Installation of a single-circuit gas boiler. How to install a wall-mounted gas boiler? Stages of preparation for the installation of the boiler

Gas is still the cheapest type of fuel. Accordingly, the most cheap heating produced on natural gas. True, the installation of a gas boiler is associated with certain difficulties - the premises must comply with fire safety standards.

A separate room is required for the installation of powerful gas boilers

Gas boiler installation standards

To ensure that there are no troubles when taking the gas boiler into operation, it is necessary to choose the installation site in accordance with current regulations. The installation of a gas boiler in a private house (single-apartment or block) is regulated by SNiP 31-02-2001, and the installation rules in apartment buildings registered in SNiP 2.08.01.

For private houses

According to the norms, a gas boiler can be installed in a ventilated room, which is located:

  • on the first floor of the house;
  • in the basement or basement;
  • in the attic:
  • gas boilers up to 35 kW (according to MDS 41.2-2000 up to 60 kW) can be installed in the kitchen.

With regard to the installation of boilers in the kitchen, two norms are currently in force at once. According to one document, heating devices with a power of no more than 35 kW can be placed, according to another - no more than 60 kW. And we're talking about heaters. gas stoves or other equipment using gas is not taken into account.

What to do? You need to find out what norms are followed in your GorGaz. After all, it is their representatives who will take the equipment into operation. Actually, the designer should tell you all the subtleties, but it is also desirable to know this - you will need to prepare the room for installation.

Where to put

Now about where and how you can have gas equipment different power. We are talking about gas boilers and their power is summarized:

  • with a power of up to 150 kW inclusive - in a separate room on any floor, including the basement and basement;
  • from 151 kW to 350 kW inclusive - in a separate room of the first, basement or ground floor, as well as in a separate attached room.

More powerful installations in private homes are not used.

Requirements for kitchens in which a gas boiler is installed

When placed in the kitchen flow gas water heater or a gas heating boiler with a power of up to 60 kW, the room must meet the following standards:

There is one more thing that is not spelled out in the norms, but which exists: the installation of a gas boiler is only allowed in a room with doors. In light of the latest trends - removing partitions, and instead of doors - this can be a problem. Without a door, permission will not be signed. Exit - put or . Another option is glass doors. They do not "load" the interior, but they are perceived precisely as doors.

All these requirements must be met. With violations, you simply will not sign the act of acceptance.

Requirements for individual rooms

Similar, but there are some differences:

  • Ceiling height - not less than 2.5 m;
  • The volume and area of the premises are determined by the convenience of maintenance, but should not be less than 15 m 3.
  • Walls leading to adjacent rooms must have a fire resistance limit of 0.75 hours and a zero limit for the spread of fire along the structure (brick, concrete, building blocks).
  • The hood with the same requirements: for outflow - a three-fold exchange, for inflow in the same volume, plus air for combustion.
  • The room must have a window. Glass area - not less than 0.03 m 2 per cubic meter of volume.

If the equipment is installed with a power of 150 kW or more, one of the prerequisites is the presence of an exit to the street. A second exit can be equipped - in utility room(not residential). It can be a pantry or a corridor. Doors must be fireproof.

Please note that when calculating windows, the area of glass is considered, and not the size of the window opening. Moreover, in some cases, they require the presence of at least one glass with an area of at least 0.8 square meters. If it is problematic to enlarge the windows, you can make a similar window in the door (the standard does not say that it should be in the wall).

How to attach boiler rooms

Sometimes in the house there is no way to allocate a separate room. In this case, the boiler room is attached. The standards for ceiling height, volume, glazing and ventilation remain the same as for individual rooms, only specific standards are added:

Please note that the extension must be registered. Without official documents on it, no one will carry gas to you. And one more thing: when designing it, lay down all the norms without deviations, otherwise they will not be accepted. If the installation of a gas boiler is planned in an existing room, some deviations may be overlooked or some compensation may be offered (if there is a missing volume or ceiling height, they may be asked to increase the glazing area). For newly built buildings (and extensions too) there are no such discounts: they must include all the standards.

United kitchens

Today it has become fashionable to have or. It turns out a single large space in which it is easy to implement design ideas. But, the gas service regards such a room as residential and prohibits the installation of gas equipment.

