We come home and shoot outerwear. So that she does not lie, we hang her on a hanger. So clothes do not interfere with us, do not create a mess in the apartment. You can always quickly find a jacket or coat by looking where all the clothes are hanging. If you have a small hallway and nowhere to put a closet, then a hanger will solve all problems. This attribute is different sizes. Therefore, you can pick up a hanger, despite the dimensions of the hallway. Their design is varied, but you have the opportunity to make a hanger according to your own sketch.

A hanger is a necessary thing if you often have guests. Guests can hang their things on it when entering your corridor. Hangers are usually located near front door so as not to walk in shoes throughout the hallway. Now their diversity is great. Finding a suitable hanger that will fit into the interior is easy. You can make it with your own hands according to an individual design.

In order for the hanger to fulfill its functions, it must be:

  • Convenient;
  • Easy;
  • Reliable.

You have decided to make a hanger with your own hands. Then you need to know in advance what it should be. You need to remember what the hallway walls are made of.

If the walls are made of drywall, you should think about a floor hanger. Then it does not have to be mounted on the walls. It is difficult to mount a hanger on drywall walls.

Mounting on such walls involves the use of special equipment, tools and dowels. Such a wall may not withstand the load from a large number of things, then the hanger will fall.

Floor models have several hooks. If you evenly hang things on it, it will not fall. Such an attribute has a small weight and can be moved to a new location if necessary.

You can make a hanger with your own hands from simple materials: wood, fiberboard or chipboard. Then decorate it beautifully - paint or apply a suitable pattern / ornament.

The most common hanger material is wood. It is easy to make a certain shape from it.

birch is not the best best material for making hangers. Wood has a fragile structure, therefore, screwing fasteners, there is a high probability of damaging the finished product.

Almost everyone in the house has the materials you will need. A set of tools and materials for work: a jigsaw, a hacksaw, sandpaper, hooks, a screwdriver, boards.

Take the boards right size. You process wood: you grind it. Then go over the entire surface with sandpaper to make it perfectly smooth.

Decorate to your liking. You can cover the boards with varnish or paint. Fasten the hooks to the board with a screwdriver.

For fastening finished product There are two types of wall mounting:

First: You can attach the hanger to the wall by drilling through it.

Second: make loops on the back of the hanger, and then hang it on nails.

The hanger is ready and can be used for its intended purpose.

We make original hangers in the hallway with our own hands

The entrance hall is the first room in the apartment. That's why guests turn to her Special attention. You can add an original hanger to the interior of the corridor and make it yourself. This will attract the attention of people who decide to come to visit you. And you will place all their things on the original hanger: clothes, umbrellas, bags and various accessories. Transform your hallway and make it beautiful - easy, fast and inexpensive.

Any person in the house will find unnecessary things that can be used to make a hanger. Boards, skis, boxes, old furniture, - all this can be used as the basis for the original hanger.

You should attach hooks to the skis, screw the entire structure to the wall - the hanger is ready for use.

Clothes hanger can be:

  • standing;
  • wall;
  • Consist of individual hooks.

For a classic hallway design, a wooden or metal hanger in discreet (natural) colors is suitable.

The original solution is a hanger consisting of individual hooks. They are hung on the wall itself. Hooks can have an interesting shape, color and design. For example, in the form of raindrops arranged in a chaotic manner. You can attach the hooks yourself without using additional tools.

What are hangers and hooks attached to?

Hangers and hooks have several types of attachment to the wall. You can attach them to the wall yourself without using special equipment or using it. Metal hooks are suitable for wooden hangers. They are fastened with additional fasteners - screws.

Hanger hooks can have the following type of fastening:

  • suction cups;
  • Special adhesive strip;
  • Magnets.

All three types of fastening, which are endowed with hooks, do not require much effort and time to install.

It is worth remembering that these types of fasteners may not withstand large clothes (fur coats, down jackets). These hooks are used to hang hats.

How to make a hanger in the hallway with your own hands (video)

Each apartment should have a hanger in the hallway. It is a practical attribute in the interior. Occupies less space than cabinets. can hold a large number of clothes. Each thing hangs on a certain hook, and you spend less time looking for it. Everything you need to take with you to the street - a bag, an umbrella, a hat, a scarf and a coat can be in one specific place near the front door. Therefore, it is worth thinking about purchasing or making such a wonderful device for your hallway.

Do-it-yourself hanger design in the hallway (photo examples)

The corridor of a cozy living space begins with an important attribute - hangers. Thanks to her, you can put things in order in the hallway. You can buy this irreplaceable piece of furniture, or you can make a floor hanger for clothes with your own hands. If you have elementary skills, a desire and a sketch of a finished attribute, then you should not stop, you need to make it yourself.

To make the hallway cozy, it is necessary that all the furniture in it be perfectly matched in color and style. This is a tricky business, and it must be approached with all responsibility.

The entrance hall in a standard apartment is very small, so it is not possible to put a closet or chest of drawers there. But a clothes hanger should be a must, it will be the only thing that attracts attention.

