Tulle lampshade. How to make a do-it-yourself lampshade for a floor lamp: from threads, fabric, scarves and beads. How to update an old lamp at home

lampshades

An organza lampshade looks simply amazing, and you don’t need to water such a flower.

Materials and tools:
. Marsh Gold Organza and turquoise color
. Golden green beads
. golden wire
. Aerosol acrylic paint golden color
. Lamp
. Glue
. Pliers
. wire cutters

1. We cut out 40 petals along an oblique line from an organza of two colors.
2. We fold the petals of two colors in pairs and step back from the edge of 0.5 cm. We sew with a zigzag seam with stitches 2 cm wide. Cut off the excess fabric. Lightly pull along the seam of each petal so that the edges are wavy.
3. We cut the wire into 20 segments 10 cm long and fasten at their ends along the bead. We collect blanks in a bundle. We twist the ends of the wire so that a flat leg is obtained. These will be takeaways.
4. Cut off a wire 35 cm long and string 50 beads on it. We bend so that there are 30 beads on one end and 20 beads on the other.
5. Using glue, we fix the petals on the lampshade so that we get a flower.
6. We attach the stamens and a long wire, imitating brushes.
7. Paint the lampshade leg with gold paint.

making such a lampshade

An ordinary lampshade under an elegant cover looks completely new. The most suitable fabrics are light, rigid and transparent. Choose such tones so that a warm, caressing light comes from the lamp, white, cream and pink shades create a good mood. You can successfully use the old lampshade. For an ugly frame, take an opaque fabric - taffeta, light silk or thin cotton. If you like the color of the lampshade, let the design show through the transparent cover.

Curly lampshades
According to this method, the lower cover and the gathered upper cover are sewn separately, which are held on by an elastic band. The lining is put on the lamp and the upper edge of the lampshade, and the outer cover is attached a little lower, while the junction is hidden under a wide ribbon. Decorate the cover with a silk ribbon, light braid, emphasize its narrowed part with a bow, rosette or silk flower - this is a convenient occasion to practice with decorations. You will need: Concave frame or lampshade. Centimeter, ruler, pencil and scissors. Paper. Textile. Threads. Elastic band 6 mm wide. 2 safety pins. Tape 50 mm wide.

Measurements. Measure the lower circumference (A) with a centimeter, add 4 cm for the seam. Measure the length of the side (B), add 8 cm to the drawstring for the elastic. Determine the height of the outer cover (C) and add 1.5 cm for the hem. Write down your measurements.

Calculation of fabric consumption. According to the measurements taken, taking into account the allowances for the seams, draw a rectangle AxB on paper. Draw a second rectangle, taking into account the gathering allowance Cx2A. Determine the fabric consumption from the pattern - you need to cut one rectangle of each size.

Open. Poke the pattern onto the fabric with pins along the lengthwise and cut out the outer cover and lining.

Stitching lining and cover. Stitch the short sections of the lining with a French stitch. On open sections, stitch the drawstrings, tucking them first by 3 mm, then by 12 mm. On each drawstring, leave unsewn sections to thread the elastic. French stitch the short sections of the outer cover. Turn one long edge 3mm over and stitch. Tuck it in again by 3mm and stitch again.

Lining fit. Thread the elastic bands into the drawstrings, fasten the ends with pins. Put the cover on the lampshade, tighten the elastic bands so that the cover fits the lampshade. Trim the ends of the elastic bands and sew them together. Sew the drawstrings with a hidden seam.

How to measure the elastic band for the outer cover. Wrap the rubber band around the lampshade at the level of the top edge of the cover. Stretch the elastic band slightly so that the cover fits snugly. Cut off the elastic and sew the ends.

Attaching a rubber band. Fold the elastic in four, mark the folds with pins. Fold the cover in the same way and mark the folds. Pin the elastic to the top edge of the case with wrong side, aligning labels. Stretching the elastic and gathering the cover in folds, stitch the elastic in a zigzag pattern.

Finishing. Place the outer cover over the lining already placed on the lampshade. Tie a ribbon around the constriction to cover the line where the covers join, and secure with a few stitches. Decorate the lampshade with a bow, rosette or flower.

Lampshade - "coolie"
For a conical lampshade, you can also sew a cover. Here are the instructions for sewing the flowered sheer fabric lampshade cover mentioned above. Such a cover is simply glued to a small white conical lampshade. If you do not have an old lamp that can be refurbished, pick up an inexpensive lampshade that matches the color in the store. You will need: Tapered lampshade. Centimeter, ruler, pencil, scissors. Newspaper. Threads. Tape 35 mm wide for tying the top and for the bow. Glue universal.

Measurements. Measure the bottom edge of the lampshade (A), add 4 cm for the seam. Measure side (B), add 6 mm. Draw a 2AxB rectangle on paper, taking into account the seam allowances and calculate the fabric consumption.

Open. Cut out a rectangle of fabric according to the pattern along the share. Sew short sections with a French seam.

Hem. Fold one end in 3mm and topstitch. Tuck the edge 3mm again and stitch again.

Trimming the top edge. Fold the cover in four, mark the folds with pins. Sew along the top edge twice, starting and ending at the pins. Mark four equal sections on the top edge of the lampshade with a pencil. Put the cover on the lampshade and, matching the marks, adjust it to fit the size. Spread the gathers evenly, fasten the threads and remove the cover.

Top binding. Cut the ribbon so that it covers the top edge, add 1.5 cm to sew the ends with an overlap. Fold the tape over the gathered edge, tuck one edge, attach the tape. Sew the tape to the edge, grabbing both sides and gathers into the seam.

Finishing. Put the cover on the lampshade, glue with universal glue in several places. Tie the remaining ribbon in a bow at the glued area to hide it.

Advice. Tulle lampshade. To cover from thin and soft tissue better kept on the lampshade, it can be strengthened with a stiff tulle lining. Measure the distance from the edge of the lampshade on one side to the edge on the opposite side through the top. Cut a circle of this diameter from tulle. Drape it symmetrically on the lampshade and cut out a circle to cover the top. Sew the cover as above, but baste the lining before you tape the top edge.

The color of the lampshade under a transparent cover with a small frill at the top harmonizes perfectly with the decor of the room. Sew a cover, as for a conical lampshade. Close the gathering seam with a ribbon with a bow or a garland of roses.

Types of lampshades
Making a lampshade with your own hands is not difficult at all - this is good way save.

Table lamps and pendant lights play a prominent role in the interior. These are not just light sources in the house, but also important decor elements. You can reduce spending on decor and choose the perfect lamp if you make a lampshade with your own hands.

What you need to make a lampshade
Kits for most of our models are commercially available. But if you don't have a lampshade unusual shape, you can find an original old model in a thrift store, which you will design to your liking.

Frames. The frame consists of the top and lower rings, connected by racks, and the base for the lampshade. The rings and the shape of the uprights determine the type of lampshade. For example, in a lampshade in the form of a cylinder, the diameters of the upper and lower rings are the same. Rings are connected straight uprights. The elegant "concave empire" lampshade has an upper ring smaller than the lower one and the pillars are gently curved inward.

Materials. To make and fit the frame, you will need: Durable cotton paper tape dense weave, which is wrapped around the frame so that the lampshade can be sewn on. Self-adhesive paper tape if the lampshade will not be sewn on. Enamel for painting a metal frame.

