Drawing of a plywood Christmas tree. New Year's toys made of plywood. Preparing the workplace and tools

I am relatively new to the Masters Fair, not to say that I Great master, but I really loved my work - artistic sawing. I have been doing sawing for 2 years, since childhood I dreamed of learning :) I finally decided to do a master class, especially New Year's competition master classes happened. This is my first master class, so please don’t throw slippers.

So! Master class on making a beautiful and simple Christmas tree from plywood! I made 3 different Christmas trees: the first one was for me, my husband asked for the second one to be painted using the dot painting technique (we often complement each other in our creativity), and my daughter asked for one Christmas tree to be painted.

Well, let's begin! What do we need?

Materials and tools:

1. Product drawing - the drawing of this Christmas tree is freely available on the Internet. Using simple manipulations, I slightly edited the drawing to suit my taste - I added the inscription 2017, stars and a slot in one Christmas tree. By the way, by downloading and printing this drawing, you can make the same Christmas tree! Only the size of the slot will need to be measured and the Christmas tree fit into the stand. In my case the slot is 6 mm.

2. 6 mm plywood, it is advisable to use 2/4 or 2/2 grade plywood.

3. Glue stick.

4. Hand jigsaw or jigsaw machine- in my case it’s a jigsaw, but for those who don’t have one, you can use a regular hand jigsaw.

6. Thin files.

5. A screwdriver or drill with a thin drill bit.

6. Sandpaper and files for sanding.

7. Acrylic paints and contours, acrylic varnish, brush.

Stages of work:

1. Print out the drawing of the Christmas tree. We cut it and glue it to 6 mm plywood with regular glue and a pencil.

2. Drill holes.

3. We cut out the outer and inner contours of the Christmas tree and the Christmas tree stand.

4. Now that all the internal and external contours have been cut out, you can remove the remaining paper from the plywood and carefully sand the product. We sand with files and sandpaper.

5. In the end, we got these cute Christmas trees!

6. Coloring!

For creating New Year's mood, it was decided to apply a rather simple design on the Christmas tree, but at the same time capable of inspiring nostalgia for childhood. Even a beginner who has picked up a brush for the first time can draw it.

To ensure the paint adheres well, prime the Christmas tree with acrylic primer. And let's start choosing the color for the future decoration.

A deep and rich indigo color and a silver outline will look great.

The snowflake is ready! The number and size of snowflakes is unlimited!

It's your turn reverse side Christmas trees. Here we will again remember what beautiful pictures the frost painted on the windows for us! Just as there were no similar drawings on the window, when drawing our assistant will be improvisation and rich imagination :)

7. We cover the final result acrylic varnish.

You can decorate them as your heart desires! We made three Christmas trees for gifts - I painted one Christmas tree red, the second one was decorated by my daughter :) Well, the third one was painted using the dot painting technique by my wife - Alfia, by the way, is an excellent artist and master in her field! It turned out very beautiful!

I would like to remind you that you can cut this Christmas tree out of plywood with an ordinary pioneer jigsaw or cut it out

from cardboard, transferring the drawing through carbon paper! And you can color it however you like!

We wish you pleasant creativity!

Happy New Year 2017!!!

PS: If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them! I can tell you where to get good sawing files :)

This master class features a Christmas tree original design. Unlike most artificial symbols of the New Year holidays, this product is easy to assemble, looks interesting and requires very little storage space. In terms of cost, it will not be expensive. To make it you will need a piece of plywood and some decorative materials.

Materials

To make a Christmas tree from plywood with your own hands, you will need:

  • plywood, 3 mm, 30 x 20 cm;
  • dye;
  • brushes;
  • wood varnish;
  • glitter;
  • hand tools for cutting and processing wood.

The size of the tree will be small. The diameter of its base is 14 cm, and its height is 20 cm.

Step 1. You will need to transfer the given template onto a piece of plywood and cut out the component parts. The most convenient and fastest way is to load the template into the machine for laser cutting, in the absence of one, transfer the template by hand and carefully cut everything out. Work especially carefully with the spiral, which imitates the crown of a tree.

Step 2. After cutting out the parts, process them so that there are no protrusions or roughness anywhere on the surface.

Step 3. Take a piece that imitates a tree trunk and insert its top into the groove in the center of the spiral.

Step 4. Gently straighten the spiral, lowering it down to the base of the trunk. Insert the bottom of the crown into the side grooves on the trunk.

Step 5. Secure the star to the top of the tree by inserting it into the prepared groove.

