How to make a metal garage yourself. A metal garage with your own hands is the best shelter for a car. base for garage

If you are not a supporter of heavy capital brick or small-block garages that require a solid foundation and roof, then you can opt for a metal one designed for one car. Such a construction can be completed in a fairly short period of time. At the same time, the fastening of the main elements can be performed both by welding and using bolts with nuts.

In this article we will tell you how to make such a garage, show drawings, photos and video materials.

Foundation

It is believed that a metal garage is lightweight design, under which a purely symbolic foundation is required (only around the perimeter, deepening it by only 20-25 cm and about the same width). Another option is to pour a reinforced mesh concrete slab, which will simultaneously be both a foundation and a subfloor, or put factory floor slabs on the ground.

However, in any case, the following conditions must be observed:

  • the top of the foundation or base slab should be 15-20 cm above ground level so that water does not leak during rain or snow melt;
  • the surface of the foundation or slab must be strictly horizontal;
  • at the corners of the foundation or a solid slab, be sure to concrete small pieces of reinforcement, to which the frame will be welded in the future.

It is better to pour the foundation at a time so that it forms a single monolithic element. Since not too much concrete is required when creating a strip foundation, you can use a concrete mixer and make concrete directly at the location of the garage.

Manufacturing

The dimensions of the garage for storing one car are 3.3 by 5.5 (or 6) meters. At the same time, if you plan to conduct insulation (for example, with mineral wool), each of the indicated dimensions should be increased by 15-20 centimeters.

The frame can be welded from a metal corner of a large section - this will make the structure rigid and durable. All work is carried out immediately at the installation site.

The frame assembly process consists of the following steps:

  1. The lower frame is welded first (do not forget to weld it to the rods protruding from the concrete at the corners of the structure so that the reinforcement outlets are inside the structure).
  2. Then the vertical corner posts are welded.
  3. In the front part, two side posts for the gate are installed and fixed.
  4. All fixed racks in the upper part are interconnected by the upper frame.
  5. After that you need to do load-bearing elements roofs, while:
  • with a pitched roof rack front side must be higher than others (the slope of the roof will be towards the back wall);
  • with a gable roof, you will also have to weld triangular truss structures and weld them to the upper frame.

Intermediate racks along all walls are welded with equal spacing to enhance the strength and rigidity of the entire structure. In this case, the step of the rack depends on the width of the metal sheet, which will be welded to it as part of the wall.

If the sheets are overlapped, then the distance between the uprights should be 4-5 cm less than the width of the sheet.

It is welded to the finished frame or attached with bolts and nuts outer skin. It can be made from stamped sheets of galvanized or non-galvanized steel, as well as from corrugated board. In all cases, the thickness of the metal must be at least 1.2 mm.

On the roof, the sheets begin to be fastened from the overhangs to the ridge, observing the overlap of the upper sheets to the lower ones by 15 cm.

For a garage, you can choose any, but swing doors remain the most popular. They can also be welded right at the installation site in a similar way: first, the frame of the canvases is welded, then the metal sheathing is welded to it.

Warming

If the metal garage is not insulated, then when weather conditions change, condensation may begin to appear on its walls. The easiest way to insulate is to use polystyrene boards. They can simply be glued from the inside to the skin between the frame racks.

Expanded polystyrene (styrofoam) has a big drawback: it burns. A garage, a fire hazardous room (there are canisters of gasoline, and a car with a full gas tank, and all sorts of other flammable automotive liquids).

It is better to use non-combustible as a heater thermal insulation materials(for example, mineral wool in the form of rigid mats), closing it with inside premises by any sheet material(OSB, chipboard, MDF, etc.).

The drawings below will help you decide on the size of the garage, roof configuration and type of gate:

The price that a car enthusiast pays for the safety and protection of a car in car parks and rental garages makes one think over time about how to solve this problem. If you have a plot of land owned, welding a garage yourself is one of the most inexpensive ways reliable protection car.

The article will tell you how to do it right with your own hands.