To make your hallway different from others, you need to make its main attribute with your own hands. This will not only increase the rating of the owner, but also create a unique atmosphere throughout the apartment.

There are many product models. They are used for clothing and for small accessories. There are wall and floor structures that "do their job" equally well. Any of the two options can be done independently, the main thing is to accurately imagine how it should look in finished form.

Advantages and disadvantages

If there is no space in a small corridor, then you can make a small, unusual hanger. It will serve both for clothes and for umbrellas or bags. It is very easy to make a wall-mounted clothes hanger with your own hands. From materials suitable:

  • tree;
  • plastic;
  • metal.

The advantage of the design is:

  • compactness;
  • functionality;
  • variety of forms.

This model is suitable for a small hallway. In addition to hooks, you can make shelves for storing hats, gloves and other accessories on it. You can put shoes under it, and you can hang bags and umbrellas on additional hooks on the side.

To make such an irreplaceable item, you can use various materials, combine them, thanks to your imagination.

Its disadvantage is the stationarity and the installation itself, during which it is necessary to drill holes in the wall. In case of incorrect or unstable installation, problems may arise in subsequent operation. And if during the rearrangement you want to move it to a new place, then you will need to dismantle the hanger and repair the wall.

The simplest model of such an accessory in the hallway is the plank on which hooks are nailed. The description turned out to be not colorful, but if you take an exclusive material for its manufacture, then the product will turn out to be exclusive.

If a wooden plank is taken for a product, then it can be processed by various methods: grinding, painting, etc. Hanger hooks can be made from real wooden hooks, metal hooks, door handles and other material. They can be all the same or different, which looks very unusual.

So that the child always undresses himself, he needs a funny hanger. In this case, you can look after children's hooks in the form of cartoon characters or favorite animals. Since children's things are not so heavy, any interesting plastic toys can serve as hooks for the product, for example: balls, cups, etc.

Small rubber animals can be attached to the bar with superglue or special rubber glue.

To make the hallway in the house look original, you can nail different hooks to the wall in a chaotic manner, where there will be hooks for the child at the bottom.

Old forks or spoons do not throw away, they can make excellent hooks for a hanger, if you slightly bend the end. If old useless skis take up space in the closet, then they can also be used as a hanger bar. It is worth refreshing them a little with paint, and nailing decorative elements, which will be the hooks. Seeing such beauty, made by yourself, your guests will envy you.

For those who do not know how to work with wood, but want to have an original product, there is a way out. In the store you need to buy a special decorative self-adhesive film that imitates a wall hanger and stick it on the wall. It remains only to choose the material for the hooks and attach them to the wall.

Find a lot of fresh ideas, as well as workshops on making wall construction, you can on the Internet.

The designs of floor products are different, so not all of them will be suitable for living quarters. Let's consider their options in more detail:

Advantages and disadvantages

This item is not only functional but also stylish. Having shown imagination, you can give the product the most unusual shapes. The advantage of the hanger is:

Mobility- an important feature of the design, which becomes more noticeable during repairs, when rearranging, and even with a complete change in the style of the room.

During installation floor accessory no need to make holes in the wall and spoil decorative coating. If the hanger is not needed in the summer, then you can simply move it to another place or hide it in the pantry.

Models of floor hangers differ in size, material and shape. A handmade product will fully match your tastes and the chosen style of the room.

Majority floor structures has one drawback - questionable stability. Before proceeding with its manufacture, it is necessary to provide for maximum safety and stability. TO reverse side support legs must be attached, the so-called sole, so that the material does not scratch or spoil the floor. The hanger should be free of pointed components that could damage clothing.

This model will be different from the wall, as its location will require a little space on the floor. Making the product yourself will be more difficult, but this will not stop a person who is trying to decorate the interior of his house with exclusive things.

From an old tree

The easiest option is to use old wood painted with paint. Of course, on its trunk there must be strong branches that will serve as hooks. A stand for such a hanger can be any heavy flat object, the shape of which does not matter.

If after the repair you have left wooden stairs, then they will make a great hanger. The length of the bar that will fasten the stairs is selected. It is nailed on top so that one ladder is on one side and the other is on the other. At the height of the first or second step, a shelf is made from the board from below. Its edges are also fixed with nails.

Depending on whether how many steps are there on the stairs, and what clothes will hang on this hanger, you can make another shelf. Things on such a model hang on hangers, which makes them always straightened, well-groomed. By the way, it can be painted in any color you like. The main advantage of this design is that it can accommodate a significant amount of clothing.

To make a floor lamp hanger at home, you can use round or shaped metal or plastic pipes. To get a stable product, 1.7 meters high, it is better to take 60 mm sewer pipes. The base is better to make a square. Detailed master class for the manufacture of such a design can be found on the Internet.

If in stock old floor lamp , then it can be used as the basis for the product. You need to remove the old lampshade and remove the wire. Come up with hooks, or use the wire frame of the lampshade. If the leg of the floor lamp requires painting, then you need to carry out preparatory work, and only after them - paint the product.

