Do-it-yourself frame garage - from foundation to finishing. Do-it-yourself frame garage Do-it-yourself garage for a truck

The use of frame technology will significantly reduce the cost of building a garage. After all, the small mass of the building reduces the requirements for the foundation, and the use of boards and oriented strand boards (OSB) as the main building material reduces delivery costs. After all, you can bring boards and OSB to small car with a small carrying capacity, and to deliver bricks, sand and cement in the right quantities, a serious truck and a crane with a lifting capacity of at least 2 tons will be required. In this article, we will tell you about how to build a frame garage with your own hands from choosing a site and creating a project to roofing and connecting communications.

Choosing a place for a garage

An ideal place for a garage would be a platform on a hillock near the house. The hillock will protect the garage, the inspection hole and the car from the water that has risen during a heavy downpour. If there is no such site near the house, then you will have to choose a place, focusing on proximity to the road and elevation relative to ground level. Never build a garage in hollows and depressions, otherwise even a little rain will cause the water level in it to rise. It is desirable that a 220 or 380 volt line pass next to the garage, this will facilitate construction and equip the garage with electric heating.

Create a project

The creation of a garage construction project has the following goals:

  • determination of the sequence of construction stages;
  • determining the course of action during each stage;
  • determining the amount of materials needed to build a garage.

If you are drafting a project yourself, then you will have to carefully consider the entire process of building a garage, from the supply and storage of material to the length and order of installation of frame boards. It helps a lot in this drawing, with strict adherence to scale. With it, you can determine the dimensions of the garage, best ways stiffening the structure, the length of the load-bearing boards and the number of fasteners. There are many different programs (for example, AutoCAD) that facilitate the design of any structure, but they all require a certain amount of experience. Therefore, it is easier to get by with a paper drawing and an explanatory note to it. Or use the services of professional design engineers or builders. In this case, the project will take into account various little things that an unprepared person does not even know about. For example, the choice of wood by moisture, the choice of boards by width, the features of construction from raw board, the order of assembly of the frame of the walls and so on.

Material selection

Most often, garages are built from unplaned boards with a moisture content of 12–14%, but lumber is also often used. natural humidity. The latter will cost a little less, but a garage made of such boards cannot be sheathed for finishing in the first year, which leads to an overrun of the material. That's why experienced builders use only well-dried boards.

As load-bearing elements use a bar with a section of 100x100 mm or a board with a section of 50x250 mm. As an internal frame of the walls, a board with a section of 25x100 mm is used. For insulation, foam plastic or mineral wool up to 5 cm thick is used, and in cold regions up to 10 cm. For external cladding, waterproof OSB 15–20 mm thick, wagon board or metal corrugated board are used. For inner lining use fiberboard, plywood 5-10 mm thick or the same OSB thickness. This combination of materials allows you to create a durable and inexpensive garage.

Foundation construction

Having drawn up a project or drawing and tying it to the area, bring in all necessary materials to create a foundation. When creating the foundation, keep in mind that the inspection hole significantly increases the functionality of the garage, allowing not only to store, but also to service and repair the car. If you don’t need a viewing hole, then you can choose and build a foundation using the information from the articles Which foundation is best for a house made of timber - calculation features and Attaching a timber to different types of foundation.

If you decide to build a pit, then the technology for creating the foundation will have to be changed by digging a foundation pit under it. Determine the depth of the pit based on your height and needs. You can make a lying pit, equipping it with a cart, you can make a sitting or standing pit. The only difference is in height and in the fact that in a standing pit you can perform any kind of work, in a sitting pit you cannot normally remove the engine and gearbox, and a lying pit is suitable only for minor car maintenance. Here are the approximate depths of the pit and the pit for it:

  • recumbent 50/80 cm;
  • seated 130/170 cm;
  • standing 170/210 cm.

For concreting the pit, use the same technology as for pouring concrete grillage. In the pit, you can provide niches for the tool. The width of the finished pit should be 5-10 cm less than the distance between inside wheels of one axle. On the surface of the pit, fix corners or steel pipes that will not allow the car to fall into it.

If you are going to bet iron gate, then provide fasteners for them. Depending on the gate model, it can be either 2 vertical poles with fasteners (canopies), or 4-6 poles. If you are going to install rolling shutters, then you can use wooden walls and ceiling.

