How to make a metal garage yourself. A do-it-yourself metal garage is the best shelter for a car. Garage base

If you are not a supporter of heavy capital brick or small-block garages that require a solid foundation and roof, then you can opt for a metal garage designed for one car. Such construction can be completed in a fairly short period of time. In this case, the fastening of the main elements can be done either by welding or using bolts and nuts.

In this article we will tell you how to make such a garage, demonstrate drawings, photos and video materials.

Foundation

It is believed that a metal garage is lightweight design, under which a purely symbolic foundation is required (only deepening it around the perimeter by only 20-25 cm and approximately the same width). Another option is to fill in reinforced mesh concrete slab, which will simultaneously serve as both a foundation and a subfloor, or lay factory-made floor slabs on the ground.

However, in any case, the following conditions must be observed:

  • the top of the foundation or base slab should be 15-20 cm above ground level so that water does not flow during rain or melting snow;
  • the surface of the foundation or slab must be strictly horizontal;
  • At the corners of the foundation or solid slab, small sections of reinforcement must be concreted, to which the frame will later be welded.

It is better to pour the foundation at a time so that it forms a single monolithic element. Since creating a strip foundation does not require too much concrete, you can use a concrete mixer and make concrete directly at the location of the garage.

Manufacturing

The garage dimensions for storing one car are 3.3 by 5.5 (or 6) meters. At the same time, if you plan to carry out insulation (for example, with mineral wool), each of the indicated dimensions should be increased by 15-20 centimeters.

The frame can be welded from a large-section metal corner - this will make the structure rigid and durable. All work is carried out immediately at the installation site.

The frame assembly process consists of the following steps:

  1. The lower frame is welded first (do not forget to weld it to the rods protruding from the concrete at the corners of the structure so that the reinforcement outlets are inside the structure).
  2. Then the vertical corner posts are welded.
  3. In the front part, two side gate posts are installed and secured.
  4. All fixed racks in the upper part are connected to each other by the upper frame.
  5. After this you need to do load-bearing elements roofs, while:
  • with a pitched roof rack front side should be higher than others (the slope of the roof will be towards the rear wall);
  • with a gable roof you will also have to weld triangular truss structures and weld them to the upper frame.

Intermediate posts along all walls are welded at equal intervals to enhance the strength and rigidity of the entire structure. In this case, the pitch of the rack depends on the width of the metal sheet that will be welded to it as part of the wall.

If the sheets are fixed overlapping, then the distance between the posts should be 4-5 cm less than the width of the sheet.

It is welded or attached to the finished frame using bolts and nuts outer skin. It can be made from stamped sheets of galvanized or non-galvanized steel, as well as from corrugated sheets. In all cases, the metal thickness must be at least 1.2 mm.

On the roof, the sheets begin to be attached from the overhangs to the ridge, ensuring that the top sheets overlap the bottom sheets by 15 cm.

You can choose any type for a garage, but swing doors remain the most popular. They can also be welded directly at the installation site using a similar scheme: first, the frame of the panels is welded, then the metal casing is welded to it.

Insulation

If a metal garage is not insulated, then when weather conditions change, condensation may begin to appear on its walls. The simplest insulation option is to use polystyrene foam boards. They can simply be glued from the inside to the sheathing between the frame posts.

Expanded polystyrene (foam) has a big drawback: it burns. And the garage is a fire-hazardous room (there are cans of gasoline there, a car with a full gas tank, and all sorts of other flammable automotive liquids).

It is better to use non-flammable materials as insulation thermal insulation materials(for example, mineral wool in the form of hard mats), covering it with inside premises by any sheet material(OSB, chipboard, MDF, etc.).

The drawings below will help you decide on the size of the garage, roof configuration and gate type:

The price that a car owner pays for the safety and protection of his car in rental car parks and garages makes him think over time about how to solve this problem. If you have a plot of land that you own, welding a garage yourself is one of the most inexpensive ways reliable protection car.

The article will tell you how to do it correctly with your own hands.