Features of the construction of a welded garage

Before starting construction work, it is necessary to calculate its dimensions, which are influenced by the dimensions of the car and the capabilities of the customer.

The optimal dimensions of the structure for storing passenger cars:

  • Length - 5.5 meters.
  • Width - 3.3 meters.
  • Height - 2.35 meters.
  • opening dimensions for garage doors- 3x1.95 meters.

The construction of all buildings and structures begins with the foundation.

The choice of its type for a welded garage is influenced by the following indicators:

  • The depth of groundwater.
  • Depth of soil freezing.

Tip: A welded garage has a relatively small mass, which makes it possible to make a strip shallow foundation for it.

The sequence of work for such a basis:

  • The area is being marked.
  • Filmed upper layer soil.
  • A trench is dug to a depth of about a shovel bayonet.
  • The bottom of the trench is covered with a mixture of sand and gravel, rammed.
  • Formwork is installed. It is made above ground level by 15-20 centimeters.
  • Reinforcement is laid in the form of a lattice, the diameter of its elements is taken approximately seven millimeters.
  • Poured into the trench concrete mortar, embedded elements are pre-inserted into each corner of the foundation - metal pins, which should be 15 centimeters above the level of the foundation.

Tip: The level of the base should be made above ground level, which will prevent future soil and precipitation from entering the garage.

For further installation of metal structures, it is necessary to let the mortar stand for 28 days, covering the entire structure with a film, which will prevent the concrete from drying out quickly.

How to mount the frame

Installation of metal structures should begin with assembly.

It should be:

  • Strong enough.
  • Hard.
  • sustainable.

Such requirements are met by a structure assembled from profiled rolled metal. Welding is used to connect parts together.

  • Ready-made or independently executed drawings for the garage are selected.
  • Acquired required amount material and tool:
  1. welding machine;
  2. angle grinder;
  3. drill;
  4. grinding wheels;
  5. plumb and level.
  • Blanks are marked and cut out.

All installation work will be carried out directly at the site of the future garage in the following sequence:

  • A frame for the lower belt is being assembled.
  • The structure is fixed to the pins protruding at the corners of the foundation.
  • Vertical corner posts are installed. For garage with pitched roof the front corner posts are 40 centimeters higher than the rear ones.
  • The top belt is installed.
  • For a garage with truss trusses are mounted.
  • Intermediate side racks and jumpers are placed.
  • Gates are being installed.

Gate installation

They must be reliable and of high quality, and this depends not only on the material of manufacture, the type of gate, but also on how conveniently they open and close. The last two requirements are influenced by garage hinges.

How to properly weld them to the gate, in order to ensure accurate and even closing of the leaves, prevent distortion, and also prevent the gate from deforming under its own weight, the instruction will help, which will tell you the criteria for their selection and installation methods.

Wherein:

  • The shape of the hinges is selected, which can be:
  1. cylindrical, the most popular and easily installed type of hinges;
  2. hexagonal;
  3. tetrahedral.
  • The number of elements is determined, which depends on:
  1. from the weight of the sashes. For heavy structures weighing more than 150 kilograms, it is better to take three hinges;
  2. on the intensity of use door block. The load is greater, the more often the garage opens and closes.
  • Appropriate size plates are selected for welding hinges. They help to withstand the loads of the hinges even with a large mass of the gate leaf. The plates are welded to the top and bottom of the loop, as seen in the photo below.

  • Before being properly welded, garage hinges are preliminarily attached to the gate leaves, maintaining the alignment of the hinges.
  • A check is made of how perfectly the gate fits into the garage opening.

Tip: When installing the gate, you should maintain a gap of up to 7 millimeters between their wings.

  • The gate leaves are set to a vertical position and the hinge plates are attached to their posts. The lower hinge is placed first.
  • The correct installation is controlled.

Tip: The final welding of the plates should be done after the preliminary installation of both wings in order to ensure their high-quality closing and opening.

  • The loops are scalded.

How to weld garage hinges correctly, the video will show in detail.