Delivery and storage of material

Having prepared the foundation and letting it stand, bring in the boards. The frame structure allows the use of boards of natural moisture, but you must understand that by saving on them, you will seriously lose on construction time. After all, it will not be possible to sheathe the garage for finishing due to the very large shrinkage of the board of natural humidity. Therefore, it is desirable to purchase a dried board with a moisture content of 12-14%. To store such a board, you will need a canopy that is protected from the rain. It can be made from wooden bars or aluminum tubes and polyethylene. Be sure to provide ventilation boards under a canopy.

First you need to assemble the side walls on the ground. To do this, in accordance with the project, cut the vertical, horizontal and diagonal elements, and then proceed with the assembly. You can perform this operation yourself. To fasten the boards to each other, use metal corners and powerful self-tapping screws. These accessories are sold in most construction stores. Be sure to check the corners of the edge boards, because the shape of the garage depends on them. The optimal distance between vertical boards is 70-100 cm, and between horizontal 120-150 cm. Special attention pay attention to the mounting holes, because even a small mistake will lead to the fact that you will not be able to install the wall in place the first time.

The installation of the wall must be carried out by two or three people, and if the length of the wall is more than 6 meters, or the height is more than 3 meters, then you will either have to call more people or use a crane.

If you can't gather more than two people or use a crane, then first assemble a box for each wall, consisting of two vertical and two horizontal boards. You can install such a box by two people. Install both side boxes, then connect them with vertical boards to form the back box. Then assemble the front box. Now you can install portable small-sized scaffolding and fill all the boxes with vertical and horizontal boards. Remember, vertical boards can only be cut if you plan to install a window. In all other cases, they must be integer. But cut the horizontal boards based on the distance between the vertical boards. Connect the entire structure using corners and self-tapping screws. Do not forget to install diagonal boards in every fifth cell.

Roof installation

If possible, invite an experienced carpenter or roofer to create a roof, because within one article you can only give general principles this work. First install the boards (logs) of the ceiling at a distance of 80–140 cm from each other. If you plan to use the attic as a pantry, then the distance must be reduced, otherwise increase. To install a log in them and the upper horizontal boards of the frame, cut holes whose width is equal to the thickness of the board, and the depth is equal to half the width of the board. Thanks to this, the logs will become flush with the upper edge of the frame. The lags should protrude sideways by 50-60 centimeters. After installing the roof rafters, you use a disk or chain saw cut them to the required length.

If you work together and there is no way to call for help, then instead of the lag you will have to install complex structure(triangle), which includes logs, rafters and vertical supports. In this case, you can do without cuts in the boards and put these triangles directly on the frame, which will greatly facilitate installation. After that, install a vertical board that connects the upper parts of the triangles, as well as a bottom board that connects the lower parts to each other. Be sure to install at least 2 (preferably 4) diagonal braces to protect the roof from strong winds.

Sheathing and insulation

For sheathing, use corrugated board. Start sheathing from the bottom, laying the sheets with an overlap, so that during rain the water will drain without getting inside. When sheathing a garage with a wagon board or its analogues, lay the board horizontally, so it will look more beautiful. If you decide to sheathe the OSB garage, then the sheets will need to be adjusted so tightly and clearly that the gap between them in any place does not exceed 0.5 mm, and after the sheathing is completed, the joints must be covered with a mixture of PVA and fine wood dust.

Lastly, sheathe the roof, do not forget to install gutters. It is desirable that the roof metal profile protrudes 30-40 cm beyond the walls, this will increase the protection of the walls from water. Finished with outer skin, proceed with the insulation, for this, place pieces of foam plastic cut to size or mineral wool, then sew them up with plywood or OSB. Fiberboard can also be used, but its strength is insufficient, so the material will quickly become scratched. To insulate the attic, it is enough to lay the insulating material in the cells formed by the lags, this is several times easier than insulating the roof along the rafters.

Gate installation

If you are installing metal gate, then the loops on them must fully correspond to the loops on the supporting elements. For the installation of roller shutters, you need to invite a specialist. Therefore, the best choice for a frame garage is a wagon board gate. Even the most modern steel gates will not help against car theft, so their function is rather decorative. Most beautiful garage it turns out if you sheathe it with a wagon board and make a gate out of it, reinforcing each leaf from the inside with two horizontal and one diagonal board. Decorative hinges (canopies), which are sold in hardware stores, will add a special touch to the garage.

Power supply and heating

If it is possible to connect the garage to the power supply line, then be sure to get the technical conditions and install the meter in accordance with them. This will save you from problems with the electricity supplier. For heating insulated garages, wall-mounted infrared heaters are the most effective. electric heaters. For heaters, be sure to install a separate circuit breaker and temperature controller.

