Modern house designs delight developers with a rich selection of styles and diverse materials for construction and finishing. In order to keep up with trends in housing, people strive to build not only high-quality housing, but also well-thought-out housing in terms of layout and saving free space. Projects of studio houses are considered one of the most laconic and relatively small buildings.

Project and original design home studio

Studio houses are not a single direction of architectural design or distribution of usable space, but whole line layouts and varieties, which include many design solutions. In the recent past, studio projects were most often found in budget apartments, where a living room fit in one room along with the kitchen. However, such a technique as studio layout was adopted by many designers and began to bring the most unusual and creative projects into reality.

Studio houses can be built on several levels and have different... But it’s worth talking about the most popular projects.

High-tech projects

High-tech studios may include one or two floors.

Architecture of a studio house in high-tech style

But also popular are houses that include. However, such buildings are more expensive.

  1. Materials such as brick, gas silicate foam block, SIP panels and monolithic concrete can be used for construction.
  2. The finishing of the facade is planned in the project and allows for all possible types of building materials.
  3. The shape of the roof in high-tech studios is made flat, or butterfly, which adds additional decorativeness. However, the shape of the roof can be figured and multi-level, depending on the design idea.

Log style projects

For country houses and dachas there are projects of studio houses as building material.

Design and interior of a studio house in a log style

Such design solutions quite new and just gaining their popularity, but an attempt to combine studio homes with external or interior decoration in the form of a tree it looks dignified and unusual. The cost of constructing such projects is much cheaper, which allows you to expand the area or build on two levels.

Types of projects

Considering a studio house as future project buildings, you must first determine the type of building material, number of floors and finishing style. Basically, modern studios are built in either modern style, but a special approach and design idea cannot be ruled out, which can be expressed in the construction of a studio from profiled timber.

One-story studio houses

One-story studio houses are usually built for a small family of three people. However, this is not a panacea and it all depends on the design of the project.

The standard design of a one-story studio includes a spatially free environment. The room should have as many useful areas as possible without burdening the area and visual perception.

On average, the area of a one-story studio house can range from 60 to 100 square meters. The toilet and bathroom are enclosed by walls.

The rest of the space, living room and sleeping area. In order to do it correctly, many design tricks and creative techniques. The kitchen area, dining room and living room are usually visually separated from each other.

The distribution of zones in the studio can be as follows:

Finishing walls and ceilings in various colors

Typically, the kitchen area uses tiles or Wall panels. They will differ from the main background of the living room.

Option for designing a kitchen in a studio home

Some projects allow different floor coverings. It allows you to draw boundaries between the dining area and the relaxation area. Various ceiling finishes are also allowed. In the living room it could be suspended ceiling with a crystal chandelier, and in the kitchen there is a pendant with halogen spotlights.

Distribution of zones using lighting

As you know, the play of light can not only change the perception of space, but also visually distribute the space. Many projects do not always use zoning with different finishes and colors. The reason for this is the incredible popularity of the minimalist style, which involves strict finishing in classic colors. Furniture, as a rule, is selected functional with classic shapes.

An example of the layout of a studio house measuring 7 by 8

Background lighting and correctly placed spot lighting allow you to visually create a cozy atmosphere and increase the space.

Glass and figured partitions

In many studio interior design projects, zones are partially delimited by translucent partitions made of tempered glass. But plastic ones with a stamped pattern can also serve as partitions. As for the sleeping area and the location of the bed, it depends on the specific interior design. Basically, the bed is placed in a separate room with full walls and space for a wardrobe.

We thank the organizers for the invitation, and the audience for the warm welcome. See you next year!

Smart planning and quality materials make an ordinary wooden house stylish space, which will not lose its relevance after many years.

TO Creating a beautiful wooden interior is not as easy as it seems. There is always a risk that modern Vacation home will turn into a Soviet-era dacha. However, this task is quite feasible if you choose the right furniture and finishing materials.

Style

The author of the project, architect Stanislav Orekhov (Stanislav Orekhov Design Studio), decided to decorate a country house in the Moscow region in a style that combines elements of classics and art deco. He wanted to give the interior comfort, harmony and functionality, combining all this into classic style in this decision. In the work the designer devoted Special attention selection of furniture, colors and lighting in order to create a single room that does not conflict with general principles wooden house construction.

The color scheme throughout the house is in calm tones, with a lot of textiles and upholstered furniture.