It will not be possible to solve the problem with a studio apartment, but there is a way out with a combined one. If you are just planning to combine the kitchen and the living room, when you draw up the documents, call the resulting room the kitchen-dining room. This space is not residential, so there will be no restrictions. If the papers are already issued, you can try to redo them or go the other way - install sliding partition. True, in this case, the alteration of documents will be required.

Place for installation of a gas boiler

Speaking specifically about apartments, they install gas boilers in them for the most part in the kitchens. There are all the necessary communications: water supply, gas, there is a window and an extractor hood. It remains only to determine appropriate place for the boiler. For such an installation, wall-mounted (mounted) boilers are used. They are mounted on several hooks attached to the walls (they usually come with the kit).

As for installation in other rooms of an apartment or house, as a rule, none of them pass the requirements. For example, the bathroom does not have a window with natural light, the corridor usually does not fit in size - there are not enough tolerances from the corners or to the opposite wall, there is usually no ventilation at all or it is not enough. With pantries the same trouble - there is no ventilation and windows, there is not enough volume.

If there are stairs to the second floor in the house, often the owners want to put the boiler under the stairs or in this room. In terms of volume, it usually passes, and ventilation will have to be made very powerful - the volume is considered to be in two levels and it is necessary to ensure its triple exchange. This will require several pipes (three or more) of a very large cross section (at least 200 mm).

After you have decided on the room for the installation of a gas boiler, it remains to find a place for it. It is selected based on the type of boiler (wall or floor) and the requirements of the manufacturer. The data sheet usually details the distances from the wall to the right / left, the installation height relative to the floor and ceiling, as well as the distance from the front surface to the opposite wall. These may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so read the manual carefully.

Installation standards according to SNiP

  • Gas boilers can be installed on fireproof walls at a distance of at least 2 cm from it.
  • If the wall is slow-burning or combustible (wooden, frame, etc.), it must be protected by fireproof material. This may be a three-millimeter sheet of asbestos, on top of which a sheet of metal is fixed. Plastering with a layer of at least 3 cm is also considered as protection. In this case, the boiler must be hung at a distance of 3 cm. The dimensions of the fireproof material must exceed the dimensions of the boiler by 10 cm from the sides and bottom, and from above must be 70 cm more.

Questions may arise regarding the asbestos sheet: today it is recognized as a material hazardous to health. You can replace it with a layer of cardboard from mineral wool. And keep in mind that a fireproof base is also considered ceramic tile, even if it is laid on wooden walls: adhesive layer and ceramic just give the required fire resistance.

The installation of a gas boiler relative to the side walls is also regulated. If the wall is non-combustible, the distance cannot be less than 10 cm. For combustible and slow-burning, this distance is 25 cm (without additional protection).

If a floor standing gas boiler is installed, the base must be non-combustible. A non-combustible stand is made on a wooden floor. It must provide a fire resistance limit of 0.75 hours (45 minutes). These are either bricks laid on a spoon (in 1/4 of a brick), or thick ceramic floor tiles, which is placed on top of an asbestos sheet fixed to metal sheet. The dimensions of the non-combustible base are 10 cm larger than the dimensions of the installed boiler.

Efficiency autonomous heating directly depends on the correctness of the installation work. The gas boiler kit includes instructions that indicate the connection diagram of the unit. Installation of a double-circuit gas boiler must be carried out in full compliance with the requirements of the technical documentation. If you are not sure what you can do correct installation do-it-yourself gas boiler, contact a specialist.

When choosing a place for a gas boiler, you need to take into account all the requirements for the boiler room. If you choose a boiler with a closed type of furnace, then these requirements will become much more loyal. Modern models gas units have such furnaces in their design. Installation of such a boiler is possible even in the kitchen, if its area is at least 12 m2.

Gas boilers are of two types:

  • wall or hanging - mounted on the wall;
  • floor or stationary - installed on a special stand and attached to the floor.

Requirements for installing a gas boiler

Installation of a double-circuit gas boiler should be carried out only on the main walls. All wooden elements must be isolated or removed. The insulation is made of steel sheet with an asbestos layer. The boiler must have free space around and easy access from any side. Installation height at least 800 mm from the floor.

All fasteners for installing the boiler are included with the unit and are designed for the weight of the structure. The use of homemade fasteners is prohibited.

Installation of a stationary boiler is carried out on a concrete screed covered with a steel sheet and heat-insulating material.

Further installation and connection of wall-mounted and stationary boilers is carried out in the same way.