Textile. When choosing fabric for a lampshade, follow the rules: Look through the fabric at the lamp and check how it transmits light. For an unlined lampshade, you need a thick fabric that will hide the contours of the lamp and racks. If the contours are visible through the lampshade, make a lining. The fabric sets off the light of the lamp. For example, blue and green lampshades give a cold light, red and yellow - a warm reflection.

Fittings. Attachments for lamp fittings are attached to each frame. Usually lampshade table lamp fastened to its stand by a suspension ring with spacers or to a special frame that rests directly on the armature; small “candle” lamps have clips that hold the lampshade. Lampshades hanging lamps hung on a rebar.

Parchment paper for a smooth lampshade. Self-adhesive PVC sheet is a rigid polyvinyl chloride sheet to which fabric or other material can be glued. A decorative trim that is glued or sewn on to mask the seams and finish off the lampshade.

A dark heavy fabric lampshade lets in light from above and below and creates a directed stream of light.

A thick fabric is not suitable for a pleated lampshade. On the expanding lampshade, the pattern is more distinct at the bottom. Check how the folded piece of fabric looks.

For a curly lampshade, soft, easily draped fabrics are needed. The pattern of the fabric should fit nicely diagonally.

Frame manufacturing
Before covering the frame of the lampshade with fabric, it must be prepared depending on the type of frame and the fitting material. For example, if you are making a cardboard cap on a frame with plastic coated, no preparatory operations are required. The metal frame should first be painted with white enamel so that it does not rust. The old frame must be cleaned with sandpaper. If you will sew the lampshade to the frame, then you must first paint the frame and wrap it with tape, after which you can sew on the cover.

Frame painting. If the metal frame is not covered with PVC, it should be painted. Remove rust marks with sandpaper. Sand the frame so that bumps and protrusions do not damage the fabric. Paint the uprights and rings with white enamel, but don't touch the center ring.

Frame wrapping. If the frame is covered only with fabric, then you need to wrap it with cotton tape. Do not wind the suspension and fittings of the ceiling light. To calculate the amount of webbing, measure the length of each post and the circumference of each ring and multiply by 3. This will be the total length of the webbing. If a white ribbon shows through the dark fabric, paint the ribbon to match the color of the lampshade.

Rack wrap. Cut strips of tape 3 times the length of the stand. Start work from the top end of the rack. Wrap the end of the ribbon around the ring, then around the post to secure the end. With light tension on the tape, wrap the upright in a spiral from top to bottom so that each turn covers and holds the previous one. The finished winding must not move.

Winding fastening. When you reach the bottom of the rack, wrap the braid around the ring, thread the end into the last turn to make a knot. Tighten the braid tightly and leave a free end. Wrap all the racks in this way, except for one.

Wrapping the top ring. Measure the circumference of the top and bottom rings and the height of the last unwrapped post. Cut the string to the given length. Roll up the tape and secure with a rubber ring, leaving a free end of 20 cm. Hold the end of the tape in front of the top ring at the unwrapped rack. Pass the ribbon over the ring over the free end, secure the end.

Completion of work. Wrap the top ring, wrap the braid around each rack with a “figure of eight”. Having reached the unwrapped rack, secure it with a “figure of eight” and wrap it from top to bottom. Make a figure eight at the bottom and wrap the bottom ring. On each rack, cut the ends of the braid to 1 cm and hide them under the wound “eight” braid. When finished winding, cut all ends of the braid to 6 mm, tuck and sew by hand.

How to choose a base stand
The lampshade and the stand-base of the lamp must form a single whole. There are a few principles to keep in mind when choosing a base stand and lampshade. The lampshade should completely cover the fittings, but not the lamp stand-base. The bottom diameter of the lampshade should be twice as wide as the widest point of the base stand. The height of the lampshade should be 1-2 times the height of a round or vase-shaped base stand. The height of the lampshade for the stand-base and candle should be 1/3 of the height of the stand.

It happens that you really want to update the interior, but you don’t know where to start. Sometimes you just need to change the lighting. But buying a new lamp is expensive, and in some cases it is not even required. We invite you to consider a few master classes on how to update a table lampshade

What you need to create lampshades

You can update lampshades for your own hands with absolutely any materials:

  • fabric;
  • artificial flowers;
  • skin;
  • thread and rope;
  • paper and so on.

It is also a must to have tools such as scissors and a glue gun.

A simple and original way to decorate an old lamp

Such lamps are very well suited for a feminine interior in a chic style. To give the lampshade this look, take the following materials:

  • shade;
  • artificial flowers (flower stalks can be bought at craft stores, but you can buy bouquets and cut off hats from them, sometimes it turns out cheaper);
  • glue gun;
  • scissors.

Master class on how to update the lampshade for a table lamp with your own hands:

  1. Cut off the excess parts of the stem from the flowers, leaving only the cup that connects the petals.
  2. Heat up the glue gun.
  3. Apply some hot glue to the cup of one flower spike and stick it to the lampshade. Start working from the top or bottom edge. Glue flowers either in a circle or in rows, pressing them tightly against each other.
  4. Hot glue dries quickly, so work carefully.
  5. When you have glued the entire lampshade, fluff the flower petals.

Tip: interesting do-it-yourself lampshades for table lamps are obtained by combining several shades of colors that flow smoothly.

Geographic lampshade

Such a lamp will look great both in the living room and in the child's room.

You will need:

  • shade;
  • map;
  • ribbon;
  • PVA glue;
  • some water;
  • tassel;
  • glue gun.

Master class on how to make geographical lampshades for table lamps with your own hands:

  1. Prepare a map. You can buy it in a store, print it, or it can be special sheets for decoupage.
  2. Mark the required width on the map and cut out the rectangle. If you do not have enough to completely wrap around the lampshade, then add another piece.
  3. Dilute in a small amount of water.
  4. Cover the map with reverse side glue and carefully stick it to the lampshade. Use your fingers to smooth out any bumps, if any.
  5. Wait for the card to dry completely.
  6. Cut off the excess paper.
  7. Heat up and use it to glue the tape along the edge of the lampshade at the top and bottom.

The geographical lampshade is ready!

Book sheets as decor

In the same way, as in the previous mater-class, you can decorate lampshades for using book pages.

To do this, tear out a few pages from an old book and trim their edges so that they are not frayed. Lubricate each sheet with PVA glue and glue it on the lampshade in a chaotic manner. The paper should stick out a little at the edges. When all sheets are glued, tuck the protruding edges inward.

Warm lampshade with ombre effect

Such a lamp is ideal for the cold season, as it will bring a note of warmth and comfort to any interior.

List of what you need:

  • shade;
  • several types of yarn suitable friend to a friend on the color palette (for example, white, navy blue and turquoise);
  • glue gun.

A master class on how to make a beautiful lampshade for a table lamp with your own hands:

  1. Place a small bead of glue just above the base of the lampshade (about one centimeter from the edge).
  2. Glue one end of the yarn to the drop. Choose the one with a darker shade.
  3. Wrap the lampshade with yarn, making sure that each new row fits snugly against the previous one.
  4. Wind a certain height with one color. The last turns should not fit snugly against each other, but be at different distances, cover the lampshade a little randomly (picture 1).
  5. Glue a yarn of a different shade with a glue gun. The new color should be at the level of the old one (picture 2).
  6. Wrap the yarn around the lampshade, and you will end up with two colors intersecting in some rows. This is necessary so that the shades have smooth transition and no striped pattern came out.
  7. When you have wound the required level of yarn of the second color, make a few loose turns (picture 3).
  8. Wind the third color of yarn, remembering to glue the tip.
  9. Finish wrapping the lampshade. To do this, the third yarn should go in tight rows to the edge of the lampshade, and glue the end (picture 4).
  10. Turn the lampshade over and wind the yarn to the end.

