How to make an imitation of fire in the fireplace with your own hands. Imitation of fire in a fireplace with your own hands: dummy and artificial fire, decorative firewood, how to make a flame Firewood for a fireplace what are they made of

Fire imitation is the creation of an artificial flame in a false fireplace. Many apartment dwellers dream of making a bewitching fireplace.

It can even be done by hand.

There are several ways to create an artificial imitation of fire:

  • With the help of a liquid crystal screen.
  • Simulation using .
  • Illusion effect.
  • Cold fire with a fan.
  • using water vapor.

Fire with LCD screen

You will need a TV screen, better liquid crystal screen. You need to choose a TV for a false fireplace in such a way that the screen fits inside the fireplace. After that, you need to find a video with the effect of a burning flame and record it on a TV, for this must be USB input.

Of course, imitation the fire will turn out beautiful. But the screen effects will not be very realistic. This can be fixed by hand.

Imitation of fire using holograms

You will need a hologram with flame elements. What is the essence of this method:

  • A flat picture of a flame that appears to the eye in three dimensions. Such holograms are created using special technologies.
  • We place the hologram in such a way that the edges of the picture are not visible from a distance.
  • We select special lighting. We use LED bulbs or halogen bulbs. After we place the bulbs in the electric fireplace on opposite sides of the hologram.

Thus, from a flat drawing, we get a three-dimensional image. Flames will seem real in an electric fireplace. You will feel the depth of the image, its three-dimensionality. LED lighting creates an optical illusion. From a small picture, an image is obtained that will seem many times larger.

illusion effect

The essence of this effect is as follows: we take several mirrors, place them at different distances from each other. In this case, the angles between the mirrors should have different meaning. Then we take the virtual an image of a flame and place it in a false fireplace.

Need to do special lighting with LED bulbs. The effect will be as follows: the mirrors will reflect the image at different angles, in the electric fireplace there are logs and flying sparks of flame will appear bulky.. The picture becomes realistic.

Cold fire with fan

This method is very easy to implement. You will need the following materials:

  • cardboard or tin box;
  • patchwork fabric;
  • fan;
  • three LED bulbs: red, yellow, blue;
  • three small mirrors;
  • optical filters of three colors: red, yellow, blue.

On cardboard box We place the fan in such a way that the air blows out of it upwards. After that, we install three LED bulbs in the corners of the box. We also install optical filters next to the LED bulbs, and install mirrors on the sides of the box.

From the flap we cut out shapes in the form of triangles of different dimensions and glue on the box. After that we place ready product into a false fireplace, and connect to the network. At the same time, we observe how the flames burn brightly.

Fire using water vapor

We will need:

  • three ultrasonic fog generators;
  • liquid container;
  • distilled water;
  • cardboard container;
  • lighting from RGB lamps;
  • fan.

We take a cardboard container, place three ultrasonic fog generators on the bottom of the box. We fix the fan on a cardboard box. Distilled water is poured into a special container for liquid and place on the generator. The generator will generate fog. Special lighting from RGB lamps gives the effect of a burning flame. The picture seems realistic. Of course, this effect is more expensive, but effective. Artificial fire using water vapor is of better quality.

Artificial firewood for a raised fireplace

When you have an electric fireplace in your room that heats the room, you need to choose heat-resistant wood. To do this, you can buy ceramic firewood, they are more expensive, but the view will be very beautiful. Especially when LED lighting is used.

The dance of the flame fascinates with the changeable dynamics of the curves. Forgotten memories rise up in us pagan ideas of distant ancestors. Ancestors who considered Fire a majestic god. And, despite the fact that we have domesticated and tamed this formidable natural phenomenon, the greatness of Fire makes us admire it again and again.

How pleasant it is to plunge into the contemplation of flames in the twilight in the evening, to feel the slightly bitter aroma of burning logs. But even the owners of private houses do not always dare to break walls, rebuild the attic and roof for the sake of installing a real fireplace. And this is only the first half of the case. During operation, it is necessary to harvest firewood, rake out the ashes, clean the chimney ... And all these efforts are aimed for the most part only to create an atmosphere, because heating houses today is much more practical and less labor- and material-intensive.

