bottom with geotextile and waterproofing film. First, the bottom is lined with a layer of geotextile. This protects the waterproofing film from possible damage.

The film itself is placed on top, carefully filling all the bends of the relief. If the project provides for the future supply of water through a hose that is placed on the bottom, then it can be hidden in the folds of the film.

We press the film well to the ground and temporarily fix it with stones so that it does not move. The film should also be inserted into the groove that was dug around the pool. The film is pressed with something heavy for temporary fixation. But they don’t fall asleep yet, because... During the process of filling the pool with water, the film may still move.

Step 5. Arrangement of the deep zone. If the project involves planting plants in the deep zone, then now is the time to install them there.

Plants are planted in special containers. The container is filled with substrate. The containers are installed in the desired location on the bottom of the pool. Stones are also placed on the bottom if they are provided for in the project. Large stones look beautiful at the bottom.

Step 6. Fill the pond with water. After laying the film, you can fill the deep zone of the pond with water. Water should be poured with low pressure so that the pool fills gradually. Thus, water, squeezing air out from under the film, will smoothly occupy the required space and form the bottom. The film may move slightly until it reaches correct position under water pressure.

If you pour water quickly, excess stress may occur in the film or air voids underneath it, which can lead to tearing of the film in the future.

Step 7. Planting in shallow and coastal areas. Containers with appropriate plants are installed in the shallow and coastal zone of the pond. Crushed stone is poured around the containers. They also lay out larger stones that can protrude from the water, creating islands. In the coastal zone, the bottom is usually covered with small pebbles. After installing the flowerpots, the pond is filled to the brim with water.

Step6. Securing the edges of the film. Creation of an earthen castle. After the pond is completely filled with water and the film is completely in place, you can begin to construct an earthen castle, which will finally fix the film in the desired position. It will also serve as a barrier between the aquatic environment and the soil so that these environments do not mix, and the reservoir has a clear line.

The edges of the film lead into this trench, which was dug around the pond. Crushed stone is poured on top of the film. It will serve as a fixing weight to hold the film. Next, the trench is filled with earth and a small earthen ridge is made along the contour of the pond.

Unnecessary edges of the film are cut off.

Step 7. Arrangement of the coastline. The next stage is arranging the frame of the pond. Depending on the design, you can make stone or tile paving on the shore.

If the pond was created in the form of an imitation of a natural reservoir, then it is enough to lay out several large stones. Paths are made along the line of the pond, and a bridge can be made across the pond itself. Here you can give free rein to your imagination and create a pond entirely with your own hands as you please.

The pond in the garden is a wonderful place to relax on a hot summer day. Those lucky people whose dachas are located on the banks of a river or lake are incredibly lucky. If there is no natural pond nearby, you will have to build an artificial pond yourself.

We outline an action plan

First, let's try to figure out where to place a man-made pond in the country. It is advisable to allocate a place for it at the design stage of a summer cottage. The pond must meet the following criteria:

  • be on open place– leaves and branches from trees will clog the water, and roots will damage the artificial bottom of the pond;
  • do not be exposed to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight - constantly heated water provokes the rapid development of microorganisms and algae. The pond will quickly become cloudy and begin to emit an unpleasant musty odor.

It would be useful to provide for the option of expanding the surface of a man-made lake over time. Perhaps you would like to transform the mini-pond into a full-fledged water complex - with a bridge and a small fountain.

Experienced builders recommend making the pond shallow - after all, it is used primarily as a beautiful detail of the surrounding landscape. In addition, immediately think about how you are going to care for the pond. Make a convenient approach to the pond - of course, not through the garden or alpine slides.

You will have to change the water yourself, because it is not purified naturally, like in natural lakes and rivers. Therefore, make sure that the tap at the dacha is located in close proximity to the artificial reservoir.

Choosing the base material

Before you grab a shovel, decide what will serve as the basis for an artificial pond. There are several standard solutions. Let's look at the advantages and disadvantages of popular options.

Reinforced concrete structure

Using this material you can create a long-lasting pond. The bottom and banks, filled with concrete and reinforced with reinforcement, will withstand various additional loads - installation of a fountain, for example, or sculptural compositions on the banks.