  • Eyelets, latches, a lock are installed (see). One leaf of the gate must be rigidly fixed. To do this, overhead valves are attached to the top and bottom of the sash. There are several types of locks for garage doors:
  1. mounted. They are the most popular, and in order for such a lock to become more reliable, its eyes are placed as close as possible to the door leaf. This reduces the risk of hacking;
  2. mortise;
  3. overhead.

How to sheathe a garage outside

The next stage of construction is the sheathing of the garage.

The material for sheathing the frame is taken:

  • Sheet metal 2.5 -3 mm thick.
  • Profiled sheet, with a thickness of at least 1.2 mm. It is attached to the garage frame with self-tapping screws or welded around the perimeter.

Before assembly, you must select the type of welding.

The most common for this kind of work:

  • Manual arc welding.
  • Semi-automatic welding in carbon dioxide.

In this case, semi-automatic welding will be used.

For a garage, this type of it has a number of advantages over welding with conventional electrodes:

  • High quality seams that can be performed in any position without additional linings.
  • The ability to weld metals of small thicknesses, the likelihood of metal burn-through is reduced.
  • Low toxicity when welding elements and the absence of harmful fumes.
  • Low cost of welding seams.
  • Semi-automatic welding in the garage allows you to make high-quality welds, and handling such equipment is much easier even for a novice welder. It will be possible to make minor repairs to a car or other equipment on your own.

Garage insulation

Since the metal garage is the most cold version for storing a car, many are wondering: should it be insulated? However, significant changes in air temperature can lead to corrosion of the metal of the machine.

Therefore, if it was decided to insulate your garage (see), the sequence of work will be as follows:

  • Is being done wooden crate inside the garage with a step of its elements of about 600 millimeters, which corresponds to the width of the insulation mat. The design is treated with non-combustible impregnation.
  • By using construction stapler waterproofing is attached.
  • The heater is installed. Since the garage is a fire hazardous room, glass wool is most often used, which is staggered in two layers to cover the lower joints.
  • Mats are sheathed on top with a vapor barrier.
  • mounted inner lining. As it is used:
  1. lining;
  2. plywood;

  • The gates are insulated.

Tip: Hang a curtain next to the gate. thick fabric which will keep the heat in the room. The most commonly used tarpaulin.

Floor arrangement

It is not necessary to insulate the floor in the garage.

In the absence of a cellar under the garage and viewing hole the work sequence looks like this:

  • About 20 centimeters of the top layer is removed.
  • The surface is leveled with gravel-sand mixture and rammed.
  • Laying down waterproofing material.
  • Reinforcing bars are being installed.
  • Poured cement strainer on either cement mixture paving slabs are laid out.

The manufacture of a welded garage allows the car owner to be calm in the future for the reliable safety of his car at any time. It can also store summer and winter tires, spare parts and many other little things that no longer have a place in the house.

metal garage has exterior cladding and roofing sheet metal. For these purposes will go:

  1. Sheet steel:
  • with a galvanized coating on a stainless steel base, from 0.4 to 2 mm thick;
  • hot-rolled (thickness 0.5 - 4.0 mm), ordinary sheet, edged, preferred for all types of welding.
  • profiled sheet(corrugated board) C or NS - cold-rolled sheet material 0.8 mm thick with a wavy profile and wave height from 8 to 44 mm:
    • with double-sided galvanized coating;
    • with decorative paintwork (GOST 30246);
    • with a bilateral polymeric covering (polyester - is economic, pural, PVDF - is universal).
    • coated on one side with zinc-polymer.
  • Sandwich panel- multilayer wall and roofing material (metal, heat insulator, polyurethane foam adhesive layer).
  • Reference: How to build a metal garage from sandwich panels? By collapsible technologies.

    How to assemble a metal garage?

    By itself, the metal sheet is not capable of withstanding the bearing load. For these purposes, you will need power frame . It will also be made of metal. Depending on the functional features buildings fit:

    • steel pipes of oval or rectangular profile 25x50 and 20x40;
    • corner 35x35;
    • steel channel.

    Connect all these elements among themselves you can:

    • detachable connection (bolts, self-tapping screws for metal);
    • permanent connection (spot welding).