A handmade product with forged metal elements will look very beautiful and original. Design models can be found on the Internet, forged elements can be ordered from art forging masters. To assemble a hanger from the received parts, you will need welding machine. After connecting the parts into a single structure, you need to degrease it with a solvent, and then paint it.

Forged hangers always look stylish. They can complement the interior in a classic style. Openwork forged metal elements are perfectly combined with the attributes of various styles.

A floor hanger is a mandatory attribute of any hallway room, whether it is an apartment or Vacation home. Its price depends on the originality of the execution and the quality of the materials. The easiest option is to purchase such a design at the nearest furniture store. But there is another way out of this situation, in order not to overpay - to make floor hanger for clothes with their own hands.

A little theory from the course of physics

To achieve this goal, you will need a little knowledge of physics, as well as improvised materials and tools. Let's start with the first one. The main requirements for a floor hanger are stability and the absence of sharp elements so as not to damage the floor, wall or clothes.

Sustainability is achieved in several ways. If the floor hanger rests on one base, usually in the form of a cross or a circle, then it is necessary to make sure that the center of gravity is as low as possible. This can be done using heavier materials - massive wooden bars or metal.

If the space of the hallway of the room allows, then it is advisable to install the hanger on two, and even better - on three points of support. In the first case, wide bases will be required so that your attribute does not fall on its side, since it is problematic to evenly place clothes. Therefore, if possible, you need to choose a support on three points.

To prevent the base of the floor hanger from scratching the floor, you will need to use materials as a “sole” that will be softer than the floor covering.

Tools and materials

Required Tools

So, here is a list of tools that you will need to make a floor hanger:

  • cross (curly) screwdriver;
  • self-tapping screws of different lengths and thicknesses;
  • sandpaper;
  • drill;
  • drills (set);
  • hacksaw;
  • axe.

Set of self-tapping screws

You will also need to stock up on the following materials:

  • dried tree (cherry, sea buckthorn, etc.) or several of these, if the hanger is planned with several support points. You can buy ready-made processed blanks;
  • bars (more massive, at least 60 cm long, the optimal cut is 7x7 cm);
  • metal wire (for hooks) or ready-made decorative hooks;
  • wood glue;
  • a piece of rubber (or silicone) no more than 3 mm thick.

Wooden blocks for work

Instructions for making a floor hanger with a cross and hooks

First you need to free the trunk of the tree from the bark, as well as coarse knots. Of course, it may seem that with the bark the hanger will look much more natural, but over time it will crumble, and the garbage will spread throughout the living quarters. In addition, the cortex may contain small insects. Yes, and clothes will cling to bumps.

You can get rid of the bark with an ax or a massive knife. Once this task is completed, you will need to go through the rest of the sandpaper several times - first coarse, then fine. After sanding, the surface will become smooth, and the likelihood of catching clothing will be minimized.

The next task is to make the base. As in construction, only that structure will be stable and durable, which is given integrity. Therefore, the base and tripod of the hanger must be one.

The base and tripod of the hanger must be one piece

You should not first make a cross, and then attach the body of the hanger to it from above - such a design will loosen very quickly and may fall out of the base under the weight of the clothes.

Here's a rule to follow - the bottom edge of the tripod should be flush (that is, on the same plane) with the sole of the base.

We proceed to measure the diameter of the barrel. We need it in order to select a bar of the appropriate width. If the bars are wider, then you need to saw off with a hacksaw along to the desired size.

The standard height of the hanger is in the range of 180-200 cm. For them, you need to make a cross with overhangs from 25 to 35 cm. Therefore, we need 2 bars 60 cm long, which we will cut exactly in the middle to get 4 blanks of 30 cm each.

Now the difficulties begin. Even if you contrive and attach these 4 bars to a round trunk, the structure will be unstable, and after the first fall, due to unevenly hung clothes, it will simply fall apart.

Therefore, we will proceed as follows: put the trunk on the floor and attach the resulting blanks to it from four sides. It will not work to connect them in this form, so we will make inserts in the form of triangular wooden elements on the bars exactly in the part where the body of the hanger is located. Such "triangles" are attached to the bars with self-tapping screws, and also to the tree trunk - in exactly the same way.

In order to strengthen the structure, in those places where the “triangles” will be attached to the bars and to the trunk, you must first drill holes with a drill with a diameter of 2-3 mm. less than the diameter of the fastener.

If you just screw the screws into the tree, then there is a possibility of cracks that weaken the structure.

After this procedure is completed, it is required to fill the resulting drilled spaces with glue, and only after that start screwing in the screws.

The resulting design of the floor hanger cannot be ideal in terms of stability - it often rolls over from one cross bar to another. To correct this shortcoming, you need to use pieces of rubber that should be glued to the bottom.

In order for the rubber to adhere perfectly to the surface of the wood, it is necessary to go over the surface of the wood with sandpaper and make several scratches in different directions.