The main requirement for installing a gas unit is a level location. If the boiler has a slope, the heating surface of the boiler will fail. The reason will be the uneven distribution of the coolant, which will cause temperature imbalance and rapid wear of the heat exchanger.

Scheme of piping gas boilers

After completion of installation work, it is necessary to connect the boiler to the heating and water supply system. The piping scheme for a floor heating boiler and a wall-mounted one is exactly the same.

Connecting gas to the boiler without the participation of a specialist is prohibited and subject to a fine. Commissioning of the boiler is also carried out under the control of the gas service.

All other elements can be connected independently. Each boiler has almost the same details for connecting to communications:

  • mesh filter;
  • gas filter;

  • flexible corrugated hose;

  • manometer - a device for measuring pressure;

  • a coaxial chimney is a chimney that is a substitute for a traditional chimney in modern forced draft boilers;

  • a 3 bar safety valve is a mechanical system for automatically discharging the coolant into the atmosphere when the pressure rises to critical values;

  • the expansion tank is designed to compensate for the rise and fall of hydraulic pressure in the heating system;

  • stop valves;

  • automatic air vent is designed to remove air from the heating system.

When connected, all elements look like this:

The most simple system heating and hot water supply when using a gas double-circuit boiler has the same design as traditional systems:

The boiler is a flow-through heating element for hot water supply and a closing link in the heating circuit.

If you need to provide more complex system heating, then a similar scheme can be considered in another example:

The hot water circuit remained unchanged, but additional elements appeared in the heating circuit:

  • the hydraulic arrow is installed immediately after the boiler. This is a simple vertical tank. Its purpose is to ensure constant circulation of water (with a decrease in the flow of coolant to consumers), the removal of air from the heating system, the distribution of coolant with different temperatures, maintaining the temperature difference between the supply and return lines (this is a prerequisite for the normal operation of a gas boiler);
  • distribution manifolds on the direct and return lines are needed to evenly distribute the coolant between consumers;
  • individual circulation pumps for each heating circuit allow you to provide your own temperature regime in all rooms.

Gas double-circuit boilers have affordable price and allow you to provide the room with cheap heating and hot water. The use of a gas unit is possible in a heating system of any complexity.

There is a requirement of the rules: independent connection of the heating unit to the main gas pipeline is strictly prohibited. But the installation and connection of a double-circuit gas boiler to the heating system and to the electrical network of a private house is quite allowed. The main thing is not to make mistakes in the pursuit of savings. We will try to warn you against them.

Installing the boiler correctly

Unlike the installation of solid fuel and electrical units, strict requirements are imposed on the installation and connection of gas heating boilers. The procedure is this:

Clue. When contacting the managing organization, take the technical documentation of the private house and the passport of the purchased heater. The second moment: the employees of the “gas” office will probably tell you a suitable design company.

Hence the conclusion: do-it-yourself installation and connection of a double-circuit boiler should be started at the design stage, when the space in the house is clearly allocated to the heating unit. If it is delivered in violation of the rules, then the specialists of Gorgaz will refuse to connect the main pipe.

Although the design engineer must know all the requirements for the placement and connection of a gas boiler, it will not hurt you to familiarize yourself with the rules:

Note. Kitchen ventilation is provided through the window plus clearance under front door with an area of 0.025 m². Passages on the sides and rear of the heat generator are made if maintenance is necessary, in front - it is necessary to maintain.

When installing a wall-mounted gas boiler on wooden partition a sheet of non-combustible material is laid under the body:

  • roofing steel 0.8-1 mm thick;
  • asbestos 3 mm (unsuitable in the kitchen due to the dust emitted);
  • basalt cardboard;
  • minerite slabs.

Protection should exceed the dimensions of the case by 10 cm, from above - by 700 mm, which is done in the photo.

The distances from the mounted heater to the nearest structures or cabinets are indicated by the manufacturer in the operating instructions, as shown in the diagram. The floor heat generator is installed on a non-combustible base, wooden floor must be protected by a sheet of metal.

The scheme of technological indents is taken from the instructions of the manufacturer of the heat generator

Tying wall models

From the bottom of the gas double-circuit boiler, there are 5 fittings with an external thread, designed to connect the following lines (from left to right):

The location of the nozzles on all suspended units is the same. If you are interested in knowing the reason for installing the fittings in this order, we suggest watching a video on the principle of operation of a double-circuit wall-mounted heat generator:

Important note. Five outlets are far from a sign of a boiler with two circuits. Manufacturers of water heating equipment often supply single-circuit heat generators with additional pipes for connecting an indirect heating boiler, placed in the same order.

