Do-it-yourself pond at your dacha or plot. Photos of the best ideas. How to make a lake or pond from old tires at your dacha Pond from a large tire

Having even a small plot of land for use, you want it to bring pleasure. A small pond from car tire and how you can do it, you will learn by reading the information below. Such a pond will be a joy for everyone. There is not much work to do with him, and the pleasure is great. If in the garden or personal plot there is a corner of wildlife that attracts insects, birds, and people, it brings joy. In the review article about ponds you can learn about the types of such structures. In this article you will learn how to make such a beautiful pond at low cost.

For this you will need:

1. Worn tire from truck, wide profile. Or you can use a tire from a large tractor.

2. Thick polyethylene film, rubberized fabric for laying on the bottom and sides of the tire.

3. Gravel, sand and decorative stones.

4. Tools for work: shovel, grinder or electric jigsaw.

If the materials are prepared, I suggest starting work.

You can start digging a not deep hole, so that the edges of the tire are 10 centimeters above ground level. At the bottom of the pit, it is advisable to make a cushion of compacted sand 5-7 centimeters thick.

Next, the tire is laid and the upper part is cut out using a grinder or electric jigsaw. The tire must be covered on all sides with earth or sand so that there is no empty space between the tire and the walls of the pit.

Then a waterproof material is laid, larger in size than the diameter of the tire. The material must extend beyond the edges of the tire to anchor it to the ground.

After this, you need to cover the film or material with a layer of sand, then gravel, and then upper layer need to be laid with decorative stone.

I do not recommend making a permanent structure using cement mortar, since in the cold season the film or fabric will fail and it will be difficult to replace it. This is what happened to us; after winter, we poured water into the pond and saw that the rubberized fabric had started to leak. And I had to replace it.

New Year and other winter holidays are just around the corner, but you can still have time to buy something on a Chinese website to make your home feel festive and cozy. We have made for you a top selection of popular jewelry and other products that you just can’t do without these holidays. And it's not a joke. We are talking about old tires that can be found anywhere, even on the way to the country. According to recent studies, about 300 million of them are thrown away every year around the world! Therefore, if you decide to make an original pond on your site from discarded tires, you will not only get a fantastic place for relaxation, but also help save the environment.

There is no person who would not dream of having a dacha with a view of the sea or lake, but such happiness is not available to everyone, but everyone can build their own personal pond.

Let's figure out what is needed to create such a pond.

So, we need:

One or more tires (it is better to use tractor or KAMAZ tires);
waterproofing material, PVC material (ordinary film will quickly fail);
sand, gravel and pebbles;
shovel;
stones various shapes and size;
jigsaw or saw.

Once all the materials and tools have been collected, you can begin to create your piece of paradise. First decide on its location. It is better to place reservoirs in the shade of the terrace; it looks very beautiful and tempting when you drink tea or coffee on it early in the morning. If there is none, then you can do it under the treetops to avoid excessive heating of the water, in case you suddenly have a desire to put fish and frogs there.

Consider how you want to design the edges of your tiny lake. Will it rise or make it level with the ground. This nuance must be taken into account in order to determine the depth of the hole.
And another important issue is water supply and drainage. You must understand that an artificial pond requires ongoing care, otherwise after a while it will turn into a fetid swamp. For your own convenience, it is better to supply water through communications as expected than to use irrigation hoses, and also consider a drainage system so as not to drown in the mud near it.

Now you can start working:

We dig a fairly large and deep hole so that our tire can fit into it freely. The width of the gap between your structure and the ground should be at least 30 centimeters, this will make it possible to securely fasten the waterproofing material and fix the tires in the hole. We thoroughly level the bottom and compact the soil.

Using a jigsaw (this is the safest tool for such work), we very carefully and accurately cut off the top part of the tire. If you don’t have such a tool, you can use a metal saw, but it will be too time-consuming and tedious.

We lower the tire to the bottom of the hole and install it so that it is in the center and there are no distortions; for this it is better to use a level. We fill the very bottom with a layer of crushed stone or small pebbles, then with sand, creating a so-called pillow. Its thickness should completely cover the soil.

Cut out (with a margin of 50-60 cm) right size hydro insulating material, in our case, PVC sheet and carefully distribute it over the bottom and inner walls of the tire, without stretching, but simply repeat the shape of the tire. We carefully tuck the hanging edges of the canvas behind the outer walls of the tire and fix it with stones in several places.

We proceed to compaction, filling the gap remaining between the outer walls and the pit. For this it is better to use soil with sand. Each layer must be thoroughly filled with water so that all the cracks are filled. This move will give the structure stability and safety when filled with water or physical impact.

And who knows, maybe your baby or four-legged pet will decide to swim in this lake.