    Choice type of connection simplify or complicate the construction process.

    If a screwdriver is enough to connect with detachable fasteners, then welding will require not only welding machine, but also the ability to use it, the skills to obtain a reliable weld.

    Why is it worth building?

    On what basis can metal garage? Since the garage weighs a little more than 1 ton, you can get by with either a foundation, and when erecting for a while - without it at all, mounting it on drop-in anchors.

    What to consider:

    1. iron for garage does not store heat, heats up quickly and cools down just as quickly.
    2. Appearance on internal walls ah condensate provokes the process rusting.
    3. In a fire, the contents burns out.
    4. Hack collapsible metal structure and even take it out is not such a tricky business.

    Suitable option for suburban area will:

    • prefabricated garage factory designs; it is easily assembled (if the foundation is ready) by 2 workers in 6 hours;
    • prefabricated garage on metal frame ; technology accessible to anyone who owns a plumbing tool and is familiar with the basics construction works; allows you to use sheets and rolled elements that were in use;
    • c all-welded construction, the reliability of which is higher, as well as the requirements for the professionalism of performers.

    Materials and tools

    For installation work foundation:

    1. Tools:
    • roulette and level;
    • cord for marking;
    • bayonet shovel;
    • concrete mixer;
    • rule.
  • Material:
    • river sand;
    • fine gravel;
    • roll waterproofing;
    • formwork board;
    • reinforcing bar (6-8mm);
    • knitting wire;
    • dry mix M 400;
    • embedded anchors or metal pins.

    For mounting frame:

    Tools:

    1. screwdriver;
    2. scissors and a hacksaw for metal;
    3. electric saw;
    4. welding machine.

    Important: To build a garage with your own hands from metal, you need to choose the warm season, given that it will take 2 weeks for concreting and a week for assembling the frame and cladding. for insulation and interior decoration, floor devices will have to be thrown in for another week - in a month the metal garage will be ready. One condition - you need partner.

    Sequence of work

    Do-it-yourself garage construction from metal structures - action algorithm:

    1. Preparation construction site, alignment of horizontals by level.
    2. Base marking.
    3. Soil preparation for foundation:
    • trench digging (under strip foundation) or pits (under columnar or pile);
    • formwork device from boards or OSB to form a plinth.
  • Device foundation:
    • waterproofing the outer walls of the foundation with rolled sealant;
    • reinforcement with a metal bar of the trench space;
    • laying at the corners of anchors or protruding metal pins for future fixation of the frame;
    • pouring concrete M 400.
  • Preparation of a pit for or - a vegetable store.
  • For your information: The soil selected from the pit can be evenly scattered over the surface inside the garage, thereby raising it to the level of the basement.

  • Inspection pit (caisson) device:
    • filling the bottom of the pit with a mixture of sand and gravel;
    • sealing the bottom and walls with film sealant;
    • arrangement of the floor and walls of the pit made of brick or concrete (laying the caisson).
    • edge decoration with a metal corner.

    • align with beacons;
    • on the screed, after it has seized, the logs are laid under the finishing floor from the grooved board, or a rubberized coating (rolled or in the form of rugs) is laid on the glue.

    Garage flooring can be double processing subfloor with a special composition that, after hardening, gives an elastic rubberized layer with a 10-year guarantee. Under studded tires for reliability, you can apply 4 layers of such a coating.

  • Production for the garage:
    • frame assembly;
    • lining with sheet material of the door leaf;
    • insert on the bottom of the leaf of the supply ventilation grille;
    • fastening hinges and hanging gates;
    • installation of a mechanism for opening (lifting), bolts, locks.

    Considering protective covering cladding, for temporary placement of the car on warm season- scope of work sufficient. If vehicle If you have to stand in the garage all winter, and from time to time also leave, while remaining ready for this, you will have to take care of the insulation.

    How to make a metal garage with your own hands - drawing, calculation:

    How and with what are they insulated?