Step 6. You can start decorating the Christmas tree. There are several options here. The Christmas tree can be left in its natural form by simply covering it with varnish. You can paint it and the star on it in traditional colors, and if you want to make the figure festive and solemn, add a little sparkle of the appropriate shade on top of the paint.

Ready! At the end of the holidays, the figurine is also easy to disassemble and put away until the next New Year.

Having a Christmas tree in the house during the New Year holidays is a wonderful tradition that has been followed by more than one generation for a long time. This tree, decorated with shiny toys and sparkling garlands, invariably evokes awe and delight in the hearts of children and adults.

Despite the enormous popularity of the live Christmas tree, many still decorate their home with its artificial counterpart in order to preserve green spaces. coniferous trees. Therefore, in Lately Alternative Christmas trees have come into fashion, thanks to the inexhaustible imagination of decorators, made from a wide variety of materials. Among them you can find structures made of wire, fabric, feathers, plastic, paper, glass and wood.

Today's article is dedicated to unusual option wooden Christmas tree, because we are sure that such a tree can be a very effective solution.

Wooden Christmas trees

Maybe you recently changed flooring from boards, dismantled wooden table on shaky legs, or in utility room unnecessary boxes are stored at home. All this can be reused to create original New Year's decor.

It is not necessary to have any special skills to put together a cone-shaped flat design, and you can style the Christmas tree according to your idea of what it should be.

For example:

  • Naive, as in hand-drawn Soviet cartoons, covered with half-erased paint

  • Made from unfinished boards, mounted directly on the floor or leaning against a wall, with a minimum of decoration
  • With a clear geometry of shape and a sparkling garland, in a group of several simple Christmas trees with original homemade decorations

  • Stacked design

Christmas tree made entirely of wooden elements, is able to resemble a traditional one with its silhouette, thanks to its volumetric design. And creating something like this is not at all difficult, because all that is needed is a cross-shaped base with a high metal pin in the center, onto which thin boards or branches of different lengths are strung in turn from bottom to top in descending order.

It is noteworthy that decorating a wooden Christmas tree is a pleasure. Glass balls and figures are simply hung at the ends of the boards, decorative figures can simply be glued to them with double-sided tape, and candle tablets can be placed in pre-formed recesses.

  • "Layout" of the Christmas tree

As proof of great possibilities wooden structures, here is another simple way to create a decorative tree. In this form, trees are most often recreated in small copies of parks and squares with models of residential and public buildings at the design stage.

Therefore, it seems to us interesting idea embodiment of the outlines of a New Year's tree following the example of objects made of papier-mâché and cardboard. It is possible to repeat each of the options below on our own at home.

The tree consists of two identical pieces of medium-thick plywood, which are connected to each other thanks to central cuts. In one part of the tree, in its center, a thin strip is cut (equal to the thickness of a sheet of plywood) from the base to the middle of the height of the tree, in the other part - from the top to the middle, with the help of which the structure is securely fastened.

A more detailed master class can be found in our article ““.

  • A three-dimensional model of a Christmas tree, made not entirely from wood, but rather from its derivative material - cardboard. Several fragments of the same size and shape are folded in half lengthwise, and then glued together at the folds, forming a single figured model.

  • Tabletop decorative Christmas trees

Your imagination is the most effective assistant in the task of realizing ideas on the theme of miniature wooden Christmas trees. In the event that there is not enough of it, we suggest turning to our photo selection.

Residues from plywood, fiberboard, MDF will serve as materials for tabletop decor for the New Year holidays and Christmas, and in order to preserve the characteristic texture of wood, we recommend limiting yourself to a small amount of decorations or a thin layer of acrylic paints.

Master class: whatnot - Christmas tree

If the farm has mechanical jigsaw, with its help you can design an absolutely charming Christmas tree, which, moreover, can be used as a wall shelf or tabletop shelf.

So, before you get started, you need to prepare:

  1. Thin plywood sheet
  2. Mechanical jigsaw (or manual, if you don't find it difficult to work with it)
  3. Wood glue
  4. Roulette
  5. Simple pencil
  6. Acrylic paint, brush

Step 1:

On a sheet of plywood you should draw an isosceles triangle - the basis of the future Christmas tree. To do this, use a tape measure to measure a horizontal line 40 cm long at the bottom of the sheet. Then, from its middle (20 cm), draw upward a strictly vertical line 60 cm long. From the resulting top, draw two segments down to the ends of the horizontal line.

Step 2:

We make blanks for the sides and shelves of the Christmas tree. We measure the lengths of its base and sides, and then visually divide the structure into three equal parts horizontally, thanks to which the tree will have two shelves in the upper and lower parts. (Don't forget to measure the trunk fragment and sides for it)

Step 3:

Depending on how deep you want to make your Christmas tree, you should draw all the necessary blanks with the indicated lengths and a total width of the rectangles of 5-10 cm.