Features of the construction of a welded garage

Before starting construction work, it is necessary to calculate its dimensions, which are influenced by the dimensions of the vehicle and the capabilities of the customer.

Optimal dimensions of a structure for storing passenger cars:

  • Length – 5.5 meters.
  • Width – 3.3 meters.
  • Height – 2.35 meters.
  • Opening dimensions for garage doors– 3x1.95 meters.

The construction of all buildings and structures begins with the foundation.

The choice of its type for a welded garage is influenced by the following indicators:

  • Depth of groundwater.
  • Soil freezing depth.

Tip: A welded garage has a relatively small mass, which makes it possible to construct a shallow strip foundation for it.

The sequence of work for such a foundation:

  • The site is being marked.
  • Removed upper layer soil.
  • A trench is dug approximately the depth of a spade bayonet.
  • The bottom of the trench is filled with a mixture of sand and gravel and compacted.
  • The formwork is being installed. It is made 15-20 centimeters above ground level.
  • The reinforcement is laid in the form of a lattice, the diameter of its elements is taken to be approximately seven millimeters.
  • It is poured into the trench concrete mortar, preliminarily inserted into each corner of the foundation, embedded elements - metal pins, which should be 15 centimeters above the level of the foundation.

Tip: The base level should be made higher than ground level, which will prevent soil and precipitation from getting inside the garage in the future.

For further installation of metal structures, it is necessary to let the solution sit for 28 days, covering the entire structure with film, which will prevent the concrete from drying out quickly.

How to install the frame

Installation of metal structures should begin with assembly.

It should be:

  • Durable enough.
  • Tough.
  • Sustainable.

These requirements are met by a structure assembled from profiled metal. Welding is used to connect parts together.

  • You can select ready-made drawings for the garage or make them yourself.
  • Available for purchase required amount material and tool:
  1. welding machine;
  2. angle grinder;
  3. drill;
  4. grinding wheels;
  5. plumb and level.
  • Blanks are marked and cut out.

All installation work will be carried out directly on the site of the future garage in the following sequence:

  • The frame for the lower belt is assembled.
  • The structure is fixed to pins protruding at the corners of the foundation.
  • Vertical corner posts are installed. For garage with pitched roof The front corner posts are 40 centimeters higher than the rear ones.
  • The upper belt is installed.
  • Rafter trusses are installed for the garage.
  • Intermediate side posts and jumpers are installed.
  • The gate is being installed.

Gate installation

They must be reliable and of high quality, and this depends not only on the material of manufacture, the type of gate, but also on how convenient it is to open and close. The last two requirements are influenced by garage hinges.

How to properly weld them to the gate in order to ensure accurate and even closing of the leaves, prevent distortion, and also prevent the gate from deforming under its own weight, the instructions will help, which will tell you the criteria for their selection and installation methods.

Wherein:

  • The shape of the hinges is selected, which can be:
  1. cylindrical, the most popular and easily installed type of hinge;
  2. hexagonal;
  3. tetrahedral.
  • The number of elements is determined, which depends on:
  1. from the weight of the sashes. For heavy structures weighing more than 150 kilograms, it is better to take three hinges;
  2. depending on the intensity of use door block. The more often the garage opens and closes, the greater the load.
  • Suitable sized plates for welding the hinges are selected. They help the hinges to withstand loads even with a large gate leaf weight. The plates are welded to the top and bottom of the loop, as can be seen in the photo below.

  • Before being properly welded, garage hinges are first clamped to the gate leaves, maintaining the alignment of the hinges.
  • A check is made to see how perfectly the gate fits into the garage opening.

Tip: When installing gates, maintain a gap of up to 7 millimeters between their leaves.

  • The gate leaves are placed in a vertical position and the hinge plates are grabbed onto their posts. The lower hinge is installed first.
  • The correct installation is checked.

Tip: The final welding of the plates should be done after preliminary installation of both sashes to ensure their high-quality closing and opening.

  • The hinges are scalded.

The video will show you in detail how to properly weld garage hinges.