At the bottom of the already formed reservoir, pour a layer of sand, then gravel, and then beautiful river pebbles - this will create the illusion of a real bottom.

Let's supply water and make drainage. To do this, you will need to lay pipes and install a faucet. To prevent water from accumulating around the lake, make a nearby drainage hole, which you simply fill with gravel or expanded clay and there will never be dirt under your feet.

We form the edge of the created lake, lay out the stones as closely as possible to each other. If you have small children, it is better to do this with pebbles to avoid unnecessary injuries.

We fill our pond with water and begin to decorate it with plants or populate it with fish, newts and frogs. We also design the area around our unusual pond. Here your creative passion can create extraordinary miracles.

How to decorate your pond and the area around it in an original and tasteful way

Such original, and sometimes even fantastic, ponds can be created from discarded tires with just effort and creative thinking.

If you decide to throw away the old ones and not tell anyone necessary items, think carefully maybe they will still be useful for creating original decor in the design of a recreation area in the garden or in the courtyard at the dacha.

Do-it-yourself reservoirs from tires: create a pond, pool or fountain at your dacha

Old tires are not just outdated rubber.

This is a valuable high-quality recyclable material. Reliable, strong and durable.

You can get tires for free or very cheap.

Tires can be used to create many useful things.

From these you can create a small reservoir from a tire with your own hands for a summer cottage or garden, namely:

Let's figure out what is needed to create such reservoirs.

We are building a decorative pond

To create a small decorative pond, it will be enough passenger car tires.

Tools

In our work we will use:

  • two shovels (bayonet and shovel), as well as crushed stone and sand;
  • building level and a jigsaw;
  • waterproofing material to cover the bottom; the best option- special cover for swimming pools;
  • small boulders to beautifully decorate the banks of the pond;
  • plants for decorative ponds.

If you want to create not just a decorative pond, but a real swimming pool, you cannot do without large KAMAZ or BELAZ tires.

Operating procedure

First, remove the top part of the tires. Best tool for cutting – electric jigsaw . It should work at low speeds.

An alternative but less effective tool is hacksaw for metal. It will take an order of magnitude longer to remove the tire top.

Now create a recess for the pond:

  • First of all, we level the territory for the future reservoir;
  • Next, we dig a hole for the tires to create the base of the pond; We leave a small space for allowance along the entire circumference - the tires should not sit tightly in the recess;
  • put the tires on; Using a level, we check how horizontally they are all laid relative to one another.

Pond It's better not to build in the sun, otherwise the plants in it will wither and duckweed will cover the water.

In the shadow large trees It’s also not worth building a pond - will clog quickly twigs and leaves.

The ideal place for it is partial shade.

To prevent the pond from leaking, you will need special materials to cover the bottom of the pools. As a cheap and not particularly reliable alternative PVC film will do.

The shelter should completely cover the tires and extend approximately 0.5 meters beyond their edges.

We carefully straighten the bottom cover and secure it to prevent it from slipping. For this you need to press down the edges with boulders or fill it with crushed stone.

  • sprinkle the edges of the shelter with a small amount of sand;
  • We place boulders and pebbles around the edges of the depressions - we create “shores”.

It is best to lay out the stones like this: place large boulders below, smaller ones on top.

The “membrane” itself can also be slightly decorated with small rounded pebbles so that it does not catch the eye.

We do not use gravel or sand for decoration.. They make the water very cloudy.

And finally, we plant the plants and pour water. The pond is ready.

Fountain

A tire fountain in a dacha is a wonderful decorative element that will add coziness and surprise guests. Making it yourself is not at all difficult.

Tools

To make a fountain, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • large tire (from a truck or tractor);
  • shovel, cement mixture(dry finished form), as well as a container for diluting it;
  • a mixture of sand and gravel;
  • mastic for waterproofing and pump for pumping water;
  • reinforcement in the form of rods, thin iron sheet and metal posts;
  • scissors for cutting metal.

It’s good if you also have at hand building level- the product will come out more accurate and verified.

Procedure

We create a fountain like this:

  1. First we dig out the shallow funnel-shaped pit, whose size should be slightly wider than the diameter of the tire.
  2. Cover the bottom of the hole with a mixture of cushions sand and gravel.
  3. On the pillow pour cement– future basis for the foundation. Its height should be approximately 10-12 cm. We check how level the base is horizontally using a building level.
  4. When the base sets well and dries to the bottom of the hole, we begin to “place” the tire on it. But first, on one side, we slightly shorten its upper part.
  5. We will protect our giant tire from leaks with the help of rubber mastics for waterproofing. Pour its thick mass into the middle of the tire. We pour a little mastic - a small layer is enough for waterproofing.
  6. Using thin sheet iron around the circumference of the tire create formwork.
  7. Laying it down reinforcing rod and fill it with a mixture of cement.
  8. The edges and bottom of our fountain decorate all the same small, non-sharp boulders and pebbles.
  9. Well, in the middle of the fountain install the pump with a special nozzle so that it sprays water.