And the atmosphere of a house with a hearth will be completely recreated by an imitation of a flame. In this article, we will talk specifically about, that is, about safe ways without an open large flame, unlike bio-fireplaces, which are also successfully used to decorate rooms, but have a real fire.

"Fireplace: imitation of a flame with steam

In the video you can see the flames created by the steam.

This method is the most difficult of the above, it requires the skills of an electrician and special components. Here they are:

  1. Fan 90mm;
  2. DMX controller Velleman K8062;
  3. DMX Decoder BESTEN DMX Decoder 350;
  4. LED RGB lamp MD-9P;
  5. 3 Chinese ultrasonic foggers

According to this principle, some concert instruments, as well as steam electric fireplaces, are made. Imitation with the help of cold illuminated steam is almost indistinguishable from a real dance of fire. And the cost of our assembly is an order of magnitude lower than the cost of a finished electric fireplace. If you decide to use this method, keep in mind that the structure will be built into a false fireplace, that is, it is necessary to provide adequate space.
Assembly diagram:
At the bottom of the container under water, we pre-install assembled generator fog. The generator is equipped with a membrane, which, vibrating at an ultrasonic frequency, creates a reduced pressure above itself (practically a vacuum). Under these conditions, water evaporates room temperature. Cold steam rises up with a fan, where it is illuminated by LED lamps.

The diaphragm is set on top. According to Bernoulli's law, the speed of air movement near the hole increases the more, the smaller the hole in it, which makes the "flame" more realistic. You can try different aperture diameters to achieve maximum similarity.

See the video below for the assembly of the steam flame simulator. One of the steam generators in this build has its own light bulbs, so you'll see a light at the very bottom. Fortunately, this lighting does not affect the "flame" in any way.

"Theatrical" fire

As the name implies, this method is used in theatrical productions, the design of performances and other things. But we will use it to simulate a flame.

So, we need:

  1. Large fan (preferably quiet)
  2. Three halogen lamps with reflectors
  3. Three color filters (orange, red and blue)
  4. Patch of white light silk
  5. A bowl or box to set up the base of our flame

Simulation assembly:

We install a fan at the bottom of the box or bowl, bring the cord out.

Above it, on one axis, we install halogen lamps so that they shine upwards. Above them, at a distance of about 2 cm, we fix color filters. Red and orange are at the edges, blue is above the middle lamp. Such a touch will give our flame more relief and brightness.

Cut pieces from a piece of fabric different sizes. Preferably triangles. irregular shape. So the flame will be more realistic.

We fix the flaps in a bowl or box around the fan. Everything, Our fire is ready!

Plug in the device. Under the action of the fan, the fabric flaps instantly rise up and tremble, the backlight creates a semblance of a yellow-orange flame. Reflections of light scatter along the ceiling and walls, reminiscent of reflections of natural fire.

candle fireplace

One of the easiest ways to imitate a fireplace flame, which has already become almost a traditional and favorite design solution.

Its advantages are ease of execution and real fire, for which, unlike a wood-burning hearth, you do not need to procure fuel. Minus - candles are smoked.

To create a candle composition, several candles of different or the same size are used. The choice of shape and color depends on the style of the room and the wishes of the owner. In order to repeatedly enhance the effect of a small candle composition, use mirrors. They are veneered inner part fireplace. Mirrors set at an angle to each other create multiple reflections.

Fireplace: imitation of a flame with Christmas tree garlands

Another fairly common way to create an imitation of fire. Here I will tell you how to make an imitation of a wood-burning hearth.

We will need:

  1. Branches of the right size
  2. Lace (may not be new, cut from old clothes)
  3. Aluminium foil
  4. Several stones
  5. Christmas electric garland in yellow, orange or red colors.

Branches without gaps are wrapped in foil. This is necessary so that the lace does not subsequently stick to the branches.

Thoroughly coat the lace with glue and wrap the prepared branches in foil with it. Let it dry completely (about a day).

Carefully cut the lace case along the branch and remove the blanks.

We lay out a circle from the stones at the installation site of the hearth. We put a garland in the middle, leave the cord with the plug outside.

We install our "lace" firewood in the likeness of a fire. You can add several stones for the composition. Our hearth is ready. We plug the garland into a socket and admire our imitation.

Advice : The flame will look more natural if the garland is flickering.