    If you thought about insulation at the design stage, frame can become a convenient basis for placing foam or polystyrene plates 50 mm thick. It is possible to fix the insulation plates in the niches with reinforcing bars ᴓ6mm welded on top, or by putting the insulation on glue.

    It is desirable to stretch over the insulation vapor-permeable membrane from natural fumes that are inevitable during the operation of the garage.

    But the safest thermal insulator for a garage would be mineral wool, which is fixed between the racks with a tension nylon cord. This method of insulation will require a fine interior finish to give the walls an aesthetic appearance. For fine finish the interior walls of the garage use:

    • metal and wooden lining;
    • drywall for painting.

    Important: So that the insulation is not formal, it is necessary to simultaneously insulate the roof, the gate, and the floor.

    Installation

    What to put a metal garage on? On skids. This type of base is used only for metal garages. The skids allow you to install the structure on any flat surface, move like a trailer to a new installation location.

    Mounting on runners- type of welding work, in which:

    1. Steel pipes ᴓ10-15 cm and in length, coinciding with the length of the garage, are cut on one side at an angle of 45◦;
    2. 2 pipe sections are welded to the cuts, forming a bend of the skids.
    3. The skids are welded to the base of the lower frame trim along the entire length.
    4. The ends of the pipes are welded.
    5. A layer of bitumen is applied to the skids to protect the metal from corrosion.

    How to install a metal garage correctly?

    Installation metal garage on skids requires:

    • wooden floor devices;
    • devices of an inclined platform (ramp) for entering the car into the garage, since the skids create a difference in the level of the ground and the floor.

    Reference: How to raise a metal garage? By using jack.

    To transport a metal garage and build a reliable foundation for it, you need to know the total weight of the structure. Calculations it is easy to do by simple arithmetic operations, if you know:

    • the total volume of walls and roofs (the product of the area and the thickness of the structural elements);
    • specific gravity of the metal.

    Specialists who are engaged in the manufacture of metal garages indicate weight in 1.2 tons.

    Ventilation system

    For a safe stay in a metal garage that does not have windows, you need ventilation system. Garage iron does not allow air exchange through the walls. Even with open gate in the depths of the room you can get under the harmful effects of gasoline vapors.

    Ventilation in metal garage do it yourself:

    At the design stage, lay elements supply and exhaust system:

    • a barred opening for the inflow of fresh air at the bottom of the gate;
    • exhaust pipe in the roof, diagonally from the air inlet.

    Important: The diameter of the exhaust pipe of a standard garage should be 15cm(1 cm per 1 cubic meter of garage space). Covers the top of the pipe cap from ingress of precipitation. The supply opening should be 1.5-2 times larger.

    Cold air enters the room from the bottom, heats up from the machine, is saturated with volatile vapors, rises up and stretched out into the pipe. This is how natural ventilation works in accordance with the laws of physics.

    Ventilation in a metal garage will turn into a combined one if you put on the hood fan. Fully automate this process in a garage of this kind doesn't make sense.

    Outcome: A metal garage cannot be compared in terms of reliability and comfort with a permanent brick structure, but the speed of its installation and simplicity of design inspire many craftsmen to do it themselves metal box for auto.

    Being in the open air is bad for the condition of the car, and in order to protect vehicles from corrosion, it is necessary to build a garage for it. The desire to build a solid stone garage is not always feasible; in this case, an iron garage will be the best solution. Its device does not require much time and large investments. Such a building does not need a capital foundation, but metal structure will last for more than a decade.

    Preparatory stage

    You can build an iron garage with your own hands without having a building qualification, it is enough to act according to technological sequence. The first thing to do is to draw a building drawing. It should take into account the dimensions of the car, workplace, shelves and racks. The following values are usually taken:

    • height - 2‒2.5 meters;
    • width - 3‒3.5 meters;
    • length - 6 meters.

    Relying on finished drawing, carry out the calculation and purchase necessary materials. For construction you will need: metal profile, steel or profiled sheets, concrete, reinforcement, boards, gate hinges, insulation, chipboard or plywood for interior decoration.