The frame is ready, now you need to give the hanger functionality - add hooks for outerwear, which can be remote, that is, located at some distance from the trunk. There is one rule here: the center of gravity of the hanging clothes should not go beyond the cross, otherwise the structure will be unstable and fall.

It does not matter which hooks are used - homemade or decorative, you cannot attach them directly to the trunk, since the floor hanger will quickly become unusable. You can proceed as follows: cut out a square from the existing bars, the length of the sides of which will be several larger diameter trunk used as the body of the hanger. Before attaching the "square" to the top, you must first attach the hooks to it.

Decorative ones are more suitable, since it is very difficult to achieve a beautiful shape from wire. Such hooks are attached to the tree, usually with one or two self-tapping screws.

If you have time and some skills in working with wood, then with the help of a chisel you can cut recesses in the squares attached to the top of the floor hanger in order to subsequently “drown” the base of the hook in them. This is a more aesthetic solution than just mounting on self-tapping screws.

After all the hooks are attached, you need a square wooden element connect to the top of the stem. This can be done with one or two screws using the technology described above.

The final stage of work is to give aesthetics to the resulting floor hanger. First of all, you need to close the lower part - the cross with all the fasteners. For this, it is allowed to use fabric, rattan, wooden or plastic slats. The hanger itself can be painted with a protective layer of paint or varnish - both natural color and any other, depending on the color scheme of the room. The layer must be applied at least 2 times.

Making a suit hanger

The scheme of the floor hanger for a suit

The floor hanger for men's suits has a slightly different design and is made of wooden bars.

You can do it according to the following algorithm:

  • measure and cut blanks according to a pre-made project;
  • carefully process and polish them;
  • make mounting holes in the right places;
  • assemble the hanger according to the diagram below;
  • perform finishing;
  • screw roller wheels to the base or glue rubber gaskets.

Decorating a space creates a cozier and more organized living space. After the front door, the hallway can be called the first part of the apartment that a person sees when he returns home. This is the interior that presents the whole house. But all too often the hallway becomes a "highway" where coats and shoes are thrown off at random. But how beautiful it is when this room, with love, is decorated with your own hands!

People have a lot of excuses for not equipping entrance group. For example, they say that the room is small or narrow. But in this case, it is all the more necessary to develop furniture according to individual sizes, and it is not necessary to order its production to specialists. Even women can easily handle the creation of some designs! There are many unique ways make furniture by hand in a way that saves time and money, it's just that most people don't think about it often.

Throne or tree? Choose!

incredible tree

By and large, the apartment should begin with a hanger, this item can be exclusive, made according to an individual design. As you know, hangers can look different. There are many designs in different materials, different colors, styles and sizes. Some of them hide behind a mirror in the closet, others hang on the wall, and still others stand on the floor. Floor hangers compare favorably with the fact that they can be easily moved, they take up very little space.

For modern finishes interiors are ideal floor hangers in the form of birch. And you can make them from real thick branches. The new rack will bring unique accents and romantic feelings to the hall or hallway, decorate children's rooms in a playful, interesting style, become a kind of divine island of nature.

Of course, furniture in the form of wood will be loved in the house. Our ancestors deified trees, which occupied not the last place in rituals. Today there are oaks that have lived for more than one century, they are also considered special.

Floor hanger rack, repeating natural forms, looks impressive, its designs are ideal for small spaces. Elegant natural shapes can be cut from plywood.

Plywood is made up of three or more thin layers of wood glued together. Each layer is generally oriented, running at right angles to the adjacent layer to reduce shrinkage and improve the strength of the finished product. Pieces of plywood can be shaped into complex curves for use in producing beautiful natural designs:

  • Before purchasing materials, a sketch is drawn. After that, the dimensions are calculated.
  • Mastery is in the details - you need to saw, laying out sheets of plywood on a completely flat plane.
  • To protect the material from chipping, the line along which the sheets will be cut is coated with PVA glue.
  • The finished product is varnished or painted.

And even the king will envy!

The design created by one's own hands in the form of a chair is also interesting. In its production, you can use boards. original furniture self made looks like a royal throne, in combination with any type of decoration, it will become not only a functional addition to the house, but also a central element of the hallway space.

The design of such a chair is very simple for any person involved in carpentry. The most interesting, useful detail of this model is a square mirror, which is indispensable for any room at the entrance, it makes the furniture richer. The robust model has 5 hooks, children can stand on the chair to take off or hang up their coat by themselves. The main condition is stability, it must be checked after manufacture.

Three brilliant ideas

Alicia Prusakovskaya's idea

Knowing that the most important detail tempting beautiful design hallway or hall - a convenient rack for storing clothes with a bench or a unique hanger, the designer from Krakow has developed floor furniture with a place to store shoes, on which you can sit. Designed for flexible use in the hallway, the freestanding item resembles a white box containing a collection of thin wooden skis. Probably, this is what skis sticking out of the snow would look like if the athletes turned over, making a somersault, and fell into a snowdrift. Curved hooks at the ends pine boards located at different heights to hang coats and accessories.