Salt lamp imitation

Not the most spectacular, but the most useful imitation. Salt lamp- a lamp, the ceiling of which is made of a single raw salt crystal. Inside the lamp is an ordinary electric light bulb. When heated, the crystal emits negative ions, which are so beneficial to our body. They bind harmful positive ions emitted household appliances, neutralize tobacco smoke, their influence has a beneficial effect on the atmosphere of the house and the well-being of residents. In addition, pinkish Pakistani salt crystals, illuminated from the inside, resemble warm small lights or large hot coals, and, folded into a bizarre composition, will create an original lighting in your fireplace.

Here are some simple ways to decorate your home, make it more comfortable and original.

Here is such a fire I had assembled on the table:

You will need:
1) Chinese fogger from humidifiers.
2) Power supply from PC
3) PC cooler
4) Halogen lamp 12 Volt red
5) Epoxy resin(a lot of)
6) Selicon (any cheap one, a lot)
7) Halogen lamps for 220 Volts (Flickering like a candle. Sold in stores.)

So .... I promised my daughter a "fireplace" under New Year.... More to the point, I found that the fireboxes available for sale are either not close to realistic, or they cost fabulous money (2 thousand euros and more). Decided to do it myself..

The "fire" itself, after many experiments, was made from (it costs about $ 3.5 on Ali Express). I didn’t take pictures of that process, but it’s simple there - I made a metal container, fixed a fogger and a cooler, in top cover- a slot for the exit of "steam".

Here is the diagram:

As is clear from the diagram, the fog formed by the fogger accumulates in a container above the water. The cooler pumps air and the mist escapes into the slot in the top cover. At the same time, it is illuminated by a halogen lamp in an orange-red color. It turns out "fire". And above, the fog condenses, and since the lamp does not illuminate there, it turns out "smoke" ... It is important that the structure is tightly covered with the top cover. Because fog is heavier than air, and if it has a "loophole" - it will pour out anywhere, but not up. I did this: I overlaid the edges of the resulting container with a thick layer of silicone, and applied a smeared liquid soap(so as not to stick), a piece of laminate and let it dry. I got a perfectly even "elastic band" around the edge. The top cover, made of a sheet of two-millimeter steel and painted with nitro-paint, lies on it tightly.

After that, he began to make the "bonfire" itself. I collected coal from extinct fires in the forest and smeared it with building silicone.

After drying, removed Silicone forms and poured epoxy into them, which I previously tinted red. (Because she herself is yellow, it turned out to be orange). After removing the mold, I sharpened the burnt logs, and then poured epoxy into the mold and inserted them back. He took out the finished "coals" and tinted with black matte paint from a spray can.

That, in fact, is all .... Laid out on the top cover neon lamps at 220 volts. (They flicker), after which he folded the "bonfire". Powered everything except neon from computer block power supply - lying around, as it has an unstable voltage. And for my needs - just right. From it I got 24 Volts for the fogger, 12 for the cooler and halogen.

All. It remains to embed it all in fireplace portal. (I will talk about this later)

Today, many turn into country house biofireplaces, traditional wooden hearths or potbelly stoves. Someone prefers an exact copy of historical models, others adhere to strict symmetry in the design of such a device. Fireplaces are decorated with carvings, bas-reliefs, sculptures, various paintings. However, without natural firewood you will not warm the house or the soul. Keep your stove equipment running with natural fuel - wood.

Peculiarities

This material it is intended for burning in fireplaces, fire chambers. With it, you can achieve the necessary heat, heat and lighting in the room. Loft, urban chic, country, eco and many other styles are more popular than ever. In them, an obligatory element of the interior is a lounge-zone, which cannot do without decorative fireplaces. Firewood for them can be purchased in sawn or chopped form.

The main property of the material should be minimal amount moisture. Most often, firewood has standard size from 25 to 33 cm. Products are sold by weight, they are packaged or delivered in bulk stock meters.

With the right choice of fuel, the fireplace will bring an atmosphere of comfort, a special magic to the house. Of all the currently known "nutrition" for him, firewood is the most environmentally friendly option. Crackling, they create an enchanting smell, in the best way reflecting on human health.

What can be heated?

Any fireplace installation can be heated using briquettes, birch, beech or brushwood from any fruit tree, juniper branches, etc. The owners of country fireplaces believe that a wonderful alternative to charred logs is briquettes, which burn several times more intensely, give greater heat transfer, leaving a minimum of soot and occupying a minimum of space in the house.