  • Eyelets, valves, and a lock are installed (see). One gate leaf must be firmly secured. To do this, overhead bolts are attached to the top and bottom of the sash. There are several types of locks for garage doors:
  1. mounted They are the most popular, and in order for such a lock to become more reliable, its eyes are placed as close as possible to the gate leaf. This reduces the risk of hacking;
  2. mortise;
  3. invoices.

How to properly sheathe the outside of a garage

The next stage of construction is covering the garage.

The materials for covering the frame are:

  • Sheet metal 2.5 -3 millimeters thick.
  • Profiled sheet with a thickness of at least 1.2 millimeters. It is attached to the garage frame with self-tapping screws or welded around the perimeter.

Before assembly, you must select the type of welding.

The most common ones for performing this type of work are:

  • Manual electric arc welding.
  • Semi-automatic welding in carbon dioxide.

In this case, semi-automatic welding will be used.

For a garage, this type of welding has a number of advantages over welding with conventional electrodes:

  • High quality seams that can be made in any position without additional lining.
  • Possibility of welding metals of small thickness, reducing the likelihood of metal burning.
  • Low toxicity when welding elements and the absence of harmful fumes.
  • Low cost of welding seams.
  • Semi-automatic welding in a garage allows you to produce high-quality welds, and handling such equipment is much easier even for a novice welder. You can make minor repairs to your car or other equipment yourself.

Insulation of the garage

Since a metal garage is the most cold version to store a car, many people wonder: should it be insulated? However, significant changes in air temperature can lead to corrosion of the metal of the machine.

Therefore, if you decided to insulate your garage (see), the sequence of work will be as follows:

  • Done wooden sheathing inside the garage with a pitch of its elements of approximately 600 millimeters, which corresponds to the width of the insulation mat. The structure is treated with non-flammable impregnation.
  • By using construction stapler waterproofing is attached.
  • Insulation is being installed. Since the garage is a fire-hazardous room, glass wool is most often used, which is laid in a checkerboard pattern in two layers to cover the lower joints.
  • The mats are covered with a vapor barrier on top.
  • Mounted interior lining. It is used as:
  1. lining;
  2. plywood;

  • The gates are insulated.

Tip: Next to the gate you should hang a curtain made of thick fabric, which will retain heat in the room. The most commonly used material is a tarpaulin.

Floor arrangement

It is not necessary to insulate the floor in the garage.

If there is no cellar under the garage and inspection hole The sequence of work looks like this:

  • Approximately 20 centimeters of the top layer is removed.
  • The surface is leveled with a crushed stone-sand mixture and compacted.
  • Waterproofing material is spreading.
  • The reinforcement grid is laid.
  • Poured cement strainer on either cement mixture paving slabs are laid.

Manufacturing a welded garage allows the car owner to be confident in the future that his car will be kept safe at any time. It can also store summer and winter tires, spare parts and many other small items that no longer have a place in the house.

Metal garage has external cladding and roofing made of sheet metal. The following will be used for these purposes:

  1. Sheet steel:
  • with galvanized coating on a stainless steel base, from 0.4 to 2 mm thick;
  • hot rolled steel (thickness 0.5 - 4.0 mm), ordinary sheet, edged, preferable for all types of welding.
  • Profiled sheet(corrugated sheeting) C or NS - cold-rolled sheet material 0.8 mm thick with a wave-like profile and wave height from 8 to 44 mm:
    • with double-sided galvanized coating;
    • with decorative paint coating (GOST 30246);
    • with double-sided polymer coating (polyester - economical, pural, PVDF - universal).
    • with one-sided zinc-polymer coating.
  • Sandwich panel- multi-layer wall and roofing material (metal, heat insulator, adhesive layer made of polyurethane foam).

    How to assemble a metal garage?

    A metal sheet by itself is not capable of withstanding a load-bearing load. For these purposes you will need power frame . It will also be made of metal. Depending on the functional features buildings are suitable:

    • steel pipes of oval or rectangular profile 25x50 and 20x40;
    • corner 35x35;
    • steel channel.