To manually connect gas unit to the mains of heat supply and the power supply network of a private house, prepare the following set of products and materials:

  • ball valves with Americans ½ inch in size - 3 pcs.;
  • the same, with a diameter of ¾ "- 4 pcs.;
  • mesh filter for water and coolant (it is also a mud collector) - 2 pcs.;
  • gas filter;
  • expansion tank;
  • pipeline fittings - tees and elbows;
  • three-core electric cable brand VVG with a cross section of 2.5 mm²;
  • automatic two-pole switch with a nominal value of 20 amperes.

This list is recommended for wall-mounted boilers of the poorest configuration equipped with an open combustion chamber. Products of the middle and highest price category, which are mini-boiler rooms, are equipped with their own gas filter and expansion tank.

It is recommended to compare the dimensions of the standard capacity of the heat generator with the amount of coolant in the heating system, guided by. In a situation where the pipeline network is too large and the volume of the tank is insufficient, an additional membrane tank must be installed.

Scheme of connection to the heating system

In reality, tying a dual-circuit heater is not a problem, there are only a couple of nuances that we will consider further. You need to understand one thing: a gas boiler is a reliable product in operation, for the entire period of operation it is unlikely to need to be removed and turned off for repair. Similar situations happen 1-2 times during the service life.

A shut-off valve in front of the heating return filter is needed to clean it without draining the coolant

Hence the conclusion: blocking taps are placed primarily to service the heating system. It is unlikely that you will have to cut off and dismantle the heat generator.

Above is a standard connection diagram for a double-circuit wall-mounted boiler, which is found in each technical data sheet for the product. We expanded it by depicting the wiring and possible consumers. Based on the scheme, perform the strapping, taking into account the recommendations:

  1. Install ½-inch (DN15) valves on gas, cold, and hot water.
  2. Install ¾” (DN20) valves on the heat transfer pipes. The third tap is for emptying/refilling the system.
  3. The fittings are screwed down by the Americans.
  4. Install mudguards at the inlet from the water supply and heating network in a horizontal position with the “nose” down, so it is more convenient to clean them.
  5. Connect the external expansion tank to the return pipeline using additional fittings for cutting off and emptying the tank, as illustrated in the diagram.
  6. Place the drain / make-up pipe with a tap at the lowest point of the system.

Advice. It is much more convenient to pack and screw the valves to the fittings before hanging the boiler on the wall. If "butterflies" or handles interfere with rotation, remove them by unscrewing the nut on the stem. gas valve installed through a dielectric gasket.

Two pairs of valves on the heating pipes allow you to remove the heat generator and not drain the antifreeze

Homeowners who fill the system with non-freezing coolant and want to play it safe are recommended an alternative piping scheme for a dual-circuit heater. Thanks to a pair of taps installed on the supply and return, it is possible to dismantle the boiler and service the system without draining the antifreeze.

The scheme is relevant for two- or three-story buildings with water warm floors and radiator network, where you can not do without additional expansion tank. Our expert Vladimir Sukhorukov will reveal the essence of the issue in more detail in a training video:

Connection to the house electrical network

The requirements for connecting electricity are quite simple - you need line protection in the form circuit breaker and grounding. If there is no powerful equipment in the furnace room, for example, an electric boiler, then it is not necessary to run a separate cable to the switchboard. Briefly, the requirements are as follows:

  1. Place the switch in a safe place where water or coolant will not get in the event of a breakthrough.
  2. The presence of a wire connected to the ground loop is mandatory. If the cord supplied with the boiler does not have a third core, connect the conductor to the steel casing of the heat generator.
  3. Not allowed to use metal pipes heating and plumbing as grounding conductors.
  4. Lay the cable in a protective corrugated sleeve.

Simplified wiring diagram for electrical network country house

For reference. European-made turbocharged boilers are sensitive to correct connection phases. If you confuse the neutral and phase wires, then the electronic control unit will not start the boiler.

In areas with unstable mains voltage, it is better to power the unit through a stabilizer that protects the electronics from burnout. Frequent interruptions in power supply - a reason to purchase and install a unit uninterruptible power supply, otherwise, when you turn off, you risk being left without heat.

Mounting the floor unit

Stationary double-circuit heat generators that burn natural gas are divided into 2 varieties - non-volatile and requiring power supply. The latter are connected to heating and electricity in the same way as the wall-mounted "brothers".