If you want to build a garage for yourself quickly, inexpensively and without the use of heavy equipment, then a wooden garage with your own hands is your choice. The material has an affordable cost, has a lot of advantages and is able to serve quite a long service. But, for this you need to adhere to the construction technology. The tree must be treated with protective equipment.

What's next? You will learn the details from this article. We'll show you how to make your own wooden building as a garage. You will see a diagram, photos and videos that will help you with your work.

Choosing a construction method

There are two main technologies for building a wooden garage. They are significantly different from each other. What are these technologies?

  1. Timber garage construction.
  2. construction frame structure from OSB boards or plywood.

What are the differences between these technologies? In short, round logs will cost you more, but a wooden garage will last longer. What about frame version, it is faster and cheaper, but not as reliable. However, most often choose the second option. Frame structures perfectly cope with their task, and you can finish the building with any material. More practical in terms of frame technology construction. You can see the frame wooden garages in the photos that are attached.

Wooden garage building great option. The tree is 100% environmentally friendly, able to "breathe", has excellent thermal characteristics, and is also able to last for a long time. We are not talking about accessibility and ease of working with it. Since building a frame structure is a popular option, let's find out how you can build a wooden garage that will measure 6x4m.

Garage building 6×4

So, we will consider the technology of building a standard garage, the size of which will be 6 × 4 m, and the height is 3 m. The wooden gate for the garage will be made 2.8 × 2.5 m in size. As for the foundation, it will be monolithic, in the form reinforced slab. The frame of the building is made of bars 100 × 100 mm. Sheathing is made of OSB boards. Now let's take a closer look at all the stages of construction.

Preparing the base for the garage

When you have all the necessary drawings, a building plan and materials for its construction, you can start preparing for construction. First you need to know exactly where on the site your garage will be located. Then, it is important to pay special attention to this place:

  • remove all rubbish;
  • clear the space of bushes, trees and extraneous buildings;
  • remove the fertile layer of soil.

After all the steps are done, you can begin to work on the foundation for your wooden garage.

Foundation device

Advantage wooden structures that they are light. So it turns out that for their construction it is not necessary to deepen the foundation much and make it especially stable. You need to make a monolithic slab foundation shallow recess. The algorithm of actions is as follows:

It remains to wait until the base dries. This will take at least a month.

Note! To reduce the cost of construction and make construction much faster, you can use a columnar foundation. Since the design of the 6×4 garage is not heavy, it will do the job quite well.

Building a garage frame

We mentioned that the frame of the wooden garage will be made of bars, with a section of 100 × 100 mm. This is quite enough for the reliability of the building. What will the finished frame consist of?

Here are the main elements you need to know:

  • lower harness (crowns);
  • vertical racks;
  • struts to strengthen the frame;
  • top harness.

First of all, bars are laid on the foundation, acting as the lower trim.

Advice! Before laying them, it is worth waterproofing the foundation with roofing felt or other material.

The lower trim is fixed to the concrete with anchors. Between themselves, the bars are also fastened. When the bottom trim is ready, proceed with the installation uprights on the corners.

Fixation of vertical racks occurs by means of metal corners on both sides. And in order to give the structure additional rigidity and reliability, corner slopes are mounted, as shown in the figure.

Please note that the corner cuts are placed on the inside of the frame. This is done so that there is free space for sheathing our wooden garage with OSB boards.

When all the corner supports are installed, you can make the top trim. It is done in the same way as the one below. Everything is securely fastened with metal corners and jibs. When you have built the main structure, additional racks are installed around the perimeter for structural rigidity. After all, the size of the garage is 6 × 4 m, so you can’t do without them. The photo shows how you can attach additional supports.

Advice! If you want to give the structure even more rigidity, you can make transverse stiffeners. Then fixing the OSB will be even easier and more reliable.

We sheathe the OSB frame

Now it remains to sheathe the finished structure with OSB boards. This best option. From the outside, they are protected from wind and bad weather by a membrane and finishing material. To make the garage warm, you can use a heater. Then the walls will resemble a sandwich. After sheathing the garage along the perimeter with OSB boards, polystyrene foam, mineral wool or other insulation is placed in the space between the uprights. Everything is sheathed with a vapor barrier film, after which it is sewn up either with the same OSB boards, or with other finishing material.

How exactly is the process of sheathing the frame using OSB boards, you can see from this video.

However, OSB is not the only plating option. For this purpose, you can use other materials, such as lining, wooden boards, siding, corrugated board, etc. No one limits you here, decide for yourself.