    Connect all these elements between each other you can:

    • detachable connection (bolts, metal screws);
    • permanent connection (electric spot welding).

    Choice type of connection will simplify or complicate the construction process.

    If a screwdriver is enough to connect with detachable fasteners, then welding will require not only welding machine, but also the ability to use it, the skills to obtain a reliable weld.

    Why is it worth building?

    On what basis can you put metal garage? Since the garage weighs a little more than 1 ton, you can get by either with a foundation, or when erecting for a while - without it at all, mounting it on drive-in anchors.

    Things to consider:

    1. Iron for garage does not store heat, heats up quickly and cools down just as quickly.
    2. Appearance on interior walls ah condensate provokes the process rusting.
    3. In fire conditions the contents burns out.
    4. Hack the collapsible metal structure and even taking it out is not such a tricky thing.

    Suitable option for summer cottage will:

    • prefabricated garage factory designs; it is easily assembled (with a ready-made foundation) by 2 workers in 6 hours;
    • prefab garage on metal frame ; technology accessible to anyone who owns a tool and is familiar with the basics construction work; allows the use of used sheets and rolled elements;
    • ts spruce-welded construction, the reliability of which is higher, as are the requirements for the professionalism of performers.

    Materials and tools

    For installation work foundation:

    1. Tools:
    • tape measure and level;
    • cord for marking;
    • bayonet shovel;
    • concrete mixer;
    • rule.
  • Material:
    • river sand;
    • fine gravel;

    For installation frame:

    Tools:

    1. screwdriver;
    2. scissors and hacksaw for metal;
    3. electric saw;
    4. welding machine.

    Important: To build a garage with your own hands from metal, you need to choose a warm season, taking into account that it will take 2 weeks for concreting and a week for assembling the frame and cladding. For insulation and interior decoration, the floor installation will have to be completed in another week - in a month the metal garage will be ready. One condition - you need partner.

    Sequence of work

    Construction of a garage from metal structures with your own hands - algorithm of actions:

    1. Preparation construction site, alignment of horizontal lines by level.
    2. Marking the base.
    3. Preparing the soil for foundation:
    • digging a trench (under strip foundation) or pit (for columnar or pile);
    • installation of formwork from boards or OSB to form a base.
  • Device foundation:
    • waterproofing the outer walls of the foundation with roll sealant;
    • reinforcement of the trench space with a metal rod;
    • laying anchors or protruding metal pins in the corners for future fixation of the frame;
    • pouring concrete M 400.
  • Preparing a pit for or - vegetable storage.
  • For your information: The soil taken from the pit can be evenly scattered over the surface inside the garage, thereby raising it to the level of the base.

  • Construction of an inspection pit (caisson):
    • filling the bottom of the pit with a mixture of sand and gravel;
    • sealing the bottom and walls with film sealant;
    • construction of the floor and walls of the pit made of brick or concrete (caisson laying).

    • concrete M 300 is poured;
    • aligned with beacons;
    • On the screed, after it has set, logs are laid under the finished floor made of tongue-and-groove boards, or a rubberized coating (rolled or in the form of mats) is laid on the glue.

    The flooring in the garage can be double processing subfloor with a special composition, which after hardening gives an elastic rubberized layer with a 10-year guarantee. For reliability, 4 layers of this coating can be applied under studded tires.

  • Manufacturing for the garage:
    • frame assembly;
    • lining the door leaf with sheet material;
    • insert at the bottom of the intake ventilation grille;
    • fastening hinges and hanging gates;
    • installation of an opening (lifting) mechanism, bolts, locks.

    Considering protective covering cladding, for temporary placement of a car on warm season- scope of work sufficient. If vehicle If you have to stay in the garage all winter, and from time to time also go out, remaining ready for this, you will have to take care of insulation.

    How to make a metal garage with your own hands - drawing, calculation:

    How and with what do they insulate?

