The mixture is first thoroughly mixed dry, then a little water is added. The consistency of the solution should be thick and resemble a viscous mass. Using a trowel, approximately a centimeter layer of the mixture is applied and leveled. The reinforcement is laid out on it. Next, the mixture is carefully laid out and compacted. The second board is nailed in such a way that there is a small hole left for filling with mortar. The last portions of the mixture should be very thick so as not to fall out of this gap.
Remove formwork It can be done in a couple of days, but the concrete will finally harden in 7 days. It is recommended to wait another week, and then you can proceed to the next stage of work. As mentioned above, the niche will be narrower than the beam by about 1.5 cm on each side. After marking, you can start creating it. To make it look more neat, you can use a grinder with a stone attachment. It can cut through vertical contours. And then carefully row by row you can knock down the layer brickwork. The direction of work execution is from top to bottom.
The resulting niche can be putty and paint, you can leave it as is if you plan to occupy it with furniture.