A non-volatile floor-standing boiler heats hot water using a copper or stainless steel coil built into the main heat exchanger. The heater equipment is minimal - a burner, safety automation and a heat exchanger, there is nothing else. In addition to the cranes listed in the previous section, for installation you will need to buy:

  • security group with safety valve, designed for the operating pressure of the heat generator (indicated in the passport);
  • circulation pump;
  • expansion tank of the estimated volume (10% of the total amount of coolant).

Scheme of switching on the heating unit in heating network closed type is shown in the picture.

A few words about how to connect a double-circuit floor boiler to a gravity heating system. This will require an open expansion tank with overflow, and a pump and a safety group are not needed. Pipe diameters - at least 40 mm, laying is carried out with a slope of 5 mm per 1 m. highways. The heater is the lowest point of the system, and the open tank is placed at the highest. If electricity is available, forced circulation can be arranged using.

Integration of a double-circuit heater into a gravity system with the possibility forced circulation from the pump

Double-circuit boiler and indirect heating boiler

This combination began to appear among homeowners who were not satisfied with the operation of the DHW circuit of a gas heat generator. And no wonder, because the average power unit is capable of delivering 10-13 liters of hot water per minute, which is not enough to simultaneously provide two consumers - a sink in the kitchen and a shower.

Another thing is that the purchased indirect heating boiler is connected to a double-circuit boiler in a perverted way, shown in the diagram. The imitation of the flow is created by an additional circulation pump, which is switched on and stopped by a thermostat signal.

This scheme does not work correctly and here's why:

  1. The heating unit issues from the circuit DHW water with a maximum temperature of 60 °C. Passing through the boiler coil, it will never be able to heat its contents (which is 150-200 liters) to the same temperature.
  2. From the boiler heat exchanger, hot water 50-55 ° C instead of cold water enters the second circuit of the boiler. It is instantly heated by a burner, which is switched off by a signal from a temperature sensor. But due to the flow, the switch-on occurs again after a few seconds - there is a “clocking” (start-stop mode), which reduces the resource of the heat generator.
  3. The boiler heats up much longer than the prescribed time - from 40 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the power. During this period, the heating is turned off - the unit is occupied by the DHW circuit (this is mentioned above in the video). The house is cooling down.
  4. IN storage tank harmful bacteria multiply in warm water, - legionella. It is removed by weekly warming up the boiler to maximum temperature which is impossible to achieve.
  5. In order for the indirect heating boiler to be loaded in 20-25 minutes, connect it via correct scheme to the main heating circuit of the gas boiler. Simply turn off the DHW pipes - this will not affect the resource of the heat generator in any way. More information on the topic will be given by the expert in his video:

    Conclusion

    After connecting the double-circuit boiler to heating and power supply, it remains to connect it to the chimney according to the diagram in the operating instructions. More details about the installation of the chimney pipe of the boiler plant are described. The devices, of course, are different, but the requirements for the removal of combustion products are absolutely the same.

In a modern private house, a gas boiler is indispensable. It is simple and safe to operate. Yes, its installation is very time-consuming and expensive, but in the end, a gas boiler is the most cost-effective solution for heating a house and heating water. Compared to electric heaters, it can pay for itself in one winter.

Gas boilers can be single-circuit and double-circuit. Single-circuit are intended only for heating, double-circuit - for heating and water heating. Also, gas boilers differ in power and type of installation.

It's very important to get it right determine the required power equipment. The disadvantages of insufficient power are obvious. Excess power, in addition to the economic component, is also dangerous. Acid condensate is formed in the combustion chamber from frequent temperature changes, which can corrode the metal parts of the boiler.

The power of the boiler is directly dependent on the size of the room. You also need to make allowance for the climatic conditions in which you live. Divide the area of heated premises by 10, and multiply by a factor of 1.2 - 1.5 for the Moscow region, 0.7 - 0.9 for the southern regions, 1.5 - 2 for the northern regions - and you will get the required power. Thus, for a house with an area of 100 square meters, located in the Central region, requires a device with a capacity of at least 12-15 kilowatts.

The power can be adjusted. Low-power boilers have a single-stage power control. Heating devices of average productivity are equipped with two-stage adjustment. High-performance boilers are equipped with modulated power control.