    1. Bulgarian.
    2. Level.
    3. Welding machine.
    4. Roulette and marker.
    5. Shovel.
    6. Drill.

    How to make a foundation

    Every building starts with a solid foundation. For iron garage it is enough to make a strip foundation or pour a reinforced concrete slab under the structure. On the site selected and cleared of foreign objects, a place for the foundation is marked according to the completed drawing. Pegs are hammered in the corners, future walls are marked with a stretched twine. The parallelism of the walls can be checked by measuring the diagonals, if the values are the same, everything is done correctly.

    Along the marked lines, a ditch is dug up to a depth of 30 cm and a width of 40 cm. A sand and gravel cushion is poured onto the bottom, then the formwork from the boards is exposed. It should protrude 20 cm above the trench. Creeps into the formwork polyethylene film as a waterproofing and fittings are attached. At the corners, anchors of at least 16 mm are installed, to which the frame of the structure will be attached. The formwork is poured with concrete and aged for a week until it gains sufficient strength.

    Frame manufacturing

    1. The profile used for the garage frame should not have walls thinner than 3 mm in order to provide the necessary structural rigidity. Work begins with the formation of the lower part adjacent to the foundation. Sections of the profile, cut to a given length, are laid along the perimeter, welded together and welded to the anchors protruding from the concrete.
    2. The next step is to install the corner posts. They must be set strictly vertically, referring to the level, and welded to the lower frame and anchors. Racks are made with a corner outward. Next, the remaining vertical racks are installed, the distance between them is equal to the size of the steel sheet. To strengthen the structure, additional corners can be welded diagonally between the uprights.
    3. After installing the vertical supports, the upper frame is fixed.
    4. The roof of a metal garage can be single-pitched or gable. In the first case, the front roof pillars are made longer to allow water to flow back. For a gable roof, a special frame is made in the shape of a triangle. Its height is 0.5 meters. The structure is created using rafters welded to vertical posts, a metal corner and a ridge beam.

    Wall and roof cladding

    After the frame is made, sheathing is performed with steel sheets or corrugated board. Metal can be fastened with bolts or welding.

    Note! The galvanization of stamped sheets is damaged during welding, so it is better to fasten them with self-tapping screws.

    When fixing by welding, the metal is cut into desired length and attached to the corners, and then boiled among themselves. The corrugated board is installed with an overlap of 5 cm and bolted. After finishing the sheathing, the metal is primed twice and then painted.

    Roof installation starts from the bottom, laying the top metal sheets on the lower ones with an overlap of up to 15 cm so that water does not flow into the room. For reliability, the joints can be smeared with sealant. But it is preferable to use sheets equal in size to the slope so that there are no seams.

    Gates

    The frame for garage doors is welded from the corner. Its design is reinforced with reinforcement welded diagonally. Hinges to gates and posts are fastened by welding. The outer side of the structure is sheathed with metal, and the inside of the gate is trimmed with wood or other finishing material.

    Insulation of an iron garage

    The metal has a high thermal conductivity and it will be very cold in such a garage in winter. Insulated room is different high level fire hazard, therefore, it is better to use non-combustible materials, such as mineral wool, as a heater. Foam boards are also used, which are placed between the racks, but this material poses a fire hazard. canvases mineral wool sewn up with moisture-resistant plywood or chipboard.

    Note! The wiring in the garage is done before the insulation is laid.

    Before buying a car, the future owner should consider in advance where it will be stored.

    The easiest way in this case is to make and install a metal garage with your own hands, for this you only need construction material and building plans.

    Device

    Structurally, metal garages consist of the following elements:

    The most important system is the foundation, because it is on it that the pressure of the entire building will be exerted. The support should normally be at least 1 meter thick and 20 centimeters wide (with belt type), but the sole depends on the insulation and the choice of metal for the walls. Basically, a monolithic carrier system is installed under garages. For savings cement mortar you can use any improvised means: construction waste, rubble, FBS blocks, foam blocks, etc.

    Separately, the need for thermal insulation is stipulated. Insulation of metal garages from corrugated board is almost always a mandatory task, since a car in the cold season will always be under the influence of natural temperature changes. These factors negatively affect its condition and service life.