The warm lampshade is ready!

Lampshade with roses

You will need to take the following tools and materials:

  • shade;
  • cardboard;
  • pieces of fabric;
  • green yarn;
  • ribbon;
  • glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • pencil.

A master class on how to decorate a lampshade for a table lamp with your own hands (a photo of the process is attached):

  1. Draw flower leaves on cardboard, and then cut them out (picture 1).
  2. Glue green yarn to the edge with a glue gun (picture 2).
  3. Wrap the yarn tightly around the leaf (picture 3).
  4. Glue the tip of the thread and make a few more leaves in the same way (picture 4).
  5. Cut a few strips from the fabric about one to two centimeters thick (picture 4).
  6. Fold one strip in half, dropping a little glue inside along the entire length (picture 5).
  7. Twist the strip tightly, sometimes dripping glue on the edge to keep it from coming apart (pictures 6 and 7).
  8. Straighten the edges of the figure a little, and you will get a rose (picture 8).
  9. Make several roses in the same way, different in size.
  10. Carefully glue the roses on the lampshade (picture 9).
  11. Do not forget to glue the leaves under the roses in some places.

Volumetric lampshade is ready!

New lampshade with ombre effect

To make a smooth and beautiful transition from one color to another, you need a suitable coating. To do this, it is recommended to make a lampshade with your own hands.
You will need:

  • lampshade frame;
  • cotton plain fabric (preferably white, beige or light gray);
  • small bath or basin;
  • paint (watercolor, for hair, for fabric, gouache and any other liquid);
  • glue gun.

A master class on how to make a lampshade for a table lamp with your own hands with an ombre effect:

  1. Take the lampshade frame and fabric.
  2. Turn on the glue gun.
  3. Wrap fabric around the lampshade and carefully glue the edges together. Cut off the excess fabric.
  4. Wrap the top and bottom edges inside the lampshade and glue them with a glue gun.
  5. Fill a bowl or bath halfway with water and dilute the paint in it.
  6. Lower the lampshade not completely into the bath and pull it out.
  7. Do this procedure several times, gradually reducing the dipping height. Thus, the paint will be more absorbed at different levels, creating a smooth transition of shades of the same color.
  8. Hang the lampshade in the bathroom and let it dry.

All is ready!

How to make a lampshade from scratch

The previous master class told how to update a boring or outdated lampshade. And what to do if there is nothing to work with and there is not even a frame? Then you can easily make a lampshade with your own hands.

For this you need to take:

  • textile;
  • masking tape;
  • large ruler and centimeter;
  • pencil;
  • scissors;
  • plastic sheet (can be found in construction stores or among goods for needlework);
  • wire rings;
  • large clips-clothespins;
  • PVA glue or;
  • glue gun;
  • special splitter for lamps (sold in lighting stores).

Operating procedure

A master class on how to make a new lampshade for a table lamp with your own hands:

  1. Take a tape measure and measure the diameter of your wire rings. This will be the diameter of the lampshade.
  2. Put a plastic sheet on the table and measure the length and width of the future lampshade on it
  3. Cut out the marked rectangle.
  4. Turn the fabric inside out on the table.
  5. Pin the edges of the fabric so it doesn't move.
  6. Cover the plastic rectangle with a layer of PVA glue or double-sided tape.
  7. Gently place the rectangle with the sticky side on the fabric.
  8. Press the fabric against the sheet and smooth it out.
  9. Cut off excess fabric.
  10. Roll the canvas.
  11. Glue the canvas with a glue gun.
  12. Connect the seam with clothespins and place the part on the table.
  13. Put a weight on top of the seam so that it does not stick out.
  14. Wait for the part to dry.
  15. Place inside the parts from above and below along the ring.
  16. Attach a special splitter to the upper ring.
  17. Glue the rings with a glue gun.
  18. Attach paper clips to the edges so that the rings stick better. Leave it like that for a while.
  19. Glue a ribbon to the top and bottom of the lampshade, wrap half of it inward.
  20. Cut a strip of fabric, fold the edges over and glue to the seam.
  21. Cut two more strips of fabric, also turn the edges and glue them to the top and bottom of the lampshade.
  22. Wait until all items are dry.

A brand new lampshade is ready!

So, having figured out how to do it right, we take on its main lighting and at the same time decorative elements: a lampshade and a ceiling. Reflectors are technologically simpler; their manufacture and fastening to the supporting structure of the chandelier does not cause difficulties.

About attaching lampshades

The Internet is full of pictures with really very beautiful homemade lamps. However, considering them Ask yourself: how do you replace a light bulb? The answer is not always found in the primary sources. Ways of fastening lighting elements in lamps that allow replacing the lamp without the use of a tool will be discussed in, but the technological methods described later in this article are designed to ensure that the lampshade in this case either moves up or is removed down, or you can simply climb into it with your hand.

materials

In order of increasing complexity (and durability), do-it-yourself lampshades and ceiling lamps at home can be made from paper, plastics, threads, ready-made tubes different kind, twine or yarn, framed with a fabric cover and stained glass. The last 2 are quite complex, but with a skillful approach to work on lighting and decorative qualities, they can surpass expensive purchased ones.

Paper

It is easiest to make a paper lampshade: from materials other than paper, you will need threads and PVA glue, and from a tool - a sewing needle, scissors and, possibly, a sharp mounting knife. However, paper lampshades are fragile and therefore suitable mainly for chandeliers. But a damaged paper lampshade is easy to replace with a new one.

You can make a lamp out of paper a little stronger in various ways. The simplest is to collect a balloon-ball from paper strips, gluing them at the poles and among themselves, pos. 1 in fig. However, the design in this case is uniform: sufficient strength of the product is ensured only and only by its spherical shape.

Another way is to strengthen the paper itself. It will require some additional material: copper enameled winding wire with a diameter of 0.25-0.4 mm or threads. In the first case, the lampshade will fit without additional hardening for a floor lamp, and in the second, for overhead decorative elements, you will need a solid supporting base, for example. from a plastic bottle. The paper for the lampshade is strengthened with wire as follows:

  • On a sheet with a density of 90-140 g/sq. see deduce the contours of the details.
  • With a finely sharpened pencil, or a mechanical one with a 0.6 mm rod, the stiffness grid lines are drawn. If the lampshade will be glued together from several solid or slightly cut sheets, the grid lines should form a seamless pattern.
  • Apply a thin layer of PVA glue with a brush.
  • When the glue dries to a tack, the veins are applied along the grid - stiffeners - from the wire.
  • Lubricate the same PVA sheet with a density of 35-60 g / sq. cm, impose on the first and gently smooth with your fingers.
  • A day later, the details are cut out with scissors, glued together and painted. In this way, you can even make imitations of wings rare species butterflies, pos. 2; in this case, Maak's swallowtail.

When using threads, both sheets are taken with a density of up to 60 g / sq. see Then, as said, you will need a carrier base, but it is possible to imitate even the texture of rose petals, pos. 3.

Note: a paper lampshade, durable "almost like a real one" can be made from papier-mâché. The technology, rather laborious, is described below, see lampshades for the kitchen.

