Metal gazebos for summer cottages. Metal gazebos for summer cottages (38 photos): varieties. Frame manufacturing, assembly and decoration Construction of a stationary metal gazebo: step by step instructions

People come to the dacha not only to garden or garden all day. On suburban area you can enjoy nature, take a break from the bustle of the city, relax in a friendly company. Some people prefer to install metal gazebos for summer cottages on their plots: these are wonderful places to relax, which have a lot of advantages. It is worth understanding the types of such structures and the features of their use.

Advantages and disadvantages

A metal gazebo for a summer residence can be made independently or bought at ready-made. Such a design will in any case have many advantages (of course, if you chose high-quality materials and approached its creation with the utmost seriousness).

Consider the main advantages of such structures, which are noted by many owners summer cottages.

  • Ease of installation. You can create a structure from a metal profile and install it in a day (if you understand the features of installation work).
  • Light weight. A gazebo on a metal frame is especially well suited if the soil in your area is heaving and not stable. Installation of this design can be carried out without a foundation. It can be portable or stationary.
  • Long service life. If metal care is regular and correct, it is quite possible that the gazebo will last for many years.

  • Strength. Rectangular, square, round metal profiles are very strong. It is quite difficult to break or damage such products (both during use and during installation work).
  • Possibility to combine hardware with other materials.
  • Resistant to insects, rodents, fungus or mold. Iron products do not rot.
  • Undemanding to external conditions, ease of use. Caring for such arbors is as simple as possible: you just need to regularly apply compounds to them that prevent corrosion. To prevent rusting of structural elements, paint can be applied to them.

  • Fire resistance. It will be possible to install a brazier in a metal gazebo without fear that the structure will catch fire.
  • Lots of possible designs. You may not purchase ready product and order a non-standard individual project.
  • Acceptable price.
  • Appearance neatness.

However, metal arbors also have disadvantages. This material is no different. thermal insulation properties. But this disadvantage is not very important, because country gazebos usually used in summer. When on metal surface affects sunlight, it heats up, but excessive heating can be avoided by installing the structure under the trees (there will be a shadow on it). To get a refreshing coolness and shade, you can plant climbing plants near the gazebo.

If you prefer elite appearance structures, you can decorate the structure with forged elements. Such a gazebo will turn out elegant, stylish, it will look very noble.

Varieties

Usually such arbors are created on the basis of a metal frame. Such structures are prefabricated on the corners or welded. To be able to attach the roof, a truss system is attached to the frame.

materials

Most often, a profile pipe is used to create a frame. If the dimensions of the structure are very significant, you can choose a frame welded from a channel as a basis. Installation work is usually carried out as quickly as possible. The creation of simple welded structures often takes several hours.

Many homeowners prefer lightweight structures , for the creation of which prefabricated frames made of iron or aluminum are used. You can use canopies-walls, tent roof. At the present time, there are many small and large structures in the form of tents on the market. Structures are multifaceted, but square, rectangular shapes are more common.

Forged design can be absolutely any, depending on the imagination of customers. Modern craftsmen can create entire ships, carriages, use openwork curlicues to decorate the gazebo.

Some choose metal-plastic structures for their summer cottages. They are collapsible. Such structures are made from steel profile, which is coated with a thick layer of PVC, as well as a composition that prevents corrosion. These surfaces are very resistant to temperature changes, moisture, fungi, rodents, and decay.

Before carrying out the installation of a metal-plastic structure, care must be taken to carefully prepare the surface where such a gazebo will be installed. It is recommended to opt for a slab or columnar foundation.

Design

Today, there are many options for the design of gazebos made of metal. You can easily choose exactly the design that fits perfectly into general design your site. Even an ordinary design will become very beautiful if, for example, additional forged openwork elements are added to it. Other materials can be used to decorate gazebos, such as wood lattices or stone pillars.

Forms

Metal can be given a variety of shapes, because such a material is characterized by increased ductility. It is processed by welding. So you can get curvilinear outlines, multifaceted structures, round or rectangular structures.

