To make a stand for our barbecue, you need to use metallic profile. There are several options for making legs.

  1. Let's weld on the sides of our body four vertical racks from a rigid profile, for example, square pipe. We will determine the height of the structure ourselves for ease of use. We weld square plates to the lower ends of the legs, which will not allow the structure to fall into the ground.
  2. Using metal strips, we will make two half rings. Their inner diameter must correspond to the outer diameter of the housing. We will weld the racks of our support to the edges of the half-rings and fasten each pair with crossbars made of the same material, or a corner. We will weld the resulting pairs in the upper and lower parts, using a rigid light profile. Get separate support for our barbecue.

Both of these designs have sufficient rigidity. They differ in that the first option is suitable for those cases when the brazier does not move anywhere, and the second will allow our barbecue maker to be mobile. Some craftsmen place an axle with wheels under one of the supports. This allows the brazier to be non-separable and mobile at the same time.

Chimney

Most gas cylinder braziers have a hole for the chimney in the place where the valve was located. In some makeshift designs the smoke exhaust pipe is welded to the top of the brazier. Such a brazier will have great traction, which is not always appropriate for a barbecue or smokehouse.

For the manufacture of the chimney, we use steel water pipe and an elbow with a diameter of 70 to 150 mm. First, we weld the outlet to the end part of our body. It is important that it is directed strictly upwards, perpendicular to the plane in which it will be installed. We weld the pipe to the outlet and check its verticality.

After making all the elements of the brazier, they must be painted. It is important that the paint for such a design has heat-resistant properties. The number of layers and the need to use primers must be clarified when buying paint.

A small but functional decoration of our brazier will be the manufacture of holes for skewers. For greater convenience, holes of 12-18 mm are made under the hinges of the lid. And in front of the case - opposite these holes - make rectangular or triangular cutouts. This allows you to evenly scroll the skewers and cook the meat with high quality.

A more attractive design of the brazier will be the use of forged elements in the support structure. The rack for the case can be borrowed from the old sewing machine. Smokehouse version

With a strong desire, the brazier from a gas cylinder can be converted into a smokehouse. In this case, the body of our design will be used as a smokehouse. And the firebox will need to be welded in front of the body. This will require a smaller tank. The axis of the firebox must match or be below the bottom of the existing base. To connect the firebox with the smokehouse, it will be necessary to cut the same holes, offset from the center. At the firebox - above the axis, and at the former base of the barbecue - below the axis. At the bottom of the body of the oil lamp, it will be necessary to make a valve to drain the fat.