    If you thought about insulation at the design stage, frame can become a convenient basis for placing foam or polystyrene slabs 50mm thick. You can fix the insulation boards in the niches by welding reinforcing rods ᴓ6mm on top, or by placing the insulation on glue.

    It is advisable to stretch it over the insulation vapor-permeable membrane from natural fumes that are inevitable during the operation of the garage.

    But the safest thermal insulator for a garage would be mineral wool, which is fixed between the posts with a nylon tension cord. This method of insulation will require finishing of the interior to give the walls an aesthetic appearance. For finishing The internal walls of the garage are used:

    • metal and wooden lining;
    • drywall for painting.

    Important: To ensure that insulation is not formal, it is necessary to simultaneously insulate the roof, gates, and floor.

    Installation

    What to put a metal garage on? On runners. This type of base is used only for metal garages. The skids allow you to install the structure on any flat surface, move like a trailer to a new installation location.

    Installation on runners- type of welding work in which:

    1. Steel pipes ᴓ10-15 cm long, matching the length of the garage, are cut on one side at an angle of 45◦;
    2. 2 sections of pipes are welded to the sections, forming a bend of the runners.
    3. The runners are welded to the base of the lower frame trim along the entire length.
    4. The ends of the pipes are welded.
    5. A layer of bitumen is applied to the runners to protect the metal from corrosion.

    How to install a metal garage correctly?

    Installation metal garage on runners requires:

    • wooden floor installations;
    • devices of an inclined platform (ramp) for driving a car into the garage, since the runners create a difference in the level of the ground and floor.

    Reference: How to raise a metal garage? By using jack.

    To transport a metal garage and install a reliable foundation for it, you need to know the total weight of the structure. Calculations It’s easy to do using simple arithmetic operations if you know:

    • the total volume of the walls and roof (the product of the area and the thickness of the structural elements);
    • specific gravity of the metal.

    Specialists who manufacture metal garages indicate weight 1.2 tons.

    Ventilation system

    To stay safely in a metal garage that has no windows, you need ventilation system. The iron of the garage does not allow air exchange through the walls. Even with open gate in the depths of the room you can be exposed to the harmful effects of gasoline vapors.

    Ventilation in metal garage with your own hands:

    At the design stage, elements supply and exhaust system:

    • barred opening for fresh air at the bottom of the gate;
    • exhaust pipe in the roof, diagonally from the inlet.

    Important: The diameter of the exhaust pipe of a standard garage should be 15cm(1 cm per 1 cubic meter of garage space). Covers the pipe from above cap from ingress of precipitation. The inlet opening should be 1.5-2 times larger.

    Cold air enters the room at the bottom, heats up from the machine, is saturated with volatile vapors, rises up and stretches out into the pipe. This is how natural ventilation works in accordance with the laws of physics.

    Ventilation in a metal garage will turn into a combined one if you put it on the hood fan. Fully automate this process in a garage of this type doesn't make sense.

    Result: A metal garage cannot be compared in reliability and comfort with a permanent brick structure, but the speed of its installation and simplicity of design inspire many craftsmen to build it themselves metal box for auto.

    Being in the open air has a bad effect on the condition of the car, and in order to protect the vehicle from corrosion, it is necessary to build a garage for it. The desire to build a solid stone garage is not always feasible; in this case, an iron garage will be the optimal solution. Its installation will not require much time and large investments. Such a building does not require a capital foundation, but metal structure will last for more than a decade.

    Preparatory stage

    You can build an iron garage with your own hands without having any construction qualifications, just act according to technological sequence. The first thing you need to do is make a drawing of the building. It should take into account the dimensions of the car, workplace, shelves and racks. Typically the following values are taken:

    • height – 2‒2.5 meters;
    • width – 3‒3.5 meters;
    • length – 6 meters.

    Relying on finished drawing, carry out calculations and purchases necessary materials. For construction you will need: metal profile, steel or profiled sheets, concrete, reinforcement, boards, gate hinges, insulation, chipboard or plywood for interior decoration.