Arbors made of metal are usually distinguished by grace and aesthetics. However, you need to take the decoration of the structure as seriously as possible - only in this case it will become a unique highlight of your site.

Create a project

First, you will need to prepare a construction project for a summer residence, which consists of several components.

  • The scheme, focusing on which, you will create the foundation. If the structure is small, they usually opt for a columnar foundation. You will need to take care of creating supports in the middle of the structure and at the corners.
  • A drawing showing the dimensions of the structure, as well as the location of the pillars or supports bearing walls.
  • Construction sketch (you can find an image on the Internet or draw a gazebo yourself).
  • The plan of your territory, where the site for the construction will be marked. To avoid unnecessary problems during the implementation construction works, also mark the trees and other structures that are on the site.

To create a drawing or sketch, you can use a special computer program. This is very convenient, because you can see everything from any angle.

When creating a gazebo, try to take into account which side the wind blows most often., and choose the most convenient position for the structure (so that the entrance is located where it blows less often). So you will ensure comfort for yourself, your loved ones and guests.

Many owners of summer cottages choose the size of the gazebo 3x3 meters. It is considered one of the most suitable for such structures. In such a gazebo, you can comfortably accommodate family members or a small company. 4x4, 3x4 options are also popular.

Preparation and necessary equipment

About to start installation work an anti-corrosion agent should be applied to all metal surfaces. If necessary, it will be possible to cover the metal structure with paint. When building a large and complex stationary gazebo, you will need to create a foundation.

Prepare the following before installation:

  • steel bars;
  • paint for metal surfaces;
  • metal profile;
  • sand, cement and crushed stone;
  • sheathing material.

To make installation work easier and faster, use the following tools:

  • door with drills, screwdriver;
  • pipe bender;
  • device for welding;
  • shovel (it will be needed to prepare the foundation).

Installation

From the site provided for the gazebo, it will be necessary to remove pollution, various debris. Then use a shovel to dig a hole for the base. There you will need to pour about 50 mm of sand. Tamp it down and fill it with water. Then you should install the formwork with reinforcing mesh.

If the foundation is columnar, you will have to dig several holes(in the middle of the gazebo and in the corners). The pillars can be monolithic concrete, made of asbestos pipes, blocks, brick elements. Pour gravel and sand into the bottom of all holes. Then you will need to pour concrete and install the reinforcement bars, since you will tie the frame of the structure to them. Install the frame on the foundation. Scald the posts with veins (you will need two rows).

Then you will need to install the truss system. It can be wooden or metal. To make it more convenient for you, create such a system on the ground, not on the roof. Then install it on top of the structure. When all the elements of the building are installed, take care of the sheathing of the walls of the structure and work with the roof.

Aluminum floors

Aluminum floors in sheds that you may see in the photographs of our products are additional option and are available for individual orders.

This is due to the fact that when completing a metal utility block with a stainless metal floor (an additional galvanized frame and aluminum sheets U-shaped), the weight of the product increases many times, which requires additional packaging space, and, accordingly, the final cost of the entire product increases significantly.

To assemble and install a metal shed (metal utility block), a base or foundation is required.

We offer one of the options. It is usually used when buying a barn without a metal floor.

  1. We make the base frame from a bar treated with an antiseptic. The allowable size of the beam in the section is width (40 ÷ 60) mm, height (100 ÷ 120) mm, length = length of the utility block + 10 cm.
  2. We assemble the frame by connecting the parts with metal corners.
  3. Having chosen the place of installation of the metal shed, we remove the vegetable soil, along the length and width by 12-15 cm. more sizes hozblok.
  4. We install the support blocks at the points of “dressing” of the frame of the base of the utility block, 5-10 cm above the ground level in a horizontal plane.
  5. We fill the entire area with crushed stone to the height of the supporting blocks and install the frame on the blocks.
  6. We lay plywood or OSB (thickness not less than 12 mm) sheet on the frame and fix it around the perimeter to the timber and to the transverse logs of the timber frame.