Plastics

It is elementary to make a lampshade for a chandelier from disposable plastic cups fastened with a stapler, see fig. Its lighting qualities are very good, but the view is frankly utilitarian. Therefore, it makes sense to use such lampshades in rooms with rather high requirements for the quality of lighting, but not in front rooms. The radiation pattern (DN) of the glass lampshade forms a cardioid.

Lampshade made of plastic glasses

A fan-shaped DN with a wide opening, very soft light in the central spot and uniform illumination in the side zone, makes it possible to achieve a lamp with a cone lampshade (or pineapple?) from bitten plastic spoons based on a PET bottle with a cut bottom, see fig. Effective softening of light is achieved by the fact that the spoons work as translucent bowl-shaped reflectors. They are glued to the bottle and glued together with silicone glue, mounting or glue gun. Cyanoacrylate glue is also suitable, but it must be taken thick. Cheap "superglue" is very fluid, the streaks will spread everywhere and spoil the glossy surfaces of the spoons.

From bottles alone, you can also make good lampshades. For example, a sphere from their bottoms fastened with a stapler, like stopar cups (see the figure for a mini-master class) will give a cardioid pattern; however, in comparison with the "ustakanenny" noticeably distorted. But in the country or in utility rooms a chandelier from the bottoms is quite useful.

Bottle bottom lampshade

Romantic soft light, somewhat spotty, but within acceptable limits, will give a ceiling-ball from bottle "hedgehogs"; however, they are more like blooming sea anemones - sea anemones, see photo on the right. It’s not difficult to make the “hedgehogs” themselves: the bottoms are cut off from the bottles, side walls to the scar, before narrowing, they are cut into the neck, the strips are wrapped around the neck, glued with droplets of glue and, for reliability, fixed with threads or tape. However, to assemble the "hedgehogs" into a ceiling, you will need a transparent spherical base. It is obtained similarly to a lampshade made of threads (see below), only the threads are taken from white nylon or propylene no thicker than the 20th number, and instead of PVA - a colorless water-based acrylic varnish.

A very uniform illumination allows you to achieve, and very decorative, a lampshade made of leaves cut from bottles, see fig. It is assembled on a temporary spherical mandrel, see below.

The step-by-step master class in this case is also simple, but it requires patience, accuracy, some additional tool and, possibly, material:

  1. We are preparing a soldering iron with a bronze nickel-plated tip (for dry soldering) at 40 W or with a conventional copper tip at 25 W;
  2. If the sting is copper, you will also need a Teflon (fluoroplastic) tape 0.06 mm wide 60-80 mm;
  3. Cut out the leaves from the bottle. From the point of view of lighting technology, pale green or light brown are better suited;
  4. With a soldering iron tip (copper - through the film), we slightly melt the edges of the leaves, otherwise they will look unnatural;
  5. With the tip of the sting (copper also through the film), we “draw” the veins;
  6. With the plane of the sting between the veins, with light touches, we slightly melt the surface so that, like real leaves, it is not quite smooth;
  7. Again, with the tip of the sting deeper, but without piercing, we bring out the central vein. It is convenient to do this on a soft heat-resistant lining (coarse calico or felt will go in several layers);
  8. We put a thread in the central vein and melt it by “winding” the side roller onto the hollow;
  9. Complex leaves, if required, we form by tying the threads of the leaves;
  10. Having spread the leaves on the film (now any), we impregnate the threads with acrylic varnish from the pipette. After it dries, the foliage is ready for assembly.

Threads

Manufacturing procedure Christmas decorations and lamps made of threads is described in RuNet many times. For example - video:

Video: do-it-yourself twine / thread lampshade

Here it can only be noted that, firstly, it will take at least 100 m of thread for a medium-sized lampshade. Secondly, it makes no sense to use inflatable balls as mandrels: after 10-20 turns, under the pressure of stretched threads, the ball protrudes where it is not necessary, and the result is something unspeakable. Thirdly, it is also not necessary to pre-soak the threads in flour paste: the product will turn out to be fragile and not moisture resistant.

As a mandrel in the manufacture of a lampshade from threads, it is best to use a tightly inflated chamber from a sports ball or a durable silicone beach ball inflated from a pump through a nipple. The mandrel is lubricated several times with petroleum jelly (lanolin), carefully rubbing it with your hands. It won't hurt the ball in any way; on the contrary, it will prolong its life.

Further, the thread is wound on the mandrel, continuously pulling through the simplest device, see fig. This mini-impregnating bath, so that it does not accidentally crawl, tip over and douse something with glue, is fixed on the table with adhesive tape; Convenient double sided. The glass is first pierced with a needle and thread, then poured with PVA or acrylic varnish and wound, tightening as necessary. Usually the thread goes through the bath itself, because. glue until it dries is a good lubricant.

When winding, do not forget to leave a window for entering the cable and cartridge - the strength of the cut thread ball drops sharply! A day after its completion, air is released from the mandrel and pulled out through the same window. It, “pro-vaselined”, sticks to the threads very rarely and fragilely: you can tear it off by slightly pulling or pressing it with your finger, and the product remains intact.

Note: instead of threads, you can use jute, sisal or propylene twine, but there is best use, see below.

And where is it all?

Plafonds-balls, see fig., Suitable for the nursery, because. form an even soft light. The one on the left is made from paper cupcake wrappers on a thread ball base. Threads - propylene or thin nylon colorless; binder - acrylic varnish. White in the coil, after impregnation with varnish, such threads become almost transparent. Lampshade-ball of cups (on the right) is not so interesting, because the dishes are all the same, but it is more difficult to tear it apart.

In the hallway, a hemispherical lampshade from the same cups is more suitable, see fig. on right. With a low lamp power (more precisely, its luminous flux), it will give a bright spot below and acceptable illumination of the rest of the room, so you can use low-heating incandescent lamps of 15-30 watts. The fact is that the resource of economy lamps and LEDs is sharply reduced with frequent on / off. And a low-power incandescent lamp, especially in the hallway, where the light is constantly off, will not significantly increase the cost of electricity.

A special case is the kitchen. The requirements for lighting in it are set out in a previous article. But the lampshade in the kitchen quickly gets dirty, and the soot eats in hard. Recall: bright light contributes to the condensation and bituminization of vapors of organic compounds. This is the sedimentation of soot; the lampshade is illuminated most brightly.

The simplest way out is a disposable paper lampshade. "Bump", as in pos. 1 fig. below, will give just the character of lighting needed in the kitchen, but you will have to do it again quite often. It is better to mold a papier-mâché lampshade on a suitable mandrel, pos. 2. After varnishing with acrylic varnish, it can be gently washed with a cloth with dishwashing detergent, and painted with a blacksmith's patina, it will look like handmade forged and certainly not like some old newspapers.

But the lampshade on pos. 3 - juice straws glued to the bottle - an example of an unsuccessful solution. Such a lampshade will give an ideal light for the kitchen (straws work partially as light guides), but it gets dirty quickly, you can’t clean it properly in any way, and the product is laborious. Plastic reflectors for local lighting kitchen lamps are best made from reusable plastic tableware, pos. 4, it is quite durable, inexpensive and easy to clean. Cups with handles and saucers, of course, are a matter of design decision, but bowls without a pattern are what you need.

How to make papier-mâché?