    1. Bulgarian.
    2. Level.
    3. Welding machine.
    4. Tape measure and marker.
    5. Shovel.
    6. Drill.

    How to make a foundation

    Any building begins with a solid foundation. For iron garage It is enough to make a strip foundation or pour a reinforced concrete slab under the structure. On the site selected and cleared of foreign objects, a place for the foundation is marked according to the completed drawing. Pegs are driven into the corners, and future walls are marked with stretched twine. The parallelism of the walls can be checked by measuring the diagonals; if the values are the same, everything is done correctly.

    A ditch up to 30 cm deep and 40 cm wide is dug along the marked lines. A sand and gravel cushion is poured onto the bottom, then formwork from boards is placed. It should protrude 20 cm above the trench. Spreads into the formwork polyethylene film reinforcement is attached as waterproofing. Anchors of at least 16 mm are installed in the corners, to which the structure frame will be attached. The formwork is poured with concrete and left for a week until it gains sufficient strength.

    Frame making

    1. The profile used for the garage frame should not have walls thinner than 3 mm to ensure the necessary structural rigidity. Work begins with the formation of the lower part adjacent to the foundation. Sections of the profile, cut to a given length, are laid around the perimeter, welded together and welded to the anchors protruding from the concrete.
    2. The next step is to install the corner posts. They must be set strictly vertically, checking the level, and welded to the lower frame and anchors. The racks are made with the corner facing outwards. Next, the remaining vertical posts are installed, the distance between them is equal to the size of the steel sheet. To strengthen the structure, you can weld additional corners diagonally between the posts.
    3. After installing the vertical supports, the upper frame is fixed.
    4. The roof of a metal garage can be single or gable. In the first case, the front roof pillars are made longer to ensure water flows to the rear. For a gable roof, a special triangle-shaped frame is made. Its height is 0.5 meters. The structure is created using rafters welded to vertical posts, a metal corner and a ridge beam.

    Wall and roof cladding

    After making the frame, sheathing is carried out with steel sheets or corrugated sheets. The metal can be attached using bolts or welding.

    Note! The galvanization of stamped sheets is damaged during welding, so it is better to fasten them with self-tapping screws.

    When fixed by welding, the metal is cut into desired length and attached to the corners, and then boiled together. The corrugated sheeting is installed with an overlap of 5 cm and bolted. After finishing the cladding, the metal is primed twice and then painted.

    Roof installation begins from the bottom, laying the top metal sheets on the lower ones with an overlap of up to 15 cm so that water does not flow into the room. To ensure reliability, the joints can be coated with sealant. But it is preferable to use sheets equal in size to the slope so that there are no seams.

    Gates

    The frame for the garage door is welded from a corner. Its structure is reinforced with reinforcement welded diagonally. The hinges are attached to the gates and posts by welding. The outer side of the structure is sheathed with metal, and the inside of the gate is finished with wood or other finishing material.

    Insulation of an iron garage

    Metal has high thermal conductivity and it will be very cold in such a garage in winter. The insulated room is different high level fire danger, therefore, it is better to use non-combustible materials such as mineral wool as insulation. Foam boards are also used, which are placed between the racks, but this material poses a fire hazard. Canvases mineral wool sewn up with moisture-resistant plywood or chipboard.

    Note! Wiring in the garage is done before installing insulation.

    Before buying a car, the future owner should think in advance where it will be stored.

    The easiest way in this case is to make and install a metal garage with your own hands; for this you only need construction material and construction drawings.

    Device

    Structurally, metal garages consist of the following elements:

    The most important system is the foundation, since it is on it that the pressure of the entire building will be exerted. The support should normally be at least 1 meter thick and 20 centimeters wide (with tape type), but the sole depends on the insulation and the choice of metal for the walls. Basically, a monolithic supporting system is installed under garages. To save money cement mortar You can use any available means: construction waste, rubble, FBS blocks, foam blocks, etc.

    The need for thermal insulation is specified separately. Insulating metal garages from corrugated sheets is almost always a mandatory task, since during the cold season the car will always be under the influence of natural temperature changes. These factors negatively affect its condition and service life.