Wheel pool

As in the case of a fountain, a pool needs a large tire of some kind. freight transport or large special equipment.

Used tires from a Belaz dump truck, L-170 or T-150 tractors are perfect. A popular option is the K 700 tire.

Materials

To create a pool from a wheel, take following materials and tools:

  • half a bag of cement and sand;
  • a little laundry soap;
  • a hacksaw, as well as a well-sharpened knife;
  • paint and stones for decoration.

Process of creation

First we prepare the tire. one of her cut off the side with a sharp knife. We leave only the side. For a pool, such a short tire is quite enough. To make it easier to use a knife, lubricate the area on the tire where you are going to cut with laundry soap.

Now we are preparing the place where we will put the tire.

To start cleaning the area: we remove tree roots and level the soil with a rake.

Then digging a hole. There are several options here depending on what the future body of water looks like:

  1. If you need it to be partially buried, the depth and diameter should be approximately two-thirds the diameter and height of the shortened tire. When we have dug, we create a 15-centimeter crushed stone or sand cushion at the bottom of the hole so that it takes on the pressure of the tire and water. Level the pillow well.
  2. If you want a pool wasn't rooted in, we make the hole wider than the tire diameter by approximately one spade bayonet. We fill this depression with sand and compact it thoroughly.

Be sure to use cement (you will need 2-3 buckets of it) strengthen the loose circle of the recess.

Next, put the tire in it, and in the hole pour one and a half buckets of cement. The cementitious material must be carefully leveled in order to seal the future pool, remove all cracks and protect it from leaks.

The cement will dry and set well in 2-3 days.

Drain tap

You need to create a special tap to drain and replace water in the pool. We will need:

  • pipe with faucet and pipe corner;
  • washers (large diameter);
  • nut and locknut (the second nut that screws onto the bolt).

It is most convenient to install the drain valve on the side at the bottom of the tire:

  • We attach a corner to the pipe with the tap;
  • make a small hole at the bottom of the tire;
  • we cut into the pipe, connect it using a nut, a lock nut and a large diameter washer.

Decor

Now all that remains is to paint the pool and lay out the stone wall. In the photo there is also a decorative springboard made of stones. The pool is covered with a protective mesh.

This video describes the creation of a film pond with the participation of old tire from passenger car:

Conclusion

It only takes a little effort and patience to wisely recycle your tires and create beautiful, healthy ponds out of them. Do-it-yourself ponds and swimming pools for your dacha will delight the eye for many years to come.

If there is a desire and there are tires left, you don’t have to limit yourself to a body of water on the site: old tires will be useful for creating garden paths, children's swings and even a country fence.

A discovery that has been successfully inhabiting country gardens for many years is a decorative pond made from a tire with your own hands.

The ingenuity and ingenuity of the Russian people have already entered the fabric of historical and everyday jokes. Indeed, who else can find such unexpected use for unnecessary items, make a useful thing out of junk?

With the development of the automobile industry, the problem of used tires arose. At the same time, flowerbeds made of tires, fences and even children's attractions appeared in city courtyards. The technology for constructing a decorative pool for a summer house from an old tire was kept secret for a short time - now craftsmen are developing various modernization elements to complement this know-how.

What kind of tire can be used to make a summer cottage pond?

The choice of workpiece largely depends on the space that you can allocate on your site for this decorative “highlight”. There is not enough space - a tire from a car, more space - suitable:

  • KAMAZ tires;
  • rear wheels of the Belarus tractor;
  • tire from a 45-ton BELAZ.

What kind of pond can be built?

Of course, it will not be possible to raise fish in such a pond, but disembark water lilies, marsh grass and floating pondweed, and along the banks - Siberian iris, quite realistic.

You can use decorative flagstone to hide the rubber base, set up an alpine slide nearby - and no one will guess about the original basis of your decorative pond.

What will the craftsman need during the work?

Tool:

  • shovels (bayonet and shovel);
  • building level;
  • hacksaw or jigsaw.

Consumables:

  • sand;
  • crushed stone;
  • stones;
  • soft sealant;
  • plants for decoration.

How to move towards results with a suitable tire on hand?

How to make a decorative mini-pond from an old tire with your own hands at your dacha or house plot? Step-by-step instruction with photo:

    A tire that has been cleared of dirt must be prepared in a special way - cut off its top. This can be done with a sharp knife, jigsaw (at low speed) or a hacksaw.