Ergonomic shapes, roundings and curves in the design emphasize the beauty and nobility of the model. The shoe storage area, which acts as a seat, is made from four sections of white lacquered medium density fibreboard (MDF) held together with pine pieces. Elements with hooks are formed from pine boards.

When working, traditional methods of wood processing were used, for example, hooks for clothes were cut by hand, using a chisel. “My goal was to design an object that would be useful and visually appealing,” says the designer. The holes intended for the installation of pine boards are decorated with wood hoops.

The idea of German designers

Kristin Herold and Katarina Ganz have designed floor furniture with unique hooks, reminiscent of birds resting on power lines. Such a model will incredibly decorate any hallway. Clothes hooks are picturesquely located on a metal rail, and are directed upwards at an angle of 45 degrees. The legs of the furniture are made of birch, with a metal pipe of round cross-section neatly inserted between them, which looks very elegant, it really resembles an electric wire.

Removable coat hooks allow you to hang outerwear on both sides, similar forms can also be used to store hats, umbrellas and bags.

By the same principle, but using different materials and decor, you can develop many unique models. For example, make a wooden structure of 6 boards and 3 wooden sticks, round in diameter. Such furniture, 70 cm high, is convenient to assemble and disassemble, it will look good in a children's room.

Idea from Japan

Japanese designer Yasu Mifune created a structure from a steel rod, curved back and forth and attached to a circular base. As a result, there were three horizontal stripes. The stand is compact, it does not take up space at all. Flat plywood hangers are neatly placed on the base of the furniture when not in use and are held in place with a short rod.

“Sometimes there are situations where clothing furniture is not really needed, for example, if you only need to hang a scarf,” says the designer. This floor hanger is ideal for summer clothes and decorates the room.

Out of nothing - something

Do not rush to throw away the old door

Do not rush to take the old, but strong door to the trash, if you had to change it to modern model. After all, with your own hands you can make a chic hanger for country house Provence style!

For the main structure, you will need ordinary boxes, 5-6 beautiful and reliable coat hooks, 2 pieces of thick plywood and 2 decorative metal brackets. After assembly, the hanger should be painted using crackle techniques. Drawers that will play the role of a shelf for shoes and at the same time serve as a bench (you can sit on it to put on shoes) should be decorated decorative pillows.

How to make furniture in half an hour

In the production of stylish, comfortable clothing furniture with your own hands, you can use fittings for water pipes, connecting them with parts made of wood or pipes directly. Many structures are created according to several schemes.

The copper details of handmade furniture look both vintage and very modern - it's still a beautiful home design trend. Details made of metal, valued for centuries, decorate the space, make it elegant and stylish. Using copper plumbing accessories and round wood sticks bought from a hardware store, you can create a chic hanger in just half an hour.

  • Purchase materials. The inner diameter of the copper adapters must match the diameter wooden sticks.
  • Cut sticks. 2 pieces - 1300 mm, 2 pieces - 800 mm, 4 pieces - 200 mm, 6 pieces - 100 mm.
  • Connect sticks with copper parts.
  • If the design turned out to be stable, then the parts are fastened with glue.
  • Using universal drawings, racks can be designed in any size.

When do-it-yourself furniture is made from metal pipes, you need to consider that it will be quite heavy. To make it easy to move, it is worth using the wheels.

Applying wooden box, the design is easy to supplement with a place for shoes.

One of the most interesting ideas for creating furniture from unusual materials is the use of pallets in its production. Pallets are unusual in the sense that absolutely any furniture can be made from them. If the apartment is overloaded with things, and the person is facing certain problems, then the production of storage spaces from pallets will be of great help. Pallets turn an ordinary apartment into a trendy and stylish space, which is decorated with unusual patterns, including those designed to hang bags, hats, scarves and more.

Hooks for clothes will give a special character to such furniture; they, just like buttons matched to clothes, form the whole style.

This project can be DIY with pretty simple tools:

  • pencil
  • pallets
  • hand saw
  • nails
  • hammer
  • measuring tape
  • nail puller
  • sandpaper
  • level

Brushes, paints and varnishes will come in handy in order to make your own clothes hanger even more unusual. Adding an interesting color to your entryway or foyer is a great idea. After the furniture is made, its surface is prepared and sanded, paints can be used in any shades, according to individual taste and the rest of the decor. You can also use the remnants of paints that painted the walls of the house. Enamel is applied in several layers.

Do-it-yourself clothes hanger is a fruitful idea. Theater begins with a hanger; house too. In the sense of spirit, atmosphere, "energy". The reason is simple: the first thing a guest looks for is where to hang outerwear. And if the hanger is clearly home-made, but comfortable, stable and durable, a positive reputation for the owner is provided.

The second argument for making a hanger with your own hands is prosaic: the prices of the purchased ones are clearly disproportionate to production costs. A homemade clothes hanger will save you quite a visible amount in the budget. It is not difficult to make it, it will take a little material, and waste from repairs will also go into business. The tool in most cases can be dispensed with by hand.