The foundation is ready.

Now can be assembled on the surface of the base (plinth) metal carcass barn in accordance with the step-by-step instructions that came with the barn

ABOUT snow load on the roof of the shed

1. The roofs of collapsible sheds have a slope less than 45 degrees.

Therefore, you need to know and remember that:

  • a roof slope that is self-clearing from snow is a roof slope with an inclination of 45 degrees or more to the horizon.
  • roofs with an angle of inclination of less than 45 degrees require periodic cleaning of snow and ice.
  • main technical requirement To clean the roof from snow is to prevent the height of the snow cover on the roof from more than 30 cm.

2. The following are excerpts from current regulations on cleaning pitched roofs from snow and ice, acting on the territory of Russia, Moscow and the Moscow region.

Remember that the responsibility for compliance with the rules and regulations for cleaning pitched roofs from snow and ice always lies only with the user of the product, the structure individual or operating organization.

2.12. During intensive leaf fall and snowfall, it is necessary to promptly clean the roof. Sweeping leaves and snow is safe for roofing. On a galvanized roof, snow can be thrown off with wooden shovels, leaving a layer of snow about 5 cm thick on the roof. It is strictly forbidden to use metal shovels and similar devices to clean the roof, which can damage roofing.

2.13. If the layer of freshly fallen snow exceeds 5 cm, snow removal on a roof with a slope of less than 45 ° should be carried out on the roof section for a gable roof at a distance of up to 3 m from the edge of the eaves, and for a single slope - 4.5 m. With a snow cover thickness of more than 30 cm taking into account the density of freshly fallen snow of 0.25 g/cm3, the mass of snow cover exceeds the allowable standard, and, therefore, cleaning is necessary. Roofs with a pitch of 45° or more are self-cleaning.

The gazebo is a great opportunity to relax in comfort in the fresh air. This building can be found in almost every yard, on every personal plot. Today they are built from wood, stone, brick, concrete, but the most openwork and lightest gazebos are made of metal.

In this article we will talk about the types and advantages of metal arbors, what they are made of, we will analyze in detail how to design the structure correctly, calculate the dimensions and make a drawing. And we will also give detailed step-by-step instructions on how to make a gazebo from a metal profile with your own hands.

Metal superiority

There are many advantages to metal gazebos. In a metal profile construction, you can easily express an infinite variety of shapes, sizes and proportions, in a small architectural form you can embody the most incredible fantasies. Needless to say, high-quality metal summerhouses are durable and reliable, and besides, they are very light buildings.

Artistic forging will decorate even the simplest gazebo

With proper processing and care, metal gazebos can stand for many decades, they do not require expensive maintenance during operation, and if necessary, they can always be repaired.

And if wooden buildings must be protected from chemical and biological influences, from insects, rot, fungi, then perhaps the only serious enemy of the metal profile is rust, but with modern ways processing is no longer a problem. Good protection is powder coating, various soils and anti-corrosion compounds, hammer paint, which can be applied independently.

Advice: Metal is a material with high thermal conductivity, it heats up quickly and cools down just as quickly. Therefore, if a metal gazebo is entwined with lianas and or perennial loaches, then it is better to remove them from the frame for the winter, otherwise they may freeze out.

Design features

By and large, all metal gazebos are a welded or prefabricated frame at the corners, on which a kind of rafter system for the roof device.

Material

The frame is usually made of a profile pipe: round or square, corner, art rolled. For large structures, a frame welded from a channel can serve as the basis.

In terms of installation speed, garden metal gazebos have no competitors; with ready-made drawings and the availability of material, a small, simple welded structure can be made within a few hours.

It is impossible to ignore light, summer gazebos on a collapsible aluminum or iron frame, with an awning roof, and sometimes with canopy walls. The modern market offers a huge number of summer pavilions, large and small, but, as a rule, they are rectangular or square, sometimes multifaceted.