Choosing a place under the water on the sunny side of the site, in the recreation area, away from big trees, so as not to bury your brainchild under their fallen leaves.

  • Determining the depth of the rubber base:
    • on the surface of a leveled area;
    • buried one third into the ground;
    • buried in the ground over the entire width of the treads.
  • Digging a hole in the shape of a tire, slightly larger than its outer diameter. We determine the depth based on the previous paragraph.
  • Level the bottom and cover it with sand(15 cm).

  • Place the tire on the compacted bottom of the hole.
  • As a soft sealant can also be used PVC film, but it is preferable to use a special covering material for swimming pools, which is easy to purchase in specialized stores. It is spread freely along the bottom of the pit and the edges are brought out (half a meter beyond the tire laid in it).

  • In order for the film membrane to be rationally distributed inside the tire, add water and carefully straighten the covering material. To fix it, you can use round-shaped stones, placing them at the bottom at opposite ends.
  • The edges of the film material that extend beyond the tire must be straightened and covered with sand to hold it in place, then decorate gravel, wild flagstone or turf laid on sprinkled soil.

    At this stage of work, the “newborn” pond can be revive with a fountain, for which a small pump or turbine for an aquarium with a nozzle is suitable. To operate this fountain you need an electrical connection. For safety reasons, you can put the wire in a plastic hose and bury it.

    Another video on how to make a pond with a fountain from a tire.

    An interesting addition would be garden lamp lighting on solar batteries. During the day it accumulates energy, and in the evening it gives soft light.

    1. If the bottom of a man-made reservoir is camouflaged with gravel or sand, the water will become cloudy.
    2. To prevent small animals living in the garden from accidentally dying in the pond, you can place a picturesque snag in it, along which they can get out of the water.

    Options for decorative solutions for a tire pond

    1. You can build from tires of different sizes or equal sizes two ponds, contacting protectors. In progress decorative design over the junction, according to the Russian tradition, to install a bridge from birch logs that have not been cleared of bark - a beam bridge. The bridge can be either plank or even with a railing. It can be purely decorative or part of a garden path.
    2. If you install one tire in a recess and the other on the surface of the site, you can get two ponds with overflow. An overflow can provide rainwater drainage from the roof or a homemade waterfall.

    You can do it by leading to the upper pond, through the thickness of decorative piles of stone, a thin hose with weak pressure water. The flow of water that will fall from the height of the stones will provide an overflow into the lower pool.

  • Pool from a small tire can even be used to decorate a balcony, loggia, terrace. Lateral surface In this case, the tires are covered (on a waterproof basis) with artificial stone.
  • A larger tire will allow you to create splash pool for children. To do this, you need to strengthen the tire as best as possible, preventing possible shifts, and reliably decorate the coastal area with tiles to ensure the safety of walking barefoot. In addition, you will need a pump to filter the water, or replace it periodically.

    Decorative pond made from tractor tires

    It’s not uncommon for us, with bated breath, to look at photos of decorative ponds on the Internet and dream of arranging something similar on our own property. But the process of creating a country pond at first glance is not so simple; it requires certain knowledge in the field of establishing basic water supply systems, gardening, as well as some construction skills.

    It’s no secret that having made a couple of mistakes while working, beauty enthusiasts become disappointed in the final product of their creativity and no longer get down to business, preferring to be content beautiful pictures in magazines about landscape design. But in vain. After all, creating a reservoir is a serious matter and, without experience, it is not always possible to get the desired result the first time.

    Therefore, it is necessary to carefully study the Internet on this issue and be prepared for failures - our eternal companions on the path to success. The main thing is to remember that experience is the best teacher, and not to be afraid to experiment.

    In the meantime, in order to get closer to what you want and arrange the decorative pond of your dreams on your site, we advise you to start small. Namely, by creating a small decorative pond from an old tractor tire. This will take much less time than usual, but we are sure that in the process you will acquire many useful skills for the future.

    Today we will not use any expensive materials and will try to save a little time, as well as money from the family budget.

    So, to create a decorative mini-reservoir on summer cottage you will need:

    1. Materials:
    — tractor tire (you can take a large tire from any large truck);
    — polyethylene film as an insulating material;
    - small pump;
    - stones for decoration;
    — small crushed stone for arranging the bottom of a reservoir or sea pebbles;
    — ornamental plants to taste (preferably low-growing ones).

    2. Tools:
    - jigsaw;
    - shovel;
    - car.

    Step 1: choosing a location

    The choice of location should be taken with full responsibility. If possible, it should be a more or less level area. It is not recommended to locate a pond in an area open to sunlight throughout the day, since the water will become very hot, and this is fraught with the development of pathogenic microorganisms and algae in it.