Step 4:

Using a jigsaw, you need to cut out a triangular blank and all the rectangles from a sheet of plywood. Using wood glue, we gradually glue the rectangles to the sides of the base, placing their ends perpendicularly. After this, we glue the shelves in the spaces between the sides.

Step 5:

We glue the trunk with the sides to the tree last, after the back strip is attached.

Step 6:

Let the glue dry, check the reliability of the bond and cover the structure with two layers of acrylic paint.

1

So, in a few steps you can get a decorative Christmas tree rack, and you can easily decorate it with the most different ways: figurines of animals and birds, bunches of berries, beads, paper snowflakes and other crafts.

2

Take ideas for creating such original Christmas trees, and no one will dare to call your interior devoid of style. Happy Holidays!

The tree decorations were the first of their kind. Later they learned to make glass products, and plastic came into use relatively recently. Despite the diversity modern materials for production, Christmas tree decorations from do not lose their relevance and return to christmas trees.

Why you should get a plywood toy for your Christmas tree

Home collections are mostly filled with modern plastic decorations that are bought every year, or antique glass balls and figurines that our mothers and grandmothers used to decorate Christmas trees in childhood. Christmas decorations made of plywood are almost never found.

Why you should get a couple of toys made from plywood sheets:

  • Original decoration self made will not be found anywhere else;
  • Possibility to decorate the Christmas tree to your liking;
  • A reason to practice crafts and make a toy with your own hands, an opportunity to keep your child busy and spend time together;
  • A new product every day;
  • A lot of positive emotions from the result.

Christmas tree decorations do not lose their relevance for several seasons: they are not only used to decorate a tree, but also hung on walls, doors, and given to each other. Crafts can also be made specifically for gifting or selling to those wishing to receive exclusive New Year's attributes.

Making crafts with your own hands

As already mentioned, making your own jewelry is much more valuable than acquiring ready-made standard toys. This is a very simple process, all you need to do is get necessary material, a tool and use your imagination.

Why do we choose plywood sheets as a material for Christmas tree decorations:

  • You can use old scraps of sheets used for construction;

  • Crafts can be of any size;
  • Christmas tree decorations made of plywood do not break or break, and can be safely given to children.

So let's get started.

Preparing the workplace and tools

In order to do Christmas decoration on the Christmas tree with your own hands, use a small workbench or extreme case kitchen table, previously covered with thick oilcloth. To avoid damaging the tabletop, we recommend placing it on plywood sheet .

For cutting you will need:

  • Manual or electric jigsaw(whatever there is);
  • Drill with a set of drills;
  • Fine sandpaper;
  • To securely fix the fragments, it is ideal to use hot glue from an electric gun. As a last resort, prepare wood glue and PVA;
  • Acrylic paints and clear varnish for fixing from the same material;
  • Decorations: paper, beads, polyethylene crumbs, scraps of tinsel and satin ribbons, foil, ready-made images of New Year and Christmas themes - this item is limited only by your imagination.

Option 1: regular Christmas tree decoration

Ordinary Christmas tree decorations made of plywood are flat, in the form of various fairy-tale characters, traditional New Year's attributes and heroes. To accurately and accurately cut out the desired outline, prepare image templates in advance. They can be drawn on paper or downloaded from the Internet, printed and cut out.

  1. Transfer the image to a plywood sheet - trace the template.

  1. Armed with a jigsaw, cut out the toy along the drawn contour. There are no problems when working with an electric tool; the process goes smoothly even for an inexperienced student.

With a hand jigsaw it is more difficult: the file must be directed strictly along the contour so that the hand does not tremble and the blade does not jump off and cut off excess. For mechanical tools, prepare replacement files in advance.

  1. Use a drill to drill a hole in the top of the toy.

  1. Use sandpaper to sand the cut areas, focusing on the resulting chips.
  2. Now for the artwork. If Christmas tree decorations are supposed to be items of natural wood color, then skip this point. If you want to create a completely decorative effect, cover the workpiece with white acrylic enamel– it will become the background for future decorations. When the layer is dry, paint the main design.

  1. If you don’t want to paint the craft yourself, glue a finished picture cut out of paper or cardboard to the blank. For fixation, use PVA glue diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1.

  1. Volumetric decoration stage. Beads, decorative snow, tinsel, foil come into play - everything that your imagination can handle. Fix these decorations with hot glue or transparent wood glue. Finally, cover the surface of the craft with acrylic varnish to fix the result.