Roof device

As for the roof, it can be of two types: gable or shed. Her device will require rafter system and lining material. It all comes down to the fact that in the strapping that the corresponding grooves are made on top, to which the rafters will be mounted. Bars with a section of 40 × 100 mm can be used as rafters. In the photo you can see a flat version of the roof.

Next, a crate is made and fit roofing material. Most often used for garage shingles, corrugated board, metal tile, slate or ondulin. What material to give preference to is a purely personal matter.

Summing up

We can say with confidence that your wooden garage is almost ready. It remains only to do the floor, which can be done in different ways. Since you have a monolithic slab foundation, it is better to protect the concrete. It can be painted or tiled. What remains to be done in the end wooden gate, install them in their place and check the closing and opening. To prevent your garage from being broken into by intruders, take care of high-quality locks. From so quickly and easily, you can build a wooden garage on your site yourself. It will serve for a long time, fully performing all the tasks.

A car is not just a means of transportation, for its owner it is a reliable friend, a favorite toy and even a soul mate.

They are lovingly cared for necessary details, care products, arrange regular washes, technical inspections for them, and, of course, how to do without a house for him, i.e. garage.

If you are on a tight budget, you can afford to buy a ready-made garage or hire professionals to build, but the best and most reliable option is to do it yourself.

Permits

Garage made on your own, without paperwork is considered an illegal structure (self-construction). On the land for construction, there must also be appropriate documents.

But, in some cases, permits for the construction are not required:

  • if this is not a capital building, but the construction of a frame garage;
  • if it is not a commercial project;
  • if it is an auxiliary building.

All other building options land plot must be legalized through documentation.

Varieties of garages

Garages vary depending on the financial solvency of the owner, personal tastes and building site. The garage can be attached to the house or made instead of the ground floor, or directly under the house.

The garage structure built instead of the first floor, the so-called built-in garage, is not very convenient. Nowadays, you can purchase structures that are assembled and disassembled, like a designer. Or arrange a hanging structure in the yard.

The pricing policy of this option of garage construction is quite acceptable. And the structure itself is simple and unreliable.

The most common types of garages are separate structures located near the entrance to the site, in order to save precious square meters.

In this case, the garage door must face the street part. These structures can be of a capital nature, built of brick with a roof, auxiliary - in the form of a household building, or a prefabricated metal structure.

Construction of a garage on the site

Finally, the hot time has come to start construction, which will give you enough troublesome and pleasant moments, as well as good financial savings.

In the photo of building a garage on your own, you will see all the delights of such a construction. But the result will undoubtedly be pleasant!

Project documentation

To start any construction project is required, and the construction of the garage was no exception. This does not need a bunch of garage drawings at all, but for a reliable and capital construction some outline and description required.

At the beginning of the design, it is worth deciding on some details:

Note!

  • For what purposes it will be used: to shelter the car, as a repair shop, whether a pit is needed to inspect the car. Write down your preferences on paper.
  • The dimensions of the garage, which depend on its intended use, the characteristics of the site and the size of the building area.

For a garage, a size of 3x6 is suitable, of course, if you are not the owner of a large SUV such as a hummer. An ordinary car will easily fit in such an area, and there will be space on the sides for the free opening of doors and passage and in front for parking.

The optimal garage height for a car entry will be 150-190 cm, and the ideal one is 200-250 cm. If you still have an SUV, the dimensions of the garage should be made larger.

If you want to organize a cellar or a bench, the area of \u200b\u200bthe garage will also have to be increased. And no one will argue, because it should have a place for repair and maintenance of the machine, a place to place tools and fixtures, to store parts.

When constructing a building for two cars, think carefully about the details and take into account all dimensions when calculating the total area of \u200b\u200bthe garage.

Location

When choosing a place, it is necessary to take into account the location of all existing buildings, norms fire safety And sanitary requirements. Consider the entrance as well.

Note!

It is convenient to arrange a garage along all buildings or inside the site in order to open doors the cars did not create obstacles, no closer than 1 m from the neighbors, so that the water from the roof during the rain would not flood their land.

When determining the location of the entrance to the garage, do not forget that the distance to neighboring windows must be at least 10 m.

According to fire safety requirements, the garage must be located at least 9 m from the house and at least 15 m from polymer buildings.

First, determine the location of the corner of the garage and the location of its shelter in relation to this point.

Necessary materials

Usually, to build a garage on their own, they use:

Note!

  • brick is the most popular and reliable material;
  • reinforced concrete, used for collapsible garage options;
  • slag concrete, inferior in price and reliability to brick, but makes the work laborious;
  • metal, for quick construction of the structure and affordable option;
  • wood, not suitable for building a garage.