    Also pay attention to the presence of deciduous trees above the surface of the reservoir. All the leaves from them will end up in your pond in the fall, and you will have to clean it almost every day during the leaf fall period.

    In addition to the above conditions for choosing a place for a pond, it is also worth highlighting the absence of strong wind.

    Step 2: preparing the pit

    Dig and level a hole for the tractor tire so deep that half of the tire is above ground level. If you do not want to spoil the lawn, then before laying the soil, you will have to cover it with film or any other durable covering material.

    Although our pond will not be that large, the amount of soil that you will have to remove is measured in several wheelbarrows, or even several dozen wheelbarrows. To avoid such difficult work, we advise you to think about installing an alpine slide with ornamental plants. It can be made from excavated soil and the remains of stones, which for one reason or another were not in demand when decorating the reservoir itself. For example, we did just that and were extremely pleased with the result of our labors.

    Step 3: Tire Preparation and Insulation

    You need to cut off the top of the tire as shown in the photo. The easiest way to do this is with a jigsaw. Since the material is very thick and durable, cutting it manually with a knife, for example, will be very difficult.

    For decoration we used natural stone. Here you will have to play a game of Tetris, selecting and placing stones properly. As a result, it is necessary to achieve a complete and harmonious composition that smoothly turns into an alpine slide.

    Step 5: Alpine slide

    Creating an alpine slide is an exclusively creative and intuitive activity, and besides, it is a matter of taste, so any recommendations here are unnecessary.

    In any case, you have everything you need: fertile soil from the pit, leftover stones and your favorite plants. Therefore, it’s time to show a little imagination and complement your decorative pond with an alpine slide to match.

    The only nuance that is perhaps worth mentioning is the use of predominantly low-growing plants for landscaping. Considering small sizes reservoir, tall vegetation can almost completely hide it under its own mass, which will not always come in handy.

    Step 6: Pump Installation

    Place a small pump at the bottom of the pond, which is usually used in such cases to simulate a fountain. You can find it in any construction hypermarket.

    In principle, you can completely abandon the pump, but then it would not be superfluous to arrange a drainage of water from the reservoir. The fact is that with insufficient aeration, the water will quickly become cloudy and begin to emit bad smell. Therefore, from time to time you will have to drain it and fill it with a new one - fresh. It is for this reason that the solution using a pump remains the most rational of the others.

    IN as a last resort, the pump can be replaced with a compressor designed for aerating water in aquariums. Its task is to pump air, thereby saturating the water with oxygen. This perfect solution for those who want to protect their decorative pond from colonization by algae and the development of pathogenic microflora.

    The effect of a compressor is, of course, not the same as when using a pump. But the dynamics from the formed air bubbles on the water surface are guaranteed.

    We used a pump that we managed to find in the department for landscaping enthusiasts.

    During the cold winter period, the water from the reservoir must be drained. Under other circumstances, it would be nice to send the film laid as an insulating material for storage, but since it is securely fixed with stones, this, of course, is not so easy.

    For now, just enjoy this beautiful creation. own hands!

    Place for your mini-reservoir: how to find it

    It should be located where it will attract our attention, so you need to choose it very carefully. It is important to follow several rules that will help make your choice successful:

    1. Your pond should not be constantly in the sun. The best place for the location of the reservoir - partial shade. If this factor is neglected, the plants will wither and the water will bloom.
    2. A space open to the winds is also not suitable.
    3. A pond surrounded by trees will quickly fill with fallen leaves and wood dust. Such a pond will need to be cleaned frequently, which will require a lot of effort and time.

    It would be great if the pond was located in a place that could be seen from everywhere. Then the entire surrounding landscape will be well reflected in it. When such small bodies of water are located in a lowland, they look much more attractive. Therefore, when you are looking for a place for a pond, try to find such a natural depression in the area. Eat good way find such a site without spending much effort.

    The picture shows a place where your pond will not be under the constant rays of the sun, and also which is clearly visible from different sides

    Previously, you can simulate the location of the future pond by placing a piece polyethylene film in your favorite place. Now walk around it to see what the future mini-reservoir will presumably look like from different angles. If you liked it, then this is the right place.

    Where to find a suitable tire

    Before you look for the right tire, you need to think about what size pond you need and how deep it is. If there is not enough space at the dacha for a large structure, then just one ramp from the car will be enough. What if a piece of land large sizes, then to carry out this project you need larger tires, with a diameter even higher than a person’s height. For example:

    1. Ramps from a KamAZ vehicle;
    2. Tractor wheel "Belarus";
    3. Tires from BelAZ.

    What to do when there is no suitable tire? The one you need can be found at a service station, where there is a lot of rubber that will still have to be disposed of. You can look for used tires at any car depot or ask a neighbor who has a car. Sometimes used tires just lie on the side of the road.