Papier-mâché material is useful for many purposes, so let's recall the technology of its preparation and use:

  • Old newspapers, or better, the cheapest unglued writing paper, are torn into shreds about the size of a thumbnail. You will need a lot of paper!
  • Scraps to the top fill a suitable dish; say, a liter glass jar.
  • In boiling water, dilute 1/3-1/5 by volume of PVA.
  • While the solution has not cooled down, fill it with paper pulp.
  • Stir until the paper completely spreads into fibers.
  • After cooling, papier-mâché is poured into consumable dishes or immediately put into action. You can store paper paste for up to 6 months. in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container.
  • Prepare the next batch in the same way.
  • If the paper paste immediately goes to work, you can add the next one to the pasted area of the mandrel, while the previous one is still wet and wrinkled with your fingers. If you finish it dry, the product, having dried, may fall apart into “cakes”.
  • The workpiece is ready for varnishing, painting, etc. after a week of drying at a temperature of at least 22 degrees. The air temperature around the workpiece must be the same on all sides! Dry on a battery, convector, in direct sunlight or infrared emitter it is forbidden!

tubules

Lampshades and plafonds made of pieces of tubes are most often made for night lamps and lamps in the bedroom: due to the round section, they always have a significant refraction of light, which can be very intimate and romantic, but in most cases it is undesirable for permanent and working lighting. Lampshades made of translucent tubes also give a rather spotty light, see fig.; if you use pieces of a thin transparent PVC hose, then the play of light will turn out to be very beautiful, but you don’t need to look at it for a long time, and even more so read or sew in such a light.

Paper and other fibrous materials do not refract light much, but the tubes made of them are fragile in themselves. For example, it is better to make a lampshade from newspaper tubes on a frame, see below: precisely because they wrinkle easily, thin paper tubes are an excellent material for weaving. As for the lighting properties, paper, especially pure paper, is excellent.

Lampshade on the frame

Now let's get down to the lampshades, which are suitable for anywhere, incl. and for a table lamp, which can be pushed to the floor with an elbow. In addition, we will set the condition that the lampshade trim can be washed, cleaned, changed at will. Therefore, we do not touch glass or solid hard plastic lampshades; Also, you can't make them at home. That is, let's deal with lampshades on a frame with soft lining.

About lampshade fabrics

The decorative light cover of the lampshade is preferably sewn from fabric with fleecy threads, i.e. natural. Due to diffraction on smooth synthetic filaments, the light penetrating through such a lampshade may turn out to be hard. It is not difficult to choose a fabric for a lampshade by eye: through the sample, turning it smoothly, they look at some compact bright light source; preferably LED, because it gives the most coherent, i.e. orderly, light. The selection criterion is simple: the less moiré fringes observed from different angles of view, the better the fabric.

About lampshade restoration

The frame of the lampshade is quite laborious and technologically complicated, so first you need to look around at the farm: is there a lampshade from an old lamp lying around somewhere. Straightening it, repairing and updating the lampshade with a new cover will be easier than making a frame from scratch.

The discovered “basket” may turn out to be a very fanciful shape, and in order to build patterns (see below), it will be necessary to accurately measure its diameters in several places. In this case, a home-made caliper from 3 wooden slats and a pair of drawing squares will help out. Of course, he will not give the accuracy of the factory gauge, but achievable (+/-1 mm) is enough for cutting and sewing work. An idea of the possibilities of such a tool is given in Fig.

The measurement procedure is 2-stage: on the sponges in the places where they touch the object, marks are made with a pencil, and then the size is taken between the marks with a tape measure. In order for the movable sponge to slide more smoothly, and, accordingly, to measure more accurately, a fluoroplastic film must be placed under the rubber bands holding it. To measure small diameters, the sponges are turned over with squares outward.

Building a pattern

Now we remove the necessary diameters: the lower and upper hoops (D1 and D11 in pos. 1 in the figure), the largest and smallest on the belts (D2, D6, D10), at the bends, i.e. where the curvature of the generatrix changes sign (D4, D8) and at breaks (D5). Others we take more or less evenly between the mandatory ones.

The diameters of the pattern of 6 wedges will be, taking into account the tightening of the fabric, equal to half of the measured diameters (pos. 2). If the wedges of the finished sleeve are supposed to be more or less, proportionally change the proportion of the diameter in the corresponding cross section of the pattern. But it's too early to cut and sew.

There, at pos. 2 shows that the stitching allowance is geometrically not completely similar to the template. In knot I (inward kink), this is not so bad: you can sew on a backsleeve and tighten the seam with a cord. If the decor of the lampshade involves ruffles, frills, scallops, etc., then perhaps this is how it should be: small folds will fall into place, and the cord will not be visible in the break of the contour.

However, on the contour shelf (node II), whatever one may say, it is not possible to give an allowance so that the seam does not “leave”. In higher geometry, it is proved why, but we don’t need to climb into this jungle: we will simply cut the paper template along “capricious” diameters at breaks and shelves (pos. 3).

Cover tailoring

Now, how to sew a lampshade according to our patterns? First, separate parts of the sleeve are sewn; in this case bottom, middle and top. Then, the widest adjacent part (here, the middle) is sewn to the widest belt (bottom). Then, in the same way, 2 parts following the width are sewn together, etc. The bottom line is that the shortest transverse seam (we have Seam 2) is sewn last. In this sample, after sewing the bottom with the middle, the top is sewn to them. The tailoring of the cover is completed by trimming the excess allowances, except for the lower and upper collars. The edges must be hemmed.

Frame cover

The next stage is the landing of the cover on the frame. Here the machine can be sent to the closet: the work is exclusively manual. Step by step, the covering of the frame of the lampshade with a cover is carried out as follows:

  1. The cover is turned inside out (that it was sewn from the inside, probably, and so it is clear) and put on the frame;
  2. Wrap inward and stitch the top lapel;
  3. Tighten and trim the fabric to the first fold (here - D8). If there was no hoop in the original sample, it must be placed in advance, see below;
  4. The fabric is basted to the ribs of the frame from top to bottom alternately, and to the hoop at the inflection;
  5. Repeat paragraphs. 3 and 4 to the next bend (now D5), and so on to the bottom hoop;
  6. Wrap and stitch the bottom lapel.

frame

How the simplest lampshade frame of a table lamp or floor lamp is arranged can be seen in pos. 1 fig. Hanging for a chandelier is different in that the ring will be at the top, the extensions from it will go to the upper hoop, and then additional holes are needed in the ring for attaching the suspension.

The ring is cut out of a well-soldered and strong enough sheet metal(bronze, brass, galvanized steel 0.4-2 mm thick) or durable plastic from 1 mm. A computer disk is suitable, under the E10 cartridge it will only need to drill holes for extensions and fasteners. The main dimensions of the ring for the E27 cartridge with fastening with union shaped nuts (pos. 3) are given in pos. 2. But it is unacceptable to make a ring for fastening in the gap between the body and the chuck collar with a skirt (pos. 4)! Such cartridges are fastened only with a threaded fitting in the cover!

How stretch marks are attached to the ring is shown in pos. 5: their blanks are not completely bent with a hook, inserted into the mounting holes and gently squeezed with pliers. Then, if the ring is metal, solder (see below). If plastic - fix with drops of superglue or silicone.

solder assembly

Frame parts are made of plastic steel wire with a diameter of 1.5-2 mm or bicycle spokes. The latter are much stronger, do not rust and do not require painting, but they must be bent carefully and they are soldered worse. To solder the frame you will need:

  • Soldering iron of at least 65 W (preferably 100-150 W).
  • 6% orthophosphoric acid solution. Sold, for soldering, in radio shops and construction. Orthophosphoric acid is also available as food additive E338 in the form of needle-like colorless hygroscopic crystals.
  • Flux paste (gel for soldering), always with borax.
  • Thin, 0.15-0.35 mm bare copper wire. You can take the veins from the electrical wire.
  • Solder POS-30 or POS-40. They are refractory (which is why you need a powerful soldering iron), but much stronger than POS-61 and other fusible ones.