These factors are especially felt if a floor hanger fits in the hallway. In addition, it can also serve as a dryer if its design is frame, see below, because. On such hangers, it is convenient to hang clothes on hangers, and the hanger itself moves away from the wall. If in the house it was possible to shield the dressing room, then the floor hanger best option. The cost of floor hangers is significantly higher than wall hangers, but there is nothing in the design that would not allow you to make a floor hanger yourself.

On the floor or on the wall?

It has already been said enough to make a choice, as long as there is enough floor space. However, let's finally compare how attractive a hanger is in a floor-type hallway:

  • Clothes hung on hangers dry faster, do not stretch; the collar and lining are not torn.
  • On a hanger approx. 1.5 m fits a seasonal set of clothes for the whole family, which will save on the closet and the area under it.
  • A shoe rack is naturally attached to the floor hanger, which simplifies the work of equipping the hallway and saves its area.
  • With correctly calculated dimensions of the hanger, neither the wall from the clothes nor the clothes against the wall are damaged.
  • The mobility of the hanger does not interfere with the rearrangement of furniture; after moving the hanger, it is not necessary to seal the mounting holes in the wall.

However, floor hangers are different, and not all of them are most suitable for living quarters. For example, for orders (from the old Russian “order” - office, office, office) floor lamp hangers, pos. 1-4 in the figure, it is inconvenient to hang clothes on hangers. Due to the small area of support, they are rolled, especially loaded with wet winter clothes. To emphasize the functional inferiority of the product, such hangers are called hangers, and they often go on sale under this name.

Types of floor hangers

The best option is the same theatrical wardrobe frame hanger, pos. 5. In the version for residential premises, it is supplemented with shelves for hats, shoes and gloves / scarves; perhaps an additional tie rod, pos. 6. Disadvantage - the "legs" of the hanger get underfoot. In an attempt to get rid of it, hangers were invented - frames on a stand, pos. 7, but generally speaking, they fell even more than the orderly ones hung up. Another option is a hanger-frame without legs, leaning against the wall; we will remember this one. There are also folding frame hangers, but in everyday life they have almost no advantages.

If in the hallway with a place is generally tight, then a wall hanger is still more suitable. Simple wall hanger-sconce, pos. 1 in Fig., is as compact as possible, but not at all more convenient than the order, except that it does not fall from the next jacket to one side. Hanger-shelf, pos. 2 won't fall off if it's attached properly, and neither will hats/caps, but the wall and clothes rub against each other.

Types of wall hangers

Wall hanger panel, pos. 3, saves the wall, but not the clothes. Most of all, leather things wear out on such hangers. Tanners jokingly advise: how, they say, to distinguish a sheepskin coat from full grain leather from it from reverse? The first, with everyday use of a hanger-panel, loses its appearance in 2 winters, and the second - in half a winter. Given the cost of genuine leather products, this is no good. Therefore, hangers-panels on the wall for expensive things are often supplied with soft upholstery, pos. 4. As for wall hangers with an openwork shield, pos. 5, then in this case its meaning is only decorative: it does not protect either things or walls.

Floor hangers with chest and bench

There are also floor hangers-panels with a stand, for example. in the form of a cabinet, chest or chest, pos. 1 in fig. on right. This is not the best option: someone will once put something on the lid, and with the clothes removed from the hanger it will be whisked to the floor. Much more practical are floor hangers-panels with a bench, pos. 2. The flower under the seat is a matter of taste of the owners, if only he survives there, but the shoe box or chest for accessories to care for her in the banquette drawer is the place.

Clothes and keys

Regarding hangers-panels, the amateur master has an additional opportunity, namely: to provide such a sidewall on the edge farthest from the front door. Perhaps not reaching the bottom, with a bevel or notch. The factory ones do not do this: the hanger should be designed for clothes sticking out from the side. One sidewall almost does not interfere with this, but it is not known how the hanger will stand with the buyer, and it is unprofitable to make right and left hangers.

What gives such an addition? Place for the housekeeper, invisible from the threshold. In the same place, on the side, there can be a dressing table or cabinet, but the main thing is that the master's keys will not catch the eye of a casual visitor, and they are in sight, according to criminologists, a serious factor in spontaneous illegal actions, without which, i.e. temptation, the visit of a not entirely trustworthy subject would have done well both for the owners and for him. You can, of course, make a key holder luxuriously designed and with a secret lock, but this is a lot of work and material costs. And so - a simple plank with hooks will do. Or just hooks screwed to the sidewall outside of the stowage section.

We will assume that a suitable design has already been selected, and let's take a look at how to make a hanger. Preferably wooden: the material is noble, natural, easy to process. Let's not forget other versions; more convenient in some cases. Let's start with floor hangers as the most functional.

floor standing

Lovers of crafting from the heart, having milling tool on wood, they can immediately take up the floor frame hanger with legs. Made from fine-grained wood hardwood(oak, beech, hornbeam, walnut, birch), it looks chic, and it will take only 360 mm of the floor in width.