According to the type of installation, wall and floor boilers are distinguished. Each type of installation has its own characteristics. But, no matter what boiler we install, before its direct installation, a number of requirements must be met that are established by certain SNiPs.

For devices that are installed on the territory of the Russian Federation, the requirements are determined by SNiP 41-01-2003 "Heating, ventilation and air conditioning", SNiP 31-01-2003 "Residential and multi-apartment buildings", SNiPOM 42-01-2002"Gas distribution systems" and other governing documents.

Rules for installing gas boilers in a private house

room

Requirements for parts and equipment parts

Gas outlets (or, as they are often called, chimneys)

  1. The passage for the removal of combustion products must be separate from a conventional chimney.
  2. Horizontally, its length in the boiler room should not exceed three meters.
  3. The gas outlet can have no more than 3 elbows.
  4. The diameter of the gas outlet and the power of the boiler must correspond (for power up to 30 kW D=130 mm., for power 40 kW D=140 mm.)
  5. The diameter of the gas outlet must not be less than the diameter of the hole for connecting the gas duct.
  6. The outer end of the gas outlet must be at least half a meter above the roof ridge.

In modern boilers with closed camera combustion are now used so-called coaxial chimneys, which are sold and installed together with the heating device. When installing such boilers, the dimensions of the room are not important, since the combustion air does not come from it, but from the street.

These General requirements may differ slightly in different regions They are constantly being developed and refined. In addition, there are nuances that the gas supply in the house is not central, but bottled. At the same time, the rules and requirements for installing a gas boiler will differ in some features. There is a difference in what material the house is built from, what are the floors. In order to avoid problems at the project approval stage, it is better to invite a specialist and inspect the house in advance for possible shortcomings.

What actions need to be taken for obtaining permits for the installation of a gas boiler:

Agreed project and is a permit for the installation of a gas boiler.

Installation

The installation sequence of the floor boiler

  • The boiler is installed on solid foundation that can bear its weight. To do this, either fill concrete screed or a sheet of galvanized iron is laid on the floor.
  • When placing the machine on a base, make sure that it is exactly parallel to the ground.
  • Connect to the chimney and check the draft.
  • Connect with pipes heating system, while installing a hard water filter (after the outlet line before entering the return line boiler). On both sides of the filter, put shut-off mechanisms (for example, ball valves). Install ball valves on all branch pipes.
  • Double-circuit boiler connect to plumbing. It is better to make a tie-in into the water supply system as close as possible to the entrance of the pipe into the building or to the point of branching of the pipe. It is better to connect the water supply pipe from above, the water return pipe - from below.
  • Connect to the gas pipeline. This can only be done by a master gasman; you cannot make a tie-in yourself.
  • Connect to power supply.

In both installation variants, the system must be filled with water before the first start-up. To do this, the device must be turned off. Water should be drawn very slowly - this is the only way you will get rid of air "bubbles" in the heating system.

It should also be remembered that the installation of any gas equipment cannot be carried out with sub-zero temperature, the temperature should be from 5 to 35 degrees.

Maintenance of gas equipment

Gas appliances should be serviced regularly, at least twice a year. Be sure to do this before you start. heating season. The specialist must check the tightness, condition of the chimney and ventilation system, clean the filters and the burner, replace worn parts.

It is not uncommon that many private houses do not have centralized heating and water supply. For this reason, the owners themselves have to resolve such issues. Wall-mounted gas boilers can come to the rescue. How to correctly install a wall-mounted gas boiler with your own hands? How much does it cost to install a gas boiler?

Today they are presented on the market in a huge number and variety of brands. With their choice of problems should not arise. However, it is worth deciding how to mount the boiler - on your own Or with the help of qualified professionals? The latter option is not bad, but you have to spend extra money as payment to employees.

The room in which the boiler will be located must have a window for ventilation. The door to the room should open outwards. The room must have an area of more than four square meters. The ceiling should be at a mark of two meters or more. Concerning doorway, its width must be at least 800 millimeters. A prerequisite for a boiler room is the presence of a serviceable ventilation duct. Often wall boilers located in utility rooms, kitchens or pantries.

Another important condition is pasting the wall where the unit will hang with non-combustible materials. This action will eliminate the possibility of a fire, which can be caused by sparks on combustible materials. Modern non-combustible products will harmoniously fit into the design of the room without spoiling the interior.

When buying a boiler, you need to get an official certificate, because in the absence of this documentation, registration of heating equipment will become almost impossible. Also, the certificate will allow you to connect the equipment to the gas supply system.