The wooden walls of the house were painted with a special composition, which made them lighter, but at the same time the natural texture of the wood was preserved.

Living room

The living room with a high ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows and a glazed roof makes the room especially solemn. The ceiling is covered with larch with an aged effect, and the floor is dark parquet board made of bog oak, which visually enlarges the room. The sofas, one upholstered in white satin, the other in dark chocolate velvet, are stylishly combined with weightless flowing curtains. The floor is decorated with a natural silk carpet.

Dining room and kitchen

The dining room is cozy due to the low ceiling with dark wood beams, light ceramic tiles on the floor, and the interior has a simple classic dining room and sideboard. As decoration - light curtains that minimally cover the windows.

Cabinet

The owner's office, located on the second floor, is kept in strict english style.

Bedroom and children's room

The second floor is occupied by a master bedroom, a bright bathroom, a children's bedroom and a guest bedroom. In the master bedroom, the walls are varnished and the floor has bog oak parquet.

Bathroom

The spacious bathroom features exquisite finishing touches and plenty of light.

Wooden walls in the bathroom are combined with mosaics from natural stone and Italian solid stone sanitary ware.

The shower cabin has been replaced with a lightweight tray with a waterproof curtain. For the bathroom, sanitary ware was chosen from the Pure Stone collection from Villeroy&Boch.

Well-chosen pieces of furniture and interior details made the space of the house very stylish. At the same time, we managed to maintain comfort in the house. Of course, such an interior will be relevant in 10 years.

Criticism

Natalya Preobrazhenskaya, head of the studio “ Cozy apartment”:

In general, the style in which this project is designed is not bad. The principles of construction have been preserved village house made of wood, which gives the whole appearance a certain originality, despite the fact that the space itself is subject to classical trends. The designer used a color scheme that is pleasing to the eye, just right for a country house.

I liked the idea with a lowered ceiling and wooden beams, which carries with it the breath of the atmosphere of country life.

However, I know from experience that abundance wood finishing may get boring over time. Then it will be necessary to somehow “dilute” the interior with new accents.

Despite a certain “evenness” in style, I would still like to note the note of respectability that accompanies the interior space. This quality is highlighted by English-style furniture, dark wood elements or, on the contrary, the airiness of the space, such as in the bathroom. In general, the interior turned out to be visually quite comfortable and classical in places, but at the same time somewhat authentic, which makes it attractive.

Design studio "Cozy Apartment" was founded in 2003. The studio has participated in many international competitions, among them is the International Architectural Contest.

Stepan Bugaev, art director of the architectural bureau “Victory of Design”:

The color scheme is warm and light, which creates a feeling of comfort and goes well with the texture of the furniture. Classic furniture fits well into the overall interior color of even a wooden house and generally looks harmonious.

In the kitchen there is a quite usual arrangement of kitchen units. Apparently, they tried to support the shape of the ceiling with classical furniture. The bathroom is consistent in color; tiles of different formats are perfectly combined here. Another plus is the use of surfaces and objects in natural shades in the bathroom interior. Gray in color and unusual shape The plumbing harmonizes perfectly with the wood texture of the walls and floor.

The architectural bureau "Victory of Design" is developing the most daring design projects for the future interior of an apartment or house. The bureau's portfolio includes more than 300 completed projects. Among the customers are Capital Group, AFI development, PSN Group, ComStrin, PIK and Hals-Development.

The project turned out to be very elegant and cozy. The designer coped with his task. The calm color scheme makes the room unusually gentle and harmonious. I really want to live in such a house, sit on the sofa with a book in my hands, and just feel like a heroine from Jane Austen’s novels. However, I do not see any Art Deco elements in this project. In my opinion, everything is done in a classic style.

Studio Donati was founded in 1998. Over the years, the studio has implemented hundreds of design projects.

The design of a studio apartment is absolute freedom for the creativity of its owners. Many people think that the absence of walls complicates the renovation of a room. But actually it is not. It is in free space that it is easiest to create an interior that will ideally suit your lifestyle. In this article we will tell you how you can decorate a studio apartment and what techniques to use so that even on the most small area get maximum comfort and coziness.

Choosing an interior style

Any studio apartment is a single space. Even if you divide it into different zones not only visually, but also with the help of partitions, the finishing should still be done in the same style.

To choose the optimal style for the room, you need to take these 3 nuances into account.