A suit hanger works well as a prototype, you just need to make it higher and move the trouser bar up so that you can hang coat hangers on it. Instead of a tie rod and handles, a shelf can be installed, and a shoe shelf is mounted below. Drawings of such a hanger are shown in Fig.:

Drawings of a wooden floor hanger

With the indicated other dimensions, the structural and overall width (dimensions 430 and 460 respectively) can be increased by 1-1.4 m without compromising strength and stability, i.e. the hanger will be already a family width up to more than 1.8 m.

About hooks and trempels

Bags, umbrellas, scarves are also left on the hanger, and a bachelor can also have a skirt with lingerie there. Sometimes life is life. It is also more convenient to hang clothes on hooks for a short time. Therefore, in frame hangers, sometimes runner hooks are put on the main bar (the former trouser bar in Fig; height 1360). They or hangers, depending on the need, are shifted to the side in a crowd. But the hook-runners under the fingers turn out at the most inopportune moment. In a hanger of this design and similar ones, the problem is solved simply: the main bar is for hangers, and fixed hooks are attached to the top board.

Pipes and profiles

Original hangers are obtained from round or shaped metal or plastic pipes, see fig. However, despite all the design tricks, their organic vices do not go anywhere. The same as the orderly hung. But high labor intensity is added: in order to hide the connecting nodes, you have to strain both your arms and your head.

Pipe hangers

It is better to make a square base of a floor lamp hanger from pipes. With the same withdrawn floor area, the distance between the support points increases by 1.4 times. If the base is still heavier, then the hanger up to 1.7 m high turns into a full-fledged hanger. 60 mm sewer pipes are most suitable.

A short master class in pictures on making the base of a floor hanger from pipes is shown on the next. rice. Pipe sections - 150-300 mm each, depending on how much floor can be given to the hanger. In addition to them, you will need 3 straight tees, 4 right angles and 4 plugs. Connections - on glue for propylene or PVC, depending on the pipe material. Weighting - sand or small gravel.

Making the base of the hanger from pipes

One of the comments on original design begins with a question like this: “Why couldn’t you just solder?”. Judging by the fact that later in the same comment, 90 angles with a clear claim to professionalism are called bends (plumbing bends are oblique tees), another 2-3 and the same number of exclamation points suggest themselves to the question mark.

Nevertheless, the author of the product, albeit not knowing plumbing terminology, solved the problem in a completely engineering way. The hanger does not need tight joints, and a tube of glue will cost much cheaper than renting a soldering iron for propylene. Which, moreover, you need to learn how to use, spoiling a fraction of the material. For greater reliability, you can reinforce the connections with phosphated (black) self-tapping screws: on black, their heads are not visible, and the strength of the hanger will not decrease.

Note: the pommel in the original design is also made of pipes, but, frankly, its design is not the same ... It would be better to drill inclined holes in the rack and insert some strong pins into them using the same glue; wooden, metal.

simple frame

Scheme of a simple floor-wall pipe hanger

A frame hanger made of pipes can be without legs, just leaning against the wall with an inclination. However, its slope must be negative. There must be at least 350 mm between the wall and the clothes on the hangers. If the frame slope is positive ( top bar adjacent to the wall), then the lower one will “leave” from the plinth by 500-600 mm. In a small hallway, this is a serious inconvenience. In addition, they will either cling to the lower crossbar with their feet and it will beat the floor, or it will have to be attached to the floor, and this is really bad: any violation of the flooring is fraught with complex and expensive emergency repairs. Have you seen furniture for sale that needs to be screwed to the floor? Is that a special purpose, for example. rack. And then, they also try to get by with fastenings to the walls and, in extreme cases, to the ceiling.

A diagram of a frame hanger with a negative slope of pipes is shown in fig. The materials are the same: line segments sewer pipes 60 mm, 90 angles and straight tees. Withdrawn usable floor area - zero. At the bottom there can be a shoe rack or a banquette. For fastening to the wall, in order not to drill a lot and do without expensive collet anchors, it is better to take a couple more tees: with their help, the holding beams - extensions are attached to the wall with a pair of self-tapping screws in dowels each.

wall

Simple hangers-panels do not require special analysis. How to make a wooden wall hanger, see for example. video.

Here we recall, firstly, the sconce hanger. Foldable, it can be very useful if a large company has gathered or the kids have returned from the yard at least squeeze it.

An example of such a structure is shown on the right in Fig. However, its creators were clearly guided by the principle: “Consumption is the basis of turnover Money". The outer (folded) side of the flap bar is inactive and a locking mechanism is needed. And a separate hanger for every day.

Compact folding wall hanger

Meanwhile, folding wall hangers have been known since ancient Egypt. In the local climate, outerwear was worn occasionally, in bad weather, but after wearing it, it was necessary to dry it. There was no point in keeping a separate hanger for this in the regions where it rains and cold once a year, not every year, so they came up with the one on the right in Fig.