The complexity of the process makes it impractical to use this technology for the construction of small reservoirs or decorative ponds in the country. The negative aspects of this solution include the high cost of constructing man-made lakes made of reinforced concrete. You will have to use a lot of building materials and rent special equipment. Dismantling the structure will also cause difficulties, so you must immediately carefully consider the location of the pond.

PVC film

This is a budget solution for creating a simple country pond. The shape and depth of such a structure can be easily changed, and the dimensions can also be expanded or reduced. A pond with a PVC base is often made seasonal - for example, it is filled in for the winter and re-arranged in the spring.

The disadvantages of this solution include the fragility and fragility of the film coating - this material can be easily damaged, and if the seal is broken, the water from the pond will quickly go into the ground. Therefore, it is not recommended to swim or play in such home lakes; they are intended to decorate a summer cottage.

Artificial store ponds

This option is the golden mean for those who dream of their own pond and at the same time do not want to bother with materials to create it. Store-bought molds for artificial reservoirs are made from strong and durable materials - polyvinyl chloride or fiberglass.

The last option is much more expensive. But the cost of such a product is fully compensated by the high performance characteristics of the material. It’s easy to install such a form yourself, without involving friends or acquaintances in the process. The disadvantage of this option is that the pit will have to be dug under the mold, and not vice versa.

In this case, the opportunity to use the unevenness of the terrain to create natural coastal contours is lost. In addition, the method will cost much more than using film or improvised materials. The photo below shows a finished form for arranging a pond at the dacha.

Making a pond from scrap materials

Another interesting option– use of various containers that have become unusable. Old cast iron baths, troughs, vagons - all unnecessary packaging useful for construction.

The advantages of this method are that you don’t have to buy standard forms or build bulky ones. reinforced concrete structures. The disadvantages include the low decorative quality of old containers - you will have to show imagination and skill to make, for example, a small pond in the Japanese style from a dilapidated trough.

Tire mini pond

For those who have a catastrophic lack of space at their dacha, craftsmen recommend using a simple and convenient tire pond. Old car tires are dug in, a film is laid inside, and the banks of the mini-reservoir are decorated according to your own wishes.

The result sometimes surprises even experienced landscape designers - the finished pond at the dacha becomes an exclusive detail personal plot. For example, who will say that this pond in the photo is made from old car tire?

Pit

Once the material has been selected, it is time to begin earthworks. It is best to do this in the summer, when groundwater will leave as much as possible. The depth of the hole is calculated based on the material chosen as the basis. If this is a ready-made form or old bath, dig a pit 20-30 cm deeper than the tank parameters.

If you plan to build a pond made of PVC film, you will have to dig to a depth of about 80 cm, since the shallow reservoir will completely freeze in winter and quickly dry out in the summer heat. For ponds made of reinforced concrete, they dig a pit over one and a half meters deep - here you can’t do without special equipment.

Technology for constructing a film reservoir

When the pit is ready, all that remains is to clean the bottom and make small terraces about a third of a meter deep and up to 20 cm wide on the sides of the future mini-lake. The bottom of the reservoir is compacted, stones, crushed stone, pebbles, and foreign objects are removed. The cleaned surface of the pit is sprinkled with washed sand and lined with geotextile fabric. Such preparation of the bottom will significantly increase the strength and service life of the coating.

The next stage is laying the film. The size of the canvas is calculated as follows: it is necessary to add the length of the coastline with twice the depth of the reservoir. The material is fixed on the terraces with a margin of about 50 cm. The laid film is laid with bricks or stones - this is done to maintain its shape.

Then they fill the pond with water, check the tightness of the film and begin work on the design of the coastline. Do not cut off the remaining film under the bricks too quickly. It will serve as a hydrosealant during the construction of the blind area.

We are building a pond from an old tank

To create a country mini-lake from an unnecessary bathtub or other container you will need:

  • a piece of mesh;
  • some crushed stone;
  • decorative stones;
  • a coil of aluminum or steel wire;
  • cement, sand or ready-mixed concrete.

After the foundation pit has been dug and a bathtub has been installed in it (30 centimeters below ground level), they begin to develop the coastline. To do this, the entire perimeter of the future pond is removed upper layer soil at least 40 cm wide and dig a trench, the depth of which reaches the upper edge of the installed container.