And of course, forged arbors, there is no limit to fantasy, rectangular and round, in the form of carriages and ships, decorated with tracery curlicues and very simple. Forged gazebo - this is undoubtedly a special chic landscape design.

And completely the new kind summer buildings - metal-plastic gazebos. These are collapsible products made of a steel profile treated with an anti-corrosion compound and covered with a thick layer of PVC. They do not rust, do not rot, they are not afraid of rodents and fungi, they are not afraid of moisture and temperature changes. When installing a metal-plastic gazebo, it is important to properly prepare the site, the elements should not come into contact with the ground. Better if it will slab foundation or columnar.

The product does not require additional maintenance during operation, and this saves money and time

Design

The types and style of gazebos are striking in their diversity. Even simple garden gazebos from a professional pipe you can decorate with openwork forged elements, and the building will literally be transformed.

I must say that welded gazebos made of metal combined with some other material look very original, for example, if part of the supporting pillars is made of natural stone, or parapet is made of decorative wooden lattice.

Photo of metal gazebos combined with brick

IN Lately it became fashionable to make pavilions-arbors. The closed part of the building is laid out of brick, sometimes glazed, and a metal open canopy is attached to it. The entire structure can be made under one roof, but most often polycarbonate is used for the metal frame.

Photo of a gazebo from a profile pipe and polycarbonate

Forms

The metal is very plastic, easy to weld, which allows you to make gazebos of various configurations: rectangular, round, multifaceted, combined from several geometric shapes and curvilinear.

Note that metal gazebos always look light and elegant, and if you correctly think over the design and decor of the structure, then it is difficult to find equal beauty and luxury to them. They can safely compete with wood lace and beauty. natural stone. And besides, metal goes well with almost any material, so there is no limit to the perfection of metal arbors.

Design

An independent gazebo project should include:

  • a site plan with a designation of a place for a gazebo, other outbuildings and trees should also be marked on it, so that during construction you do not have to face an annoying hindrance;
  • a sketch of the building, you can draw it yourself or find a picture on the Internet;
  • a drawing indicating the location of load-bearing walls or pillars, as well as overall dimensions gazebos;
  • a scheme for pouring the foundation, usually a columnar foundation is laid under small architectural forms: it is imperative to provide supports at the corners and in the middle of the structure;
Advice: To use the gazebo with comfort, do not forget about the wind rose in your area. Locate the entrance on the side where the least wind blows.

Sketches

Of course, looking at photos of beautiful structures is sometimes breathtaking. Beauty! Want! But do not forget that a do-it-yourself gazebo will be built from metal, so choose simple designs that echo the design of the main house. Of course, if the plot is large, and the gazebo will hide in the depths of the garden, among the trees, then you can give free rein to your imagination.

Also keep in mind that it is easiest to build a rectangular metal gazebo, small in size, with a vaulted polycarbonate roof, but even in this case there are difficulties, you will have to bend the pipes, and this will require a template or a pipe bender. The roof can be replaced with a hipped one, but then a little more material is required.

It is better to design a building on vertical pipe supports (round or square), and after the frame is assembled, you can buy ready-made forged elements and decorate a gazebo from a metal profile.

iron gazebos, photo easy, portable combined design

Dimensions

The dimensions of the gazebo directly depend on the functionality of the structure, if this is a room for two, then 3-4 m 2 is enough, for a large company the area is calculated based on a comfortable stay for 1 person - 2-4 m 2. But as practice has shown and according to numerous reviews on the forums, it can be argued that the most popular gazebos are 3 * 3 m, 3 * 4 m, 6 * 4m.

Iron gazebos, photo of a metal profile structure decorated with forging elements

If the site is small, then it is advisable to build a small metal gazebo-barrel, you can’t walk around in it, but you can sit at the table in a close company.