Ordinary firewood is much cheaper, even such species as alder and aspen, pear pine, apple. The mass of dry matter in briquettes is minimal. When kindling, they are placed on paper, birch bark. Both materials ignite equally well. The burning time of a briquette will be much longer than a standard log, however, it is brushwood, stumps and roots that will give the aesthetic beauty of flames.

The British use an amazing secret to reduce soot in the chimney. They throw a pinch of salt on the logs or briquettes during each bookmark. They are also often placed in a vertical position for a much more vigorous and vigorous burning. With firewood in your stock there will be half an hour for heating, and with briquettes - a full hour.

Higher requirements for open structures fire safety, good ventilation of the room. They serve primarily for space heating, consume from 200 to 1000 m3 of air per hour. It is important to lay a floor around such a structure made of non-combustible materials (tiles, stone, etc.). It is best to use for hornbeam beech, birch firewood.

For closed structures, you can even pick up oak, aspen, logs of fruit trees. In this case, the degree of fire hazard is reduced, unpleasant odors combustion products do not spread indoors. The only question remains to the chimney, which will clog more intensively.

What can't be burned?

Not the best option for fireplaces, wood from pine, spruce will become, because with them the risks of fires increase. Despite this, they give a pleasant New Year's smell. In kindling a fireplace, yew, hornbeam, etc. will cause great difficulties. Coniferous trees have high content resins, which means they are as flammable as possible. In no case should you heat the room with sawdust and residues old furniture which may contain varnish or paint.

Which ones are better?

It is believed that the main fuel for any fireplace is hardwoods trees. First of all, you should pay attention to hardwoods, such as oak, birch. It is worth noting that when burning, they emit a little heat, but they have a fairly high flame value, they burn for a long time. Alder and fruit firewood are in demand. They should be moderately dried, not have a gray tint.

Fuel briquettes

Briquettes are considered an excellent substitute for firewood, coal (they also belong to the category of hardwood). Such eurofirewood is suitable for boiler rooms, home Russian stoves, fireplaces. They are produced from industrial waste, for example, woodworking, food: rice husks, various seeds, tyrsa, peat, sawdust, etc.

The composition of the briquette includes an adhesive element, which experts call a binder. To obtain maximum strength, the product lends itself to strong pressing, drying. The material does not bear absolutely no harm to human health.

Its main features are:

  • high heat transfer due to humidity of 4-8%;
  • high density 0.95-1g / cm3, affecting the calorific value;
  • ergonomic material that occupies a minimum of space in the house, utility room, basement;
  • environmental friendliness (they do not clog environment);
  • low humidity, due to which a little soot is released.

Fuel briquettes are supplied in three formats: Pini-Key, Roof and Nestro with the same chemical composition. The product made from seed husks gives the greatest heat transfer, the smallest - from rice husks.

Pressed

The production of briquettes is not complete without a hydraulic or mechanical press. Such models do not contain harmful binders for health, have different shape and resemble ordinary firewood. Experts recommend avoiding "fuel" for the fireplace, made from waste plywood factories. In some cases, the manufacturer uses not only pressing, but also firing surfaces. Popular firms for the production of such materials are C.F. Nielsen, Pini-kay, RUF, Nestro, etc.

Pine

Pine is the best option for fireplaces, and will serve as a fuel for an open structure, but in small quantities. Pine logs are afraid to buy only for one simple reason: they are highly flammable and flare up instantly, increasing the risk of fire. On the other hand, pine gives an exceptional fragrance associated with comfort and homely atmosphere. They contain a huge amount of resin, so you can’t do without cod, smoke, sparkle.

birch

Birch logs emit an enormous amount of heat when burned. You can watch the high bright flame for hours. All the time while the fireplace is burning, pleasant aromas, as well as special substances that can purify the air, will not leave the room. An important advantage birch firewood turned out to be a low price, and the disadvantage is a large and rapid accumulation of soot in the chimney.

aspen

Aspen belongs to those species that have soft wood, which means they burn excellently, practically do not spark. The density of the dry material is 0.37 g/cm3. The main advantage of such firewood: minimal smoke, incredibly bright fire. It will not only create a spiritual atmosphere in the room, but also “clean” the chimney from soot due to the high combustion column. Aspen can be combined with oak or birch logs in order to increase the ignition rate.