    Video: do-it-yourself metal garage

    Used as a heater:

    1. Mineral wool. The simplest and cheap way, but this material is known for its water-absorbing qualities. Therefore, to extend the durability of the walls and protect them from corrosion, it is recommended to additionally apply a waterproof film;
    2. Penoizol. Very expensive but practical option insulation. The foam is light, so it is often used for thermal insulation. utility rooms built on a columnar or tape shallow foundation;
    3. Styrofoam. Unlike mineral wool, it does not absorb water, but repels it. Like penoizol, it is quite light, but at the same time affordable.

    Arrangement of the carrier system

    Initially, the position of the garage on the site is calculated on the drawings. Please note that it is undesirable to have various communication pipes or wires near it; when excavating trenches, water supply, sewer or electrical networks can be damaged.

    Photo: monolithic foundation

    Before starting work, one point is selected from which the marking will be carried out. It could be a tree, a fence, or a house. The location of the trenches is marked, and holes are dug for pouring. It is very important to monitor the evenness of the corners, otherwise the bearing capacity of the system will be significantly weakened.

    Instructions on how to install the foundation for a metal garage with your own hands:

    1. The base size is selected. The dimensions of the garage are on average 6 meters by 3.5, but the sole of the support should exceed them by 20–30 centimeters;
    2. Sand and gravel are poured into the bottom of the trench to create a sand cushion. Its height is on average 10–20 centimeters, depending on the total depth of the base;
    3. The foundation for a metal garage is necessarily reinforced with metal bars. The bundle is installed in each corner, while keeping in mind that the side walls will be installed along the reinforcing sections protruding from the foundation. They must not only be welded to a common reinforcing system, and carefully concreted;
    4. After that, you can start filling. In order to save the solution, many craftsmen first fill the pit with construction waste, and then fill it with a solution. When pouring, be sure to use a level, it is necessary that the surface of the support is exactly horizontal;
    5. Try to calculate the work in such a way that you can fill the foundation in one go. This will provide maximum rigidity, since the base will represent a single system.

    The solution hardens on average for a week, but this depends on the climate of the region and the characteristics of the soil (in humid areas, this period can be delayed for up to two weeks).

    Assembly

    You can build a collapsible metal garage from finished elements, as well as from hand-made parts. Consider the option of installing a finished building.

    Step-by-step instruction how to raise a metal prefabricated garage with your own hands:

    1. The bottom frame is welded first. The frame from below is presented in the form of separate reinforcing pieces. They need to be welded to the protruding parts of the reinforcement from the foundation and connected to each other;
    2. After that, vertical racks are installed in the corners. They are made of durable metal alloy, which provides maximum rigidity of the side faces;
    3. In parallel, on the front of the garage (where the entrance is planned), two posts for the gate need to be welded. If, in addition to the gate, a door is also planned, then two sash racks must be additionally attached to the frame. In some cases, experts advise installing two more doors in the place where the workbench or rack will be installed (if it rests on the wall);
    4. All racks must be welded together using the upper horizontal frame. The load-bearing parts of the roof are also installed on this part of the building;
    5. Another stiffening beam is installed in the center of the upper frame, which will serve as an additional support for the roof. From the end parts of the frame (or from the side where the entrance will be located), you need to weld another vertical rack, at the top of which the roof ridge will be located;
    6. Supports for sheathing are welded from the side corner of the upper frame;
    7. If planned gable roof, then it is recommended to install truss structures along the entire upper frame. They are distributed evenly over the area.

    After the sheathing of the metal garage begins. It is necessary to fasten sheets of corrugated board with an overlap. For this, self-tapping screws with rubber gaskets are used so as not to damage the galvanized coating.

    After the sheathing is completed, the insulation of the building can begin. The garage is insulated from the inside, after thermal insulation works you need to cover the material with rigid non-combustible sheets - these can be OSB, MDF or chipboard panels. Redecorating internal and exterior finish produced once a year. Capital (complete replacement of insulation, strengthening of the foundation - once every 5 years).