Photo of a gazebo from a metal profile, a portable, practical and ergonomic frame for small garden plots

Important: If the gazebo from the profile is small and light, then the foundation can not be laid, it is enough to clear the area and place flat stones or blocks under the corners. But it is better to pave the area under the gazebo with paving stones.

How to weld a gazebo from a metal profile with your own hands

Arbor made of metal photos, drawings and step by step instructions the manufacture of which is described below, has a rectangular shape 3 * 4 m, 2.7 m high, the roof is hip, the structure is assembled from a metal profile of different sections.

The parapet of the gazebo can be made from ready-made forged gratings, sewn up with wood or polycarbonate

The construction of a gazebo for summer cottages made of metal begins with clearing the site for the foundation. Remove debris, transfer the markings from the drawings to the terrain, pull the rope around the corners, check the geometry of the corners.

How to make a foundation

Remove upper layer soil. Dig holes for the posts, 500-700 mm deep. In our case, these are 12 pillars, as shown in the diagram below.

Foundation, pillar layout

The pillars can be laid out of bricks or blocks, in which case do not forget about the reinforcing strapping every 3-4 rows, you can also use asbestos pipes or ready-made concrete blocks. We will pour monolithic concrete supports. At the bottom of the pit, pour gravel 100 mm, sand 100 mm, tamp. Tie the frame of the post from the reinforcement, 4 ribbed rods of 8-10 mm are enough, you can simply poke the reinforcement into the ground, but in this case it will quickly rust.

At the bottom of the pit, on a pillow, pour concrete, 70-100 mm thick, install the prepared reinforcing cage into it, wrap it in 2 layers with roofing material, pour concrete so that the post is 100-200 mm above ground level. Insert rods into the middle of the posts so that they stick out. We will tie the frame of the gazebo to them.

Good to know: Reinforced concrete column with a cross section of 400 * 400 mm can withstand a load of up to 40 tons.

Concrete pillars can be loaded after 28 days, when the mortar has fully set

Installing the metal base

For vertical supports, take square metal poles 100 * 100 mm, but smaller sections are also suitable. Install the vertical posts on the foundation pillars and secure with anchors, additionally weld them to the reinforcement previously released from the foundation.

To increase the fulcrum and reliability of fastening, weld the sole from one end of the pillars

It is advisable to connect the columns along the perimeter from the bottom along the perimeter and the middle ones with a channel 100 * 100 mm. From above, we tie the supports with a rectangular pipe, with a section of 40 * 40 mm, 40 * 60 mm, we also connect the central supports with each other. It remains to make the truss system.

The rafters are boiled on the ground, from a pipe 20 * 20 mm. Can be assembled as a whole and then lifted with a crane. And you can make farms in parts. Separately, we cook the ridge beam, in the photo there is a rectangle in the middle, then corner trusses. In place (at the top), the truss system is additionally connected with metal pipes.

The truss system can be made of both metal and wood.

We clean the metal frame from rust, scale and oil stains, primer and paint. From above, we sheathe the rafters with plywood, 12 mm thick, moisture resistant, and on it with a stele soft roof. We lay logs on the floor, wooden bars 50 * 100 mm, we sew them with a tongue-and-groove board or decking.

Do-it-yourself metal gazebos can be decorated with forged elements or wood, it all depends on the design of the metal structures and on the construction budget

Metal country arbors - designs are inexpensive, aesthetic and easy to assemble. This explains their extraordinary popularity. You can build such a structure on a suburban area in a couple of days. Of course, before that, you need to decide on its shape, size, and also choose the most suitable material for sheathing. Only after that you can start welding the frame.

Further in the article, we will deal in detail with how to correctly draft such a structure and build it with your own hands.

What are the advantages of metal gazebos

The main advantage of metal gazebos is that they can be installed absolutely on any soil, even unstable. Moreover, if desired, some varieties of such structures, unlike the same wooden ones, can be moved from place to place.