  1. Thread a satin rope into the hole and tie a knot or a beautiful bow - the toy for decorating the spruce is ready.

Option 2: Volume decoration

By this concept we mean Christmas tree decorations made of several parts or those that can be placed.

Making composite Christmas tree crafts with your own hands is no more difficult than flat ones; on the contrary, the process becomes more exciting.

  1. We take the same base material and transfer the template to it.

  1. For complex products, we mark the holes according to the diagram.
  2. We cut out the outline and clean up the edges.
  3. We connect the fragments. If the toy is flat and composite, we use ribbons or nylon threads for connection, which we tie into strong double or triple knots. If the toy is on a support, we work with the blanks according to the instructions, for example, we insert the parts into each other.
  4. Decor individual fragments can be done immediately after preparation individual elements or after assembly. In any case, the workpiece is subject to the same processing as a flat toy: enamel, picture, drawing, three-dimensional decor, varnish fixation.

Volumetric Christmas tree decorations made of plywood can be used not only for hanging on New Year's trees, but also as an independent toy for a child as a gift.

A homemade item, especially one made of wood, can keep a child occupied for more long time than modern expensive toys, and interest in it remains for a longer time. This is another argument in favor of the fact that it is useful to make products from plywood.

Garland

Christmas tree beads are an element as important as the toys themselves. This also includes elegant garlands for a tree or room. They can also be made from plywood using the same principle as described above.

Some tips:

  1. The garland for the Christmas tree should be made in a simple form so that the decoration fits organically into the overall composition. Choose from checkboxes, circles and more simple shapes. This will help save time - there will be a lot of elements for cutting and decorating.
  2. Use satin ribbons and decorative ropes to connect the elements so that appearance products remained solemn.
  3. To fix the fragments on the rope, tie knots at the location of the element. This way it will maintain its position no matter how inclined the thread is.
  4. Make loops at the ends of the rope to make it easy to hang the garland.

What are the results

A couple of hours of work, satisfaction from the perfect process and pleasure from the result - all the emotions in a plywood toy. Add the attention of household members and guests to a hand-made product and success is guaranteed. Handmade products never go out of fashion; they are passed down from generation to generation, carrying with them a piece of memory. Have you ever seen such a set of values and emotions contained in a mass-produced plastic toy?

What you need for needlework

This is not the most common type of handicraft, as already noted, so you need to carefully prepare for the work in advance. In particular, you need a sheet of plywood (you can buy it, you can take scraps of cut sheets that were used in construction).

Also, to work, you must have a jigsaw, manual or electric, on hand. You will also need a drill with a set of drills and sandpaper. Plus, to bring the toy to life, you need to buy acrylic paints and acrylic varnish in advance. As additional decor, you can safely use paper, scraps of tinsel, satin ribbons and even ready-made New Year and Christmas images.

Master class on creating a toy

First, we prepare the blank for decoration. Take the white one acrylic paint POLYCOLOR and a large foam sponge. Dip the sponge into the paint and smoothly swab it over the workpiece. The paint should be applied evenly to both sides of the plywood. If necessary, apply two or three coats of paint.

When the surface is dry, rub the plywood with a piece of fine-grained sandpaper. The workpiece must be absolutely flat - this is the main condition for decorating a Christmas tree decoration.

Remove from napkin upper layer and tear out the fragments with the gnomes. There should be a white paper field around each figure.

Now you can do decoupage on the prepared plywood surface. Place a piece of napkin with a gnome on one side of the ball. Using a small brush with soft bristles, dip into acrylic varnish (HOBBY LINE was used), and then gently brush over the top on a napkin. The varnish will quickly saturate the paper and it will stick to the workpiece. So, the varnish will perform two functions: both decoupage glue and protective varnish. After the varnish has dried, glue the fragment to the other side of the workpiece in the same way.

Next, we create lace details on the plywood Christmas tree decoration. We place a kitchen openwork napkin on top of the decoupage so that you can visually imagine where to make the drawing (you can move the napkin until you like the location). Using acrylic contours of various colors, place dots in the holes of the napkin.

Choose the color of the contours to your taste, taking into account compatibility with the overall composition (HOBBY LINE, MARABU, and DECOLA were used). Such a dotted ornament can be placed over the entire surface of the Christmas tree decoration, or only along one edge.

When the dot painting is dry on both sides, open the decoupage with glossy acrylic varnish. Apply several layers of varnish and dry each thoroughly.

Place a ribbon or thick thread into the hole in the blank and hang the plywood toy on the Christmas tree. Dwarfs with gifts rush to the New Year with