To give a natural look to the man-made lake, tile adhesive is applied to the bottom and walls of the bathtub. After the treatment, the container is allowed to dry thoroughly - this usually takes at least two days.

Then a chain-link mesh is laid around the entire perimeter of the bathtub, which is necessary to reinforce the sides and bottom of the pond. They apply it to her concrete mortar or sand-cement mixture and allow to dry. Next comes the turn decorative design banks: planting plants, decorating with stones, paving paths, installing figures and other design techniques.

Pond from a ready-made mold

The pit prepared for the reservoir is cleared of branches, piles of earth and other debris. The bottom and walls of the pit are compacted. If the soil at the dacha is too loose, they are strengthened. Perfect for the finished form Smooth surface pit. The plane is leveled using a building level.

The bottom of the future pond is covered with clean, washed sand, which is also compacted. This layer ensures the integrity of the finished form.

After this, the container is placed in a pit and filled with water. Empty places Between the sides of the mold and the walls, the pits are filled with sand, and this is done gradually. First, pour a layer 25-30 cm thick and water it with water. After the sand is evenly distributed, the steps are repeated until the space between the installed bowl and the walls of the pit is completely filled.

Carrying out this procedure is mandatory, since the shape for an artificial reservoir is quite fragile and easily deformed. Even pressure on all sides will prevent warping.

After 24 hours, check the gap between the sides of the container and the walls of the pit: if there are voids, add sand to them. Then the water is pumped out of the pond, the mold is finally washed and filled with clean water.

The final stage is decorating the finished mini-lake at your discretion. There are no strict rules or trends here. Just make sure that your dacha pond brings pleasure and joy. After all, that is precisely why it is installed.

How nice in hot weather summer time spend a few hours by a shady pond or lake! Of course, it's great if there is one in the neighborhood. However, most often we spend our free summer days at the dacha, and not everyone has the funds for a large Vacation home and landscape designer services. In this case, there is nothing left but to make a pond with your own hands, especially since it is not so difficult.

It all depends on your imagination, the size of the area and what you have on hand. If you put in a little effort and Money, then the country pond will not only delight you, but also cause burning envy among your neighbors.

The size and shape of yours primarily depend on the area of the plot allocated for these purposes. But the larger the pond area, the easier it is to care for - a small one needs to be cleaned more often. If you are planning to get fish and plant a lot aquatic plants, then a small reservoir will also not suit you, because it is very difficult to maintain the correct eco-balance in it.

The most best place for a home pond there will be an open part of the site, at the same time protected from strong winds. You should not place the pond in a well-lit place: the location should be such that Sun rays do not fall into the water for more than 6 hours in a row, otherwise it will bloom and only frogs will be able to live there. A dubious prospect, right? At the same time, if the lighting is insufficient, the plants will develop slowly, and you won’t get a beautiful place to relax.

If you decide to build a small fountain, you will definitely need a pond diagram in order to properly connect the pump and other equipment. With a little effort, you can draw up a plan yourself. Of course, you will also need to consider the proximity of the power supply network.

You should not locate your home pond under the canopy of trees. Firstly, this will lead to additional contamination of the water with fallen leaves, and the pond will have to be cleaned much more often, and secondly, the roots of the tree can damage the bed of the tank, and it will quickly dry out.

And, of course, the whole idea will become useless if you cannot enjoy beautiful view from a window or from a terrace, so when planning to make a pond on your property with your own hands, do not forget about the aesthetic side of the issue.

Home pond on a rigid basis

If you are a supporter of solid, durable construction, then you can approach the process on a grand scale: dig a foundation pit of sufficient size and use metal fittings and cement to cast a reinforced concrete bowl of the pond. Such a design will certainly cost a lot, but it will last for many years (at least 30). If you are not a follower of the global approach, you can get by with a simpler and cheaper option.

So, how to do it One of the most basic ways to make your dream come true is a ready-made “bowl”, which can be purchased in a store. Perhaps the main disadvantage of this option is that you have to come up with your own original form reservoir will not be possible, you will have to be content with the offered assortment.

The most inexpensive solution is a small plastic pond, from 4 to 8 m2. Of course, there are larger molds, but they already belong to the category of pools and are much more expensive. When choosing a container, you should definitely pay attention to its depth - it should be at least 0.8-1 meters. In summer, the water in such a pond will warm up completely, and all its inhabitants will be comfortable, but in winter, such a pond will not freeze to the bottom, which is also very important.