Note: phosphoric acid of medium strength, highly toxic and / or caustic fumes does not exude. But still, when working with it, you need to take precautions - wear goggles and gloves (household latex will do).

The key procedures for assembling the frame on soldering are shown in fig.

The phased brazed steel frame is assembled as follows:

  • The ends of the linear blanks are kept for 3-4 minutes in acid (pos. 1), and then rinsed in water (pos. 2). Water needs at least 1 liter, and after 4-5 washes it must be changed.
  • If the soldering is in the middle or the part is bent, soak a clean white rag in acid and wrap the place of soldering with it. They hold for about half a minute, then rinse the rags in acid, wrap the place of soldering with it again, and so on until the total time the acid acts on the metal reaches the same 3-4 minutes. After acid treatment, the part in this case is washed under running water for 1-2 minutes.
  • Without touching the treated areas with bare fingers, the frame is completely assembled without soldering: the butt joints are tight, but not tight, i.e. with intervals between turns of 1.5-2 mm, wrapped with copper wire, pos. 3 and 4, and apply 2-3 drops of flux paste to each joint. Places of rations at the crosshairs of parts are wrapped with 2-3 turns copper wire crosswise and flux with 1-2 drops.
  • Semi-dry, i.e. without a hanging drop of solder, the rations are heated with a soldering iron tip until the flux spreads through all the cracks, pos. 5. It is not necessary to heat the flux to a boil and the appearance of vapors is not necessary. Also, the final result will be better if you heat the flux with a separate soldering iron with a dry bronze nickel-plated tip.
  • They collect a drop of solder, apply it to the place of soldering (pos. 6) and heat it until it flows everywhere, as before the flux. The excess solder hanging below is carefully removed with a soldering iron tip. It is impossible to apply unmelted solder in the form of a flexible wire, and refractory solders are produced mainly in rods.

Fabric or twine?

Propylene packaging twine and paper tubes have good lighting properties. If the lampshade is made of woven twine or newspaper tubes, it will give an even soft light, and complex cutting and sewing work will disappear. But in the frame for a wicker lampshade, firstly, there must be at least 10-12 ribs evenly spaced around the circumference.

Note: if the frame is of a simple shape, then only 3-4 ribs can be load-bearing (steel) in it. Let the rest be at least made of straw, they are glued to the upper and lower hoops.

Secondly, to get the rims at the top and bottom, respectively. the training is either doubled in height, with a gap of 2-3 cm, or strips of thin metal or hard plastic of the same width are attached to them. Headbands are needed for decorative reasons: a solid one is wrapped with twine or a tube, and if the headband is double, weaving can be started with a figure eight. All side surface braided like a basket.

Stained glass lampshade

Stained glass lampshades form the luminous flux mainly by refraction, so they are more suitable for the living room.

stained glass lampshades and plafonds

Fragments of stained glass are made of rhinestones, faceted or cabochons. A stained-glass lampshade is assembled on a heat-resistant mandrel (for example, a steel bucket). But compared to a stained-glass window for a window or door, here, since the connections of the elements are not continuous, but point-like, there are significant differences:

  1. Solder is used only durable refractory, the same as for the lampshade frame, as well as flux with borax.
  2. The framing of rhinestones before soldering is made only from a special copper foil - folia - 3-15 mm wide, depending on the width of the crystal rim.
  3. The protective film is removed from the foil immediately before applying it to the crystal; do not touch the outer (soldered) surface of the foil with bare hands!
  4. Also, you can not postpone the soldering of rhinestones wrapped in foil for tomorrow: copper will have time to oxidize, and the joints will turn out to be fragile.
  5. Upon completion of the soldering and thorough washing of the flux residues (with a rag with alcohol; then with distilled water), the soldering is copper-plated, applying a thick blue solution of copper sulfate with a brush.
  6. The remains of vitriol are washed off under running water. You can’t rub with a brush or even with cotton wool, because. the copper film on the solder is very thin.

A small surprise - about New Year's chandeliers and lampshades

New Year is coming soon, it's time to do it. And a Christmas chandelier. Chandelier? Yes. Remember how the festive mood falls if the overhead light is turned on in the room with the Christmas tree. For some, no, but New Year's lighting should correspond to the spirit of the holiday. Let's postpone lighting engineering until serious days, nothing from the festive light will happen to us in a few evenings. Cause, it's time, but it's also an hour of fun.

Usually a New Year's chandelier is a Christmas wreath attached to the chandelier in the living room with light bulbs woven into it. But indulge electrical work at a height in the pre-holiday turmoil, an experienced electrician would not need to. And what if the tree is in the nursery, where is the paper chandelier? Then you can at least buy inexpensive plastic blanks for Christmas balls, a garland with colorless light bulbs, stick them into balls, and hang such a pile (on the left in the figure) where it is more convenient.

If the design of the “everyday” chandelier is suitable, you can screw candle lamps into it and decorate it with the same balls or, for example, painted cones, right there. Or you can try a little and make a New Year's jasmine chandelier with your own hands, as in the video below. New Year is New Year whatever you say.

Video: do-it-yourself jasmine lampshade on the ceiling

If you have been wondering for a long time how to decorate your apartment or house at no significant cost means and time, we propose to transform the light sources, namely make a lampshade for floor lamp with your own hands. You probably know that the beautiful and unusual in the store is very expensive, but you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make something amazing. We will use the most common materials that you will definitely find on the farm. Any lampshade starts with a frame, if you have a ready-made one, you will only have to decorate it, if not, don't worry, we can easily make the base on our own.

1. We make a frame

Any of the elements that we will later use as decor must be attached to something. In order to quickly deal with this task we will need: thick wire, round nose pliers, cardboard. Any frame consists at least two rings connected by spacers. Decide on the desired shape and size of the future lampshade.

Consider the simplest type of frame - conical. The bottom ring will have a diameter of 30 cm, and the top one will have a diameter of 20 cm. To to know wire length, which needs to be cut off, you need to multiply the desired diameter by the number "pi" (3.14), that is, 30 * 3.14 \u003d 94.2 cm. The ends of the wire must be connected and bent with round-nose pliers. The height of the spacers will determine the height of the lampshade itself. For the reliability of the design, we recommend making at least 4 transverse fasteners, which will be attached to the rings at an equal distance. Roughly it should look like this:

If you are preparing a frame for a future fabric ceiling, then you need to wrap it with thick cardboard so that the fabric has something to attach to. To do this, do pattern. Wrap the frame with newspaper, mark the line where the newspaper will make a full turn, and leave a centimeter of margin for gluing, and a top and bottom line. Cut off the excess and transfer the resulting sketch to cardboard. You can fix it on the frame with a thermal gun with glue, do not forget to grease the joint well, remove excess glue with a piece of cloth. Your frame is ready, you can start decorating.