    Video: DIY metal garage

    Used as insulation:

    1. Mineral wool. The simplest and cheap way, but this material is known for its ability to absorb water. Therefore, to extend the durability of the walls and protect them from corrosion, it is recommended to additionally use a waterproof film;
    2. Penoizol. Very expensive but practical option insulation. Foam is lightweight, so it is often used for thermal insulation. utility rooms built on a columnar or strip shallow foundation;
    3. Styrofoam. Unlike mineral wool, it does not absorb water, but repels it. Like penoizol, it is quite lightweight, but at the same time affordable.

    Arrangement of the supporting system

    Initially, the drawings calculate the position of the garage on the site. Please note that it is undesirable for there to be various communication pipes or wires near it; when excavating trenches, water supply, sewer or electrical networks can be damaged.

    Photo: monolithic foundation

    Before starting work, one point is selected from which marking will be carried out. It could be a tree, a fence or a house. The location of the trenches is marked, and holes are dug for filling. It is very important to ensure that the corners are even, otherwise the load-bearing capacity of the system will be significantly weakened.

    Instructions on how to install a foundation for a metal garage with your own hands:

    1. Select the size of the base. The dimensions of the garage are on average 6 meters by 3.5, but the base of the support should exceed them by 20–30 centimeters;
    2. Sand and crushed stone are poured into the bottom of the trench to create a sand cushion. Its height is on average 10–20 centimeters, depending on the total depth of the base;
    3. The foundation for a metal garage is necessarily reinforced with metal rods. The tie is installed in each corner, and keep in mind that the side walls will be installed along the reinforcement sections protruding from the foundation. They must not only be welded to the general reinforcing system and carefully concreted;
    4. Afterwards you can start filling. In order to save mortar, many craftsmen first fill the hole with construction waste and then fill it with mortar. When pouring, be sure to use a level; the surface of the support must be exactly horizontal;
    5. Try to calculate the work so that the foundation is poured in one go. This will ensure maximum rigidity, since the base will represent a single system.

    The average time for the solution to harden is a week, but this depends on the climate of the region and the characteristics of the soil (in humid areas this period can last up to two weeks).

    Assembly

    You can build a collapsible metal garage using either ready-made elements, and from parts made by hand. Let's consider the option of installing a finished building.

    Step-by-step instruction How to raise a metal prefabricated garage with your own hands:

    1. The lower frame is welded first. The frame below is presented in the form of separate reinforcement sections. They need to be welded to the protruding parts of the reinforcement from the foundation and connected to each other;
    2. After this, vertical posts are installed in the corners. They are made of durable metal alloy, which ensures maximum rigidity of the side edges;
    3. In parallel, on the front of the garage (where the entrance is planned), you need to weld two gate posts. If, in addition to the gate, you are also planning a door, then you need to additionally attach two racks for the doors to the frame. In some cases, experts advise installing two more doors in the place where the workbench or rack will be installed (if it will rest on the wall);
    4. All racks must be welded together using the upper horizontal frame. Load-bearing roofing parts are also installed on this part of the building;
    5. Another stiffening beam is installed in the center of the upper frame, which will serve as additional support for the roof. From the end parts of the frame (or on the side where the entrance will be located), you need to weld another vertical stand, at the top of which the roof ridge will be located;
    6. Supports for the sheathing are welded from the side corner of the upper frame;
    7. If you plan to have a gable roof, it is recommended to install rafter structures along the entire upper frame. They are located evenly over the area.

    Afterwards the cladding of the metal garage begins. The sheets of corrugated sheets must be overlapped. For this, self-tapping screws with rubber gaskets are used so as not to damage the galvanized coating.

    After finishing the sheathing, you can begin insulating the building. The garage is insulated from the inside after completion thermal insulation works you need to cover the material with rigid non-flammable sheets - these can be OSB, MDF or chipboard panels. Redecorating internal and exterior finishing produced once a year. Capital (complete replacement of insulation, strengthening of the foundation - once every 5 years).