If you decide to organize a pond on your site with your own hands and want to use a ready-made base for this, then first of all you need to study the materials from which the forms are made - there are also several nuances here.

The simplest and cheapest option may be a regular plastic container, but it has its drawbacks. First of all, you need to be very careful when transporting and installing - such a tank can crack even with slight bending. Plastic also tends to break down from sunlight, which means that the service life of such a product is not too long - 5-10 years.

If you want your pond to last longer, choose forms made of special reinforced plastic - they have a much longer service life (up to 20 years). Such tanks are more flexible and less susceptible to ultraviolet radiation.

The highest quality and, of course, most expensive are products made from fiberglass on a rubber base. This form is resistant to temperature changes, does not deteriorate from exposure to sunlight and does not release into water harmful substances, which is very important for the inhabitants of the reservoir. Such a tank will last more than 30 years, in addition, it can be repaired, which extends the time of use for an almost unlimited period.

Constructing ponds from a fiberglass bathtub is a simple process, and the result is quite aesthetic, since these forms come in different colors, and some are even coated with a coating that imitates stones, sand or small pebbles. This allows you to beautifully disguise the edges of the pond and give it the most natural look.

We build it ourselves

So, in order to build a pond on the site with your own hands, first of all you need to decide on the location and shape of the reservoir. Have you decided? Let's start construction work:

  1. First, we mark the outline of the pit. This is very simple to do - place the shape in the desired place and outline its silhouette using a regular bayonet shovel, pressing the handle tightly against the edge of the bath.
  2. Add about 20 cm to the resulting outline to fill the plastic pond with sand.
  3. If you purchased a form with ledges, then each level needs to be marked and dug separately, from largest to smallest, and do not forget to add 10-15 cm on each floor for a sand base.
  4. When the pit is ready, its edges should be thoroughly leveled and compacted, all glass, stones and tree roots should be removed. If this is not done, the mold may be damaged. Then you need to pour and carefully compact sand in a layer of at least 10 cm - this will protect your pond from subsidence.
  5. Place the plastic mold and make sure that it is level, you can use the rule for this. Then carefully fill the pond by about a third with water, being careful not to move it.
  6. Carefully fill the gaps between the edge of the pit and the mold with sand. In this case, you need to make sure that there are no voids left. Why periodically water the soil with water, but try not to let the pressure be too strong.

During the week after installation, regularly water the soil around the pond and add sand as needed. After the soil subsidence stops, you can completely fill the reservoir, decorate the edges of the pond bowl with stones, flagstone and plant ornamental plants.

Country pond made of flexible materials

Now let's talk about how to make a pond on your site if it is not possible to purchase a ready-made container or you want to arrange a large pond of a bizarre shape.

The most budget option in this case, the use of ordinary polyethylene with a thickness of at least 500 microns will be used. However, despite the fact that it is quite inexpensive, this coating has quite a lot of disadvantages. The fact is that polyethylene is a fairly thin material, it is very easy to damage, and under the influence of sunlight it becomes brittle and quickly collapses. A pond on a polyethylene backing will last you a maximum of 2-3 years.

PVC film for a pond is also not a very expensive material, but much more durable; such a coating can withstand 8-10 years. Polyvinyl chloride coating can be regular or two-layer, in which a woven mesh is laid for strength. Of course, PVC has the same disadvantages as polyethylene - it is destroyed by ultraviolet radiation, it is easily cut and torn, but, unlike the latter, it can be repaired. Special kits are sold for this. Besides, PVC is better stretches, and after filling the pond with water, most folds stretch and straighten over time.

The most expensive, but at the same time the highest quality coating is made from butyl rubber: the service life of such material is about 50 years, and it does not mind the sun's rays. In addition, butyl rubber is resistant to low temperatures, so you don't have to drain the pond water into winter time. This is a very flexible and plastic material that can withstand significant loads, so if you decide to equip a spacious pond unusual shape, you simply cannot do without it.