    Large slopes like those from Gulliver, Kamaz, BelAZ are not easy to find. Often they are not suitable for our relatively small areas

    What will your pond look like?

    Would you like to have fish in your lake? In a small lake this is hardly possible. But if you have a pond made of a large tire, then you can have, for example, goldfish. But in another case, if the structure is not made for fish, then it can be decorated with various plants, pebbles, imitations of animals and other artificial decorations. In general, it all depends on your taste and imagination.

    So that no one guesses how your mini-pond appeared, you need to cover the rubber base well with a stone. You can also add lighting from lamps to the decoration. During the day they collect the energy of the sun, and at night they shine beautifully from the pond.

    Mini-pool for children (video)

    However, we should not forget that any mini-pond may be unsafe for small children who are left alone near the pond without adults.

    Decorating a pond has two sides. When decorating a pond, we think about the aesthetic appearance. But we must remember that children can also become connoisseurs of beauty, who are also attracted by the decor and various figures. Children should not stay near water without adult supervision

    And now step by step instructions

    The success of any undertaking depends on good preparation. Need to collect in advance necessary materials and tools - this will help you once again do not get distracted during your main work.

    Step one - collect inventory, prepare materials

    Equipment: shovel and large sapper shovel, construction level, electric jigsaw or hacksaw.

    Materials: tires, polyethylene or special waterproofing material for pools, sand, crushed stone, large stones for decorating the edges of the pool, plants for landscape design.

    When everything you need is collected, proceed to the second step.

    Step two - preparing the tire

    We first remove dirt from the tire. After this you need to cut off the top part of the slope.

    The top of the tire needs to be cut off

    Step three - digging a hole for the pond

    To start digging a hole, you need to level the surface that we have outlined for the reservoir. Also, before starting work, you need to set the depth of the future lake according to the rubber base, as well as the desired appearance.

    Dig a hole

    The rubber base of the reservoir can be:

    1. Lower to the depth of the entire tread.
    2. Bury halfway
    3. Leave most on the surface of your site.

    We're digging a hole. We make a shape that corresponds to the outer diameter of the tire, with small indentations around the entire circumference to freely lower it to the required depth.

    If you do not bury the tire completely in the ground, the remaining bead will protect your pond from sewage.

    The hole must be dug taking into account the required “cushion” of sand (about 15 cm). We pre-level the bottom so that the waterproofing gasket is not damaged. If necessary, the sand must be sifted to remove hard lumps and small pebbles in advance. It is important to compact the bottom thoroughly and level it horizontally.

    Stages of construction

    Step four - waterproofing

    You can use regular polyethylene, but keep in mind that it is short-lived. After short use, it deteriorates from exposure to sun, water and temperature changes. It is better to take waterproofing for the construction of stationary pools, which is much more practical. It is sold in specialized stores or in construction stores. Of course, when using special waterproofing, the cost of your pond will be higher, but the water from it will not leak into the soil. I don’t want it to be like the saying: “The miser pays twice.”

    Instead of film, it is better to take waterproofing material

    How much material is needed? As much as is needed so that the fabric covers the bottom of the tire, adheres to the walls, and so that there is another half meter of film behind the edges of the pool. To ensure that the waterproofing material fits tightly to the bottom and walls, it is best to fill the entire container with water when laying it. She'll put pressure on everything internal surfaces reservoir and give them correct form. Try to straighten the waterproofing material well. To keep it in the desired position, press it down along the edges with large rolled stones.

    Decorating a pond with stones

    Step five - install the walls and bring beauty to the pond

    The edges waterproofing material level and sprinkle with sand and screenings. Now the membrane is completely secured and will not move. Sand will be the main material for designing the future reservoir.

    The distribution of stones will depend on how you want to use your pond.

    For swimming and bathing

    In order for your project to be built for swimming, the tire must be quite large. Do not overload the banks of this structure with large stones, otherwise swimmers may be harmed. Great option it would be simple to form a platform along the walls.

    For decorative purposes

    In another case, if the pond is only for design purposes, then you will have to get creative with the distribution of stones and plants and decor, thereby emphasizing the look of your yard and delighting others. Now don't worry about the toothy stones, this will look very impressive.

    Decorative pond with a fountain

    It is advisable to lay stones in rows: large and rounded stones on the bottom, and small stones on top. Miniature pebbles smoothed by sea water will help to beautifully line the bottom of the mini-pond. Sand and gravel are not recommended for use as bottom decoration because the water becomes cloudy and unpleasant in appearance.