The second advantage of such structures as gazebos for summer cottages made of metal is a variety of designs and a very aesthetic appearance. Conceived, such structures have an unusually beautiful, original form. If desired, you can choose an option that is ideally suited to the design of the site, both in classical and modern, folk and almost any other style.

Photos of metal gazebos, comfortable and beautiful:

Another merit metal structures considered extraordinary strength and durability. The steel arbor will not be covered with a white coating of mold, like a wooden one, will not rot and will never suffer from insects. At the same time, iron structures are much cheaper than chopped and cobbled ones. Collecting them is also much easier.

Varieties of welded arbors

Garden metal arbors may differ both in the material used for the manufacture, and in shape or purpose.

Types of frames and sheathing made of iron

Photo portable and stationary design

In portable gazebos, the supports are attached to the lower horizontal frame, welded from strong metal. Of course, in terms of dimensions, such prefabricated options are usually much smaller than stationary ones.

In general, metal summer gazebo may have very simple design, and the original exclusive .

How to make a project

What should be the size

The scheme of fastening cellular polycarbonate to the frame on a self-tapping screw with a thermal washer

Important: You need to work with polycarbonate correctly. Since this material is able to expand with increasing air temperature, it is impossible to tighten the fasteners too much. A gap of approximately 1 mm should be left between the sheet and the head of the fastener. Best to use special self-tapping screws with a thermal washer.

As you can see, assembling a metal gazebo is not a particularly difficult process. The main thing is to draw up the right project, accurately calculating everything. The rest is a matter of technique.

In a hot sultry summer, when the house is unbearably hot, you so want to find cubby outdoors. For these purposes, you can build a do-it-yourself gazebo made of metal on a personal plot. This design is both simple and elegant, while it will not close the picturesque landscape around the house and will become a harmonious addition to the overall architectural ensemble of the suburban area.

Next, proceed to the installation of a columnar foundation - the base of the gazebo. To do this, pits 50-70 cm deep are dug in the corners of the site, into which a layer of crushed stone (20 cm) is poured and supporting profile pipes are poured with concrete.

Preparing a site for a gazebo

Attention: the evenness of the installation of the pillars must be checked with a level.

Formation of the metal frame

After installing the vertical metal racks, they begin to fasten the horizontal crossbars. To do this, you can use iron bars, or pipes of a smaller section. Metal elements can be connected to each other by welding, or with the help of bolts and self-tapping screws. Transverse pipes for fencing the structure are installed at a height of 1-1.2 m. And the top support pillars fasten with the help of the upper strapping.

Please note: piping should be welded to each vertical rack- this will ensure the reliability of the design.

Ways of fastening elements of gazebos made of metal, photo drawings

Next, proceed to the installation of the frame under the roof. So that precipitation does not linger on it, the transverse logs are fixed at an angle (30-45 degrees). For gable roof perform several reference triangles, which are connected by a common profile along the upper point, and their bases are connected to the main frame of the gazebo.

The construction of the frame of a metal gazebo for a summer residence, photo

Advice: before installing the roofing, the metal frame should be primed and painted, since it will be problematic to do this after overlapping.

Roof

One of the simplest and economical options roofing for the gazebo is polycarbonate. Cellular polycarbonate 8 mm thick is suitable for the roof of the gazebo. It is attached to special bolts with thermal washers. To do this, polycarbonate sheets are cut to the required dimensions, and holes are drilled in the pipes for fastening. The ends of polycarbonate sheets can be closed with special strips - this will ensure them additional protection and give it a cleaner look. As a result, we get a rather cozy and inexpensive gazebo, which remains only to be equipped with benches or other furniture for a good rest.

Attention: when laying roofing, install it with a slight overhang. This will protect all structural elements from atmospheric influences.

Do-it-yourself gazebo from a metal profile

Metal gazebos in the country are a sign of the good taste of the owners of the site. They will become a harmonious addition to landscape design, a reliable and cozy place for outdoor recreation. These structures can be of different shapes and sizes. Metal goes well with other building materials, which allows you to implement even the most daring design ideas.