1. Architectural features. The choice of design depends on whether you are planning a renovation modern apartment, which was originally built as a studio, or in a dwelling where, over time, walls and partitions were removed to free up space. Depending on the type of room, the area, ceiling height, number of windows and many other factors will differ. Thus, modern studios often have non-standard layouts: round walls or triangular rooms.

2. Lifestyle. Based on your basic needs, you can determine which functions in the house are primary and which are secondary. For example, how equipped should the kitchen be, will it be necessary workplace, should there be a separate place to sleep.

3. The number of people who will permanently live in the apartment. Housing for a bachelor, a young couple or a family with a small child should be furnished completely differently. If there is a baby in the family, then first of all you should take care of the safety of the environment, and also create partitions so that you can make noise even when he is sleeping.

Let's see which styles are most often used for the design of studio apartments, and figure out which ones are best suited for certain rooms.

Studio apartment in modern style

Modern style mainly implies strict, laconic furniture, clear lines and a moderate amount of decor. The design is usually done in natural colors, but if desired, you can add bright colors. This design is especially suitable for small studios, where a simple interior often looks much better.

However, the style is not only suitable for small spaces. It can be used in any architectural conditions, with any area and ceiling height. You can find both miniature and large furniture. The decor can be either neutral or bright. In a word, this is the most universal style. Especially for those cases when several people will live in the apartment and you need to please the taste of each of them.

Studio apartment in Scandinavian style

Scandinavian style is ideal for the design of a studio apartment of any size. What are its main features? Walls are almost always painted in White color. This perfectly expands the space if the room is small. Furniture should be functional, you can also experiment with its shape.

So, if the studio is large, you can choose non-standard sofas, complement them with armchairs, couches or other upholstered furniture. If space is limited, then even a simple mattress on the floor can be presented in an interesting way.

By the way, this style is perfect for economical renovation. It does not oblige you to buy expensive furniture sets. On the contrary, it allows you to boldly improvise. For such an interior, this is a completely familiar picture, when there is a table, and behind it - completely different chairs. You can choose a sofa from one series, armchairs from another, and poufs from a third. In the Scandinavian style, all this will look absolutely natural.

Studio apartment in classic style

Fans of sophisticated style will prefer light and light classics. Her modern version not so rich in details, and the furniture looks laconic and restrained. This design would be better suited for spacious rooms. It will look especially good in old houses with high ceilings. The style can be further enhanced with stucco or other characteristic finishing.

Decor is of great importance in design. Among the techniques that can be useful when renovating a studio apartment, it is worth noting mirrors. You can finish part of the wall mirror tiles with facets, and it will visually extend the perspective of the room.

Studio apartment in loft style

Loft is great option for a big city resident who loves industrial decor items. This style was originally used for renovation of industrial workshops. Therefore, it will look most interesting either in similar, previously non-residential premises, or in apartments in old buildings that have become studios thanks to redevelopment.

Old houses usually have higher ceilings - due to this, you can create a second level in the apartment. In addition, there is often the opportunity to strip the walls down to the brick level. It always looks much more interesting than neat decorative option that designers can offer.

Studio apartment in minimalist style

Minimalism allows you to equip your home only with what you really need for life. He does not accept any decor simply for beauty. Furniture usually has strict, laconic forms and a minimum of finishing elements.

A contrasting color combination will help add dynamism to the design of a studio apartment. Often a black and white tandem is created for this or added to white interior bright summer colors.

Due to the consistent design, the apartment will not be overloaded, but will take on a free and spacious look.

Zoning

Layout functional zones in a studio apartment should create conditions under which you will feel comfortable being in a single living space. You need to distribute all household functions in such a way that you are not disturbed by excess noise and are not irritated by the sight of things at the entrance to the house. Let's look at what you need to consider to achieve this result.

In our climatic zone You don’t have to give up a full-fledged hallway. If you can't separate it with walls, try installing a permanent or mobile partition. View outerwear and shoes can hardly fit harmoniously into the overall interior.

If there is sufficient space in the hallway, this perfect place for installing a large built-in wardrobe. You can store most things in it. Thanks to this, the rest of the apartment will remain more free.

Bathroom design in a studio apartment

The layout of the bathroom depends on where in the apartment the communications are located for it. Of course, we can say that it can be moved to the side, but you need to understand that the further it moves from the communications outlet, the higher the level of plumbing installation will be to ensure good drainage of water.