    Small or medium-sized animals live in every yard. For example: hedgehogs, moles or mice. If you don’t want to see them dead in your pond, then spare no effort and time to find a snag that will add originality to your pond, and, if you’re lucky, it will save the life of some small animal.

    Conclusion

    Decorating your yard or garden with such an original structure is very simple and does not require large financial expenditures. All you need is a little time, effort and imagination. The work itself will bring you satisfaction, and the result will bring joy to you and your loved ones.

    • decorative pond;
    • pool;
    • fountain.

    Let's figure out what is needed to create such reservoirs.

    To create a small decorative pond, it will be enough passenger car tires.

    Tools

    In our work we will use:

    • two shovels (bayonet and shovel), as well as crushed stone and sand;
    • construction level and jigsaw;
    • waterproofing material to cover the bottom; the best option is a special cover for swimming pools;
    • small boulders to beautifully decorate the banks of the pond;
    • plants for decorative ponds.

    If you want to create not just a decorative pond, but a real swimming pool, you cannot do without large KAMAZ or BELAZ tires.

    Operating procedure

    First, remove the top part of the tires. Best cutting tool - electric jigsaw. It should work at low speeds.

    An alternative but less effective tool is hacksaw for metal. It will take an order of magnitude longer to remove the tire top.

    Now create a recess for the pond:

    • First of all, we level the territory for the future reservoir;
    • Next, we dig a hole for the tires to create the base of the pond; We leave a small space for allowance along the entire circumference - the tires should not sit tightly in the recess;
    • put the tires on; Using a level, we check how horizontally they are all laid relative to one another.

    Pond It's better not to build in the sun, otherwise the plants in it will wither and duckweed will cover the water.

    In the shade of large trees It’s also not worth building a pond - will clog quickly twigs and leaves.

    • sprinkle the edges of the shelter with a small amount of sand;

    • large tire (from a truck or tractor);
    • a shovel, a cement mixture (in dry ready-made form), as well as a container for diluting it;
    • a mixture of sand and gravel;
    • mastic for waterproofing and pump for pumping water;
    • reinforcement in the form of rods, thin iron sheet and metal posts;

Pour its thick mass into the middle of the tire. pour a little - a small layer is enough for waterproofing.

    Materials

    To create a pool from a wheel, we take the following materials and tools:

    • half a bag of cement and sand;
    • a little laundry soap;
    • a hacksaw, as well as a well-sharpened knife;

    • pipe with faucet and pipe corner;
    • washers (large diameter);
    • nut and locknut (the second nut that screws onto the bolt).

    It is most convenient to install the drain valve on the side at the bottom of the tire:

    • We attach a corner to the pipe with the tap;
    • make a small hole at the bottom of the tire;
    • we cut into the pipe, connect it using a nut, a lock nut and a large diameter washer.

    Decor

    Now all that remains is to paint the pool and lay out the stone wall. In the photo there is also a decorative springboard made of stones. The pool is covered with a protective mesh.

    This video talks about creating a film pond using an old car tire:

    Conclusion

    It only takes a little effort and patience to wisely recycle your tires and create beautiful, healthy ponds out of them. Do-it-yourself ponds and swimming pools for your dacha will delight the eye for many years to come.

    If there is a desire and there are tires left, you don’t have to limit yourself to a body of water on the site: old tires will be useful for creating, and even.

    In contact with

    Often, owners of dachas or plots of land want to decorate their properties by making ponds with their own hands from tires. Such a pond, made of tires, undoubtedly becomes a good source of coolness and pleases the owner himself, as well as his guests, and is a decoration of the entire summer cottage. Just the sight of a pond and its water surface is enough for a person to relax and feel like he’s truly on vacation. However, some, having assessed that their own plot is not so big, do not move beyond just a dream. And in vain! This article will show you step by step how to make a pond in your dacha with your own hands from tires or tires.

    Place for your mini-reservoir: how to find it

    It should be located where it will attract our attention, so you need to choose it very carefully. It is important to follow several rules that will help make your choice successful:

    1. Your pond should not be constantly in the sun. The best place to locate a reservoir is partial shade.

There is a good way to find such a site without spending much effort.

    The picture shows a place where your pond will not be under the constant rays of the sun, and also which is clearly visible from different sides

    First, you can simulate the location of the future pond by placing a piece of plastic film in your favorite place.

And if the plot of land is large, then to implement this project you need larger tires, with a diameter even higher than a person’s height. For example:

    1. Ramps from a KamAZ vehicle;
    2. Tractor wheel "Belarus";

You need to collect the necessary materials and tools in advance - this will help you not to be distracted once again during the main work.

    3. Leave most of it on the surface of your site.

It is sold in specialized stores or construction stores.