Ground preparation and foundation laying

Work on preparing the site for building is carried out with a shovel. A trench 40 cm wide is dug under the foundation. The depth of the trench depends on the climate of your region, but generally up to 1 m.

The bottom of the trench should be lightly tamped, the walls should be leveled with a shovel. There are a lot of varieties of the foundation, but in our case it will be a rubble-concrete option, simple and inexpensive.

It is easy to make it: rubble stone is laid in layers in a trench, and cement mortar is poured between them, and so on to the top of the trench.

You can make the solution yourself: mix cement 400 in the amount of 1 bucket with 2.5 buckets of sand, about 1 bucket of water.

Basement construction

Formwork is installed along the entire length of the trench using 10 cm wide boards. In an uneven area, the horizon is marked from the highest point plus 10 cm to the basement level.

Do not forget about multi-layer roofing felt waterproofing so that the walls of the building are not saturated with moisture. Before you start laying the walls, you need to install the gate to secure them as the walls are built.

Gates

The most important thing in choosing a gate is its reliability and ease of use. They can be hinged, sectional, in the form of roller shutters and lifting and turning, opening automatically or mechanically.

In the modern world, the automatic version of the gate is increasingly preferred. During a power outage, it is worth considering a mechanical opening option.

Walling

When the gate is already installed, you can go to the main masonry. The cinder block is laid in a chain way from the corners. Further, a fishing line is stretched between them and the entire rest of the cinder block is laid. Gradually, the corners rise and the laying is repeated.

Using a plumb line, control the evenness of the walls vertically, especially the corners. The level is their horizontality. Do not forget about the slope for water flow. To do this, make the ends of the garage different in height with a cut of the top of the side wall under a slope.

The solution is made at the rate of: 1 bucket of cement (grade 400) per 4.5 buckets of sand with the addition of water to a thick state. For greater plasticity, add clay or lime.

roof construction

Covers are made from metal beams 10-12 cm high with lining made of wooden planks. They are perfect for covering a garage with a width of no more than 6 m, while the length of the beams will be 20-25 cm longer.

Step-by-step instructions for laying floors and roofs can be found on the Internet on sites about construction work or get expert advice.

Construction of the floor and blind area

As a standard, a concrete floor is made in the garage 8-10 cm thick on the same level as the plinth edge. The ground before this is well leveled. Pour concrete using tensioned cords to obtain a level surface.

On the outside of the garage, a blind area 0.5 m wide is constructed with a slight slope to drain water.

Other improvements

The garage does not need decor, it is enough to grout the walls with a cement solution, apply plaster and whitewash.

You can insulate the walls with foam, in case of severe cold, you will need to use heaters. Optimum temperature for the garage 5-6 degrees.

The presence of ventilation in the garage is mandatory in order to remove various chemical odors and exhaust gases from the premises.

To do this, install either purchased ventilation systems, or arrange natural air exchange through the deflector and supply grilles.

A viewing hole is a necessary component of the garage. It contributes to convenient maintenance and repair of the car.

The entrance to the garage, as a rule, is included in the project, taking into account all sorts of nuances: the type of coverage, the style of the shelter, soil features, the presence of underground sources, local geology. But the main thing is convenience, hardness and evenness of the surface.

For a more detailed study of the construction process of all the constituent parts of the garage, it is recommended to watch the video material, and you can safely start building!

Brick is expensive, but Lately he is not in demand, and not only because of the high cost. Yes, the brick looks beautiful, has excellent characteristics, but construction takes too much time. Another thing - alternative materials:

Here are the three main building materials used economical builders. Let's explore the details technologies building a garage cheaply and reliably.

from wood

Perhaps, wood- this is the best option, because here, like in no other option, they successfully combine external aesthetics, environmental friendliness, profitability and ease of construction. But working with wood has its own nuances.

Please note that there are two ways to build: from round logs And frame technology. The first is more reliable, the second is cheaper. Choose the most suitable option for you.

Technology

How to build a garage cheaply with your own hands from wood? Preparatory stage consists in choosing the location of the future structure and its model. Garages are free standing or attached to the building. The types of gate opening are also multivariate. All of these points must be in advance.

After drawing up a plan and layout, the construction site is leveled, cleaned, and rammed. The site must be perfectly flat so that after that there are no kinks and distortions.

The site is ready, it's time to start the most important part of our construction - pouring the foundation. Along the perimeter of the future development, a trench is dug, on which formwork is installed. Definitely a must do pillow from several layers of sand and gravel, which is carefully compacted.