Even when choosing a place for the unit, you need to consider installing an exhaust hood for a gas boiler. Old chimneys can be used, and if they are not available, new chimney pipes will need to be installed. Most often, the exhaust system for combustion products comes with the boiler itself.

Compliance with such rules for installing a gas boiler is vital.

Some tips for installing boilers

One of the most milestones when installing gas heating boilers - their connection to the gas supply system. In order for the regulatory authorities to give permission for it, it is necessary to carry out the installation and installation of the gas boiler strictly in accordance with the recommendations and requirements that the technical passport has. Otherwise, you will have to redo something, if not everything.

When installing the gas boiler "Navien » , as well as the installation of the Immergaz gas boiler, it is important to check whether its power corresponds to the power of the entire heating system. When connecting the boiler to an old heating system, it is imperative to clean and flush all pipes, which will eliminate the possibility of clogging in the near future.

In advance, it is necessary to think over the entire installation scheme of a wall-mounted gas boiler. It should provide for water treatment to supply the hot water system. The inlet to the unit must be equipped with a cleaning and metal-catching magnetic filter.

One of the worst enemies of a gas boiler, and of the entire heating system, is corrosion. Therefore, in order to avoid its occurrence, it is better to start installing a closed circuit, which will prevent air from freely entering the system.

Installation rules

  1. The wall-mounted gas boiler must be attached to a load-bearing or main wall.
  2. During the installation of the Ariston gas boiler, you need to ensure that the hood and chimney are proportionate.
  3. The unit must be easily accessible to allow timely Maintenance and free to make replacement parts in case of breakage.
  4. If the boiler is installed inside the cabinet, it is necessary to provide a five-centimeter indent from the cabinet partition above the equipment. This free space will make the nodes in the upper part accessible, so that any maintenance work will become possible.

Boiler installation technology

Before directly installing gas equipment, you need to deal with the chimney hole.

It will be much more convenient to install if you use a special cardboard template. With its help, marks are easily and effortlessly made for all fasteners and the chimney. When the place for the boiler is finally chosen, the template should be attached to the wall. It must have points of fastening lines and places where the wires will connect. These important marks should be transferred to the wall with a marker or colored pencil. The template can then be removed.

The next step is to drill holes for the dowels. To do this, choose a drill that has the desired diameter. Each dowel must be selected according to the material and thickness of the wall. After the holes are ready, metal corners are attached to the wall.

Then you need to remove top cover unit. Now you can safely hook the equipment to hanging corners on the wall. Before installing the brackets, make sure that all chimney fittings are the right size exactly according to the instructions, otherwise there will be problems later. The bracket to which the gas boiler is attached must itself be very securely fixed to the wall. This is the most important point.

It is important to remember that, depending on the type of wall, there are various ways mounts. Exist different types mounting installations, each of which is designed to install a certain type of unit and type of load.

During installation, it is important to ensure that debris does not get inside the fan. The branch pipe, through which combustion products will be removed, must recede from the wall surface by at least two centimeters.

Boiler mounting tools

Before installing the wall-mounted unit, you should acquire in advance:

  • screwdrivers,
  • fasteners,
  • glue,
  • tow,
  • wrenches,
  • drill,
  • gloves
  • threaded socket,
  • non-combustible finishing material.

First you need to turn off the water supply using the valve. After that, you can connect the boiler and the pipeline using a threaded coupling. To achieve the most dense fixation, it is imperative to use tow. Connect the unit first from the end side. The hot water supply is connected to the top pipe of the unit, and the return is connected to the bottom pipe.

The junction box of the unit must be connected to the power supply cable, and a safety contact outlet must be provided from the switch.

Thanks to the cable, power is supplied to a powerful boiler, and therefore each fuse must not exceed three Amperes in power, or the fuse must have a rating less than the current rating required for the boiler to be used efficiently. At the end of this type of work, you need to connect the gas equipment to a reliable ground.

As you can see, installing a gas boiler on your own is quite feasible in the shortest possible time without extra costs time, effort and resources. Do-it-yourself installation of a wall-mounted gas boiler on the video can be studied in more detail. For example, the most frequent questions were regarding the installation of the Danko gas boiler, which is gaining popularity.

The cost of installing a gas boiler is much lower than the price of calling specialists. In addition, the work is carried out quickly, and the skills gained during installation will still be useful in the future.