2. Paper or cardboard lampshade

Paper is the most simple And cheap stuff, which is easy to transform, has many color solutions and various densities. The cardboard-wrapped frame can already be used as a lampshade if you decorate it a little. It may not be complete, but holes V butterfly shape, flowers, circles, hearts, rhombuses and other shapes, which can then be hung to the edge of the ceiling using a thin fishing line. Using cardboard of different colors, you can create smooth transitions or a contrasting composition. Such a lamp will look great in, because when it emits light, small shadows in the form of carved figures will appear on the walls and ceiling.
You can decorate the cardboard frame with corrugated paper or molds For baking cupcakes. Open one mold wider, drip a little into the center and place a second, more closed mold inside. You can connect three or more shapes in this way. You will get air outlets that need to be placed as close to each other as possible. As a result, you will get very gentle and light plafond, from which a soft, muffled light will come. Paper figures glued to thin ribbons and fixed to the wire rings of the frame are also suitable as a material. For a more aesthetic look, use paper of different colors that will form a smooth transition from darker shades at the bottom to lighter ones at the top. Remember that paper is not a durable material, but it is easy to replace if you get bored with the look of the lamp and come up with something new.

3. Fabric lampshade

Depends on the desired light output. Thicker and darker fabrics will give a subdued, soft light. Important and chosen material color. Greens and blues will create cool lighting, while reds, yellows, and oranges will create warm lighting. Once the fabric has been selected, make a cutout. You can use the same piece of newspaper as in step 1. To make the fabric cover look neater, sew it on a typewriter, then turn it inside out and put it on the frame. You can simply carefully hem the edges of the pattern, iron it and glue it to the frame with glue. In both cases, be sure to leave stock on seams.
The cover does not have to be from a single piece, it can be multi-colored patches or a combination of a plain fabric with a colored one. Optionally, you can draw or embroider on fabric beautiful patterns or big flowers. A lampshade embroidered with your own hands will definitely surprise your guests. You can glue a beautiful fringe with beads along the edge or wrap it with ribbon and tie a small bow. Thus, you can hide minor flaws. In order for such an object to look more harmoniously in the room, coordinate its color with other objects. For example, with or pillows on the sofa.

4. Threads, yarn, twine

These materials will be useful to us for the manufacture lampshade-ball. Make it like this lampshade for DIY even those who are sure that needlework and crafts are not at all his element will be able to. As basics we will use balloon or an old rubber ball. We also need PVA glue, a deep bowl and a wide brush. The essence of the method consists in winding threads on inflated balloon. The color, thickness and number of threads used are purely individual. If you want to get a more textured and dense shade that will let in little light, use twine and wind until you cover almost the entire surface of the ball.

Before you start wrapping, grease the surface of the ball with a greasy hand cream or oil. You will thank yourself for this when you remove it from the withered lampshade. Pre-soak the selected threads in glue, adding a little water to it. Let them lie down and feed on this solution. This must be done so that the layers of wound threads not only adhere to the ball, but also hold together. Inflate a balloon of the desired size, draw marker on it border up and down. The upper bound will serve place for a cartridge With . There should be no threads in these places. Start winding from the top border. First, carefully lay out a few turns of thread at the level of the mark. You should have a small circle, then run the thread to the bottom border and do the same. If you do not want, you can do without the bottom hole. Now that you see your limits, you can wind in different directions, creating as many intersections as possible and pulling the thread a little.
Each layer lubricate with glue with a brush. When you reach the desired density, cut the thread and hide its edge under the circle of the upper border. Leave your creation in a warm place until completely dry. Just in no case put near. A stream of hot air will make the ball deflate faster than all the layers dry, and you will get a ceiling of any kind, but definitely not a round shape. After drying, pierce the ball. By the way, using threads of several colors, you can achieve very interesting combinations. A composition of several of these lampshades of different sizes will look very harmonious.

5. Braid, ribbons, lace

This is very romantic and the delicate look of the ceiling, which will look great in a young girl's room. In order to make it, a wire frame will be enough. Cover it with a fabric, on top of which glue beautiful lace, or place lace ribbons directly on the wire rings. Textile must choose either contrasting color or in tone with lace. This will look more effective. Lace may not be located around the entire perimeter, but only along the edge, it will be even more interesting. As an additional decoration, tulle and all kinds of ruffles and bows are suitable.
The most interesting thing about such lampshades is openwork shadows, which they will discard. Can be used as base material colorful ribbons or beautiful braid. To do this, fasten the edge of the first tape to the lower ring and stretch it to the upper one, make one turn around it and follow it back to the lower ring. Continue moving in this way until you fill all the free space. To avoid gaps, overlap the previous tape by at least 1/3 of its width. Gently glue the edge of the last tape on the inside, and to hide the flaws, turn around the upper and lower edges of the ceiling with a wider tape. Such a bright ceiling will resemble a rainbow, and glow in various colors.
If you have knitted lace doilies, and you do not know where to put them, you can do with them the same way as in paragraph 4. Saturate with glue, place on a ball and let dry. They will take the form of a sphere and will look completely different.

6. Plafond of beads and artificial flowers

A very beautiful creation requires diligence and perseverance. You will need many colors, beads or large beads, fishing line, needle and thread, and glue. It is most convenient to place flowers on a frame with cardboard. It used to be very fashionable to decorate the walls with bouquets of artificial flowers, so they are probably gathering dust somewhere in your boxes. And in just a few hours, or even earlier, you will look at them completely differently. Separate the buds and some petals from the stems. You can even remove the plastic holders, but then you need to grab the petals with thread so that they do not fall apart. So the parts will fit most tightly to the cardboard and stick easily. Arrange flowers and petals on the frame, filling the entire space. ok if there is several varieties colors. You can make beautiful flower arrangement on a lampshade made of plain fabric.
Imagine that you are making a bouquet, and you yourself will understand how best to proceed. Along the edge of the lampshade, you can add a fringe of several beads on a fishing line, or glue them in different places on the petals. You can glue a few butterflies or a dragonfly, in general, whatever you consider necessary. And large beads strung on a nylon thread can be used as the main material. As in the example with ribbons, it is necessary to fill the entire perimeter of the frame with beads, fixing the thread alternately on the upper and lower rings.

7. Knitted lampshade

Very unusual and the most comfortable look of our product. If you own the skills of knitting various patterns on your own, then this is just wonderful. Remember that knitting take a lot of time, so if you want to present such a thing as a gift, then start preparing in advance. There are many sets with the required number of threads and patterns, just choose the right size. If you did not have time to master this skill, do not worry. You will be helped old knitted sweaters and children's, which are already small for your child. Depending on the size and shape of the lampshade, even sweater sleeves can be used.
The top and bottom will have to be sheathed so that they do not bloom. Put the selected part on the lampshade, you can tie a ribbon on top and decorate decorative elements, but you can just sew. If wrap yarn in the color of the ceiling and cord power supply, which will be in sight, then a pretty nice and finished composition will come out. Fits tight knitting, made with knitting needles, and a more delicate version with gaps, made crochet. To fix this option, use glue. Apply it dotted on the surface of the wire rings and press. Do not neglect the fabric or cardboard frames. With their help, the shape of the ceiling will be better conveyed. Complete the composition with small knitted pompoms or large beads tied with a thread. Surely all your friends will be surprised to see a similar element of the interior.