The base is reinforced with metal rods and poured with concrete. Now you need to let the foundation stand at least three weeks. When the foundation is ready, we proceed to the lower strapping, which is carried out from the board 50x100 mm.

ATTENTION: Be aware of the wood's tendency to absorb moisture and rot. Therefore, pre-process building boards antiseptic.

For corner posts and gate leaves, it is best to take timber, while other frame elements are made of boards 50x100 mm. Fulfilling bottom harness, maintain an interval of no more than 120 cm.

Also, if you want your garage to be as durable, strong, solid and last as long as possible, install braces at the corners. This will give the structure more stability.

The hardest part of the job is foundation pouring And frame erection. For the frame, stronger, thicker boards are needed, while for the arrangement you can already use a 25x100 mm board, even simple lining. The board is then sheathed with any finishing material, after which it is necessary to carry out hydro- and vapor barriers by laying several layers of polyethylene or polypropylene film.

As you can see, the garage itself is cheap wood not that hard to build.

cinder block

Second most popular building material for the garage is cinder block. To date, cinder blocks are of several types:

  • from blast-furnace slag, which is famous for its excellent performance and durability;
  • shell rock;
  • brick fight.

To improve performance, some manufacturers add more perlite, polystyrene and other materials.

The cinder block is good for everyone, but there is one in it flaw: like a tree, he absorbs moisture, which is rapidly destroyed. With dry soil, this quality of the material will not be problematic, and with proper construction it will last up to fifty years, but in places where ground water , it is better to choose another material, because, if the tree can still be varnished, carry out such manipulations with a cinder block it is forbidden.

ATTENTION: You need to know that cinder blocks are divided into types not only by composition, but also by configuration into hollow ones, which are used for walls, and solid ones, intended for the foundation. Ignoring this feature can lead to the rapid destruction of the entire structure.

Technology

In the construction of a garage cinder block, we also carry out preparatory work, clearing and leveling the site, developing a plan for the future structure.

A flood foundation is ideal for a tree, but cinder blocks do not need such a powerful support, it will do here. The strip foundation is done as follows: removed upper layer soil and dig a trench with a depth of about 45-50 cm, a width of 40-45 cm. Then a pillow is made of sand and broken brick which is then filled with cement.

You can also do it differently: the trench is covered with sand, and then filled with water. The combination of water and sand gives the construction strength and makes it resistant to time and changes in temperature and humidity. After that, reinforcement is laid on the bottom and the entire structure is concreted.

In a month, you can start building walls. The third way of building strip foundation even easier: rubble stone is poured into the trench instead of sand and the entire structure is poured with cement raster, not lower than 150 marks.

After the foundation has been erected, the basement is equipped with heat and vapor barrier materials. by the most universal option hydro, heat and vapor barrier is simple ruberoid.

  • walling;
  • floor screed;
  • roofing;
  • hanging gate.

cinder block masonry identical with bricklaying, only here this work is carried out several times faster. Laying can be carried out in the stone floor (spoon method) or in one stone (poke method).

Masonry in 2 and 1.5 stones is also practiced. You choose the option that suits you, remembering that the thickness of the walls directly affects the durability of the garage and its ability to withstand sudden changes in temperature. A one-stone garage will freeze in winter, even if several heaters are installed in it, while one and a half and two stones will be warm and cozy.

When building walls, you should initially lay out the corners, and only then, stretching the building cords between them, start laying blocks using the brick method, that is, blocking the seam of the previous row.

When constructing the floor, remember that the screed must be at least 10 cm. Concrete is good for screed M200, which is poured in several layers, and then, after drying, rubbed.
The final stage - electrification And interior decoration.

Decking

How easy is it to build a garage? For this fit universal material corrugated board. It is perfect for fences, for sheds, it also makes good garages. But here essential condition is a competent choice of corrugated board: only cheaper for building a garage brand PS or WITH.

Decking is marked with a letter and a number. Letter "WITH" stands for "purpose for walls", number - sheet stiffness. The higher the number, the stronger the sheet. S-20- the best option for construction.

Sometimes sellers, due to their illiteracy or when there is no twenty in stock, advise ten or eight for construction, but! Never fall for this sales trick! A garage made of such a sheet, although it will cost much less, will not last long, besides, it will be icy in winter, and it will be impossible to warm it up. And the walls will shake from the wind. You need it? We think not, therefore, we stop at the standard twenty.

Ideal deck thickness half a millimeter.