Oak

Oak has the highest heat output of all known species - 4.2 kWh/kg. The only negative, which is the difficulty of splitting oak firewood, does not affect their high demand at all. They belong to hard rock, give a pleasant aroma, are affordable.

alder

Alder logs and branches can instantly flare up. Compared to other rocks, they emit less heat, but they are excellent at burning soot and cleaning chimneys. Flaming up, alder releases special substances into the air, which, among other things, effectively fight colds.

How to heat a fireplace with glass?

glass fireplace retain its transparency, neat appearance, if you use a special type of firewood in it, even decorative is better (models with backlight, ceramic products, etc.).

It is always a pleasure to watch the dance of fire through huge glasses with wide viewing angles, on which soot does not appear immediately. The purity and degree of transparency of the glass surface is affected by the quality of the fuel you choose.

Purchase firewood with a moisture content of less than 20%. Such a dry material under natural conditions demonstrates an even flame, which means it reduces the risks of strong smoke and soot formation. Not best solution will be placed in the furnace conifers which sparkle, crackle and clog not only the glass "panorama", but also the chimney itself because of their resinousness.

How to heat a fireplace correctly?

You don't want to burn out after a few fires, do you? To do this, you need to learn the technology of normal draft and how to properly reduce the amount of smoke in the stove, fireplace. While you enjoy the sonorous crackle of wood, a natural product of combustion, carbon dioxide, is released into the air. Most of it enters the chimney and out. But part of it still remains in the room. It is important to adjust such traction so as not to burn out during rest, sleep, etc.

It is important to use "fuel" with a minimum percentage of moisture, less than 20%. Ignition should be carried out in such a way that the temperature rises gradually. The source of smoke is the bark, so it is best to use firewood that has been previously cleaned or rounded.

It is also necessary to systematically check the tightness, integrity of the heated system (stoves, furnaces, fireplaces). Experts do not advise closing the damper during ignition. Through a small sash or opening, the intensity of traction will be regulated.

Many people wonder what to do if both firewood and briquettes burn poorly. In this case, you should use additional materials for high-quality kindling: shavings, thin chips, branches, etc.

photos

How beautiful to lay?

For beautiful styling, “arm yourself” with firewood of an approximate similar size. It is better if their length is 4-7 cm less than the depth of the furnace. First, it is necessary to lay kindling, wood chips in the form of a slide, and on top, at a distance of 10-15 cm from the bottom, the firewood itself is like a “pioneer fire”.

How much do you need?

When choosing a budget or expensive option for fireplace equipment, an important criterion is the capacity of the firebox, then how much wood will optimally fit into it. Dry, but not rotten firewood should occupy no more than ¾ of the structure itself. If these are thick logs, it is enough to use 3-4 pieces, and if we are talking about birch, aspen, poplar logs, up to 10 pieces will be required.

Decorative firewood for the fireplace will act as an original design option for the firebox, bring an atmosphere of warmth and comfort to the interior. Modern designs are often not used for space heating, being only an exquisite design element. Electric versions and false fireplaces without a live flame look artificial and not aesthetically pleasing. The optimal solution for such hearths can be decorative logs that emphasize the notes of natural naturalness.

Decorative firewood for a fireplace is a high-quality imitation of smoldering logs. In a city apartment, the installation of a traditional design is impossible, so electric fireplaces are widely used. Despite the absence of smoke and the device's rapid heat supply, the desired perception of the hearth is lost. Firewood models are used to give naturalness, providing a holistic and complete look.

Proper design will make the imitation as similar as possible to a classic wood-burning fireplace, hide unsightly details and improve the aesthetic appearance. Decorative firewood will help to recreate a unique feeling of true comfort and warmth, complementing the visual perception of the composition on a subconscious level.

Types of materials

Artificial logs are presented in a wide variety of species. The material for the production of products can be ceramic, stone, or plastic. For connoisseurs of natural textures, there are options from ordinary wood, treated with special compounds.

Decorative firewood for the fireplace natural basis are used to design artificial structures and their surroundings. The trend of environmental friendliness of interiors occupies a leading position in interior design.