When folded, the compact wall hanger of the Egyptians was fixed with a cypress stick. Now, of course, you can put a ball retainer or just a hook. The main thing is that the hook hooks should be in 3/4 of the circle, then nothing will fall off them even with the bar folded back. And without need, the whole hanger looks like just a stick on the wall; you can hang bags, umbrellas, keys on hooks.

More about hooks

The original wooden hanger can be made without metal at all, not counting the fasteners. Do not rush to throw away the New Year's pine or Christmas tree (only the blanks will need to be turned upside down):

Best of all, such a hanger will look in the country, in a bar or frame house. Depending on the interior design - and in a city apartment. She will go to the bathhouse perfectly: the touch of steamed skin on metal is unpleasant, and to some extent even traumatic.

Hangers in the nursery

Probably, all children scatter wearable things. There is no need to especially scold them for this: without knowing chaos within reasonable limits, you will not accustom yourself to order. Who is against - answer Friday's question to Robinson Crusoe: "Why doesn't God kill the devil?"

However, teaching children to handle things properly is necessary. Only a children's hanger, so as not to cause obvious psychological rejection, should look somewhat disordered. It is also highly desirable that the child associates it with a favorite game or hobby. Examples of wall hangers in the nursery of the "game / hobby" type are given in pos. 1 and 2 fig.

Baby hangers

A universal method of this kind is a tree hanger, pos. 3. In the contour of a tree, as in any fractal structure, order and chaos interact and complement each other, creating a harmonious whole. Do not forget to just make the tree stronger, for example. from plywood from 12 mm, and, as it should, with a step of no more than 250-300 mm, attach to the wall with self-tapping screws from 6 mm in propylene dowels. A tree, after all, to climb on it.

Floor hangers in the nursery are undesirable for the same reason: well, they will climb anyway and crash. Therefore, if you already want a floor hanger in the nursery, you need to make one that you can’t fit on, which can be seen in pos. 4 and 5.

About cutting plywood

In any case, parents face problems that small ones don’t care about yet: material consumption and labor intensity. It is no longer easy to draw a complex contour along a grid on a solid sheet of plywood, then it must be accurately cut out, which is even more difficult. And in the end it turns out that 60% or 80% of the material went to waste, no longer suitable for anything. It is necessary, on the contrary, to make a children's tree hanger from waste. Or cut a denser whole sheet.

Assembling parts of a plywood hanger-tree

The method for this has long been known: element-by-element cutting and assembly. If the tree is plywood, for the full strength of the finished product, each part is recruited from 2 layers, leaving resp. folds and grooves, see fig. Fragments of blanks are assembled on PVA glue, wood glue or Express (liquid nails). If the assembly is on PVA, the fragments must be additionally fastened with small nails with a snake in increments of 100-150 mm with an indent from the edges of 30-40 mm.

They assemble a tree hanger on the same adhesives, but now each connection must be fastened with self-tapping wood screws with an envelope. Then the gaps and fastener heads (they must be drowned during assembly) are rubbed with putty from sawdust of the same plywood on PVA. Such a tree, even without painting, only under varnish, will look solid.

Note: just in case, we recall - all wooden details any wooden hanger before assembly, it is necessary to sand with small numbers of sandpaper and process it with a water-polymer emulsion or PVA diluted with water three to five times. After impregnation, before further work, a technological break is made until the part is completely dry (1-3 days, depending on its size).

And one last thing about hooks

In the illustrations above, you most likely noticed the curved wooden hooks and other details of hangers. It is quite possible to make them at home. In production, dense, small-layer, defect-free wood or waterproof birch plywood (grade BS) is bent heated with steaming or dry, but for homework these methods are too complicated. Only bamboo is more or less simply steamed: the workpiece is boiled for half an hour or an hour in rapidly boiling water, after which it is bent by hand. In case of bending according to the template, the workpiece must be fastened to it quickly, before it has cooled down, with a wide cotton braid or a strip of natural tarpaulin.

Wood rasp

At home, it is easier to cut blanks of the required configuration from a sheet of plywood (any) or MDF of the desired thickness, or, twice or four times more in number, from thin sheet material to dial then how much is required in thickness. Cut with a finishing allowance of approx. 1 mm. The cut blanks are tightly pulled together in a package in a carpenter's vice or in a locksmith's through gaskets made of thick plywood and processed with a rasp on wood to size, and then with a clean sandpaper. One rasp is enough, with flat and semicircular working surfaces, see fig.

The workpieces are assembled into parts in the manner described above. The end surfaces, if you need to hide the layered structure of plywood, are sealed with strips of self-adhesive film under the tree. After that, the part is varnished twice or thrice. acrylic varnish water based; nitrolac can ruin the self-adhesive. Edge (edge) plastic furniture edge not worth it: you need to accurately select the groove for the edge anchor, which requires milling machine, but on curved surfaces of large curvature and small length, the edge still does not hold well. And the details pasted over with self-adhesive, under varnish, from solid wood, even the master cabinetmaker will not immediately distinguish.