Technology

How to build a cheap garage with your own hands from corrugated board? We will need:

  • reinforcement and concrete for the foundation;
  • elements for the frame: corner, bars, metal rods;
  • metal elements for gates;
  • self-tapping screws.

Arm yourself next tool:

  1. screwdriver;
  2. welding machine;
  3. Bulgarian;
  4. metal scissors;

Let's get to work. First of all, we fill. Having cut off the soil by half a meter, the resulting trench is covered with sand and poured with water. Under the frame racks, wells are made, which will simultaneously become foundation racks.

This work will help to make the foundation stronger and more resistant to ground movement. Wells are driven to a depth of at least half a meter.

Further, everything is standard: a wooden formwork is erected, on which the bars of the reinforcing structure are installed. For strength, the rods are attached with wire. Now the main thing is not to forget to install frame structure racks in the wells.

IMPORTANT: Before installing racks, it is necessary to process bitumen underground part of the building.

To prevent the racks from warping, they are carefully aligned with level. Final stage work - pouring concrete reinforcement. Use mark 300, for this case, this is an ideal option.

Some builders claim that it is possible to build within two or three days after pouring concrete, but professionals advise to wait for the required three weeks, otherwise the foundation may crack, and then it will no longer be possible to correct the error. Patience and again patience is the key to success.

When the foundation is ready, erect metal carcass . Both welding and a grinder with a jigsaw for cutting are useful here. metal pipes right size, and some more welding skills. With the basic skills of a welder, the frame is cooked in a day or two. The newcomer is transported for a week. In order to make a frame, you need to carefully study the drawing several times and cut the material according to its data.

Using welding, we cook horizontal metal rods to the racks. Welding in progress at three points. If the frame is made of timber, then in addition to everything, they are welded to the racks special mounts for wooden beams. The bars are attached with self-tapping screws.

Now the corrugated board is attached self-tapping screws. You can adjust the sheets to size using a jigsaw. This work is best done team out of three or four people, it is almost impossible to cope with it alone.

When the frame is completed, the installation phase of the gate begins. Here you also need to show patience and maximum attention in order to avoid mistakes. The frame of the gate is made of metal corners and sheathed with a profiled sheet. This job can be done in a day or two.

As a rule, it is performed in a single-sided version. The roof frame is made of crossbeams (wooden or metal), on which a crate from a lining is attached. It is important to take into account the climatic features of your region.

In the southern regions, a lightweight construction of the crate can be used. In the north, where the winter period with blizzards and snow drifts is long enough, it is better to make a stronger, more solid structure that can withstand the load of snow.

We have described the main stages of construction technology. Now it's your turn to choose what cheaper build a garage with your own hands for your swallow. And we only have to wish you good luck and a peaceful sky over your head!

Cinder block - relatively inexpensive material with excellent performance and properties. If desired, you can build a wonderful garage from it without involving third-party workers for this. How? Let's tell now!

Preparatory activities

Self-construction of a cinder block garage begins with a number of important preparatory activities. Follow the given sequence.

Location selection

First of all, we choose appropriate place for the construction of our caravan. It is convenient when the garage is located next to the house - in bad weather you don’t have to get wet in the rain and wade through snowdrifts.

It is better that the garage is located at a minimum distance from the exit from the site. The number of turns should be minimal. It is not recommended to build a cinder block garage in a lowland, because. this threatens with flooding by atmospheric and ground waters.

Be sure to make sure that there are no communication lines in the place of the planned construction, such as:

  • plumbing;
  • power lines;
  • sewerage and heating pipes.

If the listed communications break down in the future, the presence of a garage will significantly complicate their repair.

Make sure that when building a garage on the chosen site, there will be enough space for opening the gate. It will be useful to have a free place to park the car for the time of washing and other work.

Construction site marking

Having chosen a suitable place for building a garage from, we proceed to marking the site. At this stage, you will need a small set of auxiliary tools, namely:

  • reinforcing bars or other similar devices;
  • hammer for driving rods;
  • dense thread for pulling between the pegs;
  • measuring tape.

Before proceeding with the marking work, it is necessary to accurately determine the dimensions of the future structure. At this point, focus on the following factors:

  • available free space on the site;
  • financial opportunities;
  • individual preferences and needs.

If the cinder block garage will be used as a place to store a passenger car standard size, a building with dimensions of 6x4 m and a height of 2.5-3 m is quite enough for you.

The six-meter length is due to the dimensions of the car (on average 4-5 m) with a half-meter margin for unhindered passage. The width of the machine is on average 200-250 cm. Approximately 70 cm must be left for passage, racking and storage different kind materials used in the garage.