Marking the pit

To build a pond on your site with your own hands, you will need:

  • pegs;
  • rope;
  • film coating;
  • geotextile or felt;
  • sand;
  • crushed stone or large pebbles;
  • shovel;
  • special kit for film coating repair;
  • bricks;
  • garden hose for watering;

Using string and pegs, you need to mark the desired shape of the pit and begin excavation work. If you are planning to make a pond quite large sizes, you can use an excavator. During the work, it is necessary to ensure that ledges and slopes alternate; this will make the banks of the pond more stable. It is also necessary to provide terraces (at least 30 cm wide) for planting. Descents from one level to another must be made fairly flat, with an inclination angle of up to 45˚.

It is worth remembering that the depth of the pond should not be less than 80 cm, otherwise in winter the water in it will freeze to the bottom and its inhabitants will die. Thus, you need to dig a pit approximately 15-20 centimeters larger than the expected size of the reservoir. This is necessary in order to be able to fill the terraces and the bottom of the pond with sand, in order to avoid subsidence and damage to the film. The sand cushion must be carefully leveled and compacted, after removing all pebbles, sharp sticks and plant roots from the bottom.

Drainage and waterproofing

When the sand drainage pad is ready, we move on to the next stage of work. In order for the pond film to remain intact for as long as possible, you need to lay geotextiles on a layer of sand, preferably in 2 layers. Next, we straighten the film itself and secure it to the banks using bricks or large stones. Don’t try to necessarily straighten and spread out all the folds - let the water do it for you.

We place the flexible one so that its end is in the center of the future reservoir, and we begin to supply water, making sure that the pressure is not too strong. As the pond fills with water, partially release the edges of the film and spread it along the slopes of the pit. After the reservoir is filled to the brim, leave it for 1-2 days. During this time, under the weight of water, the film will expand and fill all the voids.

After it has completely subsided, you need to cut off the excess parts, leaving at least 40-50 cm for arranging the banks. The edges are secured with pegs or special metal arches, and then masked with flagstone, large stones and pebbles. It's time to install the pump, decorate the hoses from the fountains and start planting plants.

Pond above ground at the dacha

When there are kids in the family, one of the main problems when building a pond is how to make the pond safe. It is best if such a reservoir is slightly raised above the soil surface. Firstly, this makes caring for it much easier, and secondly, the risk of small children or pets accidentally falling into it is significantly reduced.

In this case, you cannot do without a reinforced concrete foundation. Dig a pit for the pond in its deepest part, form terraces for plants, just as in the previous case. Along the banks of the reservoir, using wooden formwork, pour a concrete foundation of the required height; for strength, it can be reinforced with metal mesh. After the foundation has completely dried and settled (this will take at least two days), the formwork can be removed and the inner walls can be plastered until smooth. This will help prevent the film from tearing. We line the bottom of the pit with it and fill the bowl with water. In this case, we secure the edges of the material so that they are behind the concrete fence. After the pond is filled, let the water settle, cut off the excess film, secure it and decorate the edges of the bowl.

Inventory: what you will need

Of course, building ponds is not an easy task, but what can you do for your loved one, because if everything is organized correctly, the result will please the eye for many years.

However, it is not enough to build a home pond - you also need to take care of it. Here are some technical devices that will be very useful to you:

Rules for caring for a country pond

A pond in the garden is, of course, very beautiful, but if you do not want to become the happy owner of a personal swamp in which frogs croak in the evenings, then you need to properly care for it. First of all, you need to make sure that the water in it does not bloom. Of course, it is best to purchase a special cleansing system, but, unfortunately, this is not a cheap pleasure. However, there is something else, more accessible remedy: take a canvas bag and fill it. Place this “surprise” under water, and there will be practically no algae left at the bottom of the pond.

It is also necessary to carefully monitor the cleanliness of the reservoir - regularly remove debris from the surface and add water as it evaporates. If your pond is small, then it is recommended to completely drain it in winter, and for large tanks it is necessary to completely clean it at least 2-3 times a year, and the water must be completely pumped out.

From what's at hand

But what should those whose plot size does not allow them to place even a small pond? Don’t be upset: a small pond can also be arranged in the front garden by adapting a trimmed piece of water for this purpose. metal barrel or just a big basin. Such a mini-pond can even be placed on the balcony of a city apartment by decorating the container with glued pebbles or mosaics. Of course, you won’t hear the gurgling of a fountain near such a “reservoir,” but you are guaranteed coolness and lush greenery of aquatic plants.