Logs are presented in the form of whole poles, chopped logs, or dies. Such options for firewood for a fireplace are often created by hand. Real wood may contain various insects, mold, so care should be taken Special attention integrity and purity of the wood structure.

At the time of ignition and operation of the eco-fireplace, decorative elements should be removed from the furnace space. The system works on special form fuel. Logs can be permanently located in an electric fireplace, or a false structure. In an artificial model, when installing candles, you will need to pay attention to fire safety conditions.

The natural texture and palette of wood shades of handmade decorative firewood for a fireplace allows you to choose the most appropriate option for an organic combination with the overall interior. Bright hues birch logs are appropriate in modern and classic design. Bright aspen color is suitable for unusual design as a contrast.

Ceramics and stone

The refractory properties of ceramic and stone imitations of firewood make it possible to leave a dummy in the firebox during the operation of the biofireplace. The impact of fire does not have a destructive effect on materials. Ceramic products realistically imitate small details of logs, creating the effect of naturalness.

Decorative accessories for a ceramic fireplace are presented:

  • dummies of whole or chopped logs;
  • imitation of wood with a texture burned in a fire;
  • decorative coals;
  • products in the form of cones, branches.

At a distance it is difficult to distinguish objects from natural elements. The properties of the material allow you to accurately recreate copies. Decorations for a wood-burning fireplace made of ceramics are fireproof due to the fire resistance of ceramics. Even under the influence high temperatures, cones and decorative branches will not light up.

The service life of the products is quite long. With regular firing of ceramic models, structural damage can occur over time. It is important to consider the quality of product performance. Cheap options are prone to rapid deterioration. Solid products, made in accordance with technological norms and rules, can serve for several years.

Admirers of eco-friendly materials can appreciate the imitations of stone firewood. The bookmark is made directly in the firebox area. The flame of a living fire of biofuel structures looks impressive, passing through the stones.

combustion products in this option fireplaces do not stand out, so that the arrangement of the chimney is not required. Variations of the device allow you to implement unusual interior solutions without much effort.

Non-standard options

Modern fireplace appliances are based on innovative technologies. The flickering of fire is achieved with the help of electrical impulses. original version a projection of the flame in a three-dimensional graphic image using optics and light effects can be performed.

Decorative firewood with lighting is the most in a simple way furnace design. Products are made of ceramics, plastic. The material lends itself well to processing, allowing you to qualitatively imitate wood texture. The cost of plastic products does not require large investments and is affordable for a wide range of consumers.

The burning effect electric fireplaces achieved by equipping wood-burning elements LED backlight. The dummy looks very realistic, it creates the appearance of red-hot coals with a flickering flame. There is a three-dimensional image on the fireplace screen, which in some models of electric fireplaces complements the soundtrack. Artificial fire will favorably complement the model of firewood, enhancing the visual imitation of the flame.

Illuminated decorative firewood is widely used to decorate false fireplaces. The structures are made from various materials. The stylistic decision may include decorating the structure with candles, natural materials in the form of branches, cones, artificial leaves. The firebox area is often filled with natural wood, decorative stones, simulating a hearth.

Ways to place decorative firewood

Decorating a fireplace with firewood can be done different ways taking into account the general stylistic design of the room. Laying natural firewood provides options for location in the fireplace, on shelves, in a basket, or in a firewood recess. Forged woodpile with elegant coils will complement the composition of a wood-burning fireplace.

Logs are laid out in the firebox:

  1. The chaotic order of placement gives a natural carelessness to the lines.
  2. Smooth rows create the effect of cleanliness and order.
  3. Placing firewood along the wall is appropriate for decorating false fireplaces.
  4. Laying a house will fill the interior with an atmosphere of warmth and comfort, allowing you to recreate the look of a hearth.

A beneficial addition will be the design of the fireplace screen with accessories and elements in the form of stones, cones, candles. Creating a holistic composition, it is important to take into account the decorative properties of each item, the appropriateness of texture and color combinations.

Too much a large number of small parts can overload the interior, creating the effect of clutter. It is recommended to observe the measure, choosing the most realistic elements for simulation. Competent selection of fireplace design in the form decorative imitations, or natural firewood, will help create an exquisite accent in the design of the room, filling the home with an atmosphere of warmth.