If you wish, you can adjust the size of the building at your discretion. There are no strict restrictions and standard dimensions for cinder block garages.

cinder block calculation

Choosing a place for construction and determining optimal dimensions garage, proceed to the calculation of materials. Treat this stage of work with maximum responsibility. Due to errors at the stage of calculations, you may simply not have enough materials, or you may waste money on unnecessary blocks.

The calculation will be considered using the example of a garage with dimensions of 6x4 m and a height of 250 cm. Masonry is carried out according to the most common method for the method - in half a block. Gate dimensions - 300x230 cm.

The dimensions of one block are standardized - 39x19x18.8 cm. Based on this, 13.6 blocks will go to laying 1 m2. You will lay out the entire building from 586 elements. Usually about 5-10% of the material is added "for stock". If the design provides for additional doors and window openings take this into account when doing the calculation.

You will also need to buy rubble stone for arranging the base, several beams made of metal or wood (in the case of a garage of the indicated dimensions, five 430 cm x beams will be enough).

Do not forget to buy for pouring the foundation or components (cement, sand and gravel) for its self-preparation.

You will also need finishing material. When choosing it, be guided by your preferences.

Buy concrete or make your own. Standard proportions:

Step by step guide to building a garage

Getting Started independent construction cinder block garage.

The first stage is the foundation

We start with the arrangement of the foundation. The cinder block structure will have a relatively small weight. A shallow tape base is enough.

We dig a trench in accordance with the markup. Ideally, the depth of the structure should exceed the level of soil freezing. Most often they are deepened by 60-80, and sometimes by 100 cm. At the same stage, we prepare recesses for the cellar and, if their presence is provided for by the project.

Attached to the walls of the pit polyethylene film or roofing material for waterproofing.

We fill the bottom of the trench with a 20-30 cm layer of a mixture of crushed stone and gravel, followed by careful tamping.

We install with the expectation that the height of the finished concrete structure is approximately 100 mm higher than the ground level.

Let the concrete mix harden. According to the regulations, concrete gains strength within 28 days. On top of the frozen tape, we lay the roofing material in two layers for waterproofing.

Stage two - walls

Determine the height and length of the walls individually. The laying of blocks is carried out like a brick. The most popular ways are as follows:

  • in half a stone;
  • into stone;
  • one and a half stones;
  • into two stones.

The thickness of the masonry directly affects the resistance of the finished walls to wind loads, temperature changes, etc.

Most often, as noted, builders use the "brick" method of laying, in which the next stacked row overlaps the seams of the underlying one. First, we lay out the corners, then we stretch the ropes between them for even masonry and continue to work.

In the process of arranging walls, we adhere to the following important rules:

In the upper part of the walls we leave nests for the installation of floor beams. Recommended dimensions - 200x200x150 mm. Gaps can then be laid or blown out. The optimal nest spacing is 100 cm.

The third stage - the roof

We make the base from I-beams - this is the best option. We select the length of the elements so that it exceeds the width of the building by 250 mm.

We put the beams across with a step of about 1 m. We fasten the beams in a suitable way, for example, with the help of anchors.

After that, we sew the base with bars 4 cm thick. We lay the bar as tightly as possible. We put on top of the bars, on it a heater (mineral wool, slag or expanded clay), pour 2 cm of screed and complete the “pie” with aquaizol, rubemast or another suitable material. You can choose another if you wish. top coat at your discretion.

Fourth stage - floor

We do at the level with the plinth. As a standard, a screed with a thickness of at least 100 mm is poured. We pre-clean the surface of debris, level it and, if necessary, fill the bottom with sand or fine gravel.

We make the screed from concrete grade M200. The material is poured continuously, slowly, in several layers. Let the concrete set and sand the surface.

To make it convenient to drive into the garage, we equip a ramp in front of the building. Be sure to make a 50-70 cm blind area around the entire perimeter of the building. It will ensure the timely removal of water from the base.

Finishing work

We choose a specific design option at our discretion, buy it or make it ourselves and install it according to the instructions that are relevant for the selected system.

Connect electricity accessible way("by air" or "underground"). Install and lighting in the right places.

We proceed to the outer and. There are no strict restrictions and specific recommendations in this regard. Walls can be rubbed with a cement mixture, finished with plaster or whitewash, sheathed with siding, clapboard or other similar material.

Interior arrangement After you. Desk, shelving - focus on your preferences and needs. Be sure to arrange a fire corner from a fire extinguisher, a box of sand, a shovel and a bucket.

Finally, bring the necessary furniture and accessories to the garage.