8. Plafond from old hangers

Broken wooden hangers, or those that are long overdue for renewal can be found in every home. Finally, you can not just throw them away, but find a more worthy use. By the way, it doesn't have to be hangers. Old ones will do too broken slats. They are quite thin and have an arched shape. Before assembling such a lampshade, immediately think about its color. If you are a fan of everything natural, just go over the sandpaper on a wooden surface to remove minor defects, and then open it. If you want to make the composition multi-colored, use paints in the form of a spray. Now it's time to think about how we will arrange the elements on the frame. Most simple option looks like that:

The figure shows that there were removed metal hooks, and the hangers themselves are sawn in half and simply glued to the cartridge. You can do it this way, or you can work a little and get a more interesting result. We will need . Remove hooks, paint hangers and drill a hole in one edge. Insert the wire into the resulting hole, typing on it required amount hangers. Now fasten the edges of the wire, and in the space that forms after fastening, thread the cartridge with the wire in advance. Arrange the hangers evenly with their backs to each other and tighten in the middle with a metal tie. You will be surprised. Making a similar lampshade for a chandelier with your own hands is not difficult and does not take long.

9. Plastic bottles, spoons

There are definitely different colors in every home. So that no one even thinks that in front of him is a product made of this material, we suggest working hard and cut out bottles into small details in the form of leaves, flowers, butterflies or any other shapes. We used the leaf shape. Draw a few templates different sizes, circle their contours and start cutting. When you have finished cutting the required number of elements, give them a natural look. Using the blunt nose of small scissors, squeeze out the veins on each leaf. Pin on the frame of the part in two ways. Either glue a wire to each element and wind them to the frame at different levels, or glue them on a cardboard frame with glue. We advise you to give preference to a longer, but also more beautiful first way. So the ceiling will come out more translucent, and all the details will be noticeable due to placement at different heights.
If it's too much for you for a long time And tiresome just cut off the tops of the bottles, leaving 10 cm on top, cut them into thin ribbons, fold them outward and fix them with glue. Finished flowers glue to the frame.
There were no bottles, but there are a couple of sets plastic spoons after a picnic, they also have a use. Let's do pineapple lamp. For the frame, we need a plastic 5-liter bottle. Carefully cut off the bottom and degrease the walls. Now let's prepare the spoons. You need to separate the handle, leaving about 1 cm. When you cut all the spoons, start gluing them from the bottom row. Each subsequent row should overlap the previous one by about half a spoon. Try to paste over the entire frame in this way to the very neck, so that you get neat edges that will hide under the cartridge. Your lampshade is ready!

10. Don't Throw Away Tetra Packs

Yes, you read that right, we will create real miracles, practically, from waste. Not all types of packaging are suitable for us, but only those that have inside mirror surface. This type of ceiling will perfectly complement the interior, which focuses on various geometric shapes or is dominated by strict rectilinear forms. You will need a lot of tetrapacks for this venture, so you will have to save up the source material for some time. The packaging should be carefully cut, making one single piece. Now we cut it into strips measuring 130 × 21 mm, divide it into six equal parts and fold triangles from these tapes.
Now the most difficult part is ahead - the individual elements must somehow be combined into complex shapes. We cut the tapes for fastening with a size of 75 × 19 mm, fold them into four parts, turn them back and fasten two triangles with their help. Further, according to the same scheme, it is necessary to collect 108 hexagons and 12 pentagons. Don't be afraid, when you fill your hand, everything will turn out by itself. You can get by with ordinary glue, so things will go much easier and faster. When all the elements are ready, you can assemble a sphere or a regular cylindrical ceiling from them. In the latter case, pentagons are not needed. Just glue all the pieces together. In the case of the sphere, you will have to tinker. You can inflate the balloon and use it as a support when gluing the elements, and then burst it and take it out through the hole. Now you can be proud of the work done. You will definitely not see such a lampshade in any store, and when you turn on the lamp, the play of shadows will enchant your entire family.

11. Tubes from newspapers

It has become very popular lately weaving products from newspaper tubes. Skillful housewives make baskets for storing various items, sew covers on them, decorate, paint and even sell them via the Internet. We thought that in this way it is quite possible to make a beautiful lampshade for a chandelier that will look great in or. We don’t even need a frame, but we need a lot of newspapers.

If using pages glossy magazines, the tubes will come out much stronger. Need to cut a large number of paper strips, then twist the tubes. It's much easier to do using knitting knitting needle. The ends must be coated with PVA glue, and then allowed to dry well. Try to make it so length the tubes were at least 20 cm. We need about 100 pieces to make a medium-sized ceiling lamp. Take three tubes and cross them with each other, you get a six-pointed snowflake.
This is the beginning of our ceiling. To make it easier to work, put something heavy on top of the intersection so as not to move the workpiece. Place the next tube on top of one of the beams peeking out from under the load. The lower element must be wrapped over the attached one so that it lies on the adjacent vine. Repeat this step with all peeking twigs. You will be weaving in a spiral. When you have completely bypassed two circles, you need to expand diameter. To do this, instead of one twig, apply two, folded parallel to each other. Continue weaving until you reach the desired size. Cut off the excess ponytails with scissors, grab the edges with clothespins and treat the entire surface with glue.
When the frame is dry with spray paint, give he desired color and after drying, fix everything with varnish. On top you will have a cross that can be carefully cut off, thereby making room for the cartridge. Instead of weaving, you can fix the tubes with glue, forming a sphere or other geometric shape.

The branches must be washed well under hot water and dry, laying out on paper and providing access to oxygen. Dry sticks need a little ennoble. You can cut off with a knife extra, in your opinion, knots or thin parts. Open with spray paint or just varnish all the elements from all sides. The more clumsy the branches, the more interesting the ceiling will come out. We need a regular wire frame without cardboard. We will make multi-level plafonds in the form of a space system.To do this, we need cartridges with lamps and several models of different planets. The layout needs to be neat divide into two parts. Before that, draw a circle on top, the diameter of which matches the diameter of the cartridge. After that, you need to remove this section. In its place, place the cartridge with the lamp and glue the layout back. These actions must be done with all layouts. If you haven't found a planet, you can get by globes different sizes. Expert tip: As a basis for a lamp, you can take a frame from an old lamp. Making it yourself out of hard wire is also easy. And the lamps should be of an energy-saving type - so that the fabric does not catch fire.

How to make a beautiful lampshade with your own hands?

  • We take a finished frame, for example, with a ring diameter of 20 centimeters on top, thirty-six centimeters on the bottom, and twenty-eight centimeters high;
  • we select the fabric and cut it into strips, the width of each is four to five centimeters; about twenty-five bands in all;
  • the edges of the tapes must be even;
  • iron them well with an iron;
  • we wrap the upper ring with one edge of the tape and sew it on by hand;
  • now we lead it down and wrap the lower ring, and again the upper one;
  • when the strip ends, we fix its edge by sewing it to the fabric;
  • take a new tape and continue;
  • when the whole frame is wrapped, we sew for the edges of the "belt";
  • for this we take two strips of matter of a different shade and cut out two strips from it, each thirteen centimeters long and ten wide;
  • we iron the tapes, bending the longitudinal edges by 2.5 centimeters to the inside;
  • then fold the strip in half;
  • stick double-sided tape on the hoops of the frame;
  • we glue a strip of fabric on it, cutting its edge a little along the way so that the matter lies as evenly as possible;
  • fold the second edge of the ribbon inner surface cases and also glue with adhesive tape;
  • thus we decorate the top and bottom of the frame with “belts”.

You can make a edging from a crocheted ribbon or from a ruffle.