Remember that the bathroom needs to be decorated in the same way as the entire apartment. That is, if the entire room is designed in a classic style, then the bathroom should be decorated in the same way.

Kitchen design in a studio apartment

With the layout of the kitchen, as with the bathroom, you can allow yourself only moderate freedom of movement. Modern technologies made us more flexible, but still no one canceled engineering laws. In this case, not only good drainage of water is of great importance, but also excellent ventilation. If it doesn't work well, the smell of food may linger in the house, which you won't like.

It is advisable that kitchen set was made to order. Then it will be possible to make the most effective use of all the free space in this area, including corners and other difficult areas.

It is better to choose either built-in appliances or stylistically designed ones so that they fit perfectly with the interior. For example, in Scandinavian and modern design facades of technology are often used with metal surfaces, as well as in retro style.

Often homeowners install in the kitchen washing machine. It is better not to do this in a studio apartment. No matter how high-tech the equipment is, it will still make noise and vibrate.

The bedroom is one of the most important areas in the apartment and it should be as comfortable as possible. Everyone's needs are different in this matter. For some, it is enough to place only a sleeping sofa; someone will need both a sofa and a bed; and someone needs to put a crib next to it.

Most often, owners are inclined to have a separate bed with the ability to isolate it from the common space. You can use partitions for this. different types- plasterboard or wooden structures, glass dividers, roller shutters, curtains, cabinets, sliding doors. It all depends on whether you want to completely separate this area or just create a visual border.

If desired, the bed can be placed at a height - for example, put it on a podium. If the ceiling height is more than 2.5 m, then you can safely walk on this surface, and you can even make cabinets inside the niches.

Materials and decoration of a studio apartment

The decoration of the entire apartment should be harmoniously combined with each other. Let's see what nuances need to be taken into account to create a unified space.

Floor

If you plan to put in the hallway or kitchen ceramic tiles, then try to beat her color combination with a piece of furniture or wall decoration. If you can’t play with colors in this way, then choose a tile option that is as close as possible in color and texture to the base material.

Walls

When decorating walls, try to adhere to the rule of three primary colors. Decorating small studio apartments is best done in light colors. Often the ceiling and walls are painted the same color, as this visually expands the space.

In spacious rooms it is also possible dark color, but it must be used together with contrasting light to balance the balance and not visually lose area. It also happens that designers, on the contrary, purposefully recommend deep, rich tones to create a certain effect in the interior.

You can decorate one of the walls with wallpaper. If the area is small, it is better to choose a small pattern in soothing colors. A bright and large pattern attracts too much attention and visually makes the room smaller.

Ceiling

In studio apartments the best option there is always a white ceiling. This could be simply a painted surface or a hanging system.

If the room has high ceilings, this gives more freedom of action - for example, if you like classic design, you can decorate the ceiling with moldings. Do you prefer Scandinavian style? So why not place beams on the ceiling! They look especially impressive if the apartment is in the attic.

Color palette for a studio apartment

As has been mentioned several times above, when decorating, remember that you are creating a single space and the interior of the entire studio apartment should be in the same style. If you are using wood coverings, then choose the same type of wood or at least a similar one color scheme so that there are no striking differences. Some styles, such as Scandinavian or loft, allow for slight variations. But in a classic and modern style, and even more so in minimalism, this will not be at all useful.

If you want to use bright colors in your interior, take into account how we perceive them. So, all cold shades visually move objects away from us, and all warm shades, on the contrary, bring them closer.

There are other visual techniques that can help with design. For example, if in a room low ceilings, draw vertical stripes on the walls and they will appear taller.

Furniture arrangement in a studio apartment

Think in advance where you will most often walk and leave these paths free for yourself. Furniture in the middle of the room can look stylish, but it is important not to overdo it. It is sometimes better to place the largest objects around the perimeter.

Choose built-in wardrobes, preferably the entire height of the ceiling. Not only are they very roomy, but they can also be used to visually divide the space. You should not store many items on open shelves - this will create a feeling of clutter in the house.

Proper lighting in a studio apartment

The better the apartment is lit, the more spacious it seems. Therefore, let the space near the window remain as free as possible and let natural light into the house.

The best option for a studio apartment would be spot lighting in each active zone, as well as its accompaniment with various wall, floor and table lighting. Thoughtful lighting in all areas of the apartment will create a mood appropriate to the time, as well as wisely consume energy.