It will press on all the internal surfaces of the reservoir and give them the correct shape. Try to straighten the waterproofing material well. To keep it in the desired position, press it down along the edges with large rolled stones.

    Step five - install the walls and bring beauty to the pond

    We level the edges of the waterproofing material and sprinkle with sand and screenings. Now the membrane is completely secured and will not move. Sand will be the main material for designing the future reservoir.

    Jacuzzi made from a tire (video)

    (ArticleToC: enabled=yes)

    Most owners of suburban areas would like to have their own artificial pond. The highlight of the landscape - a pond made of tires with your own hands would delight the owners and guests.

    After all, it is known that contemplation of the water surface puts you in a lyrical mood, helps you relax and receive a surge of inspiration.

    But, as a rule, due to lack of space, many people give up the dream of having a pond - a source of positive emotions and coolness. However, it is possible to make it a reality using ordinary car tires, which served faithfully to car drivers.

    In order for a decorative pond to attract attention, it is important to choose the right place for it.

    To do this, you must follow the basic rules:

    • most suitable place for a do-it-yourself tire pond there will be partial shade. If you build it in the sun, the plants will quickly wither and the pond will lose its attractiveness. And the water will begin to bloom. Windy places are not the best option, nor is building a pond under the canopy of trees. In the latter case, it will be clogged by constantly falling leaves. It will require frequent cleaning;
    • the pond should be visible from different vantage points. Then trees, clouds, a house, etc. will be reflected in its water;
    • It is advisable to place the pond in a depression, since a small body of water looks better when viewed from above.

    How to choose a tire

    Next, they move on to searching for a tire, the choice of size of which depends on the free space available for construction. If it is catastrophically low, you should choose a tire from a passenger car. If there is enough space to implement a large-scale project, the diameter of the tire can be impressive (more than human height). This could be a tire from KAMAZ or BELAZ, a Belarus tractor, etc.

    It is clear that not every garage has one like it. But it’s easy to find a tire of this size by contacting a tire repair shop or visiting car dealerships.

    Rubber base closes decorative tiles, so that it is impossible to guess how the reservoir works.

    Decorating a pond

    Fish will add exoticism to artificial reservoirs - even aquarium fish are suitable, as they feel quite comfortable in them.

    But, there are other ways to decorate artificial ponds made of tires with your own hands: planting Siberian iris along the banks of a reservoir, breeding water lilies, floating pondweed or swamp grass.

    You can use low-maintenance artificial jewelry. Artificial ducks and turtles basking on the shore look great on the surface of the pond.

    The ponds built nearby completely transform the alpine coaster. An additional effect at night is created by backlights powered by solar panels, surprising with a mysterious soft glow.

    Video: How to make a pond with your own hands

    Step-by-step instruction

    First of all, you should prepare tools and materials.

    You will need a few of them:

    • tire of the required size;
    • PVC film or other covering material;
    • crushed stone;
    • sand;
    • plants and decoration materials;
    • shovels - bayonet and shovel;
    • a hacksaw or jigsaw;
    • level.

    Then, they move on to the second stage - preparing the tire. Although it will have to be buried in the future, it is necessary to clean the tire from dirt and cut off the top part.

    Of course, you can use a sharp knife for this. But such pruning will require a lot of time and effort. It is better to do the work with a hacksaw or use an electric jigsaw, working with it at low speeds.

    Having prepared the tire, they begin to dig a pit, having previously leveled the site. The tire can be buried to any depth. The shape of the hole for the tire must correspond (with allowance) to the diameter of the tire.

    Having carefully leveled the bottom (check with a level), it needs to be covered with sand to a depth of 15 centimeters. The sand is thoroughly compacted, after which the rubber blank is lowered. It remains to check the horizontal position of the installed tire with a level.

    It's time to move on to the next stage - waterproofing;

    For it, it is more advisable to use a covering material designed specifically for reservoirs. It is sold in specialized retail outlets or where gardening supplies are sold.

    You need to buy it based on the fact that it should protrude beyond the tire walls by half a meter. In extreme cases, thick polyethylene will do. But it will last much less. Therefore, having given preference to it, you need to take into account that replacement will be required, which is impossible without dismantling the structure. Having distributed the selected material over the bottom of the dug hole, it is taken out beyond the edges of the chamber placed in the hole;

    Having carefully straightened the material and pressed the ends with sand, they proceed to decorating. Decorative stone is used for it.

    A do-it-yourself tire pond with overflows, made from several tires with varying degrees of depth, looks charming. Based on such overflows, beautiful waterfalls are created. For this purpose, a hose is connected to the upper tire, through which water is supplied under low pressure. It, overflowing the upper container, effectively flows into the container below, water, imitating a waterfall.
